It was a day like any other. The warm spring air was broken only by the slight chilly breeze that picked up now and again. The mid-day sky, for once, was cloudless, promising a warm sunny day that would probably end up being on the painful side for the candidates. Why? You may ask. Well that’s a simply one to answer. For all that today was an average day, there was something special about it. The sound at first was quiet, sounding first from the golden and orange mothers on the hatching sands. An internal clock was telling them both it was time; time for their eggs to hatch. Lo and behold, a few were even starting to quiver on the hot sands. The humming grew louder, spreading to the other dragons in the Weyr, and everywhere firelizards took up a high pitched hum of their own. It was a song to welcome the new generation. The mothers sent out a call, demanding the presence of candidate and viewer alike. They had best hurry, for the eggs would not wait for stragglers! As the mothers called for attendance, the weyrfolk were setting about on their tasks as well. The kitchen folk setting to work preparing for the feast that would come later that night, and the older weyrlings and volunteers alike wasted no time in butchering herdbeasts for the newly impressed to eat. Before long, the tables of food, oils and rags were set up in the hatching sands, and candidatemasters and weyrlingmasters were ushering the candidates on the sands while experiences riders were directing the viewers to the stands. Come one, come all, the clutches were finally hatching!

Tesla was inside the Weyr, helping to teach the younger weyrbrats and keep them in line, when the announcement came that the eggs were hatching. She couldn't leave right away, but as soon as the lesson was over, she dropped Serkan off in her room (the garnet flit hissed in a surly manner but settled down quickly, knowing he didn't want to be anywhere near broody dragons) and made her way to the hatching sands. She hadn't been there since the Touching Ceremony, but she remembered the way well. The stands were already filling up with spectators, and she got a seat as close to the candidates as possible, heart pumping with excitement as she waited for it to start. This would be the first Hatching she had actually attended in person.
R'hard was excited as well when the call went out, and he quickly tracked down Kaith, lounging around outside in the sun. "Kaith, your kids are hatching! You'd better come and watch." The fact that some of the eggs down there were sired by his dragon would have been enough on its own for the brownrider to want to attend, but that wasn't the only reason he was going. He knew one of the candidates who was standing for this clutch, and he was hoping to see Ooma Impress. Hopefully he would be able to cheer for her Impression, but if not, he could at least show her his support by his presence.
Kaith climbed to his feet with a minimum of fuss, and they made their way to the Hatching Sands. Kaith bugled a greeting to Kayath before taking up a perch on one of the ledges above. Meanwhile, R'hard found a seat in the stands close enough to the Sands that he could see the eggs and candidates clearly. He watched the candidates stream in, looking for Ooma among them so he could wave to her.
(OOC: Hirion and Ferrth, and Saira and Zamanth are attending the hatching as well from the stands, if anyone cares to RP with them.)

