And I feel just like I’m living someone else’s life It’s like I just stepped outside When everything was going right And I know just why you could not Come along with me This was not your dream But you always believed in me
Are you alright AraMine? I mean....it's going to be different, you know that right? Those against us have already made that clear.
The green's mind-voice came in a gentle whisper to her rider as she backwinged onto the beach. It was the day after the battle had occured, and looking at the ocean still gave the rider flashes of the night's events. S'vrin and Ar'rex had gathered the riders they led on an inlet with the rebels they had been able to capture, and Ara had been cut off from returning with the other rebels herself. It had been made perfectly clear that she and Panille would be staying, but naturally that was easier said than done.
I'll be fine. We'll be gone before you know it. Think about it Avi, Pan's not going to stay away from lover-boy for long. Smirking, she quickly dropped the facial feature from her lips as a rider passed by taking note of the different rebels and trelis riders that were starting to return home. Some rebels, ones that were higher up in position, were taken away for questioning most likely. After all, Noita had been smart enough to keep their new home a secret from everyone but her Lieutenants.
The fact that their old hiding spot had been found though was enough to make the Obsidianrider nervous. No wonder she didn't entirely trust D'tri and Aela, but they were Trelis impressed and taught after all. It was rare for the Leader of The Obsidian Rebellion to completely trust anyone from Ara's home. It had been amazing enough to the greenrider when she had been put in charge of a small group of rebels. Then again, no one would guess that the leaders of the attacking wings were temporarily made as lower ranking riders. S'vrin's men had been set on taking out the Sub-Kings and Kings instead of actually paying attention to where the orders were coming from.
Ara knew that was the only reason why the rebels had gotten free and were able to escape at all. Sighing, she walked a bit next to the shore, ignoring the other riders that were giving her odd looks. Yes, yes she had run away to train with the rebels too. She was not the same little girl she once was. Avirith watched Hers from the ocean waters, hissing slightly as the salt water bit into her scratches. Her rider had assured the green it would be best for the wounds though, otherwise they might not be seen in time to clean them out. There were many wounded.
Finding herself sitting on the shoreline, Ara put her head in against her knees, breathing deeply to calm herself. She felt odd here now, like she was a bird trapped in a cage. Aries chirped from her shoulder, the gold firelizard casting wayward glances at whoever passed by. She had already lost her son to the fighting, she wouldn't lose anyone else too. Placing a gentle hand on the flit's back, Ara sent soothing thoughts to the creature. No one else was going to get hurt any time soon. Even those against the rebellion had seen enough blood shed for a while. Or so she hoped.
Will you look for him? Avirith's croon made Ara grit her teeth, balling her fists up in the white sands. I've avoided him since that incident with R'vin...why should I find him now? Because, you are worried that he is not even here. That cut right into her. Mumbling something about greens being too knowing for their own sharding good, Ara started to walk along the shore again in the hopes of finding a certain topazrider. Maybe she'd get lucky.....but she wasn't even sure what that luck would bring her. Did she want to see him?
Do I even need to ask myself that question?
And I’m surrounded by A million people I Still feel alone And I wanna go home Oh, I miss you, you know
Let me go home I’ve had my run Baby, I’m done I'm coming back home Let me go home It'll all be all right I’ll be home tonight I’m coming back home

