Oh Linda was having so much fun, he couldn't put up much of a fight and she found button after button to press. Sure she might regret it in the future when he might get the upper hand... but whomever said he WOULD get the upper hand at least any time soon? The grin stayed on her face as she listened to him flail around and his voice sounded oddly cute in a stuttery kind of way. Nevermind he didn't seem to understand that she was moving after she talked so he was apparently not hitting her... or just hitting random places... Seriously he needed to work on fighting without his eyesight sometime.
"Oh you actually think I was doing that because I wanted to fawn on you? Silly little boy I was doing it just to mess with you. I learned from the best to push your buttons." Linda frowned a bit, she didn't even mean to snap a bit like that it was just... When he said he liked seeing her as a proper woman and all that stuff she just felt a rage and her mouth ran away without her. But she kept moving so he couldn't get her at least but she needed to end this now. "Awwww does little F'ro need light to actually fight? and here I thought you were supposed to be a good fighter." Linda just lashed out, no idea why she was so angry or anything just... she couldn't seem to control her words right now.
Quickly she sat on F'ro's back as he fell down forward, hopefully he didn't hit his head. But right now she wasn't thinking of anything like that, she was actually out to cause him a little pain now. She made sure to hold both arms behind him so he couldn't do much. "Well looks like I win this time hmmm? Want to go again or are you done for the day weakling." She spat out, but then immediately bit her bottom lip. What the shards she had to reign in her anger or else Hana would show up with the rest and attack him. Quickly she took a few deep breathes as she tried to calm down.

When she shot him down... well F'ro couldn't deny that it hurt. Why, he couldn't quite say, but the confirmation that she had truly been trying to mess with him hurt. What was wrong with him today! He had never been so easily defeated and embarassed like this before! "No I don't need light!" He shot back, the annoyance clear in his voice. He decided not to reply to her button comment at all, having the feeling his voice would somehow betray him.
He groaned as she sat on him, and gave a few experimental shifts to test how easy it would be to escape. She had him pinned pretty good though, shardign wench! He was about to retort, make some joke about just letting her think she had won, but he knew a clear defeat when he saw it. "You win this time, fine, but don't let it go to your head. I'll still kick your ass!" He growled before giving a solid attempt to roll over, which only resulted in him looking up at her as she continued to pin him. At least he had the use of his arms though. He glared up at the silhouette of her that he could see, taking his own calming breaths.
There was no way he was just going to give up, but without even trying he knew she'd have him beat no matter how many rounds they went. She clearly had knowledge in night sparring, where he had none. He shifted uncomfortably, not because the position was uncomfortable (in truth the sight was bringing back flashes of an all too recent dream that he in no way wanted to admit to having). No, he shifted because he knew he was beat, and he knew he needed to say what he was about to say, even if he really, really didn't want to.
"Tell me how you did it." He demanded. He couldnt bring himself to ask nicely, it was simply too embarassing. However, he needed to know how she had kept him from knowing where she was, and how she had had such an easy time hitting her target every time. He stubbornly looked to the side as he spoke, his hands moving to rest on her legs.

Linda just sat there on him as she kept trying to keep calm, to the point of not even responding to most of his. Only to sit there and keep him pinned as she listened. It wasn't that bad at first, or at least she thought as much. She was reining herself in pretty well... But the sun was starting to rise, and with the new light she started to see how red his face actually was in the dim light. Her pain came back in a flash, how or why she didn't know or because of what but she felt something trickle down her cheeks. Slowly she reached up only to feel liquid, was she crying? Quickly she wiped it off and stood up off of F'ro before turning away to look over towards the light.
"I have had to fight in the dark before, but usually there is some form of light to barely tell. But mostly its from sound. I took off my boots and I can be mostly silent with just bare feet. So I used your senses against you while trying to be as quick as possible. I realized that you couldn't fight that well and probably by eye sight right? you have to rely on your other senses too."
Linda's voice cracked here and there as she tried to keep in control. She didn't know why she was so emotional but she was so angry... then saw him bright red and it just changed everything. She would have to speak to another healer about this or something since it was going to seriously effect her it seemed. Maybe she was allergic to him or something... either way she just didn't want to look at him right now. "I don't even fight in the pure darkness though that is just stupid. just enough light for even outlines is good."