It had seemed as though everyone had been holding their breath for that one moment. Miyaka's head shot up from her work, the knife hovering over the bark of a tree branch she had been stripping into a bowl of crushed leaves and flower petals. Around her the few Firelizards that helped Theirs in the infirmary were beginning to humm, and the few dragons that had been injured from fall blinked sleepy, whirling eyes. Its time. That one thought reverberated in the candidate's head along to the rhythm of Dragonsong.
She did not rush to the barracks however, no there was no need, the eggs would've there still. Instead she finished the bark in only a few moments and straightened from her chair, her fingers playing along the edge of the desk idly. She was not going to become nervous like some child, there was simply no need. "Hey! Thought you may need these." The girl turned in time to grab at the white robe that was half hazardous thrown in her direction and promptly scowl at the young man who had brought it. "I see you're ready Tikrin."
The boy shrugged, his gold eyes hovering around the room. "I was bored so I went to spy on the eggs and the 'Mothers. One was starting to twitch slightly so I headed back and was in my robe by the time the mothers started humming." His attention was falsely placed on his fingers where he was picking out dirt as if he had better things to be doing. Sighing the white haired candidate took the robe and walked behind a wall, changing quickly while shouting back in a somewhat quiet voice.
"Why not go then, you're obviously bored Tik." The dark haired candidate gave an exasperated sigh, his eyes rolling bored with their discussion already. "Because Miya, I wanted to see how nervous you got." A twitch of his lips betrayed the smirk that only grew as she rounded the corner dressed in the robe with narrowed black eyes that flashed amber in the firelight. "I do not get nervous Tikrin." She grabbed the sandals he held and shoved them onto her feet hastily, brushing past him and heading to the sands.
---
The eggs hatch! Avirith's humming was as proud as any dragon could be as she announced the exciting news to her rider. The young woman smiled, a hand on her stomach as she got off the bed where she had been napping. Of course napping only works when one didn't have three flits humming in your ear and an overly happy green in your head. "I know sweetheart, let's get down there."
Ara rubbed Aries' spine, the Gold trilling in the middle of her humm as she snuggled into Hers neck. Stella landed on her head watching Bayi twist in excited circles around them all. If it were possible, they got down to the stands in record time, the group quickly finding a place among the other onlookers and shivering with anticipation. Ara could not blame J'dol for staying on the sands if he could, nor Iirla though that would be a bit harder of course.
So, she looked for her other friends seeking out Vl'kan, Talian and T'rian, especially the young girl.
---
On the sands Miyaka and Tikrin arrived together and stood with their individual groups, girls closer to the Gold's Daughter and the boys closer to the middle and Kayath's eggs. Bowing they both waited their turn to announce their presence, speaking all sit simultaneously and fitting between the other's words.
"Hello Kayath," "Greetings Izanycorth." "Thank you for the opportunity you and your sibling present." "May your children find the best possible match today."

If J’dol was the type of man to giggle with glee when something exciting was happening he would. Who are we kidding, of COURSE J’dol was giggling, and practically dancing from excitement no less. The Junior Weyrlord had been in the dining hall grabbing a quick bite to eat when Kayath’s voice, exciting beyond belief, entered his mind and ushered him back to the sands, claiming one of the eggs had moved. J’dol was never the type to doubt his princess, so the man had torn out of the hall with such speed that no doubt a few were able to figure out what was going on before the humming started in earnest.
Settle down Mine. I’m supposed to be the excited one. Not you. Despite her harsh words, J’dol knew the topaz was fighting to keep from being too giddy as well. Especially once spectators and candidates began making their way into the stands and sands, respectively. He knew he should call for Ara, but he didn’t doubt her green would make sure she was up in time. Ah, speak of the devil, there’s she was! Practically skipping, J’dol made his way to the edge of the sands, the anxious excitement evident in his sparkling eyes.
“Ara! Ara! They’re hatching!” He grinned with childish abandon. He would, without a doubt, make his way back to Kayath’s side once the eggs started cracking, but for now neither he, nor his dragoness, saw any harm in a brief spat of socializing. His two flits popped in from between and tried to land on him, but a quick, annoyed huff from the topaz sent the two little blues spiraling at Ara. Hopefully she wouldn’t mind the addition of two more flits for a little bit.
For Aridani, this would be the second hatching she ever got to witness, and she knew, without a doubt, that it would be just as exciting as the previous. The mute harper didn’t doubt that the hatchings would ever lose their magic and she could already feel a new song forming in her mind at she took in the beauty of the two mothers. Harmony chirped in agreement from her shoulders before continuing the quiet hum she had started not long before. The harper made her way into the stands, finding a seat as close as she dared without being right at the front.
Firo had been in the candidates barracks putting a few finishing touches on his candidate robes, having just finished patching up a small tear. He glanced up as the call reached his mind and, after a quick glance over his robes, quickly went back to his room to change and grab his sandals. He didn’t particularly want to impress; he was here because it was his father’s wish, but even so he could feel the hatching jitters setting in.
He didn’t take his time getting to the sands, nor did he rush. Punctuality was important but he didn’t want to be the first one there, facing the protective mothers. When he arrived it was to see a couple of candidates had beaten him, and he gave them a lazy head nod of encouragement. Maybe if he was lucky, they’d impress instead of him? Then he could go and continue his craft and be happy.
“My queens, thank you for this honor,” He gave Izanycorth and Kayath a respectful bow before moving to stand near the other candidates.
Cayin cocked his head to listen to the call of the dragon queens, grinning in excitement as the words sunk in. The eggs were hatching! Today! Lehr popped in from between to land on his shoulder, his tiny white head rubbing encouragingly against the man’s cheek before the white disappeared to join the multitude of flits and dragons gathering on the ledges of the hatching sands.
“Li~am,” Cayin grinned at the other boy, whom he had been following around all day. Pulling the short man into a hug, Cayin gave him a passionate kiss, if he’d let him. “You know… if we impress we won’t be able to do that for a while.” Even so, he was beyond excited at the prospect of impressing. “Come on shorty! We need to get going.”
{{OOC: On the off chance anyone wants to RP with them, Yufa is down with the healers by the edge of the sands and J'degar is in the stands near the feeding area}}

