The eggs, their movement had distracted Linda from Firo as she gave a little smile. Her face noticably relaxed into a tender smile. The eggs weren't really that different from their smaller kin, and part of her remembered the hectic moment... However there was something vastly different that was shown to her when the Amethyst hatched... Her hide was mostly pink, and part of Linda actually was grateful that she found her bonded that wasn't her. Not that she hated the hatchling bu her and pink didn't really get along.
Quickly however her attention was turned to the rest of the eggs once that happy union went well. Her brother had told her that if the first impression of a dragonet went well then it was a good omen. Maybe that meant none of these little dragonets will be killed. She could only hope as Linda didn't know if she would be able to help or stop such a thing from happening....

Not far from where the remnants of the first egg rested, a second egg, the small Ocean Egg was getting rather furious with its shaking. If one listened closely over the sounds of the watchers, one might be able to hear the quite tap tap tap of the dragon’s egg tooth against the inside of its shell. Finally as the moments ticked on with little activity from the other eggs, a thick dark blue snout poked out of the small hole. A moment of rustling, and the blue dragon burst out of its confines.
The Ocean Blue lifted his long triangular head, and anyone who expected a pretty dragon would be sorely disappointed. With a thickset jaw, teeth poking over his lips and short stubby legs, he looked more a sea creature than a dragon. However, the Ocean Blue didn’t seem to notice if he was being stared at. He was a warrior after all, he had no need for worry! Unless they were picking on his teeny tiny size at least. Belly dragging along in the sands, the Ocean Blue began slowly stalking towards the candidates, his sharp eyes darting to the candidates as he drew closer. He stopped and looked up at Liam, snorting in discontent before moving off towards the girls.

Nai shifted lightly back and forth on the balls of her feet, watching the new baby dragonet free itself from its egg, and begin to search. She supposed, if she thought metaphorically, if it was like a human life too. The home situation was like an egg, and depending on the dragonet and the egg, the egg might be comforting or stifling. From there each baby dragonet, like a growing person, had to break their way free and find their own purpose. It was an odd sort of metaphor, but she thought it worked.
He seemed strong willed, which was good for a dragonet. There were still many eggs to Hatch yet, so whether this was 'her' dragonet or not she could not know. She doubted she'd develop any affinity to a dragonet prior to Impression. After all, she hadn't Touched any. Nor was she silly enough to attach herself to a dragonet that could easily Impress someone else. She would wait, patiently, and choose the one that chose her. If she was chosen at all. It was an exciting prospect. With her eyes darting between the shaking eggs and the blue, she waited.

Another egg was hatching from the queen's clutch, the sea-blue ocean egg. Perhaps it wasn't a big surprise when it cracked open to reveal a blue dragon. Tesla raised a hand to her mouth at the site of the hatchling; he was certainly...unique-looking. He didn't seem bothered by his appearance, though, and he moved with confidence through the candidates. Tesla was surprised that he didn't seem all that interested in the boys; but she was sure there were a few girls among the candidates tough enough for the fierce-looking blue. She waited to see what would happen next.

Ooma gaped at the blue hatchling, staying where she was.
Hello, handsome blue.
She thought gentlely, stareing at the odd funny looking male. She hoped to Impress a female, but right now, Ooma wanted any dragon she could get...
If it drew near, she'd reach out to stroke it, if it didn't, she'd think kind loving things to it.
She couldn't glance at R'hard, not now. She had to focus. Impress me... She thought, please.....
Her black hair was falling out of the bun, and sweat shimmered on her neck. She hadn't even been here long....

