Linda started to grumble softly and mutter to herself, she was not a happy camper because she just did something she was going to get tormented with. In her hand held a fur lined hide filled with soft sand and a large Fire Lizard egg within.... As payment for that Dress that Firo... well F'ro had been making for her... But that blasted boy had to go IMPRESS of all things and move to another place so she couldn't just get it, give her payment, and go. And there was no way she would approach him in public and let OTHERS know that he made and gave her a dress...
Linda's eye twitched a bit as she placed a hand over her chest as she felt a sharp pain. Ever since the hatching it had been getting worse and Linda didn't like it... of course the other healers didn't know what it could be besides her body having something wrong with it... But it didn't do anything bad just a dull ache sometimes. Quickly she shoved it out of her mind as she tried to ignore it and walked amongst the Weyrling Area. "F'ro... shardin brown rider... where is he at now..."
Of course Hana and Erani were on either shoulder of hers, while the rest of her fair just flew around behind her. Her two Huntyres an albino forest and a lunar were actually with her as well as they flew about. Linda was finally able to take them with her for long periods of time because they had enough stamina to fly that long. Growing rather well, she just gave a little smile before it turned back into a scowl and started to look around again.

F'ro smiled, a surprisingly gentle and loving gesture as he looked down at his dragon's head which had, at some point, moved to his lap. In the short time that F'ro had been impressed, he already felt like Apperointh had been with him forever. The bond was so much mroe than he had ever expected; of course he had never felt the bond of a mind on his, having avoided firelizards and whers, but he had been spoken to by Syphraelth enough to think the bond would be similar to that. He was so wrong, but he had never been happier to be corrected.
He reached out to scratch an eye ridge, snorting to himself in amusement as the dragon woke enough to press love at him before dozing back out. In a way, it was weird to listen to the brown harp about hardwork all day only to watch him sleep most of the day away. He supposed the dragon was simply too young to dedicate the necessary time to his hard work. With a sigh, F'ro closed his eyes, fully intent on catching a quick nap of his own, when an all too familiar grumbling reached his ears.
"Awww, is that the dragonless wonder I hear? I knew you liked me, always seeking me out." He grinned, calling loud enough for her to know he was just around the corner. "Should I be calling you sweetheart now?" Well, he was in a good mood, after all it was hard to be grumpy with such a happy dragon in your mind.

Linda just rolled her eyes as she heard that sarcastic egotistical vain voice that she knew oh so well. There he was at least around the corner with his usual quips and quirks. "Stop dreaming, I am here to give payment for the dress and pick it up mister impress and move where you live." She tried to sound sarcastic but she just wasn't really feeling up to it so it was only half hearted. She however wasn't thinking his Dragon would be there as she went around the corner and then stopped.
A little gentle smile crossed her face as she saw the little one, only to turn into a scowl once she turned towards F'ro "Well Firo here is your payment, got you a fire lizard egg... Don't think it is going to hatch anytime soon so you can sell it if you want or keep it. I got the Largest egg I could find though so could even be a queen possibly. Figured that might help with the costs of that Dress right?" Quickly she held out the fur lined bag with a slight frown on her face, with this she could finish her debt with him and wash her hands of him right? They had nothing more to really have anything to do with since he had a Dragon now and she was a Candidate...
Well yeah she was a Healer, and probably wouldn't be the last time she saw him but now they wouldn't run into each other several times a sevenday. And that should help her just continue on with her life and deal with her own things. In a way this was a good thing, and a good reason for her to not have impressed yet. If she had the first clutch even she would have had to deal with him more right? Linda didn't really know, she was so confused but this was a good thing... yes it was.

"Oooh I'm sorry I moved from one Barracks to the other, I bet it was terribly difficult to find me, since you clearly didn't want to. How much effort did you put in, I'm dying to know." He couldn't help but notice her heart didn't seem to be into their little game this time though, and while he gave a fair shot at filling his own voice with a condescending tone, it wasn't as strong as it could be.
He quirked an eyebrow at the offered egg bag, for a moment hesitating at taking it. Why did it seem like she was trying to buy freedom from him, rather than just the dress, it made him hesitate. If he grabbed that bag, and accepted it (for while he didn't particularly care to get himself a firelizard, he couldn't deny it was nice of her to pay him back for what was, technically, a free dress) did that mean she'd have no reason to track him down? The thought didn't quite sit right with him, and he shook his head. He didn't want her around, she was annoying and stubborn and... He felt Apperointh stir, and glanced at the brown in time to see his eyes move over Linda. Oh.. F'roMine, is this the woman that is always on your mind?
Firogel stiffened as he realized the brown had spoken for Linda to hear as well. He could feel the dragon's thoughts about working harder when it came to her, but he tried to shove the idea aside. There was a look of horror on his face as he turned away to hide the fact he was mildly redder than he would ever care to admit.
"She is not! I have better things to think about than some girl. It's only because she's always following me!" His arguments were weak, but it was the best he could do. He wasn't used to anyone having access to his mind like that, and it caught him completely off guard. Grimacing, he reached out and snatched the bag. "Yeah yeah, this is plenty good thanks. All even or whatever." It was rather clear he was flustered.