Linda heard the call while she was in the candidate barracks herself, setting in some of the gem shards as eyes on the carving of the mothers and their eggs mid hatching. Of course they would hatch before she was finished though, and she had to wait a few moments for it to set before she could get ready. Her fair and even her Huntyres were getting excited, however after a stern talking to they waited for her in the room. She didn't need a flurry of them in the hatching grounds causing mass mayhem and chaos... Especially Rorce near the hatchlings.
Quickly she put on her robes, but with a frown she looked at the sandals... Why were sandals a need for the candidates? Her own boots were better off on the hot sands then something flimsy and a dragon could easily tear into skin with it... However it was tradition and she didn't want to seem disrespectful so she had thickened the sole and made a few small changes to put them on. Of course she wouldn't be the first to arrive, but definitely not the last if it was anything she could help. Eventually she got to the candidates, she noticed Firo though and just started to glare at him. He had been a thorn in her side since she came to the Weyr.... For all she knew he would try to stop the dragons from going anywhere near her.
Lilia on the other hand was very very happy, she had actually gotten to be at the Weyr again when something was happening. Actually the eggs were hatching and she would get to watch it, she couldn't wait to tell her parents when she got home. Helia was back at the crafthall of course, the little feline didn't like going out and about much even with the young deaf girl. All she needed to worry about now was Fletch, but he was more keen to go to the weyr lake then deal with angry mothers on the sands.
So many white robes, and there were the eggs and mothers too!! Lilia gave a big smile as she edged herself onto the stands to find a seat. Everything was happening so fast, she hoped nobody would talk to her because she didn't want to glance away from the clutch. One good thing about being deaf, she noted, was that she wouldn't get distracted by the noises around her.
((OOC: Linda and Lilia have arrived. Linda in candidate attire where candidates are gathering, Lilia up in the stands.))

The Time Had Finally Come!
Ooma had her long midnight black hair pulled up into a bun, with only a little of her bangs framing her face. She wore the long white robe that candidates normally wore, for once, hardly caring about her appearance. Her heart was racing, thundering in her chest.
Her olive colored eyes looked at the beautiful clutches, the twitching eggs. One of those hatchlings might be her bonded.... This one moment could forever change her life. Forever change her entire future!
Ooma took a deep breath, surveying the crowd gathering in the stands. Sweat had begun to dot her forehead. She couldn't see any familar faces- Wait!
She spotted Kaith as he took to a ledge, and she smiled hopefully. Now she searched the stands again, and could just make out the brownrider, R'hard.
I wonder if we'll still be able to have fun... Even if I Impress, I hope we can be friends... He'd be my only friend...
Ooma knew she had to be wary of her emotions and relationships if she Impressed. It could worry and upset her dragonet...
But still, seeing R'hard made her smile...
The black haired candidate turned her attention back to the eggs. I hope I will Impress... Oh let me Impress!
That's all Ooma wanted right now.

