{Please post your character here with their eggs!}
Simiia moved quickly towards Sevrin's room, her own pot of heated sands carrying two shaking flitter eggs. Too lovely little flitter eggs preparing to hatch. She hoped that all over the Weyr and wherever those eggs had ended up on the face of Pern... She hoped them safe hatching.
"Today is the day, Sevrin!" she said excitedly. She smiled warmly and walked in to watch both his and her eggs hatch. She had some jerky and some meatrolls with her as well, which she carefully balanced near her elbow. "I brought food too!" She grinned at him.
She set down her pot beside the hearth and waited for the eggs to start rocking, watching Sevrin's and her eggs both. They were beautiful little things with brightly colored shells... outside... it was starting to rain. Spring showers....
It seemed like it might be the perfect storm.
((I'm sorry this is short.))

Sevrin was asleep, or half-asleep at the sound of rain. It was soothing to him, and despite his trouble falling asleep before, he was having an easier time now. Too bad then that the eggs were deciding to hatch now. At the first crack, Sevrin was still oblivious. However, as the second and third one started to he opened one eye and groaned. Really, now of all times? He sighed and pushed himself up, the more he woke the more it started to get to him. They were hatching finally, and as to be expected the one who he had gotten them from, the same girl who had been helping to look after him, came traepsing through the door.
He sighed, rolling his eyes and moving a hand through his hair. "Hey Sim. Looks like they are, thanks for the food." He looked at the eggs again, a smile working its way to his lips whether he wanted it to or not. In this case, he didn't mind so much. Moving the little pot from the embers he sat on the floor and waited, his eyes intent on the two eggs inside. What would they hold? They weren't that small of specimens, especially one of them. Perhaps he'd even get a Bronze. Well...or not. He'd rather not that.
Ara had not expected to have received the gift from J'dol, although since she had given him one of Aries' eggs it perhaps was to be expected. It was nice either way, and she had been spending her days taking care of the little firelizard egg. To be honest she also used it as an excuse to stay in his weyr for a while. Meanwhile, it also took her mind off of Avirith's pending flight. It would happen sooner or later, only a few days more to be exact, but she still didn't know that then.
The egg cracked slightly, a line appearing on the shell as she smiled at it. Her toes curled, her fingers tracing the edge of the bowl with meat in it. Aries hummed nearby, singing for the little one to enter into the world. It didn't even matter that she had not laid this egg, it was still Hers in the Queen's mind.

Deep in the Candidate's barracks a little bit of a commotion was going on as the weather turned outside. Linda couldn't care though, she was inside and it seemed the egg would hatch here soon. The Huntyre egg she got, which was before her unplanned little albino forest Felli showed up, was nice and snug nearby. Warm as much as Linda could get close enough to its actual, hopefully, natural type. She wanted to have it hatch healthy enough because well she had promised Felli it would be a companion to her. Hana, her gold Fire Lizard warbled softly as she stayed on Linda's shoulder a bit. She watched as Linda set up the food, meat and non meat, cooked and non cooked. Linda didn't really know what they ate or how their hatches really went all that well so she couldn't help but be fully prepared.
Rorce, the garnet Fire Lizard, just snorted a bit as he found himself a perch on the highest part of the room to watch down on everyone that was below him. Cad, Jo, Jak, and Renae however were all situated on Linda's bed as they watched. Their brown, blue, and green hides glistened along with the gold and garnet from a recent oiling. But their humming started to emerge from their throats as one by one they tried to get a better look. Felli on the other hand was in one of Linda's pockets with her fuzzy head poked out, softly she chirped as she wondered what was going on and why they weren't asleep yet.
Linda smiled as she heard the humming, she felt Hana's humming near her ear and it of course felt a little odd as she knelt down next to her Huntyre egg. Quickly she got everything as ready as she ever could, and the egg situated carefully enough that the newborn wouldn't get hurt on anything sharp or too scorching. "... It's okay little one, we are here to welcome you into our family with open arms. You will be alright and happy." The tenderness in her voice, face, and body so different then anything she had shown anyone but her Fire Lizards and Huntyre could confuse someone as to who she was. But she didn't care as her attention was full on this one....