Shard it all sun! Don't start rising! F'ro grimaced, knowing the light would betray him and show just how embarassed he was about this particular bout of sparring. He knew the teasing would start then; why would Linda pass up a perfect opportunity. Strangely, F'ro realized, he didn't mind being teased by her as much as he should...
"Never fought at night." He replied unhappily, not wanting to admit such a thing but knowing it had to be said. As she spoke about her boots, F'ro glanced at her feet and realized she was right. The sharding woman had cheated! Well, in a way. He was about to open his mouth and call her on it, but decided against it. She would just end their sparring if he started making excuses for losing, wouldn't she? Instead, he listened as she explained his shortcomings. He had never thought about how he fought before, so the idea that he didn't use all his senses properly hit him hard.
"K..." He grumbled, unhappy to be letting her know how completely defeated he was this morning. Finally he sat up and glanced over at her, curious as to why she wasn't looking at him. He had seen the tears and just assumed she had stepped on something in the dark, but it was still weirding him out. "Stupid girl, you won, why are you crying?"

It had been an odd two days, that's all Linda would admit to right now as she tried to wonder why in fact all this was happening. He wasn't acting like himself and neither was she, was there something in the air? Nah it was probably because he impressed, that had to be it. She was just feeling funky because she likes Dragons and he was chosen by one so she started thinking stuff she shouldn't have.
"I would suggest using a blindfold and just test out your senses then and figure things out. Maybe then if we spar at night again you might put up more of a fight. From now on it will be just after dawn I'll be here at the training area to spar with you as per our agreement." That was good right? now she shouldn't feel as guilty for snapping at him earlier since she gave him some good advice and let him know when to meet her so he wouldn't think she was avoiding him and his payment.
Though the fact he was being so meek about his defeat... it.. it... it was unheard of!!! Linda couldn't help but frown a bit as she just felt very very uneasy. Where was his spunk? his spine? Why wasn't he trying to torment her back? Did she break him or something? Shards he noticed her tears!!! Quickly she tried to make sure that she wasn't looking at him. "I am not crying!! I got something in my eye is all!!"

If you were to ask F'ro why things seemed weird, he would most certainly pile the blaim on Linda. She had been the one to start acting weird, and doing weird things, and making him think weird thoughts that kept him up all night! He glanced at her grumpily as she started talking about moving their spar time till after the sun rose. She had kicked his ass, and now she wasn't even planning to give him a chance to redeem himself. "Before dawn." He shot back, his eyes narrowed in a glare. "I will learn, and I wil beat you. You just got lucky today, so don't think you can baby me with daylight sparring now." He would take her suggestion of the blindfold seriously though. After all, she clearly knew what she was talking about. He shook his head. He was being too soft! No wonder she was treating him like a failure! He needed to get back into his comfort zone. "Or is it that you miss seeing my body when we spar. Completely understandable, I am quite the specimen after all." He attempted a smirk, though his embarassed expression still hadn't gone away completely, so the strength of his smirk was certainly diminished. "Well, to the victor goes the spoils, so I suppose you can look all you want right now." He gave a dramatic pose, working his muscles in what he belieed would be a good pose for showing off. After all, F'ro had always been well muscled for a kid his age, and the extensive physical training for dragonriding was only serving in refining what he already had.

Linda merely gave a shrug as he wanted to do more night time sparring. "I would have allowed it go back to before dawn when you felt ready. Or do you like me being able to toy with you and pin you down so fast?" She was going to let him work on his fighting but nope seems that he wanted to get beaten while training himself. Or if he did take her suggestion, probably wouldn't knowing him. Of course he wouldn't take any suggestions SHE gave after all.
"hmph.... yes you are quite the specimen but I don't need to see." Linda tried to put in some sarcasm but she didn't know if it was halfhearted sounding or just a little bit. Linda of course wasn't looking at F'ro at all, completely ignoring looking at him at all though... not even watching his dramatic pose at the moment. However she does turn around after getting under control and just stops as she sees him posing and just stares.
"..... what are you doing?" Everything vanished from within her head as she just stared at him. Unable to really look away, though of course she just pinned it down to trying to figure out what in pern he was doing. "You don't have to strut around like a love struck Wherrie you know..." But of course her words might not have their desired effect, considering she couldn't really look away yet. At least she wasn't drooling, that would be the end of her... not like there was much to drool at she told herself inwardly.