Liam blinked rapidly as the call of the Queens entered his mind. His bright blue eyes widened, and he turned to his best friend in the world, Cayin, with a wide grin on his face. This was it! They had been waiting for this for what felt like... forever! Liam could hardly believe that the eggs were actually hatching!
Cayin, who had been following him around all day, pulled him into a short hug before giving him a passionate kiss, which Liam returned eagerly. Grinning, the boy laughed. "It'll be worth it to Impress, though, won't it?" He asked, worried that perhaps Cayin didn't want to Impress because of that fact.
As he called back, though, Liam's grin widened. "Yeah, come on!" He yelled, racing out of the dining hall, where they had been grabbing a quick breakfast. All food forgotten, the boy practically blasted across the Weyr and through the door of the Candidate barracks. Pushing open the door to his room (and Cayin's room, of course), he began shuffling his clothes around until... aha!
Holding up the time-old traditional robe, Liam grinned. "Better hurry up and find yours, slow poke!" He teased, pulling on the robe. He kicked off his boots and put on the given sandals, which were more than a bit too large. Well, beggars couldn't be choosers.
Shaking his head, he tossed his dark hair out of his eyes and pulled the necklace Cayin had given him out from under the robe so that it was proudly displayed on top of the white. "Come on, Cayin!" He practically yelled. "We don't want to be late!"
Dog-trotting back through the Weyr, Cayin (hopefully) at his heels, he made his way to the Hatching Sands. Upon reaching them, he stoped dead in his tracks, gasping at the wonder. Candidates were already gathered, and the stands were filling rapidly. What a day! Stepping onto the sands, blue eyes wide and trying to take everything in, he took his place in the circle of male candidates, not even noticing the heat of the sands through his awe.

S'bel jerked awake as he heard the dragon mothers start their hatching song. Soon, his flitter had joined in, as well as his great bronze, Maerath. S'bel glanced outside, noting the time, and quickly threw off his sleeping furs. Tugging on a beautifully embroidered brown tunic that nearly matched Maerath's hide, he slipped into a pair of pants and boots before vaulting onto the bronze's broad back.
Maerath was humming deeply as he dropped from their personal Weyr into the sky, spiraling down, down, down, until he landed on the opposite side of the stands from where he knew Iirla and Vl'kan would be. The dragon also wanted to avoid Izanycorth and Thormyth, too, so he shuffled into place as S'bel slid from his back and took a place in the stands, not even looking toward where Iirla would be.
Instead, he watched the Candidates, searching in particular for one girl... Hanako. He felt almost a fatherly affection for the girl, and knew that without her, he never would have snapped out of his rage and depression, and never would have met R'vin. He wondered where the blue-rider was, but pushed that thought away. He owed Hanako a lot, and thus was here to support her as best he could, and cheer her on to Impression, if she was destined to Impress on this day.

Iromineelmris was pissed. As a cook, he should be helping prepare the feast, but as soon as he had heard the dragon Queens humming, well... let's just say that his fellis-laced klah became more fellis than klah. He was in no shape to be working around the fires. He didn't want to watch the hatching, but what choice did he have? He wanted to watch those sharding candidates who would grow up to be riders... a chance he himself had never had.
Making his way along the stands, his eyes already semi-glossed over, he growled as the Candidates began to enter. He had tried to work the feast, but the Head Cook had sent him away after he accidentally overturned a bowl of stew and burned his arm. He was not having a good day! He didn't want to see people Impress! He didn't want to watch people have the chance he never had! It wasn't fair!
Spotting J'degar over in the stands by the feeding area, he made his way toward his friend. Gar would understand. Gar of all people knew him best, knew how he would be feeling. Sliding into the spot next to the brown rider, he hung his head. "I'm too high to work the feast," he said glumly. "I overturned soup and burned my arm." Offering his arm to J'degar to see, he sighed unhappily. "They sent me away so I came here but I don't want to watch."
The man's head hung even lower, and he rested it in his hands angrily. "I give up. I can't watch, I can't not watch." His eyes were peering through his fingers, and suddenly his head shot up, and he grabbed J'degar's arm. "Gar! Is that egg moving! Look!" He pointed, eyes now completely glazed over. "I got to touch them, Gar. But I'll never Impress." ...and he was back to being depressed again.