It's dangerous to be out here. You should stay in the weyr. J'dol reprimanded the topaz dragoness. She was growing more and more stubborn lately and J'dol couldn't help but wonder why. I'm no safer there than I out here Mine. Those southern twats don't make it easy, regardless of where I decide to stay. Kayath retorted. She seemed to have grown more in the last few weeks than in the entirety of her weyrlinghood. This was all as tough on her as it was on J'dol. Thread, the war... he had always thought they would just get to fool around, but those days already seemed so long ago.
There was nothing you could do, J'dol. The rebellion is causing us harm. J'dol sighed, completely torn on the entire situation. In truth, he had hoped coming for a walk down to the shore would give him some time to get away from it all and just think. A sudden feeling of wary curiosity reached him from Kayath, and he stopped, still as stone as she sent him an image. It.. it couldn't be! He hadn't seen her in so long... hadn't seen her since.. that day...
Would things have turned out differently if he hadn't been such a child about it? Her 'secret' to him... about being in love... J'dol groaned to himself. Why, why had he shrugged it off and turned it into a joke! He had never even confirmed WHO it was she was talking about! He had just assumed the worst and escaped the situation. Had he known she would then go off and get herself involved in this stupid war like that...
He wanted to just turn and head the other way, avoid her altogether, but Kayath seemed to have other plans. The topaz swooped down to splash as daintily as a forty-six foot dragoness could into the water. What are you doing! I want to avoid. AVOID! Do you not know the meaning of the word?! He could have kicked her. He wanted to... not that it would accomplish anything at all. You are stressed. She is part of the reason. I'm creating a... what's it called... intervention. Now suck it up and stop being such a woman about it. The topaz snorted, taking a moment to settle herself into the water.
Oh darling. You look positively horrible. I guess this means you won't be worthy competition anymore. She said to Avirith, hoping to break the ice. Just because her rider was being a big baby didn't mean she wasn't allowed to see her friend after all.

Incoming Avirith.
Ara watched as an entirely familiar form shot toward the water, landing with a splash despite her obvious efforts to not make too much of a mess. It almost had the greenrider laughing, almost. Perhaps if it were just Kayath. Checking to make sure that it wasn't, or perhaps hoping that it was, Ara sighed and put her hands in her coat pockets. Riding gear was good for some things, at least when it was only the jacket part you had elected to take with you.
I look horrible?!? Who just fought to save your sorry tail! Avirith s snapped her jaws together as her wings flared and her tail lashed out behind her creating a wave of water that headed for the shore. Irritated that the larger dragoness had mentioned her wounds in such a way, Avirith hissed. Besides, she had just risked her life and the life of Hers in order to fight for the dragonet's freedom. And oh yes she was still a dragonet to Avirith despite only being a bit younger.
Her rider shook her head as she watched the green crouch low in the waves, her wings tucking tightly against her sides. Shes your friend dimglow! That got the green to straighten, tilting her head as she gave a soft keening sound. I am sorry.....it has not been an easy few days. The dragoness tentatively reached out with her head to nuzzle the younger female's shoulder.
"So, are we to make up and get on with our lives too J'dol?" She called to the topazrider, not caring that a few other riders looked at them for a moment before going back to their own issues. "Or should I call you Junior Weyrwoman now?" Ara laughed as she walked closer to the young man and finally stopped a bit away. "You going to stand there forever or give me a hug and say hello?"

Well, it was obvious there was no escaping now. Kayath couldn't have possibly made a bigger entrance and, if he wasn't mistaken, he could almost think Ara was actually looking for him. Was that a good thing? Or was she as intent on playing the avoiding game as he was? He should move... if not for himself, then because it was his duty to make sure that she was okay. Even as he told himself as much, he wasn't able to take that first step. All he could do was look at her, from where he stood.
Kayath growled, low in her throat as Avirith snapped at her. Well excuse me for caring then. Do you forget who I am? Shards, you're as bad as a sand-bound gold! The words were meant to be angry, but she couldn't say the last bit without sorrow creeping into her voice. Loraketh's passing was still too fresh to make such jests; the sorrow even overrode her annoyance at not being treated with her proper rank. She was (almost) top girl in the Weyr now after all. Luckily Avirith seemed to have come to her senses. it hasn't been easy for any of us. At least you had some freedom. Why was it that Avirith always seemed to have what kayath wanted? Even if that freedom had been taken away after the battle... The topaz dipped her head to nuzzle the green, glad, above all else, that she was still well enough to fight back.
J'dol shifted uneasily as Ara called to him. So.. she thought they were fighting? Well, he supposed being outright rejected for a semi-drunk confession of sorts could be called fighting... especially when it was between friends. However, to agree would be admitting that there was something to 'make up' over, and the young man wasn't willing to do that just yet. He hadn't been in the wrong really... she could have been talking about loving anyone, after all, and he didn't really want to hear it.
He scoffed as she mocked his title. "Weyrlord, to you Mr." He called back before realizing hwo stupid he sounded. Dammit! After all this time THAT was the first thing he said to her? His cheeks flushed a slight pink as he mentally berated his own patheticness. He definately needed to get that title to change... he didn't know how much longer he could handle being called a woman. Not that there was anything wrong with the fairer sex of course. He just wasn't exactly fair."I suppose if I absolutey MUST hold your beautiful body against my own then I will just have to take one for the team." He sighed dramatically, as if it was in fact the biggest sacrifice he would ever half to make. Taking a few steps he reached out and pulled her into a tight, if not short, embrace. "I'm glad you're both okay. You had me worried you know."
Kayath dipped her head in the water before snorting a comment to Avirith. If I didn't know any better I'd say he gets less intelligent every day.