B'den had never tended eggs on his own before, and he was a little worried as the days and weeks dragged on with no change, but he kept a close eye on the flit and huntyre eggs nonetheless. Finally, it happened, and the two eggs nestled away in their pots within his weyr were finally beginning to hatch. The greenrider had been spending much of his free time inside his weyr so he could keep an eye on them, and it didn't take him long to fetch some meat for their first meal.
He called Kohenkyoth, "They're hatching!" though the green only snorted in disinterest. B'den didn't let his dragon's lack of enthusiasm bother him, though, and he turned his attention back to the two eggs in front of him.
----------------------------------------
R'hard had also kept an eye on his own egg, though he was not quite as concerned about it. Sahar had quickly taken the new egg under her wing, treating it as if it were one of her own. While the green flit was not as attentive as a queen would have been, she was a great help to R'hard, and she came to find him as soon as it had begun to rock.
He was already near the kitchens, fortunately, so it didn't take long for R'hard to realize what was happening, and he was soon on his way back to his weyr with food in hand. He regarded the small egg in its heated pot, wondering what would emerge. He'd gotten one of the smaller eggs and was expecting perhaps a green or blue, perhaps even an amethyst.

Fari squawked loudly, wings flapping, feathers flying as she hopped up from her makeshift nest. Her mothering instinct had kicked in the moment U'wa had put the egg down, and she had immediately taken to it as if it were her own. She kenw it wasn't, she knew it belonged to some other female, but that would never stop her from loving an egg all the same. Now though, now it was wobbling and cracking and Hers needed to be here!
U'wa was quick to rise, yawning loudly and wondering what had woken him until Peniath's excited voice cut through his sleepy mind, The egg! Fari thinks it's hatching! GO GO GO GO GO GO GO! No doubt she was shaking in excitement. U'wa hopped up, grinning from ear to ear as he pulled out a few chunks of dried meat; kept tucked away for such an emergency.
"Your new little brother or sister is coming soon Fari... come here, give it some space."
Nymari had not been woken from sleep, despite the ungodly hour of the night. She couldn't sleep, through whether it was from worry, or thoughts of her forest encounter, Nym couldn't decide. Either way, she had found herself grabbing a small plate of leftover food when she felt the egg shift against her leg. Looking down at the pouch she smiled softly and moved to the table, placing her plate haphazardly before reaching down for the egg.
It wasn't wobbling too strongly yet, but there was no doubt it was trying to hatch. She kept it in her lap, not wanting it to accidentally roll off, and reach for something to nibble on while she waited.
Spazz was excited - moreso than usual anyways. Whirling and zipping above Ara's head, it was his chirps and squeals of happiness that woke J'dol. Blinking in confusion, it took a moment to realize what was going on, but as the unmistakeable sounds of humming came from not only Spazz, but the strange new blue, J'dol knew it was time for the egg to hatch.
He sat up slowly, the blanket sliding from his bare chest as he leaned to wrap his arms around Ara. With a sleepy sigh, he rested his chin on her shoulder and glanced down at the egg. "It's time huh... how exciting." With a rather forceful command, J'dol forced Spazz out of the room, demanding he return with a few meatrolls from the kitchens. The blue was hard to handle, but with force could follow most commands. Before long he had returned, dropping the food on Ara's lap before returning to his crazy aerial spirals.

Sevrin's eggs rocked and shook and cracked quickly... though one beat the other in its race to freedom... but it was the larger of the two who would win, releasing an orange flitter with lightning-like lighter orange markings on her hide. She hissed and turned to Sevrin, flinging herself at him. This was HERS! And he would do what she said! She hissed and looked at the other flitters - Simiia's fair - who were flying about the room. NO! None of them could ahve hers! Hers was hers! They would not touch him! She hissed at them and attempted to look intimidating... but... Fod... she needed food. Her own eggs seemed to be taking their time at the moment... though they were sure to hatch soon...
Linda's egg shook and shook... eventually a fuzzy silvery-wing poked out of one side, flailing about and sending the egg tumbling about with what sounded like a muffled startled squawk from within. But the baby seeme to be distracted from the opening in the egg as the wing dissapeared and the egg went still for a moment... only to start moving again... then stop and repeat the process until the egg simply... shook apart and the baby huntyre rolled about trying to right himself... which took a moment. He looked down at himself and gave a little cheap of annoyance. It didn't feel good! Sticky stuff and things sticking to him! He didn't like it. He took an unsteady step toward the bed where Linda's little fair was and gave a squeak before turning back and looking up at Linda, running for her... only to trip and fall right in front of her, but he sent the feelings of hunger that told her what he wanted. But! OH! What a big world! He wanted to look around... oh... but food... oh! HIS! he should let his know he loved her! Oh! flitters. he wondered what they were like. He should meet them! Aela joined the rest of the group to Hatch the eggs. She saw R'hard and flashed him a smile. This was the last thing she was doing before she left. She wanted her friend to see the little critter that came out before she vanished again. It was dangerous for her to be here and she knew it, but Aela did what she could to anger those who are the wrongful leaders. The young woman was excited to see what the egg held. Another addition to the family was always something to look forward to. Was this creature nice? Evil? Well the only way to find out was to watch the egg Hatch and show the baby.
A bowl of meatrolls was at the ready so the baby could eat when it came out. At the moment Aela felt she liked danger. It made everything all the more exciting than it normally was. A silent giggled escaped her and her eyes twinkled merrily. Only R'hard knew she was there and she hoped it would stay that way.