She was taunting him! Making it very clear she thoughts he was pathetic and useless. He would show her! He didn't need time to practice during the day. Oh no, he would get this nighttime sparring business down to a science faster than she could blink! It rankled him! He liked being the top dog, liked that she saw him as a threat (which he was!), but now she was acting like he was just some normal brat with no idea how to fight.
"Don't get too cocky girl, it was a one time thing." He growled, the red of his face darkening again. How he was going to learn to defeat her quickly... he didn't know. But hey, F'ro was a hard worker and he would give it his all. He stared back at her as she finally turned to look at him, clearly unsure of why she was confused. He had just stated he was a specimen after all! But, she wasn't looking away. She was looking at him... no, she was staring. He smirked.
"You know you like it." He replied with an air of indifference as he changed his pose to show off a different set of muscles, trying not to look like an idiot as he did so. "You know you want to examine me up close, healer. You'll never find a better specimen." He wasn't quite sure what he was trying to accomplish, maybe weirding her out or something. Either way he was having... fun.

As much as F'ro thought, Linda actually wasn't really taunting him... in a weird way of hers she was trying to help him. Why or how come probably was known to all but her. She actually wanted a good sparring partner, especially at night... She really wanted to know how it was like to fight another at night who did well at it. But it seemed that wouldn't be happening any time soon now did it.
"We shall see" Was all she dared to respond to his it was a one time thing. Surely he couldn't get THAT good in just one day. Oh well she would have to wait and see... but now she was more concerned about the odd way he was moving.... "I don't know.... is something wrong with you?.... your moving in weird and idiotic ways... what is the purpose for this?" Linda merely frowned... she wasn't being condescending or anything she actually didn't really understand. Sure she knew how animals attracted mates with posturing but he wasn't trying to attract her so what was all this about?
Slowly she walked closer though to inspect him anyways, he did say examine him up close but she just frowned. "I don't see really anything too off the wall... what did you have a lump I needed to look at or something?" Yes.... after all that happened... Linda was just that freakin clueless when it came to some things as she just naively asked him such odd questions.

"No, nothing is wrong with me, idiot." He snorted with a roll of his eyes. Well, his ego and pride had been severely injured, but those weren't wounds one could fix with bandages and numbweed. He would have to overcome her before he felt things were fixed. It was as simple as that, and he planned to do it.
"I'm stretching. Have you never studied a body before?" He was genuinely surprised, if only because he had learned some anatomy from his father. It had been brief, simple lessons on muscle structure so that he would know how to work his body to the fullest. Either way, he wasn't necessarily trying to attract her, he was just trying to boost his own ego again.
"You're an idiot." Was all he managed for a moment, giving her a dumbstruck look. His posing stopped and he crossed his arms in annoyance. "And.. hey.. what do you mean off the wall...?" Suddenly feeling self-conscious, since her wording made it sound like something was weird, he couldn't help but try to glance over himself.

Linda merely shrugged again and stood up before walking over to collect her boots since it was apparent the sparring was over and it was starting to turn day. "Very well then." Was all she had to say, since he didn't have anything wrong she didn't have any reason to look at him right? Though she did keep what she saw deep in her mind because well lets face it... She couldn't really forget that easily.
"Ah so thats what it was, I thought for a moment that you were doing some bizarre courting thing but I realized it was you. And I am the only female around here so obviously that wasn't it." Seriously she was having no idea she was just making him feel worse and worse. Probably the part that made it even worse for him was she didn't know... Or the fact she possibly didn't care. But hey soon enough she hoped to get at least some decent night sparring.
"Well since it is dawn now I have to feed my fire lizards and Huntyres. So I guess we are done for the day? Or was that just the night sparring and you are ready to go again now that the sun is up?" Linda turned to look at him with her head tilted to the side. She was putting up a front however, she really just wanted to run over and tackle him... Wait a second what was those thoughts!!!!