Avirith chortled at the Topaz's comment, nodding her head as she waded back toward the shoreline. Her wings stretched out uncomfortably, the muscles tender and sore from overuse. I used to think that about AraMine too. She's different now though, more like what I saw all those turns ago. The green flicked her tail lazily, curling up on the sand to dry off in the morning sun. A few other dragons were doing the same and she dipped her head to one or two before laying it down on her forepaws.
She still has a long way to go though. Says who you overgrown flit? He's the one acting weird.....do you think he doesn't like me?!? Maybe that's why he's acting strained? Ara's mind raced on the inside but on the out she kept a composed attitude and hugged the rider back just as briefly as he has initiated. "Relax, I was teasing J'dol. Who knew you'd be so sensitive about your sexuality. I thought you didn't even care what others thought." She shrugged in an oh well manner and picked up a bit of shell. "So, I'm guessing things will be interesting now. I can't believe that Noita will just let this happen without a second try. Same with S'vrin and Ar'rex. They all are just too focused on winning. I suppose you'll need someone to keep you sane then."
The rider glanced around before narrowing her eyes and putting a hand on J'dol's arm. "Come on, let's go some place more private." Her voice stayed normal though she sidled up closer to him, lightly tugging on his arm and playing the part of a long lost lover. Casting another shifty glance at a group of riders nearby, Ara pulled a bit harder. "Talk to Kayath more often. I bet she's not happy with you being mad at her. Just because she decided to give up doesn't mean that it's bad." She tilted her head and raised her voice even louder for the now interested and watching riders.
"Come on...really, maybe I can convince you it's better to just go with it." Avi! The green who had been staring at Hers finally crooned in delight. Tell Yours to go along with her. Those are S'vrin's riders. Iliath's Own taught us who is who. They can't talk here, and it's better to fool them into thinking we are harmless. Quick Kayath. The green nudged the Topaz as she walked by, her tail flicking flirtatiously at one of the rider's blues before she moved on.

Kayath remained in the water a moment longer, contemplating the green's words before strutting out of the water herself, showing off a bit more than normal for nearby males, though likely because Avirith was glinting in the sun; she wasn't going to get less attention than the green if she had her way. The J'dol I picked that day is still there, but the stress is affecting him. He says he just needs a good romp in the furs. The topaz said it for both Avirith and their riders to hear, and it was said so offhandedly that it was almost as if she didn't understand the context, though J'dol had to fight back a light blush of embarassment at her bluntness. Kayath... The topaz flicked her wing in response, not really caring.
He grimaced as talk of the rebellion surfaced. He hated what they were doing to Trelis, though if they could get rid of those damn Southerners than he could afford to ignore them for now. How much longer would Trelis manage if they kept stealing food and candidates from under their noses? "A sane mind would be nice, though I doubt I'll find any of them amongst the rebellion." It slipped out before he could stop himself. He didn't want to fight with her, but he wasn't entirely fond of the Trelis riders who had abandoned the Weyr to fight in the rebellion. The Weyr needed every ally it could get, and losing riders was NOT helping.
An eyebrow shot up in surprise as she pressed up close to him. She didn't make up THAT fast did she? What happened to the strained tension of a moment before? And her talk of Kayath being angry... just what was she going on about? Avirith says those riders belong to that wherry-brained fool. It would be wise to play along. She spoke to Hers before adding a side comment to Avirith. You're lucky I am fond of you teach. I don't take kindly to being bossed around. She rose and stretched, once again showing off just how gorgeous she thought she was. J'dol's signature smirk crossed his face. Play along? He could do that, it would definately be more fun than anything else he could be doing.
"You know... I happened to get a new bed while you were away... Maybe you should come help me break it in?" Like Ara, he spoke louder than he normally would have, glancing at the riders in question quickly, not at all liking how close they seemed now. He rose, holding out his hand to help her up. At least his Weyr had some privacy... not many wanted to tempt fate by spying on a Topaz after all.

