“Oh come on weakling, you had barely any alcohol.” He scoffed, wondering when she was going to follow through and prove him wrong. It was obvious she wasn’t going to attack first, and he was getting tired of wasting his time waiting on her. He would have to attack first if he wanted this to be done with… but how much of a disadvantage would it put him at? His eyes narrowed as she continued the verbal attacks, though he couldn’t help but chuckle as she tried a stab at his gender.
“Come by my weyr again tonight and I’d be more than happy to prove my gender to you sweetheart.” He rolled his shoulders, barely hiding a wince as the movement caused his arm to hurt. Shards, he would need to get her back from cutting him. Well, he supposed now would be the chance. With another roll of his shoulders he stepped towards her and threw a lazy punch, merely testing what he was up against.

Linda didn't even bother to respond now, him talking about alcohol and how it effected her wasn't anything new. In fact it was something she would never do again, unless well she had to but she didn't know if there would be something like that. She would deal with it another time but for right now it was time to get ready. Oh and there he went again commenting on her going to his weyr later. "No thanks, your weyr smells." Of course not even thinking about what someone would think, of how she would know and thus being there once before.
Aha now he was going towards her, and threw a rather pathetic punch... Was that all he could come up with? Swiftly she reached out to try to grab his hand, moving to the side of it even as she pulled. Linda hoped to use his own forward momentum to knock him off balance. Her back turned to him to use to hopefully launch him up in the air for a throw. If she accomplished this, maybe it would end the fight quickly... or at least put it in her favor. Pinning him wouldn't be the brightest idea either since he had more strength then her.

“Really… that’s the best insult you can come up with?” he gave her a surprised look, having expected something a tad more… clever? Firo took after his father in a lot of ways, and his room reflected that. It was generally kept clean and organized, save for the odd scrap of fabric here or there. Well, no matter, it wasn’t like he actually wanted Linda back in his weyr; it had been a one-time thing because of how pathetic she was when drunk.
Linda’s build, and her disinterest in attacking first made Firo believe she was a ‘speed’ fighter. He had faced his fair share of the lighter, swifter fighters before, and knew they had a knack for throwing. In fact, ah there it was! He knew the moment she grabbed his arm, that she would be trying to use his weight and momentum against him. There was no avoiding it, but he would certainly roll with it. Twisting his wrist, he grabbed hold of hers as she launched him over her shoulder, hoping to throw her off balance and drag her along. Regardless, his landing would involve a quick roll to get back on his feet.

Linda's face pursed together as she felt his hand close around her own wrist. He was trying to take her along for the ride and she wasn't about to let him have his way fully. She took hold of his wrist and pushed off with her feet. Trying to flip and twist, she had kind of done this before but only on tree limbs or animals. Hopefully she didn't land harshly with her feet on anywhere toooo sensitive... like between his legs which she wasn't trying to aim for.
But what would she do now thought? She was in a position of pinning him when she didn't want to and he might gain the upper hand. If she could get him to let go of her hand... without gravely injuring him, she would try to put some distance between them. If not she could try to pin him and hope that she can use the momentum he would need to roll her over and pin her to keep the roll going.. But that would be if it happened or not and not at this moment.

Ha! Success! Firo couldn’t help but grin smugly as his move worked, at least somewhat. She was good, that much was obvious as she twisted away. He hit the ground and would have rolled, if not for the foot that landed MUCH too close to a rather sensitive area, causing him to freeze.
“Th-that’s a low blow, even for you!” He winced, eyeing her warily and taking a moment to relax himself, his grip on her wrist only tightening. As if he was going to let her escape now that he had her! Giving her wrist a yank, he didn’t roll and try to pin her, but rather just attempted to throw her off balance long enough for him to let go, get up and prepare his stance again.
“I thought you were supposed to be some excellent fighter. Well, show me what you’ve got already!” There was a light grimace on his face; the stretching of his arm had caused the knife wound to reopen and spots of blood were already showing through the bandage.

"Hey I didn't aim there on purpose!!! If I did Well... I wouldn't have missed!!!" Linda snapped back at Firo, she didn't want to win just because she used him as a guy to his weakness. He was a somewhat decent fighter and well.... She actually had a tad bit of honor within her. Not that she wouldn't do it if she had to, mostly to save her life or something... But still she just scowled as she took a risk to glance and see if she truly did hit the accidental mark or not.
His attempt to throw her off balance did work, she would have went sprawling if not for her knowledge of how to fall. Slapping the ground and inducing her body to roll so she should get back up on her feet. She had to learn that fairly fast, felines really liked trying to kill those who didn't get up in time. "Your one to talk, your bleeding.... Guess we have to postpone this match till you are healed. I would rather beat you when you are fully healthy so you can't use it as an excuse that I am better then you."
Linda just scowled, she was not happy to have to stop this fight but they couldn't help it. Seriously was it that deep of a thing to have reopened during the fight? Or did the healer bungle treating it... no wait he didn't like healers from what she remembered so maybe he did it himself. "But I have to admit, you are at least a decent fighter... not as good as me though."