The eggs were closer to hatching, of that he was certain. They were filled with cracks now, and no matter how much they rocked, it would only take a few more for them to be free. Sevrin was entirely ignorant of everything around him but the two eggs, that's how focused he had become. When the larger of the two finally hatched, he froze where he sat with his mouth open.
"You've got to be kidding me." The Topaz chirped at him, upset that he didn't like her. After all, everyone LOVED her! He should too! When Sevrin still hadn't done anything though the firelizard nipped his fingers, shrieking unhappily. Feed ME! The thought echoed inside his head, and he finally sighed and shook his head. "Fine, food, here." He reached over and took some meat and gave it to her. Instantly, she demanded more and hissed when one of the firelizards in the trader's fair might have come too close. "Easy, I swear you're as bad as that Weyrwoman's Kayath!"
Well, that seemed to be a name. "Kaya...." The Topaz chirped. It was pretty enough for her!
Her egg had yet to hatch, but that wasn't a problem. Ara leaned into J'dol's arms more, making a happy sound in as he leaned his chin on her shoulder. "It'll hatch when it hatches...and you didn't need to send him love. I have food already, you were out cold." She laughed softly, taking one of the meatrolls and holding it out for him. "Eat."

Thaden couldn’t help but glance down at the pouch of warm sand that held the two eggs he had purchased from that lady in during the gather. One was large, the other small, which made him wonder just what might be hiding underneath the hard shells of the firelizard eggs. He had never had any pets before, and he wanted to make sure that they would be safe when they hatched. That was why he didn’t venture far from his room or the kitchens unless he had lessons or chores to do. He was a candidate after all, and his duties to the wher came first. But whenever he left he couldn’t help but to think of the safety of his two eggs first. That’s why he was more than happy, more than ecstatic when he first realized that his eggs were hatching and he was still safe inside of his room.
Thaden started to pace back and forth at the foot of his bed. Both of the eggs were now rocking and the blankets of his bed were carefully arranged around the two eggs in make-shift nests. He would have to remember to get rid of the pouch of sand after he fed his new family. That reminded him, he ran over to the little table beside the head of his bed and grabbed up the small bowl of meat he had gotten earlier that afternoon. It wasn’t exactly the most pleasant smell of all but he had a feeling the firelizard hatchlings wouldn’t mind the smell once they got a taste of the fresh-ish meat. He gulped then, feeling strangely nervous as he waited for the eggs to hatch and reveal what was hidden just beneath their hard shells. He started wondering if he would feel like this when he stood for a dragon’s clutch. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Skye rolled over and yawned tiredly, she didn’t want to be awake yet, but there was a strange noise coming from somewhere in her room that she couldn’t pinpoint just yet. What in Pern’s name is going on Kivith? The young woman rubbed her eyes as she sat up, and turned to face her green dragon. It is hatching Mine. That’s when she realized that the noise she was hearing was her dragon’s humming. She threw the covers off of herself and went to where she kept the small egg that she had bought from the Trelis gather. It was wrapped in warm blankets and sheets on the little dresser she had in the corner of her room near the doorway. Kivith was right, the little egg was rocking back and forth and she wondered how much longer until it would hatch.
(((OOC: Gotta talk to Zi and find out how Aridani got D'tri's egg to him, then I'll post for him.)))

