A tiny black speck appeared on the horizon bound for Trelis. It was apparent it was a dragonrider but what color? In a few moments, they approached the Weyr. It became more apparent that the color was.....brown? No, No...Bronze!
The bronze dragon was having a bit of trouble flying. It was a little choppy and not at all smooth. He bugled an alarm for fear of a crash landing. The rider told him not to worry and that he was doing just fine but the bronze knew better.
The bronze started to come in for a landing.
Incoming!! the bronze exclaimed.

Abyrath watched from the ground, the speck coming close. Wasn't he coming much too fast? Poor dear!! Slow down!
He is going to crash!! Mine!!!! The tiny purple dragoness sprang into the air, well aware she could do little to help the large Bronze. She had to help. Do something, anything.
Dear-dear! Please! You are doing great. Take a deep breath. I can guide you. Oh-yes yes! Your tiny little helper-friend Abyrath is here. You are strong. Let us fly and land. I know a brave and fine fellow like you can do this. Do not fear mighty Bronze-friend!
With a trumpet of hopeful words, the amethyst darted near.

Is that.... ...a dragon? It is a dragon Little One. I don't care AkiluMine! It's not him! That one's arrival is quite the....strange occurrence. So, he's still not as great as I am...never will be.
It was odd to see any dragon come up to Trelis that was not one of the Weyr's own creatures. It was more strange to see a King of all things arrive. Some thought perhaps that it was from the same Weyr where Rikula and Iskra had hailed from, others that it was a Rebellion scout. However, one thing seemed to be on everyone's mind...just who was this Bronze and rider?
Miyaka tried to ignore her own dragonet's curious, and not too happy, grumblings. "Tennath, shove it between. I'm working. If you're curious you can go find out what's going on by yourself....take Aedaluth with you though, she's practically quivering with curiosity." The young King snorted at the idea, staring at the dark amethyst who was looking into the skies with wide-eyes. Taking a quick look to her rider to make sure Tk'ri would be fine, the weyrling being the current patient Miyaka was working with, the dragonet nudged her classmate toward the outside where the bronze was no doubt going to land.
However, another quick look and the shout made it clear that the King was not going to do so in a nice and orderly fashion. I do believe that he is going to crash.....you should move. Looking toward her side where Tennath had been lounging in wait, the amethyst shrugged her wings and glided up onto a higher ledge as the king blinked and looked upward, blanching at the sight that awaited him. You've got to be shardin' kidding me! Ash-snuffing, can't fly a wherry, excuse for a Bronze. Can't even land straight, honestly.
The young dragon shuffled backward quickly, flopping over as his tail tripped him and landing in a heap of bronze wings and limbs. From above Aedaluth chortled softly, her gaze shifting from the useless form of her clutchsibling to that of the new arrival. Spreading her wings, the small dragonet shook her head and folded them back again, curling her tail over her paws. You really do poorly exemplify what an astounding King should appear to be as Tennath. How do you function properly? The dragon in question only growled up at the smaller female, his eyes red and yellow as he righted himself and waited for whatever would happen next. Aedaluth was not one for waiting at this moment, though her rider would have her do otherwise.
No, Aedaluth was too curious at the moment to just simply stand still and wait. Tilting her head the dragonet crooned and scratched at the rock absentmindedly. What brings you here to our beautiful home stranger? Should we call for our Queens and Princesses, or do you have some other means to an end that you wish to accomplish?

Corth was afriad that he was going to crash land due to his handicap.
Let me be your eyes, my friend. Furl your wings to slow your approach. Listen to your little dragon friend. At'kal said. Corth did as he was told. Corth was in a panicked state and wasn't thinking straight. He slowed his approach.
Being half blind, it wasn't easy for Corth to master flight anymore. He was comfortable on the ground but when he got in the air, he was like a Weyrling again trying to fly.
I am going to crash! I know it! Corth exclaimed. It was a challenge for the large Bronze every time he got in the air. There came a time when the dragon didn't want to fly anymore, not even mating flights. At'kal tried to convince him to face his fear but Corth was too stubborn and wouldn't do it. He would rather go in /between/ but At'kal said that would be too easy and not facing his fear.
At'kal was right and Corth knew it. Corth needed to do this. It was all part of being a dragon. Drills, Mating Flights, Thread..all of it was in the air.