Avirith chortled again at the Topaz, flicking her sore wings until they opened. Oh this was going to be great fun. All in sarcasm's world though. Biting back a hiss as the flight muscles strained, Avirith circled above the Weyr and headed for Kayath's cave. It was certainly roomy enough for them both. Crooning great fully when her feet finally touched down, Avirith sagged down to the floor and whimpered, craning her neck around to nudge her wings in against her sides. I don't remember ever hurting so much in my life.
Ara raised an eye-brow at Kayath's comment, and before she could stop herself her thoughts slipped off her tongue. "I think a lot of people could use a good romp as she puts it." Realizing what she had said, Ara blushed as well, stopping at a firm scolding she gave herself. However, it didn't make her move away, especially since he was.....oh Faranth did he have to play along that well? Temporarily, thankfully, distracted from J'dol's words by Avirith's Ara muttered quietly in response to her green's complaints. "I remember a time you were this tired and sore.....weren't the only one."
Pulling away enough to start walking, she let J'dol lead her to wherever it was now he was staying. It was nice to see the familiar walls and tapestries, corridors and even a few faces. However, she couldn't shake the feeling quite yet that she was trapped. Finally, only when they were safe in the topazrider's Weyr did she relax and then only partially. "Thank Faranth for broody Topaz dragons. I swear, wonder what she'll be like on the sands. You'll have your hands full then." Sitting on the aforementioned bed, Ara didn't quite remember J'dol's comment until a few moments had passed, and then she jumped up and went for a chair instead.
"Heh, ummmmr.......so whatcha been up to?" Titling her head the greenrider perched on the chair's arm, carefully eying the half-asleep green in the adjoining cave. "Have to get something for those scratches sometime. Wing muscles just need time to heal and relax.....maybe a dip in the ocean later again will soothe it." Avirith crooned a small sound, not doing anything other than flicking the very tip of her tail. Even that seemed to hurt.

Kayath was in the air almost as quick as Avirith, though only because she spared that really cute blue a second glance before taking off. She gave Avirith an image of her ledge's location and J'dol was actually surprised to see her fly below and a bit behind Avirith. It appeared she did actually care for others from time to time. Once Avirith had safely touched down, Kayath circled for a moment to let the green settle in, letting Avirith have her choice of spots only because she had gone and injured herself. Make yourself comfortable Avirith, rest if you'd like. There are no prying eyes here. Kayath commented as she settled at the cave entrance in such a way that she could watch who came near her ledge. If Avirith was this worried about it, then she would at least play the gracious host and keep an eye out.
J'dol actually chuckled at Ara's comment, and had to fight not to laugh outright at the look on her face at his own comment. Perhaps he could have just invited her up instead... though the blush made it worthwhile. Deep in his own thoughts, he missed her mumbled response to Avirith, and instead lead the way to his private weyr, not far from the regular Weyrwomen's quarters, though up a level. He walked slow enough for it to look like they were simply on a stroll, and he was pleasant to anyone they passed, but he was thankful when they reached his room. He chuckled as she parted from him and he turned to call down the chute for klah.
"I don't know if I'm quite ready to handle that. She's demanding enough already." He replied, to which Kayath snorted indignantly from where she lay. Turning around once the klah arrived, he smirked as he noticed where she had decided to sit. 3... 2... 1... Almost on cue she hopped off and found a chair, as if remembering what he had said to get them here. Placing the klah on his desk, within reach of Ara, and smirked at her.
"Geez Ara, it's not like I'm going to bite you." He chuckled, "Unless you want me to." He took a sip of klah while he thought. "You don't want to know what I've been up to I'm afraid." He said sadly. "That rebellion group is causing a fair bit of trouble for us here." He left it at that, not wanting to go into it. He didn't miss the glances at Avirith though.
"I have a bit of numbweed up here if she's in pain..." He pointed to a small shelf along the edge of the cave before sitting down on the bed. Faranth knew it was comfier than the chair. "Don't worry Ara, I was just playing along. You don't have to be so tense here." He meant it honestly for once. They needed to truly make up before he could start messing with her in earnest again.
"What have you been doing, other than getting yourself into trouble I mean."