Asaara was brushing her hair when she heard a hum. She dropped the hairbrush and rushed to put on the white robe and sandals of candidacy. The eggs were hatching! Mhedroh tried to perch on her shoulder but she pushed him away. He crooned sadly and flew to his perch near the window. She smiled sadly and rushed out the door to the Hatching Grounds.
Asaara arrived, breathless, as she entered the grounds. When she got her wind back, she approached the golden queen and bowed in a respectful manner. She then took her place with the other girl candidates. Faranth, please let me Impress this one time. she thought as she watched the eggs rock in the sands.

Gar was watching the hatching for two reasons. The first and most obvious was that his only child was standing for the first time and Gar was a supportive father. The second was that he simply wanted to see which of the ingrates were going to be lucky, and which ones he might be stuck teaching at some point in the future. The brownrider looked up as a body dropped to sit beside him, rolling his eyes at the smell of fellis.
“I noticed. I can smell you from here idiot. You shouldn’t drink at a hatching you know.” He contemplated grabbing the skin from Iro to stop him from drinking any more, but Gar knew his self-control wasn’t quite that good. If that skin ended up in his hands he would, without a doubt, drink it, and who knew how powerful the stuff was! He reached out to ruffle the man’s hair as if he was a child.
“Enjoy it for what it is, Iro. Pick a candidate, vote for him, and go from there.” He shifted to get comfy, wondering when Assaila would get her. Syphraelth and passed on the message that the hatching was starting. “If you behave through this hatching Syph’ll take you up after.”
Cayin took significantly longer in finding his room, mostly because he stood dumbly in the center of the room, trying to remember where he put it before it suddenly struck him and he reached under the bed to dust the white – or rather, dusty grey- robe off. He got into the robe, moving a bit slower than Liam though he was equally excited, and slipped his sandals on. One was a tad broken, but hopefully it would hold for the hatching.
With a grin, he trotted after Liam until they arrive at the sands. He bowed to the queens, recalling their brief lesson in etiquette before following liam to the circle of male candidates. He was grinning the entire way, excited about the eggs and wishing everyone the best of luck.

The eggs were beginning to shake with more fervor now, as if sensing that the candidates had arrived and were waiting for them. Eggs everywhere were beginning to show signs of hatching. A wiggle here, a crack there, one egg from Kayath’s clutch actually rocked wildly enough to topple over on its side. As the wayward egg stole the attention of some, it was one of the least expected eggs that broke shell first; the smallest of Izanycorth's broad. Spider web cracks spread along the Life Bringer Egg, slowly at first but gaining speed as the hatchling within doubled its efforts. Finally with a quiet rattle and a quick pop, the shell fell apart, revealing first a dark purple tail before a chubby pink hatchling followed. She shook her head, knocking a few of the shell shards off her round head and bubbly cheeks. The Life Bringer Amethyst stood and gave another shake to remove a few more shards off her back before turning towards the candidates. She chirped, looking them over with a happy whirl in her eyes, as if it were her children she was looking at, rather than her future bondeds. Finally seeming to see something that intrigued her, the Life Bringer Amethyst stepped – no bounced – away from the remnants of her egg and towards a lucky candidate off to the side of the sands. With whirling rainbow eyes, it was clear the first impression had been made.
Life Bringer Amethyst Tawth Adoptable
Note: Some of the dragons will impress 'npcs' and be adoptable. Their information will be available after the hatching.