Linda merely rolled her eyes as he spoke up about how terribly difficult it must have been to find him.. True she didn't put MUCH energy into it, but she wasn't expecting him to move so fast so she just kind of put it off. Linda just raised her hand to merely brush it off as she moved some of her hair behind her ear. Yes with this and her having the dress things should be hunky dory and she could go back to her silent existence ignoring most of the humans in this Weyr.
Of course she didn't realize what was going on through his head, which was a kind of battle pretty much like she had herself recently. But she just didn't want to deal with it anymore, it was annoying and all these touchy feelins were just distracting her. However suddenly she heard the brown's voice fill her head, and the telltale gentle smile that was directed to Dragons and their kin swept across her face... Well that was until the words sunk into her mind and she just started to scowl again.
"Apperointh I think you might be mistaken about that, only time he would think of me is to try to mock me or try to destroy my good mood. Think of it as a game for him and I am apparently a toy that he wants to break." Linda just shrugged, she didn't care if it was the truth or not but maybe it would help chase the nice brown and his ... oddly cute... no that frustrating rider of his!!!!
Linda just looked away from F'ro though, she had seen the look of horror on his face too... That look made her not even really notice the red tint either as it just made her frown a bit more. Gently she placed a hand on her chest again as the pain returned and just gave a little sigh. "See I was right, no worries I won't be bothering either of you again so you won't have to have some annoying girl follow you around anymore. And you Apperointh you grow well alright?" With a little not towards F'ro, and him saying it was plenty fine, she just kind of turned around and started to walk away.

Part of him wanted to retort, to argue that he thought of her at other times too, but that would be admitting something too personal, it was simply out of the question. Instead he merely bit his tongue and tried to pretend that she had guessed right. Of course it was partially correct; he did think of their interactions as a game, and he liked mocking her, but... she enjoyed it too, didn't she? She had just as much fun mocking and annoying him as he did to her? Why was he even thinking about such stupid things?!
"Don't you know you should at least introduce yourself properly to my dragon?" He blurted out, well aware that she he;d a special fondness for dragons. Maybe if he distracted her he could get things under his control again; that would be nice. The brown merely regarded them both, wondering at the sudden shift in his rider. A shift which only grew as Linda turned to leave. Panicking in a way he didn't quite know how to deal with, F'ro blurted out the first thing he could think of.
"If its not a queen you still owe me." What was he doing!? He mentally screamed at himself. He hated this manly girl! Girls were supposed to be sweet and submissive, bowing to his every need, doing what he said, not fighting every step of the way! He shifted. "If it's anything less than a gold then you still owe me for the physical labour. That's... You'll be my sparring partner every morning until you Impress." There! She wouldn't notice he was loathe to see their 'fighting' come to an end if he covered it up with something physical, right? Why did the stupid girl have to go and be such a good rival!

Linda of course did like their little games, but right now she had something else that was weighing in her mind. And that was this pain in her chest that just seems to be getting worse lately. This is why she couldn't enjoy it, and it was making her frustrated and more annoyed and she just didn't want to deal with it right now... But it seemed he wasn't be as bad as he could so maybe he noticed? No he couldn't possibly notice, at least she hoped he didn't she didn't want to have to explain it to him. That was the last thing she needed, his sympathy that it might be something bad that she couldn't impress anymore.
Oh yeah... she didn't introduce her to the brown, though she just kind of figured F'ro would have talked about her or he would have known that way but yes she still should. Slowly she turned around and gave a little sigh, only to smile as she walked over towards the brown and gave a bow... yes a bow not a curtsey. "I am terribly sorry for my actions and did not mean any disrespect Apperointh. I shouldn't have presumed that your rider would have informed you about me. My name is Linda a healer and candidate." Yes that was a good enough thing right, a gentle smile was upon her face as she looked towards the brown. It was the only way humans got to see her nice side, with Dragons or Fire Lizards it seemed.
Linda though just stood there as she listened to him speak that if wasn't a queen she still owed him. A frown went over her face, was a dress like that really that expensive? Anything less then a Gold? Less then Hana? that was expensive in materials then his own time... Wow maybe she should have gotten him a second egg or something it would have been so much easier. The pain in her chest seemed to lessen a little bit though but was still there and she just gave a little sigh and placed a hand on her chest again... She should probably inform him of this condition then since he wanted to spar with her...
"Very well, but I will have to inform you that because of a pain in my chest I may or may not be able to keep to that schedule. It depends on what the other healers say, and I don't know if I will ever impress or able to now so how about until you become a full Dragonrider? That way if I do miss a few sessions I still pay you back well enough?" Her face had been wiped of emotions as she spoke, as she tried her best to be impartial and just unemotional as she looked at him. Her feelings stuffed and locked away as she felt a bit better without it. Though that pain was still there she just tried to ignore it.