She got up as he pointed out the numbweed, leaving the Klah where it sat. She didn't react to the might be hurting part of his comment, biting her tongue instead to keep from lashing out at him. The greenrider knew better than to say things unchecked with J'dol. It always ended badly if she remembered right. "Thank you. She is hurting. She's not used to flying so long, and then it isn't in a dragons nature to fight their own kind. I'm amazed that the animosity of the riders was so great to cause such a thing to happen. Of course, the rebels had reason."
She called back from the cave, smoothing the salve on the thick gash. It would scar most likely, but Avirith would live. "It's just too bad it's on your neck. Anything you do hurts it." The green crooned, licking her rider's hand instead of nuzzling it. Little by little the dragoness was falling asleep, overcome with exhaustion. "I know the rebellion isn't always right, they're trying though. That's what counts. If no one tried.....imagine what would happen. I just don't want...I don't want you or any of the others to get hurt."
She sat down next to him, ignoring the Firelizards hatching in her stomach. Nerves would do her no good. "I've been to fight, and to lead. They....they had me in charge of one of the smaller groups. And Panille taught me how to use a bow, I'm not half bad actually. I can hold my own in a knife-fight too. Beat one of the rebels that was helping us learn. We were here you know, we never really left. We just slept during the day and practiced at night. No one noticed really in all the chaos. S'vrin and Ar'rex had already gotten their followers into the Weyr before Loraketh betweened. What happened would have happened anyway with or without the rebellion. Faranth knows it may have started here instead, maybe even with you. They'd be calling it the Topaz Revellion then wouldn't they? Noita just beat everyone to it."
Alyara scooted up the bed to the headrest, curling up against it and closing her eyes. "It's....strange being home again. I feel happy to be on The Island, but I'm terrified to be here J'dol. You're not the reason I'm tense. Although, we did leave each other in quite the predicament last time didn't we? I was, different back then. I had no clue what I wanted, even if I did know I was too scared it would disappear on me." She knew exactly why that was that way too. How long had she believed the stories of her life her "mother" had told her?
Mother....is she okay? Avirith didn't have an answer for her.