He watched her roll back on her feet, feeling even more impressed with every move she did. Girls weren’t supposed to know how to fight! They were supposed to be weak and whiny and annoying, hurt by words and never getting physical. Yet, with each passing moment, Firo felt more and more interested in going head to head with this girl, seeing how far he could push her (and vice versa) in their little fight. That said, the very idea that she wanted to postpone the fight rubbed him the wrong way.
“Stop treating me like a weakling, girl. It’s just a small cut, I’ll beat you regardless.” He did glance at the bandage though, grimacing at what he saw. Well, the healers had told him not to push himself too hard today, and he was doing the exact opposite of what they had said. He quirked an eyebrow as she said he was ‘decent’. Oh he was better than decent and he would prove it. “If you want to stop, I don’t blame you. You know you can’t win this fight. But I’m not stopping until you run with your tail between your legs.” Or, of course, if she pinned him and forced him to stop, but that wasn’t a possibility in his mind.
He ran at her, making it look like he was going to throw a punch again, though at the last minute he dropped down to swing a kick at her legs, trying to sweep her feet out from under her.

"Well then don't complain when I beat you, at least I TRIED to make it honorable." Linda sneered back at Firo, Hey at least she tried, and if he even said so much as she cheated or something whiny when he would be defeated then she will shove that in his face... Yes it was a matter of when she won now, especially if she used that wound of him. alls fair in love and war as some people would say, and frankly she goes after weakspots in her enemies so its only natural for her.
Quickly she got ready for his punch but no, he instead tried to sweep her off her feet... And not in the romantic way, well maybe it was because she liked what she saw of how he was somewhat keeping up with her. With that she fell, but went towards him in hopes of pinning him down. And to make it better she tried to aim a punch as strong as she possibly could at where the bleeding was seeping through his clothes. It would be best if she ended it fast so it could be taken care of.

He hissed, biting his lip as her fist connected with his wound and sent a stab of pain coursing through him. The smugness he had felt mere moments before as his feint worked was immediately wiped away as he found himself pinned under her, doing everything in his power not to grab his arm. He took a deep breath and scowled up at her.
“Go figure you only stand a chance of winning when you take cheap shots,” He growled, though after an experimental wiggle or two he stopped fighting and simply lay back. As stubborn as he was about fighting, he knew he didn’t stand a chance now; regardless of whether he could still beat her or not, it was clear she would focus on his wound, well aware that it was bad enough that he would falter with every hit.
“I know you love straddling me and all, but how long do you plan on sitting there?” he clenched his hand, trying to calm the soreness and regain proper feeling in his hand. He grimaced, embarassed that he would let her win like this. She better be prepared for a rematch when he didn't have an injury she could take advantage of.

"Hey I gave you a chance to gracefully back out, I am not about to change my fighting style for someone because they whine." Linda retorted, she had nooooo sympathy for him and his pain right now. He did kind of deserve it and didn't even take the chance to heal up to even try to fight her better. Next time they fought would be spectacular though... Because he would know what all she used already as what she could do. She didn't have much in her arsenal to use either.... maybe it was about time to learn a few new tricks.
But he seemed to relax and give up.... then before she could get up and off of him he went back to his old self. "Ha! Fat chance, you just wanted me to win so I would straddle you!!. Anyways you want me to fix your shoulder or not?" With that she quickly stood up and away from him before reaching out with a hand to offer help for him to get up. "Hrm... and Since I won, doesn't that entitle me to something? How about you try to not be as much of a Herdbeast's behind until the next fight.. which won't happen till you're healed up."

“I’m not whining, I’m simply commenting.” He huffed, crossing his arms as he stared up at her, watching her get up and off him. He rolled his eyes. “As if I would want you of all people straddling me. Idiot. There’s nothing wrong with my shoulder. It’s just fine.” He shot back stubbornly. Wasn’t it enough that he was letting her win? Did she really need to shove his defeat even farther down his throat? He quirked an eyebrow as she claimed a prize for her win and offered her hand. He looked at the outstretched hand for a moment before reaching out to take it. However, if she thought he was accepting help, she was horribly mistaken. Grabbing her wrist, he gave a sharp tug, hopefully causing her to fall over again.
“As if I need your help.” He growled as he sat up. His arm stung and he glanced at it, poking lightly at the bloody bandage. “All I need is a new wrap and I’ll be good as new.” He sighed, contemplating her prize. Him, be nice? Impossible. “Oh, my Lady, I would be honored to play the part of gentleman for you. What might I do for you? Brush your hair? Rub your shoulders?” He scoffed, “As if I’d play nice just because you think you won. I wouldn’t want you falling for my charm after all.”