It had somewhat surprised Alyara when J'dol had come...skipping...yes, skipping, over to where she was standing. Avirith let out an amused chortle as she curled up on a nearby ledge, the firelizards also trilling as the two blues came to land on Theirs. Of course Aries was all about making sure they understood who was in charge, and Stella chirped unhappily in response. Who needed to listen to stuffy Golds?!? "Stella, be nice." At the firm but gentle command the Green crooned and shook her head. No, she didn't want to listen!
"Stella.." The young flit chirped and ducked her head, nipping at Spazz instead to hide the embarrassment. "Yes, it is quite exciting isn't it? Finally we're going to see who was right about those bets my love." She walked over to her weyrmate, seeking his comforting arms in an embrace. "Will you stay with Kayath?" Ara knew the answer was probably yes, but she still had a bit of a hope that maybe he would stay with her, as selfish as that might be.
A hand slipped to her stomach, which in the past few sevendays had started to show the child she bore. "It's doing well, at least I haven't gotten sick yet." A small smile curved on her lips, her eyes misting over slightly before she blinked and they cleared again. "It's Kayath and Izanycorth's day today for their children though, and she needs you far more than I do. So get going you...remember keep an eye on her and the candidates, try to help mediate anything you see, oh and for the love of Faranth, J'dol...don't take off your shirt no matter how hot you get."
When the first egg decided to hatch though the Greenrider beamed as it proved to be one of Kayath's, her hand tightening in excitement around J'dol's arm. "She's so adorable. Look at her...and oh...she found her rider so quickly too!"
---
Tikrin watched carefully, observing the other candidates as they came by and took their own places among the sands. This is boring...will something happen already? He wanted drama, action, catastrophe even! He wanted something to just sharding happen! A hand, frustrated in its movements, combed through his dark hair and he looked up with a snap of his head as an egg finally hatched. Ah, so a little Amethyst was the first. Gold eyes watched it as it picked its way through the candidates and headed to someone, though who he wasn't quite familiar with which was odd. He usually knew everyone.
Boring...too easy.
---
Miyaka on the other hand wasn't just bored, she was down right finished with the hatching before she even began. She was here to help any injured candidates or weyrlings, that was something she had come to know from the day she arrived at the Weyr and had been hearded into the infirmary. She was something that was nice to have on hand, not someone they needed. Her eyes narrowed at the bright and cheery personality of the Amethyst, her mind wishing she could reach out to it as it could to her, and of course she would give it a heavy dose of not amused emotions.
This was nothing like she imagined it would be, at least there would have ideally been some sort of fanfare or better thing to watch than just a small purple dragon toppling over itself! Her dark eyes closed as she breathed in a steadying breath. It wouldn't last long, and hopefully she'd actually get to do something soon.

Ooma saw the pretty little egg hatch, one she'd touched too. Oh, maybe- No.
The wonderful little amethyst fell onto the sands, causing a cry of excitment in the crowd.
But Ooma could see right away that it wouldn't be hers, no. It impresses almost immediently... to another.
Ooma felt the first bit of disappointment and doubt creep into her mind, it weighed heavily in her stomach.
Oh... R'hard... I didn't get the first one... But there's still more..
Her gaze glanced at where R'hard sat, she was sad, but still hopeful...
There were still plenty of eggs on the sands to be hatched.. The black haired candidate watched, praying silently that maybe one was hers..