Reina had just,JUST gotten inasuke and DoS ready for their nap when Haleth chuckled. Flashing a look back at the amethyst, she scowled. Hal was enjoying this. Here she was run ragged trying to keep up with her three year old and his flit along with weyrling lessons, and her amethyst was enjoying every frantic second. The fact that she was chuckling now didnt bode well. In a low voice she whispered, "What now Haleth?"
The amethist chuckled and tossed her head towards the pot of warm sands she'd kept on the coals with the egg inside. There was movement there now. Really? She'd just gotten to where she could finally sit down and relax and now there was a hatching? It figured.
With a sigh she scooped up the pot, settled it on the table and carefully took out the egg.
"Time to meet your newest little one, mine."

Hanako leaned against her wall looking out at the rain that covered the landscape. It was peaceful, calming in a way. Her thoughts had been returning more and more often to him. Today it was seeing him striding through the rain towards her with her colt. Would she ever be free of him?
Her shoulders slumped as she continued to think about the times when she'd truly been happy. It was crazy to feel this way she knew, there was nothing that could be done about it. She leaned her hand out the window and caught some of the fresh raindrops. It was soft, gentle, not too cold like some rainstorms were.
Her thoughts were interrupted by a rattling coming from the low fire she'd kept in her hearth to warm the sands for her eggs. Her eggs! the two flits must.... It must be time! Sad reverie forgotten she hovered almost worriedly over the eggs, scooping the pot off it's bar and settling it on one of the tables.
She had food All ready. In fact one would think she was a bit neurotic. she'd been getting fresh meat from the kitchens every day for the last two weeks. You never knew when these things were going to happen, but it looked like this would be the day!

J'dol yawned as Ara leaned into him. As of late the work had seemed to be piling up and sleep hadn't been coming often enough. He couldn't remember ever feeling so tired and it was takign him a long time to truly wake up. In fact, it wasn't until she mentioned not needing food that he noticed the bowl. Wow... he was losing his touch wasn't he.
"I wasn't out cold..." He mumbled, though no doubt he had been. "I was warm and cozy." Nonetheless, he stretch he neck and snapped up the meatroll, giving a mental thought to Spazz and Tipsy that they could have the meatrolls too if they wanted. Another yawn ripped through him and he nuzzled into her, planting a quick kiss on her neck before looking back at the egg, wondering what would come of it. That was when a strange shiver went down his spine. Was someone talking about him?
There was a shocking amount of noise coming from his egg. For a moment, U'wa felt panicked, thinking something was wrong! A calming, gentle nuzzle from Fari helped keep him calmer... if she wasn't freaking out then there was nothing wrong. It didn't take long for the cracks to spread across the shell, and before long a little orange puff was wriggling out of the shell.
Oh she was beautiful! Fari chirped her agreement, warbling a song down to the little one in return and for a few moments, U'wa and his Forest only watched and listened as the young sunset seemed to since and dance on her way to him. What a strange little lady she was! He reached out, nervously offering a small chunk of food, hoping she would accept it - and him.
She snatched it up and with a bop of her head and a catchy tune, demanded more; U'wa was too happy to comply. Before long, he was back on his bed, the small orange puff asleep in his arms. It seemed her noisy personality extended to the dream world as well. She snored quietly, or rather, seemed to whistle as she breathed. His new little family member, and a sister for Fari. There was little doubt the two huntyres would get along.
"What do you think of Alto?" He asked Fari quietly, not wanting to wake the hatchling who, at the mention of a name twitched lightly in her sleep. U'wa didn't know much of music, but he thought it was fitting anyways.

Ka'mond rolled out of his bed, groaning as he tumbled to the ground.
Get up KaMind!! The eggs are hatching!!
Abyrath's excitement was annoyingly loud and well exciting to the boy. "I'm up... I'm up.."
He mumbled, quickly awakening as he saw the eggs quivering. Star hummed and trilled a hatching song flitting and swooping as if performing. Her sounds increased as the eggs rocked.
This is fun. Hope its a worthwhile and safe hatching. Wouldn't it be fun to get a mutation?
Ka'mond yawned and agreed. He clumsily gathered cold meat rolls from his dinner leftovers, spilling gravy and such in the process. Then he prepared himself a cup of khal.
"Yes. It would Abyrath."
What an ungodly hour to hatch!!