Linda couldn't help but grin as he seemed to huff and get all mad at her, not her fault. She did try to give him the honorable way out for another rematch... Not her problem or fault so now she got to see him squirm over it, it was nice to know that she could beat him. "Then maybe next time don't be so easy to pin down next time." Yes... she was going to torment him with that even if he did follow the being nice because she won. It was nice actually though to have someone to fight with.. It took out a lot more in the way of frustrations then she thought it would... Now if only to keep getting on his nerves so it would happen again?
When he grabbed her wrist and pulled her to try to make her fall however, she let herself fall and slapped the ground again. Rolling as she was up on her feet in no time with a little smirk. Did he already forget that she could do that? Seriously he was wasting both their time when she was trying to be what was the word... sportsmanlike? "Okay then, just thought I'd offer, you can go ahead to the infirmary then." But then he started to try to be all gentleman like? Linda started laughing her arse off as she almost fell over from the hilarity of it. "What charm? And really nice doesn't suit you... toooo funny."

“I’m only easy to pin because I’m letting you pin me, stupid.” He growled back. If it wasn’t for her using cheap shots this entire thing would have ended much differently.. “That’s why you cut me this morning, isn’t it? You wanted to make sure you would be able to cheat.” He smirked at her, as if he had figured out her whole plan. Obviously the only way the woman stood a chance against him was to set things up in her favor.
He watched her fall and turn it into a roll, once again impressed at the action. Loathe as he was to admit it, he could certainly learn a thing or two about close combat from her… perhaps he would have to try and teach himself that particular rolling move. He didn’t pay her any attention as she mentioned the healers. He knew he’d be fine without going for a bit; he was bleeding, but not so terribly that it would be fatal. Besides, leaving now would be like admitting defeat and he just wasn’t going to do it. He couldn’t help but grin though as his little charade caused her to laugh. It was, oddly enough, a pretty sound, but at least she knew he was purposely trying to overdo it.
“Oooh so you like me the way I am? How touching, my Lady. You’re sending my heart a-flutter with your sweet words.” He reached out as if to cup her cheek lovingly, though it was all part of his act. “Tell me, my Lady, what a poor man like myself might do to win your maiden heart.” It was, at the very least, entertaining, so he wanted to see how long he could push it before she regretted choosing it as her prize.

Linda couldn't help but smirk a little bit, easy to pin because he let her? yeah right he didn't really have the capacity for something like that. He was too stubborn and sexist, or was all his talk just that... talk? Was that all he had going for him in a fight? Part of her seemed a bit disappointed in him, was he really that weak? Then he started saying that she had a reason to cut him to make it easier for her? She just started laughing again. "Uh huh suuuuuuure, if that is what helps you sleep at night. Seriously if that was the case I wouldn't offer to postpone this match so your arm could heal up so I could beat you and you wouldn't be able to try saying pathetic excuses like this."
Linda didn't really notice, or if she did care less, that he watched as she rolled from getting up. If he learned something so be it, maybe it would make him a better opponent so her skills wouldn't get so rusted while she was staying in the Weyr. But then no... he did something unthinkable as he reached out to try to cup her cheek... Instantly she tensed up and tried to back up, her hand instinctively reaching for her blade only to remember she didn't have it with her. Okay maybe now he was being a tad creepy, was this really the type of guy she was starting to like? Well... he did keep her on her toes apparently.
"Okay did I hit your head too hard, or you bled out too much? And I am just saying your less creepy your normal way... this this.... ugh... Your lucky I don't got my blade handy to slice that tongue outta your mouth." But there was that grin on her face as she started to chuckle a little bit, she wasn't girly enough to really giggle... maybe it was a slight giggle chuckle but a full on giggle? Nope not her. "Ha, I don't like boys, only men who are fighting healthy and wise. Neither of which you are little boy." It was obvious she was trying to tease him back with a little smirk on her face.

“What helps me sleep at night is your pretty little body cuddled up with mine,” He smirked, ignoring her taunting for the time being. Though he did figure it would be a good idea to clarify their situation somewhat. “Fine girl. In the end we’re tied. One win for both of us. I assure you I won’t be pinned next time.” He was rather amused to see her back away from him though, especially since his attempted touch was, at the very least, non-threatening. Go figure she would be uneasy about kindness… what a strange girl!
“Oh but my Lady, I am only doing as you requested. Have I displeased you? My deepest apologies.. how may I make it up to you?” He was enjoying watching her as he pulled his nice boy act. No doubt she was regretting it now, which made his grin grow larger with every passing moment. It faltered, however, as she returned to insulting him. “Hey, I am too ‘fighting healthy’. It’s not my fault you like to cut people when they get you all hot and bothered. Of course, it’s not surprising that you’re a big chicken when it comes to socializing. You act tough but you’re just a weakling in the end aren’t you, silly girl.”