“I was of course, my love” J’dol couldn’t say it with a straight face. He still had a hard time with pet names of any kind, but he was trying and he hoped it showed. “Yeah I’ll have to go back to her once things pick up.. she’ll say otherwise but I know she wants me there.” He chuckled as she started bossing him around, having fully expected her to go teacher-mode on her. Oh but that last order was just too much! “What! But its soooo hot out there! And the candidates get those nice airy robes… and we all know I’m easy on the eyes!” He would, of course, obey her this time, but only because the babies were more important than his ego.
When the first egg of Izanycorth’s hatched and impressed without any difficulty he knew it was time to take his place with Kayath, though he gave a quick parting phrase to his weyrmate. “Oh, that’s the indication to go! Wish us luck!” Kayath looked over as her rider returned before bugling up at Kaith. She was pleased to see he had come to see his children hatch.
Firogel rolled his eyes at Linda. He had seen the look she gave him and he wanted nothing more than to start taunting and teasing her right there. Instead though, he had to behave and luckily the hatching of the first egg helped distract him! An amethyst? First? A Bronze would have been a much better omen, but he supposed there was no helping it now. He gave a brief nonchalant clap as the dragoness found her lifemate and made her way off the sands. Oh, but there was a blue! A normal colour! Oh but shards he wasn’t exactly a looker was he!?

It was another of Izanycorth’s clutch that hatched next. So quick was the process, in fact, that the sudden loud crack and following explosion likely caught a few of the closer people by surprise. The dragon within wasted no time launching herself out of the remnants of her shell, spreading her wings wide and creating a rather lengthy shadow in the afternoon sun. A sharp, angled body, large wings, and hide so bright it almost hurt to look at, the Passage Green cut a striking figure and she knew it. Her hatching drew not only the attention of the candidates, but also the gaze of the Ocean Blue The blue crooned, ignoring the candidates for a moment and giving a worried croon to the green, as if asking if she was alright. He would be most upset if she had hurt herself on her shell after all! The Passage Green tucked her wings to her side, withdrawing slightly. She was fine, she chirped, her eyes whirling with happy, but hungry hues. With another worried croon, the Ocean Blue knew he couldn’t worry too much about his sister. She was fine after all, but there was someone he needed to find… Oh! Was that the young lady he was looking for? She had such pretty white hair! The Ocean Blue dragged himself along the sand, twisting himself around the young girl, his eyes whirling curiously. Yes, this was the one for him. Asaara, my sweet little lady, your Croyeth feared he wouldn’t find you. Worry not my sweet, I am here now and I shall keep you safe from this point on! With whirling eyes of rainbow, the blue pressed himself gently against Asaara. I’m sorry Asaara, my sweet, my stomach hurts something terrible. Might we find something to eat?
Ocean Blue Croyeth Impressed To: Asaara Pronunciation: Croye-eth Rank: Blue Size: 22.7 Feet (4.5 Feet at Hatching) Color Codes: 0072bc 002157 69c2fc
Appearance:
Croyeth is certainly an interesting looking dragon. With a long, triangular head and thickset jaw, teeth poking out over his lips, he’s certainly not what someone would call beautiful. Yet, there is a subtle power and beauty to him nonetheless. This dragon, despite his absolutely tiny size, is a powerful, muscular dragon. He has a thick neck and even thicker tail that ends in a tiny, barely noticeable fork. While both are shorter than the average blue’s there is likely more muscle in them than average and it is easy to see the muscles rippling beneath his hide with every movement. His legs are short, stubby even, and his belly has a permanent well-fed look to it. His neck ridges are a bit smaller and rounder than average and reach all the way down his back to the tip of his tail.
This blue is just that; blue. With a hide of a solid sky blue he would surely blend into the sky while flying if not for his few darker markings. His entire tail is a deep, strong blue that stands out from his lighter hide. From his forehead down along his spine is a line of dark blue. The same blue circles his jaw and runs down the underside of his neck before tapering off near his chest. Partway up Croyeth’s jaw, a second line begins and follows the curve of his neck before twisting to meet the blue on his spine. Along his wings and neck are flashes of bright, aqua blue.
At first glance, Croyeth can seem like a lazy dragon. He can usually be found stretched out in the sand, basking in the warmth of the sun, wings splayed out to gain as much heat as possible. When he does move, he looks rather awkward on land. His short legs and otherwise heavy body are low-set and he tends to drag his belly and tail along the ground when he steps. His will also need to pay close attention when this boy eats as he tends to swallow obscenely large chunks of food without chewing.
Personality:
Protective, Warrior, Easily Offended, Loving
Croyeth is, first and foremost, a guardian. He considers himself to be his rider’s keeper and can be protective to the point of obsession. Of course, this doesn’t mean Croyeth only gives his protection to his rider. No, this blue has an irrepressible need to protect anyone and anything, be it people, pets, or even a favourite location. It doesn’t even matter to him whether his assistance is wanted. In his mind, you want his help and you’re going to get it, no matter what.
He’s not the type to sit back and carefully discuss the issues. Croyeth tends to run into situations, claws flailing in an ‘attack first ask questions later’ type deal. He is a fierce warrior, able to keep a rather level head despite his rash personality. It may simply be that he likes to gain the upper hand, and if that means rushing in, so be it. He is surprisingly wise for a blue, and as long as he remains calm he can use his wits to his advantage.
Shockingly enough, Croyeth actually has moments of self-consciousness. He absolutely abhors anyone who comments on his small size or appearance. It is one of the few things that will make him lose his temper entirely and send him into a blind rage. His rider will need to be firm with him to keep him in line during such temper tantrums.
Mind-Voice: I'm NOT tiny!
Croyeth’s voice is rough like sandpaper as it touches your mind. Deep and gravelly, there is no mistaking the power hidden deep within him.