A purple dragon? Asaara wondered, as the first egg hatched and the baby inside Impressed faster than she can blink. She quietly sighed as the baby amethyst bonded with her rider. She wondered if that would be her, bonding with a sticky, wet dragon with rainbow swirling eyes. She looked at the stands, searching for a familiar face. Then, she saw him.
Ka'mond.
The one who comforted her when she cried at the Gather, the one she kissed that starry night on the beach. She waved at him, then turned her attention to the cracking eggs. Hopefully, one of them would contain the dragon that would choose her for the first and only time.
---------- GET UP, MINE!!!! THE EGGS ARE HATCHING!!!! Aerinth shouted at his rider. K'te yawned as he woke up. He put on his clothes, Nerugui leaped onto his shoulder and the three made their way to the Hatching Grounds. They arrived and K'te sat right next to his cousin, G'daro, who had arrived earlier. "Hey, G'daro." K'te said to him.
------------ G'daroMine. The eggs are hatching. Banemith told his rider. Really? So soon? G'daro asked him. Banemith nodded. Alright let's go. he told him. Fizgig and Bellatrix assumed their post on G'daro's shoulders and the four made their way to the Hatching Grounds. G'daro sat in the stands and Banemith joined his fellow dragons on large perches. "Hey K'te! You made it!" G'daro said to K'te as he sat down next to him.

Nai happened to be in her quarters in the Candidate's Barracks when she heard the great thrum. It seemed to vibrate throughout the whole Weyr, in fact it probably was! Nai smiled to herself, carefully setting the book she had been "reading" aside. While she had placed a more complicated book on the outside, the inside was actual an educational book. She was, much in vain, attempting to teach herself to improve her reading. She knew the letters well enough, but reading wasn't quite at her level yet.
She quickly slipped off her bed, and grabbed her candidates robe's, which were already hanging on a rack. With a quick efficiency, she slipped into them. Having done that, she took the care of folding her others clothes, and putting them away. Turning, she grabbed her wakizashi from where it sat on top of her desk. She had no plans of taking it to the hatching, naturally. Opening a drawer, she pushed aside some clothes and slipped the short sword underneath them. It wasn't a very thief-proof method… but… 'out of sight, out of mind' right? Seeing that done, she gave a short nod and then departed her quarters with the many other candidates.
Her thoughts as she quickly walked across the grounds weren't complex and weren't terribly different than many other Candidates. Would she Impress? Whom to? What color? What gender? Would she be injured? Would anyone else be injured? How would the hatching fair, and how would the Queens react? There were so many interesting possibilities, and she simply couldn't decide which was which! All she knew was that she hoped she Impressed. And that no one was seriously injured. She'd rather not Impress than someone be injured, she decided.
Walking with a quicker step, she neared the Sands. A dragonet had already Hatched! She couldn't believe! That baby was very quick and eager to be born! She sped up, now breaking into a small sprint. For all she knew, that could be her dragonet looking for her! After a minute or two of sprinting, she finally caught up to the female Candidates. She joined them, only to see the small purplish-pink dragonet Impress to another girl. She gave a small cordial clap, and then turned her attention back to the crowd, and to the eggs.
There was such a buzz. A true air of excitement! All the eggs vibrating, never knowing which would hatch next! She simply couldn't wait to watch each one. Feeling the energy build, she bowed her head just slightly, curving her arms. The 'at-ease' stance of Ortiega. It helped her focus her energy, not to be frenetic or silly-headed like many others. She lifted her head back up to watch the crowd with focus, her body still held tightly controlled though. Today was a big day. She hoped.

Tesla watched excitedly as the eggs began to hatch. Since her eyes were locked--for the moment--on the toppled egg from Kayath's clutch, she barely noticed the hatching of the amethyst from Izanycorth's clutch. She certainly noticed when she found her rider, though, and she clapped respectfully for the new pair. From then on, she made sure to divide her attention between the two clutches, but she still kept a close eye on the topaz junior queen's eggs. She didn't know the mutation colors well enough to know what might come from her eggs, and she was curious to know.
R'hard watched the amethyst hatch as well, only slightly disappointed that it wasn't one of Kayath's. He wanted to make sure he clapped for each new pair today, but he glanced periodically in Ooma's direction. It was only one hatchling and there were plenty of other eggs yet to come, so he wasn't particularly worried.