It was likely for the better that Ara hadn't made any retort; J'dol was stressed enough to let silly things bother him. As it was, having Ara here wasn;t exactly helping his stress levels. He was worried about stepping over the invisible line that existed between them now.
"I just wish their reason didn't involve damaging Trelis' tithes and stealing our candidates." He mumbled back sourly, still annoyed at the sheer amount of paperwork he had to do to figure out where their food stores were falling low. "She's strong, she'll recover in time." He finally responded loud enough for her to hear from the cave. He knew it sounded lame but he wasn't sure what else to say. He knew Avirith wouldn't allow an injury to take her down that easily.
He scooted over subconsciously to make sure Ara had enough room to be comfortable. "Oh, maybe I should be wary about letting you into my room then. Don't want to tick you off and wake up dead eh?" He joked, hoping to relieve a little bit of the tension. She was talking seriously though, and he didn't want her to think he was trying to blow her off. "Still feels like you aren't here when we don't see you for a long time." He outright laughed at the idea of Kayath leading the rebellion, and the topaz was quick to toss her two marks into the conversation, speaking so both J'dol and Ara would hear her.
Oh please. I don't need some troublesome rebellion to prove my worth. That's for that sister of mine, and the wench. She never seemed to use Talath's or Chahaturth's names anymore, as if saying them was a curse of some sort. J'dol's smile faltered. "Sometimes I wish we could just up and go... fight for our rights as dragons and riders... fight to prove that the colour of your hide doesn't mean you aren't a real dragon." He sighed, trailing off for a minute as his face seemed to age with the stress he was feeling about the entire ordeal. "We have a duty here though. A duty to protect those who can't do anything... hopefully without shedding much more blood."
He remained sitting as she scooted into a rather comfortable looking position. Shards, it was like she wanted him to take advantage of her. She was playing a cruel game with him then and it took all his will power not to lie down next to her. "We... we were drunk..." He replied lamely, as if the tiny bit of alcohol was a good excuse. Faranth knew she was aware that he had only been tipsy and in full control of himself at the time. "Not to mention, making me jump in that freezing river was just plain mean." He added on as a joke, though the experience hadn't been entirely unpleasant... which reminded him; he needed to find R'vin at some point and mess with the poor guy. Don't cause trouble J'dol.

She blinked, unbelievingly.
"I said all that and you still don't get it do you? Are you that afraid of me? I'm one to talk though, afraid of you just as much perhaps. We play this game time and time again, too worried about losing to ever really to for it. I'm glad I got drunk that time. It was the most honest I've been in turns, yet even then you only remember the parts why that were just fun little past times. Not that it wasn't worth it. Life is made up of those tiny moments, and certainly messing with R'vin was amusing."
She held her head up by her hand, looking at him. "I wonder sometimes what would have happened if I had just kept my mouth shut. Then again, I had promised to tell the truth hadn't I? I bet you don't even realize what that truth was though. Or if you do, what am I doing here if you are acting as you are? Unless it really has just settled back into whatever semblance of a platonic relationship existed before." Avirith rolled her eyes, snorting at her rider's words.
Less words love. You're being a complicated mess again. The green didn't bother keeping it to herself, it was easier to just let her thoughts free. "Yeah maybe I like being complicated. Gotta have something to keep them interested." At the green's second snort, Ara threw a pillow at the green's head through the entrance to the cave hitting her exactly on target. The dragoness shook the offended appendage, her eyes spinning an irritated orange but she crooned happily enough. Fine, let's see what you can do on your own then.

She... she... what was she even saying? J'dol's mouth hung open as she rambled at him. He was an intelligent enough man, but even still, so many words in such a short time was overwhelming! He wasn't quite sure how to respond, completely dumbstruck. Trying to catch vtol's dear? Or is your mouth hanging open because you're an idiot? He snapped his jaw closed with a light blush and looked away from Ara.
"I just wasn't expecting that, can't blame me for that." He replied stubbornly. "Last I checked you were head over heals for some idiot bronzerider. It wasn't my place to know who else might have stolen your heart." He didn't mean to be vicious about it... but the idea that he, J'dol, was afraid of something just didn't sit right with him. Add on his commitment issues and believing that Ara had been talking about him was just impossible. "Obviously, you're here because I am simply that charming and handsome. My awesome brings all the girls to the weyr you know. " He teased before Avirith's voice became heard. He had to agree with her, less words were sometimes better. Easier to keep track of and what not.
"Oy! That's my pillow!" He yelped as his pillow, his FAVOURITE pillow, went zipping into the cave to bonk the green on the head. He gave Ara a dramatic look of absolute betrayal. "Now how am I going to manage being comfortable on my own bed with one of my pillows gone?" Well, there was a second pillow but he wouldn't take that from Ara.. unless it looked like she was going to use it as a projectile as well. Well, in truth he just didn't know how to deal with the seriousness of their relationship chat.