Tesla jumped at the explosion of the Passage egg, and she glanced over, half rising from her seat to get a better view of what had caused it. She was a little disappointed to see it was a mere green, pretty normal-looking, at least compared to her blue brother. She did seem to like to strike a pose, though, and Tesla smiled.
She watched as the blue hatchling made his choice, picking out a strange-looking, pale girl from the female candidates. She clapped dutifully for the new rider and then went back to watching the eggs.

Iromineelmris simply glared at his friend. He knew he shouldn't be drinking at a hatching, but what was J'degar going to do about it? Nothing, that was what. Iro knew his friend wouldn't risk taking the skin from him, since that would lead to them both being high at a hatching. The cook sighed. "Fine. Who should I cheer for?"
--------------------
Liam glanced over at Cayin with a grin. He was rather nervous, but also very excited. He couldn't wait to see if he or Cayin Impressed. He hoped both of them would. That would be the best. As eggs hatched, however, he stopped thinking and just watched the magic. He gazed steadily back as a blue gazed at him and moved past to Impress to someone else. Oh well. There were plenty more dragons left!

A lovely blue hatched and Asaara felt her heart go to him. She watched as the blue sniffed and snuffed at all the candidates on the boy's side. Then it went over to the girls and twisted its head around and crooned to the green that hatched after him. Then, turning its head around again, it spotted her and dragged himself to her. With swirling rainbow eyes, the blue gazed into Asaara's pinkish-eyes.
A voice entered her mind saying: Asaara, my sweet little lady, your Croyeth feared he wouldn’t find you. Worry not my sweet, I am here now and I shall keep you safe from this point on! I’m sorry Asaara, my sweet, my stomach hurts something terrible. Might we find something to eat? Asaara gasped in surprise and stumbled to the sands, panting and sweating. She raised a hand to her new lifemate's face and rubbed above its eyes, just like Ka'mond's flit, Star.
She propped herself up onto one knee as she bonded with her new dragon. It's alright, my Croyeth. I'll get you something to eat. she told him, tears of unbelievable joy streaming down her pale face. She stood up, newly Impressed, and grabbed a bucket of meat to feed her new blue dragon. She returned and tossed a piece to him. Croyeth caught it and surprisingly, swallowed it whole instead of chewing it first. Asaara smiled and gave him more. She looked to the stands and spotted Ka'mond in the stands. She smiled and Croyeth rubbed his head against her chest.
Now we can be together, Ka'mond, someday. she thought. Then, the albino and the blue walked out of the sands together forever.