F'ro watched as his sparring partner made the obvious actions of preparring to leave. Did she realize how soul-crushing she was being? Kicking his ass, ignoring his taunts and now prepping to leave. Was being near him that much of an annoyance to her? Well, of course he tried to annoy her but he was being social now!
"C-courting?" F'ro couldn't help the catch in his voice. She though he was courting her? The thought made him shift uncomfortably. He hadn't intended to do it, but had she actually seen it as that? "Ha, so that's what makes you hot and bothered? You'll take a good-looking, strong man over flowers and pretty words? I'll keep that in mind when I decide to make you fall for me."
A rather feral grin spread over his features. So, despite his failure earlier that morning, she was willing to go for another round, nay, she needed another fight, didn't she? Did she want to work off some steam as much as he did? With a roll of his shoulders he got into a starting stance.
"I'm always ready for you," He shot back instinctively, though he let his mind reach out towards Apperointh first. They didn't have lessons for a while yet today, and the brown showed no signs of waking just yet. Yeah, he could definitely go for a second round; the first was an embarassing memory that he wanted to bury.

The last what twelve or so hours just seemed a big huge helping of awkward and a cycle of pain between the candidate and brown weyrling. Without either of them meaning it in that way or not. Linda oblivious to everything, and just wanting to get things done and over with. Finally got her shoes on at least, since it was day now it didn't really make sense to not have them on now.
Upon his shock at such a thing, Linda did get her confirmation... at least what she felt. That yes he wasn't doing nothing of the sort. A frown went across her face as she heard him only to roll her eyes. "Yes a good looking strong man or woman who is at least good in combat and has wit to match. Flowers and pretty words aren't really long lasting anyways... But I have yet to see anyone in this Weyr that fits that description that isn't taken anyways." Of course she was talking about Korvin, but she really didn't feel that way towards him anyways. He was still a jerk and well he reminded her too much of a brother of hers anyways.
A grin though passed through her face though as she turned to meet him, he was all ready for another go huh? "Oh? You sure weren't earlier you think you are now? Or should I try to not use my shoes now so you can see a master at work hmm?" Linda was now teasing him with a smirk on her face as she slowly got into a stance. Wondering what he would do now though if he wanted her to show off her bootless wonder maybe he would learn too...

"If that's the case you should be head over heels for me." He sneered, his eyes narrowing as she made it very clear that he wasn't good enough. It wasn't because he wanted her, that certainly couldn't be the reason, but being so easily rejected just... hurt. She was his, if he decided he wanted her, didn't she realize that? Stupid woman! Oh but the insults kept coming. She was getting too good at this! He growled.
"Yeah yeah, you caught me once. I told you it won't happen again. Go ahead and take off your stupid shoes. I'll pound you either way." He rolled his shoulders before standing straight and relaxing his posture, making it clear he would wait. If she thought he was just being cocky, she was mistaken. She had beaten him once already, he didn't plan on it happening again; he was going to watch, to learn her movements and her habits, her weak points and her strong. He would turn her bout of cockiness against her.
"Come on then sweetheart, let's see what you've got now that you can't hide in the dark."

Linda just frowned inwardly a little bit, she didn't know why she was being so mean to F'ro today... No it was perfectly fine, she was just getting him back for all the previous times she couldn't really get back at him. "Not yet, your still a jerk." Was all Linda responded with to his she should be head over heels for him... Wait yet? Shards she hoped he didn't catch that, just what was her problem today uggggh.
Linda though took her shoes off again though before she slid into her stance and looked at F'ro "You know, it is different to fight without shoes, or an opponent with or without shoes. Just keep that in mind." Though he seemed to be dishing out to her what she was giving him, she just smirked as she listened. "Very well then."
This time around she didn't stay back, now that she had her shoes off she ran forward. But her feet went toe to heel causing less sound then even normal barefooted people as she just sort of glided over the ground. Quickly she ducked down and tried to sweep out his legs out from under him before. More for the sake of showing him what she did during the darkness then actually sparring now. Why she wanted to teach him she didn't know, but it did help with her stress relief having a living punching bag.
