"Yet?" Of course he caught it, he was listening for anything to use against her. His question though, wasn't extremely taunting or teasing, in fact, it seemed more curious than anything else. Once again he found himself questioning just what she meant; was she trying to tease him, or was she serious? He wanted to say something more, but his brain simply wouldn't supply him with anything to say, so instead he shook his head and watched as she removed her shoes again.
"Oooh footwear makes all the difference." He grumbled sarcastically. Really, only difference he saw was that she might step on something sharp and hurt herself. Ha. That would teach her. He returned to his stance as she finished prepping and was mildly surprised that she was so quick to attack. Then again, if one of them didn't make a move right off the bat then they would be at a standstill. her sweeping attack was not unexpected; he had figured she had done something similar in the dark.
As she dropped to sweep his legs he skipped back out of range and quickly retaliated by aiming a kick at her side, hoping her low position would hamper the speed he knew she had. It was nothing but a warm up, he could feel it, but already he could feel his blood pumping in excitement.

Linda felt her cheeks redden when he asked about her yet word, and she just tried to ignore it. If she didn't respond maybe he would forget, or as much as she hoped he would. But now she had the traction she really needed, she could just move a lot easier without really sliding as much with shoes in sand kind of thing. Nevermind her feet weren't that soft, she had a habit of walking around at least in her room barefoot or other places.
"Yes it does" Was Linda's response to his little sarcastic quip, seriously she didn't see how he could be so stupid sometimes. She frowned a little bit when he jumped back, at least he was learning how to dodge that is. Now if only he kept moving around or stayed still and silent at night. He had aimed a kick at her side though and quickly she just let her body drop to her side. Though her arms reached out to try to grab his foot before she just rolled to try to knock him off his legs. If not her rolling would lessen the impact of the kick if it connected.

He couldn't help but give a little snort of amusement as he successfully dodged her first attack. Seriously, he may not be the quickest at times, but he knew patterns when he saw them. He knew how to fight, and though he may not have actually been the best, he was cocky when it came to his abilities. He grunted as she grabbed his foot; he had expected a block or evasive maneuvre of some sort, but he hadn't thought she would actually grab him.
So it was that the move successfully pulled him off balance, but he was quick to roll into the fall and pull his foot out of her grasp before throwing himself off the ground and at her. She was too low to the ground for his fists to be of much use without putting him at risk, and she had already shown she would use his kicks against him. So instead he simply threw himself at her, using his weight to his advantage to hopefully pin her. After all, his intention wasn't to just beat her until she bled; he wanted to test, to train, to improve.
"You're quick," He grinned.

Linda was to into the fight, grinning as she felt relieved she could actually go most of the way and didn't really have to hold back. The only things she held back was the whole killer part, not that she really killed a human yet but she wasn't about to start least of all on him. Before she even finished rolling all the way away from him though she noted that he did well enough. Good he was well with improvising well time to step it up a notch.
With him launching himself towards her, she just gave a smirk as she rolled onto her back and brought her legs up towards her chest. Knees bent as her feet were facing towards him. Hoping to let him land on her feet and her suddenly launching him when she straightens her legs. Of course trying to use as much of his momentum as she tried to then launch him if that happened the same way he was still going. If it didn't work well, this spar would be short lived and he pinned her.
If it did work however she would quickly roll up onto her feet to face him and see if she could either try to tackle him to pin him.... or wait to see what his next move was or how he landed. It wouldn't do for him to land and break his neck of course but hopefully he had the reactions to stop that.

It was, perhaps, pure luck that he managed to pull off the move he did. As her feet connected with his gut, he knew what she was going to do, but it wasn't something he had ever had to deal with before. Sharding girl really did know how to use weight to her advantage! As the ground rushed out to meet him, F'ro shot out his hands and twisted his body. Somehow he lucked out, and though it was sloppy, he did manage to get his feet beneath him with enough speed to keep Linda from pinning him.
Shaking his head, for the entire thing had caused him to feel dizzy, he took up his stance again and made a summoning motion with his hand. Bring it on, the move said. He knew going on the offensive would do him no good; she was quick and small enough to either evade or turn his strength against him. No, he would have to let her attack first.

Linda was beaming, like pure on happy smile, only real time she ever had this type of expression was quiet time with Dragons and Fire Lizards. She was just having fun letting lose and sparring. She was able to launch him but he caught himself well enough before he got up and even motioned for her to come at him. Sadly though Linda just shook her head and gave a little sad smile. "Nah its your win now, you did good."
He still had probably stuff to do with his Dragon and she didn't want to severely wear him out so he could do his other work. Besides the sun was slowly coming up and she could start to feel hunger pains. She turned her back to F'ro and went to go grab her stuff again. "But I gotta say I really got to go all out for once, you are getting better. Soon I won't have to really hold back much and get to really have fun." The thought just gave her a goofy little grin on her face as she just stopped really paying attention to him... if he wanted to he could probably pin her while she had her back to him.