Linda started to clap for the second one to impress, this time on one of the girls semi close by? His wrapping himself around his new bonded though reminded her of her fair's tails and her neck. A little giggle came out of her... yes a feminine giggle by how he was acting. Her attention turned swiftly towards the green though, she did look a little pretentious but... It seemed most people liked those that showed off like that? Well she was a Dragon so it was obvious being the center of attention.
Lilia watched the entire hatching, more and more feeling empty as Fletch wasn't there with her. But quickly she tried to shake off that feeling and watched as such a pretty little amethyst went to her bonded. That seemed rather quick and a good start, no fighting and nothing bad happened. Then a blue!!! oh what a cutie!! she was actually rather partial to blues... she was biased about that too. He did look a bit stocky but that just made him even more special, and awwww he was even worried about his green sister... She really hoped he got a good bonded, which it seemed to be right?

Ka'mond cheered loudly when he saw Asaara impress. It was so... wonderful. My dear Asaara... Yes.. My dear Bluerider Asaara...
He grinned as she left...

Ooma watched Asaara almost jealously. How lucky.. so very lucky.
She was immediately attracted to the green. A picture- perfect, eye-catcher of a green! What a gorgeous, stunning, amazing female!
She stumbled a step forward, nearly falling in her awe. Oh... Please let her impress to her... What a pair they could make!!

Nai grinned and clapped politely as the blue Impressed. He seemed to be a strong dragon. Not quick, but strong. That could serve him well, if he and His managed to leverage it properly. Otherwise, there was scant for Nai to do. She glanced to her sides and smiled at the female Candidates next to her, and then watched.
The green hatched with much glare, and she shook her head. 'What a show off...' Nai thought, but it was with humor, and not with any sort of malice. Giving a small shake, she waited to see what would happen next.

J’degar chuckled at the look Iro gave him, well aware the cook was NOT happy about this. He gave the cook a quick pat on the shoulder, mildly amused about it. He could understand the man’s reason for not wanting to be here, he knew Iro wanted to impress more than anything. It couldn’t be easy for the guy. “My son’s out there you know. Cheer for him maybe? Or any of the nice lads really.”
Cayin grinned back at Liam, though he was feeling beyond relaxed about the whole process. The sands were warm beneath his feet and the occasional breeze felt wonderful on his bare arms. In fact, it was rather easy to lose himself in his thoughts with how comfortable he had begun. It was the loud crack that brought his attention back in time to see the green’s display, and watch the blue impress. How exciting!

Blue...and there's a Green. Seems like the original colors are still more apparent than those of the newer colors. Even the common Amethyst is not the end all be all of the clutch. Surely more will appear; five, yes five more is my guess from Izanycorth's...more from Kayath's..maybe all of them, no not all, just most.
Tikrin's head tilted to the side as he locked onto the eggs that were beginning to shake and the dragonets that had already hatched. There wasn't much to observe, there really wasn't. The green and blue talked briefly, again nothing of importance to discuss or muse at. It was terribly boring...so very boring, Tikrin couldn't help but show the yawn that made his jaw click slightly. The candidates aren't even worrying too much...though that girl does seem to be getting worked up a bit.
He looked over at Ooma, observing how she seemed to be physically reaching out to the dragonets. Silly girl, didn't she know they couldn't hear her? Didn't she know that trying to touch one was dangerous and entirely against the rules they had been taught? Oh, why if this wasn't the most intriguing thing on the sands Tikrin didn't know what was...and that was somewhat sad in his opinion.
---
Miyaka folded her arms against her chest, her eyes going from the candidates, to the stands, and then back to the eggs in distinct intervals. What a pity, that girl can't even contain herself....weak. The judgement was made quickly and decisively about the one candidate that seemed to be pining after a blue, and the healer candidate shuffled around on the hot sands. She hated the heat, she wanted it to be dark and cold....why was she here again? It was a waste of her time, that was for sure. Her eyes strayed back to the dragonets that had now impressed, except for that green. You're not much better than your siblings or their riders...nothing special, just another dragon, another fighter. It was a decision that was stated definitely in her mind, and happened to stay there.
Did the Green seem to be more than just a pretty, striking face? Perhaps, but Miyaka had yet to see anything that truly made her pleased.