Apperointh dipped his head in return, pleased that she was putting forth such effort to great him. It wasn't that he felt he was particularly worthy of being greeted in such a way, but he simply approved of her willingness to improve herself. F'roMine has told me many things of you. It is a pleasure to put a face to his words. He reached out to nuzzle her curiously, as F'ro himself continued adamantly avoiding looking at Linda. Despite his avoidance of her eyes, he couldn't help but notice she was clutching at her chest again. Her words, made him scowl and, now that Apperointh had lifted his head, F'ro stood and moved to stand in front of her, pleased that he was able to look down on her.
"You're a stubborn twat of a girl, you won't back down to anything, not even common sense, but you'll let a little injury stop you from fighting?" He scoffed, as if about to laugh at her. "Oh I get it, now that I've Impressed a dragon you've finally realized how superior I am. It's alright to be afraid." Apperointh snorted, reprimanding his rider for being so rude. He should be trying hard to ensure she was alright, not causing more trouble.
"Fine. What's wrong with you? And if you say something stupid like homesickness or being heartbroken or some girly crap like that I'll beat you to a pulp right here." He put his hands on his hips as he stared her down, trying to get a rise out of her. "Fine, until I'm a dragonrider. I look forward to pinning you every morning."

Linda couldn't help it, one of her weaknesses were the Dragons and Fire lizards and of course exploit her that way... But she didn't mind, she got to meet Apperointh who seemed to be much more civil and nice then his rider. So F'ro had talked about her? Well she just frowned a little bit and slowly reached out to try to gently scratch his eye ridges when he reached out to nuzzle her. "I bet most of it wasn't good, but I just hate most humans don't worry I don't do anything to Dragons."
But seriously F'ro was trying to pick a fight with her now, she just frowned and placed her hands on her hips. Not backing down as she stares up at him... wait when did that happen!!! She was taller then him shard it all!!! Darn he must be having one of those growth spurts kids have.... mrrrrr "I am doing nothing of the sort!!! Merely informing you if I don't show up and the healers won't let me spar that is the case. I just didn't want to suddenly pull it on you and not show up to spar and make you think I was running away without paying off my debt!! And you would only be superior if you acted like it, not being such a childish jerk all the time!"
Linda had had it now, she was starting to get furious, she was trying to be civil and all. Trying to repay the debt even when he didn't say how much it costed... And tried to inform him of anything that might hinder the payment he thought up as well and this is how she got repaid!!! She tried to prod his chest as she just glared up at him. "We do not know what is going on. It might be heart attacks or failure or some other organ having problems for all we know. But how dare you, here I am trying to repay you even though you would never tell me how much it costed. Trying to go along with what else you said would be payment."
"I even informed you of anything that might come up that could interrupt said payment because I was trying to make sure you knew everything beforehand just incase. Or if the worst thing comes to worst and I end up dead over this you know what might have happened and not just me vanish without informing you!! As if it would ever keep me from doing what I want or Faranth forbid in your awful little mind that I am a coward or weakling and just don't want to do this!! You are a Dragon Rider now F'ro, and the way your acting is immature and childish and you of all people should know better what is expected of riders and how to act. So I suggest you start or you might shame your poor Apperointh!!"