One of the three eggs in Sim's pot started to shake fervently. IT was one of the flitters... She watched it with bated breath as she watched the egg spider web with cracks and eventually saw the little green which was pushing her way from the wreckage, squawking in irritation at the bits and pieces of shell still sticking to her. She didn't like it. she didn't like be sticking. Sticky was not pretty! Sticky was bad! Very bad. Coreena crooned slightly, only to be chittered at in agitation by the newcomer. Sim sighed and shook her head. "We'll call you Princess... because you are definitely a green little princess..." She rubbed her temples and watched the flitter as she stared at her, hunger pangs reverberating in her mind and she grabbed some food, which she fed to the flitt, getting bitten in the process as she snapped up the food rather quickly. She frowned. Faranth. that wall she needed - another dominate little green. Personality: Determined, prideful, arrogant, perfectionist, despises clutter, wants to be clean, princess. Believes she is the queen of the world. Will want male dragons to chae her in her flights as well as flitters.
A small sound could be heard coming from Alyara's egg, a chittering and scrabbling... before finally two little claws poked out and flailed about... these were soon followed by wings, a head, and two back feet.... and a tail... but the little blue could not break the shell from his body for a long moment... until he tumbled backward with a squeak and tried to write himself, which he did eventually and began to cry piteously. He looked around him, still crying, his eyes fixating on Aries and he squeeked. Oh no! A pretty gold was seeing him being a big baby! He ducked his head then launched himself at Ara and attempted to hide in her shirt, sending feeligns of hunger to her. Constantly causes drama, a mama's boy. Clumsy. Gets into trouble often, lieks to explore, but the moment he messes up or gets hurt, he will come crying to His and want comfort immediately.
The first of B'den's eggs to show the greatest signs of hathcing was a flitter egg with a mustard colored shell that seemed to have a a mettallic sheen to it. It rocked right into the other egg and started it to cracking.... and yet it beat the huntyre in the race... hatching to reveal... a small gold who cheeped and looked around. She crooned and looked at B'den for a long moment... before flinging herself at him and crawling up to rest around his neck, cheeping sheepishly and asking for food. She tried to hide from the eyes of the dragon in the room, feeling quite sheepish. Personality: Shy, gentle, loving, protective, motherly, doesn't like to be stared at, hates being ignored by hers for any length of time, demanding about anything she needs, constantly wanting to comfort and look after Hers.

She smiled as J'dol reached over to bite at the meatrol, feigning a frown and licking her fingers as if he had bitten her. "You were out of it. I was warm and cozy." She teased him, leaning into his kiss before the egg started to get into the mode of hatching for real. Ara's head snapped around, her attention entirely on the firelizard now as a wing and tail popped out showing a blue.
"Oh look, yours have a friend now." Her lips tugged up at the corners into a smile as the firelizard cheeped upon seeing Aries, who chittered back amused as the blue dove under Ara's shirt. "Ummr....okay then." He was hungry though, so they had bonded. He's such a Hatchling. Avirith's comment echoed in her rider's head, most likely J'dol's as well making Ara chuckle. "Yes, he is a little Baby."
Poking his nose out from her shirt he sniffed at the bowl, opening his jaws for a piece without actually revealing himself. "No, come out all the way....there you go little one. Come on now...." She lured him out and onto her leg with the strip of meat, glaring at Aries when the Gold moved forward to snap of the offering herself. Again the Blue chirped, freezing up. Oh no, he wasn't doing this right, the Queen should have his food if she wanted it. He wasn't a baby, he was a big strong firelizard!
The blue puffed up his chest, falling onto his side in a flurry of wings as his balance was thrown off.

The larger of B'den's two eggs was the first to hatch. He'd bought it assuming it would hatch a bronze, or perhaps even a topaz, but he recieved quite a shock when a bright, albeit small, gold hatchling crawled out of the shell. The greenrider's jaw dropped in shock. "Sharding...Kohenkyoth, it's a gold!" he told the dragon with a laugh.
Yes, B'den, I can see that, Kohenkyoth said dryly. She regarded the little queen with some interest. She didn't particularly care for fire lizards and was certainly not the type to be jealous of a higher rank, even if it was just a flitter, but she had to admit a gold had its uses. They'd have clutches to sell in a few turns, if nothing else.
B'den wasn't thinking so much of the future, just the hungry hatchling in front of him. The little gold seemed to dislike Kohenkyoth's eyes on her, and she crooned at B'den before suddenly leaping onto his shirt and climbing up to curl herself around his neck. Only then, with something between her and Kohenkyoth, did the flit cheep sheepishly, asking for food. B'den smiled at her reassuringly and held out a piece of meat to her, thinking of a name while she ate. "How does the name Dione sound?"
Dione chirped curiously at him before going back to her meal, and that seemed to settle the matter.