She recoiled as he mentioned S'bel. If she were a flit she would have hissed, and because she couldn't, Aries did from her place near the window. "Don't say that....please. Biggest mistake of my life, but it took it to realize something. I'm not entirely sure if you're ready to know yet what I realized." Ara grabbed the other pillow as he made a fuss about the first, playing with it by tossing it up in the air and catching it before finally curling around it.
"Oh, well I'm plenty comfortable. You know what though, take it." She tossed it to him, smiling happily. "Maybe I can just use you." Except it wasn't a question. It was an answer. She wouldn't tell him straight off that she liked him, that she loved him, that the entire reason she had become a rebel was to be able to protect him somehow. She would however allow this, and maybe little by little he would understand. Sheds rangy knew she had enough to make up for already.
Avirith nudged the little pillow with her snout, tossing it over to Kayath with her tail. Giving the topaz a, what In bored, look she yawned wide and curled her tail over her front paws again. At least there was no one to fight, no one to harm, no mess to be cleaned, and hopefully no broken hearted rider to comfort. At least, there wasn't for now. For Avirith, that was as good as anything right now.

J'dol grimaced, realizing he was acting childishly over the ordeal. It wasn't up to him who Ara decided to be with anyways. "Hey... are you saying I'm still just a kid?" He couldn't help but feel a bit miffed at her comment of readiness. Though, when it came to relationships she was completely right. It was why he had been such a dick that night in the forest... He eyed her warily as she tossed his pillow about, preparing to rescue it if he needed to. He caught it reflexively when she finally tossed it to him and sighed, trying to hide the goofy grin that seemed to want to show.
Tossing the pillow on the bed he flopped onto it and pretended to squirm, trying to get comfy. "I'm afraid I'm not quite as comfy as a pillow." He replied, subconsiously flexing lightly. He was proud of his build, but it didn't exactly make him soft and pillow-y. It was definately for the better that she didn't tell him why she had joined the rebellion. Having the title of Weyrwoman was already a big enough blow to his manhood without knowing a girl was fighting to protect him. The poor guy could only handle so much. He reached over and pulled her closer, acting as the pillow she had claimed him to be.
"The things you do to me, woman..." He mumbled quietly.
Kayath looked back when the pillow landed on her. She was going to make a snide comment about how Avirith was supposed to be injured, but the green looked awfully comfortable and it just felt wrong to fight, even playfully. She lifted the pillow in her teeth and tossed it back, aiming for the green's nose.

So, she did things to him did she?
Ara snuggled up against J'dol's side, flushing herself against his body and laying her head on his chest. It felt nice, comforting to be in his arms, and she definitely didn't want to move...even if her arm was starting to fall asleep. "What kind of things?" Her voice held a hint of mischief in it as she spoke, her eyes closing however as her breathing slowed.
Couldn't she just stay here forever, what was the problem with that? It was just so peaceful. There was nothing to worry about, nothing to fear. She was safe and happy...but that wasn't the real world. There had been a battle, many had died, some even people that she was close to. How could she be so blissfully unaware now? "Eventually they'll want to see you and Iirla I'm guessing...what are we going to do? Most of the Weyr is on their side, it'd be chaos to go against it right now. There needs to be a plan."
The greenrider quieted again, her mind buzzing with possibilities. Sighing, she nuzzled into J'dol's embrace more. She didn't want to think of any of that, and she found herself saying as much. "Part of me just doesn't want to do anything though. So many were hurt or killed today, and for what? I understand the rebellion's main motives, but not theirs. Why is something so minor in the grand scheme of things such a fearful idea? Then again, any sort of change tends to scare people."
Curling herself into a semi-formed ball against the topazrider's side, Ara closed her eyes again and tried to forget about it all. She just wanted to forget, just forget. She had been so worried about him, but he was safe, and he was in her arms. "I'm just glad you and Kayath are alright." Ara found herself making patterns on the rider's stomach, and abruptly poked the area. "Someone's been working out."
Avirith crooned from inside the cave as Kayath tossed the pillow back. Fluttering her wings to put them in a more comfortable position, she nosed it back. For now they could play, just like their riders. They could play, and they could forget. There would be a time later on where they would have to worry more.