How strange. With the way Mine spoke of you I expected much more confidence. He said you were dependab- "Apperointh!" F'ro hissed, embarrassed at how willing to share secrets the brown was. Rumbling in amusement, the brown quieted and instead pressed into the woman's scratches. Of course F'ro had said bad things about Linda, but Apperointh had full access to his mind; the dragon knew that below his insults was all sorts of compliments. Words on how dependable she was, how willing to learn she could be despite how difficult she acted at times. They were secrets, deep within the young man's mind.
He had to admit there was a strange thrill in being taller than Linda, in finally able to be the one looking down, if only because he felt it gave him a small sense of power. Her little tirade had quite the different effect though. On the one hand, he couldn't help but give a little grin of amusement. He was surprised she cared enough to want him to know that she wasn't running away, and the thought was oddly endearing. On the other hand, there were so many insults thrown his way that he couldn't quite ignore them all. She is correct, F'roMine. You must work hard at setting a good example for riders. The brown's words in his head, still so fresh and new, surprised him and distracted him from his focus which, he realized with a bit of embarrassment, had been her lips. There was something wrong with him, certainly.
"That's more like it..." He mumbled, still staring at her lips as he spoke, not even realizing how close he had gotten. Nor did he realize that he was the lightest hint of red as he continued leaning closer. "I was worried you were going soft." It was good to see she would still argue with him. He had been truly worried that not impressing had crushed her spirit or something equally pathetic. "It doesn't matter how I act around you, idiot. You know what I am like, you would just try to tear me down for acting. Or is that what you want? Want me to call you M'lady and act all stoic? Or do you want someone who will match you punch for punch?" He felt oddly calm as he gave his retort. He found his own questions were worrying. Did he really care what she wanted?
"Just don't go dying on me, Linda."

Linda turned a little red on her own cheeks as she heard Apperointh speak up in her head. Well maybe he just liked the way that she kept him on his toes which was mutual... Yeah that might be it, since he hated women period especially the weak ones always calling them weak and stuff... Well then it was good in a sense, at least he didn't always think poorly of her which made things better with their little tiffs After her tirade though she couldn't help but look up at him... and that is really when it hit her that he was taller then her.
Oh and there was his grin again, a scowl went across her face again as she just glared at him. He was grinning just because he found her little lecture girly probably or something. A little bit pursed with how annoyed she was but a little tweak at the edges of her lips couldn't hide the fact she was almost smiling a bit too. At least he hadn't changed too much since he became a weyrling which was good too. He was already taller then her now if he had changed completely she woulda had to smack him till he reverted or something.
Linda however raised her eyebrows in a bit of curious suprise as she heard him mumble. At first she couldn't understand or hear really what he was saying... and the fact he wasn't really staring at her in the eyes was getting annoying too in a weird way. "Seriously? I am not going soft, I just didn't really feel like getting into a huge fight with you right now. Especially while your Dragon is still young, I do not want to cause permanent harm to him. I don't care if you think I am cold hearted, but I try to be nice when it comes to Dragons. Or was it that you thought I'd be pathetic about not impressing? Didn't I tell you after last hatching that I don't care if I impress or not. Just means either my dragon was there or I am not going to have one and I am fine with that. It would be an honor yes but frankly because of who I am I wouldn't be surprised if no Dragon wanted me."
Oh dear Faranth he was going on with that M'lady crap again, oddly enough though his concern... Even being thrown out with a few daggers, did make her feel a little better. The pain in her chest now wasn't that bad and maybe it showed in how ready she was to lash out again. "Yes I know what you are like, and yes I would tear you down for acting... ugh don't call me that... And what I meant is you need to work on it, though I must admit it is nice having someone around who doesn't cower and actually tries to fight back.... even though it is done so poorly sometimes."
But Linda just gave a little shrug before placing her hands on her hips again at his comment of not dying.... and then he said her name... Was that the first time he ever said her name? From what she could recall yes, and she could feel her face grow warm as her cheeks started to turn red. Quickly she looked away from him with a scowl on her face. "Come on, I'm too stubborn to die you should know that. Not even my parents could kill me as a kid, large felines either... You think I would just roll over and take it now?"

"See? Acting the part would be a futile waste of time with someone like you, so I'll save myself the effort. Besides, we both know I'm much more pleasant as I am. M'ladies and thank yous don't suit me." She was giving him attitude now. F'ro wasn't sure whether to be pleased or not. On the one hand, he much preferred seeing her act like herself, so he was glad she was giving attitude. But on the other, he still firmly believed that the damn woman should be submitting to him. It was frustrating, trying to figure out what it was he wanted. He blinked in surprise as she blushed and looked away. What had he said that had caused that? Lifting his hand, he moved to cup her cheek and force her to look at him.
"I know I'm charming girl, but you better not be falling for me." He smirked, well aware that he had probably just caught her off guard with his little slip up, with the little hint that he cared at all. All too soon she would make a retort and the blush would go away and they would be back to normal... right? He found himself watching intently, almost nervously, as if her actions mattered. He found his eyes drawn to her lips again. What would it be like to kiss her sober? Reddening he shoved the thought aside and stared at her eyes instead, trying to clear his mind of all the stupid thoughts he was having.
It must have been his dragon. He had already learned Apperointh was an affectionate fellow, it was because he was feeling the love from his dragon that he was having such strange thoughts about Linda. That was the only explanation. Pleased with his newfound 'understanding' he let his smirk return.
"I'm well aware. Just as you are too stubborn to let a little pain stop you from seeking me out so we can dance our little dance. You better practice girl, if you hope to stand a chance."