Linda wasn't the only one smiling. F'ro also liked their little spars, and with the adrenaline running through him he felt more energetic than he should have, given his lack of sleep. Things were just getting good, once they got into the thick of things where he would be able to give his all... then things would really get interesting. His smile disappeared and his expression dropped into an unhappy smile as she gave up.
"Of course I did well, I know how to fight you know." She was handing him a win, as if he couldn't get it on his own! The thought infuriated him to no end. He did glance at the sun however, and realized it was for the best. Apperointh would be waking soon, and he would be hungry. If they stopped now, there would be time for him to cool down and regain control of himself before needing to run off. Shard it all.
As she started going on about how he was 'getting better' and how she would stop holding back soon, he felt about ready to snap. She was babying him! Playing nice because she thought he couldn't handle it. It was pathetic! As it was, she wasn't even paying attention to him now... he wasnt a big enough threat? Treading as quickly and quietly as he could, F'ro moved up behind her. He could punch her, or knock her feet out from under her or... ha, he could pin her without a problem from here. yet as his hands shot up to grab her, they only went so far as to rest on her hips, his head bowing to lean on her shoulder.
"You will go all out tomorrow. I don't want to claim victory over someone who isn't trying." F'ro spoke softly in her ear, flushing a little bit as he realized how close he was to hugging her.

"I am not saying you don't know how to fight sheesh... take a shardin compliment." Linda frowned as she retorted even as she started to get her stuff together. But oh well if he wanted to take it another way then fine she didn't care... right? She just frowned as she really tried to think what was his problem. Seriously she tried to compliment
Suddenly though she felt hands on her hips and gave out a loud squeak as she almost jumped... only reason she didn't was she felt his chin on her shoulder. Her face instantly turned bright red as she realized he wasn't trying to harm her but... but... what was this? a hug? cuddling? Even his whisper she tried very hard not to shiver but turn even redder as she scowled "I can't do that... I have to keep my killer side in tact. I have yet to kill a human and I am not about to start now on a Weyrling." Linda just snapped back as she tried to squirm away.
"I am trying to teach you more so you can be a better fighter... so its more fun sparring with you so I can go all out without worry...." There she said it, now would he back off? Though this was rather comforta... no she was not about to finish that sentence in her head!!! She turned bright red again and just scowled and looked away from F'ro. "So until then I can't go full out, understand? Its not meant to be an insult at you."

What was he doing? F'ro couldn't help but stare as Linda turned a rather delightful shade of red. Was it embarassment for being caught by surprise, or was it because of how close he was? Did he affect her like that? The idea was pleasing, to say the least, but he found himself feeling terribly confused by it. He liked the idea of affecting her like this but, as he felt the heat rising in his own cheeks, he wondered if he really wanted to do this? Why, with her of all people? "Killer instinct huh... I'll have you know I'm not that easy to kill." He was still speaking quietly, even as she tried to squirm away, though it didn't seem to be much of an effort. He scowled as she continued speaking. Whether she meant it or not, she was hitting him where it hurt. That any girl, even one as skilled as her, believed that they needed to hold back until he was at their level was just... it was wrong! "Without worry huh? Careful girl, keep speaking like that and I'll have to think you care about me." Without realizing it, he had pressed himself closer to her, his lips hovering so close to her neck that thoughts were going through his mind that really shouldn't have been. Just a little lean, that would be all it would take. He could just - F'roMine? The confused, worried voice of his dragon popped into his mind. The dragonet had awoken from the surge of emotion his rider-to-be was dealing with. He scowled and blushed deeply as he shoved those thoughts (because really, he didn't want to have them about this sharding woman!) away. How could he get out of this without embarassing himself? Taking a deep breath, he quickly shifted his foot in front of hers, pushed her forward and tried to sweep her legs out from under her before turning away. Throwing his hands behind his head nonchalantly, as if he wasn't going through a mental tirade with himself, he called out a few parting words. "All out tomorrow or I'll be forced to raise the payment."

Linda was having her own inner turmoil as well as she tried to solidly put it in a rock box to hide away never to be seen again... however it wasn't working as she just stood there to scowl and listen to him instead. Maybe she could chalk it up as being nice because she beat him so badly and apparently really dug in the dagger so to speak.
".... I don't need to try to kill anyone while at the Weyr, same goes for everyone but you seem to push that line sometimes especially during spars." To Linda it was perfectly reasonable in her mind, if she did cause serious injury she would more then likely be kicked out. Or she would have to take care of him if they still trusted her even to be around him. OR cause harm to his dragon who might freak out because of it.
"I don-" Linda's words were cut off as she felt just how close he was. Her body wasn't responding either as she just stood stock still. As if maybe she didn't move he would get bored of her and wander off? Or she was just like a deer in headlights as she just couldn't move. Either way she wasn't about to admit it, thankful when he finally pulled back. Now able to breathe a better sigh of relief... Her thoughts that were going in... well less then stellar places with him in the centerpiece was NOT what she had in mind to think about today.
Finally, he went to try to sweep her legs out from under her and she merely hit the ground. At least she was away and out of his embrace. She was so... distraught yes that was the word she could use!! At being so near him that she couldn't even let herself roll back up onto her feet. She scowled a little bit, though a little smile tweaked at the end of it as she felt relief. "We shall see if you are worthy enough for me to do so or not."

"Only sometimes huh. I'll have to change that." The admittance that he pished the line when it came to sparring helped his poor broken ego a little bit. She was admitting that he was somethin more than everyone else, and that certainly rubbed him right. He had to fight the grin that pulled at the corners of his mouth. Truth be told, he wouldn't mind getting a little injured during their spars, it would certainly make things interesting. Of course, he fully intended to return any injuries he received.
"Bring it on girl, make me put forth some effort okay." He raised a hand over his head in a mock wave as he strode off, his steps carrying purpose. He had a dragon to return to and care for after all. Besides, he needed to get out of there, before she realized how red and flustered he felt. She hadn't denied caring, not fully anyways. His fingers still tingled with warmth from where he had touched her. What was wrong with him? With a shake of his head, he decided it was simply because he was tired; there was no other explanation for the sensations he was feeling.
{End??}