Linda snorted and then rolled her eyes, it was true that it didn't suit him but he is pleasant as he is? "I guess you could say that in a way... though pleasant I highly doubt it. More like a dagger pressed at your back ready to strike when you let your guard down." Her voice went into a mumble though so she didn't really know if he heard or fully or not. But yes it did catch her in surprise when he reached up to force her to look at him. Her face still red and even grew a little bit at his touch, she couldn't seem to help it but... yes it must be just because she is so embarrassed that had to be it. She just glared up at him as he finally looked up into her eyes, where did he keep looking at? Her lips? Why did he think she would grow fangs to tear out his throat or something?
"A.. a... as if... ju... ju... just got a bit embarrassed is all alright? hearing you show some concern seriously... thinking I am so weak as another girl." Then she tried to retreat from his touch as she just got even redder with a stutter in her words, and try to turn her back to him so he couldn't see her face anymore. "And I'll say the same to you, I would think you would like me not at 100% just so you could finally beat me."
"I don't need to practice, you will be too since your going to be busy enough anyways. Wouldn't do for you to show up all bruised and bandaged to your lessons with your father right?" Yes change of subject, that she could do as Linda felt something odd stirring inside of her again. No it just had to be that pain and whatever was causing it freak out now because she was so tense and frustrated and stressed. Yes that must be it, stress... stress from having to deal with so much lately and people who just wouldn't leave her alone!!

"I can't deny I like the sound of that." He almost chuckled to himself. A dagger pressed at her back huh. Well, did that mean she saw him as a threat of some sort, or simply an annoyance. Knowing her, she'd claim he was just an annoyance. The thought bothered him. He was just as skilled as she was, moreso of course, yet she wouldn't admit his superiority. It frustrated him to no end! Oh, but then she was looking at him and stuttering and being all too girly! It caught F'ro completely off guard and allowed her to back away easily.
"I didn't even think you knew how to get embarassed." He shot back, wondering if maybe she really was ill. He had thought it just a ploy to avoid him, but clearly something was amiss. "Are you sure its just some pain? You're being terribly strange today, and while it amuses me to no end it simply wont do for my rival to be acting like... like such a girl." Well, did he just imply that he preferred Linda being herself to acting like a girl? He shook his head at the notion, confusing himself. "Of course I want you at 100% you twat. It's too easy to beat you when I have an advantage, and I'm rather fond of pounding you into the ground when you actually attempt to put up a fight. Well, if you could call your flailing fighting." He rolled his shoulders, his stance more confident now that he had nothing to distract him.
"Ah, you forget I'll be spending my days dueling in class. With the way father runs things I'll be bruised anyways, a couple more from you will hardly damper my training." He sighed, wondering once again why he was acting like such an idiot, earning only a rumble of amusement from his partner, and decided to sit back down. "I suppose if you don't want to spar with me we could find some other way for you to repay me. Servitude for life perhaps? Or something silly?"

Linda just gave another snort, she of course believed that he liked the sound of that. Meant he was at least getting under her skin of course and causing her all sorts of problems. Thankfully now her back was to him so she could start to get in control of herself. Seriously why was she doing this ugh, she was acting the Wherry apparently and he was the Dragon... She had to change this. "Of course I know how to get embarrassed idiot, everyone does at one point in time. Also if you haven't noticed, yes I AM a girl, just because I got fangs instead of a fan doesn't mean I am a male of some sort." Linda just snapped back, still not looking at him but her redness of her face was slowly going away at least.
His rival though? Did he actually think more highly of her then what she had been thinking? It was odd though, in a strange way she felt like if she was in a terrible mood just going to him would somehow fix it... Well not in the usual sense as those silly little twits would do, but he'd push her buttons till she became herself again. "Then you know how I feel when I like to spar you and win without an advantage as well. And your the one who freaked out and couldn't do anything against those smaller felines if I recall." Linda turned around to look at him with a smirk, she had thankfully gotten herself under control and the redness was barely a tint on her cheeks.
"Ugh though.... maybe I should give you some numbweed or something so you can use it before bed so you can be 100 percent in the morning... I start my training at pretty much the same time I came that one morning by the way... you sure your up for that hmm?" Oh but then he started to speak about some other payments and she just rolled her eyes. "No dress is worth that, if that would be the case I would just return it. I don't mind the spars, why do you think I don't want to spar huh? I wanna see if you can actually get better or if you are all talk."