Tilt a little left, that's right. Let me..... be your eyes! Abyrath saw the clouded eye of Corth, and she knew she could help. Or atleast try. Gingerly, she forced her own sight toward his mind, willing to open herself to him. He would not crash. He could not crash. Not if the tiny 13 foot amethyst could help it.
Oh Dear-King! Please, I know you can do this. Let us try! Don't fear! Don't fear! With a boldness quite normal for Abyrath, she let her wings brush Corth's side. Her tail rested on one large flank, eyes watching his descent intently.
Your disability makes you grand, special. You are not less because of it. I am tiny, though fully grown. Won't you just try for me? I do not doubt you!
Abyrath already felt like she'd made a friend. She quite respected this bronze. She was one to value all dragons, blind or not. Then she remembered something... Her baby. Her little wingless daughter back at the Rebellion.... Her little Ninianeth!! Eyes whirled blue-grey for a brief moment, before the memory was forced away. No. Not now.
She focused on the ground before them, hoping he'd use her gaze. She was trying to direct them toward the small body of water near the weyr. Perhaps a crash water coarse would be safer?

Thank you, brave Abyrath. Corth said simply and got the image from her, focused on it and banked slightly to the left. He was still a little shaky on his flying but doing a bit better. He then saw the small body of water, about the size of a lake, she was leading him to.
Corth didn't care what color any dragon was. He believed that all creatures were equal and so did At'kal. Yes, they were rare entities to approach Trelis Weyr. They both were equally rare in their attitude towards everything. At'kal and Corth did not have the arrogant nature that other Bronzeriders had normally.
They were both grateful for little Abyrath and not just because she was helping them down. Corth would be a great friend to anyone who would give him a chance. He was wounded. His heart broken from the Gold that always had his memory and that he could never have for only a few moments. All that was stripped away when the other Bronze slashed his eye and made half blind. Corth wasn't looking for any pity, he was looking for one mate for him and At'kal. It had been too long since his dragon was even considering a mating flight. It was time.
At'kal was anxious as well. The Bronzer knew that how dragonflights were and understood Corth would be successful the first few times out. It was a challenge for poor At'kal to get his dragon's confidence up and encourage him to Fly again.

Brave? Oh he called her brave!!! Abyrath was quite flattered. Corth did not say tiny or little or small. He said brave. Brave!! She dipped lower, giving a happy little twist. Truly this wonderful King had to be adored by many? He was such a different King. She rather liked his reserved nature. He seemed afraid or even hurt, emotionally. It made the little purple dragoness want to help. She could be his other eye. His friend. She would be whatever she could be. Abyrath decided that. Yes. Her mind was made.
DearKing! We are nearly done! I hope you do not mind a water landing? I thought that might be the easiest way down...
Abyrath was near the bronze again, watching him with adoration and happiness. She was glad. She was good for something.
(sorry its short!! I hope that's enough to post with)

((Its fine.))
Corth chuckled a bit.
Of course not. It would be grand, my friend. Besides I could use a little bath! Corth still had questions for the purple dragoness but those would have to wait until they were both on the ground, safely.
At'kal looked at the Weyrlings on the ground and waved to them.
Love, don't be rude. Answer the young one's question. The Bronzer told him. Corth wasn't ignoring the Weyrling's question, it was just that the dragon was more focused on getting himself down safely at the moment.
I apologize for my late response, young one. He was talking to Aedaluth. We are here to start anew. We come from Fort Weyr. I shall tell you more when we land. He replied.

Abyrath angled toward the lake, letting her sight be shared still with Corth. She was ready to get her very large friend to a safe landing. Mine! When her bonded did not reply, Abyrath snorted and glared intently at the ground. Mine! Miiiine! Mine!!! Come to the water! Mine! Come at once!
Ka'mond was startled by Abyrath's impatience. He moved as fast as he could, jogging to where his purple dragon had commanded. With a moment of searching the air, he found his dragoness.... with... with a very large..... Bronze!!
Mine. My friend is now coming to land. Beware!
With that short warning, Abyrath nudged Corth. Now , DearFriend shall we land?

Corth rumbled with amusement and crooned.
Ah, You are a gem my friend! Of course. Corth started to lick Abyrath's neck as he sped up next to her. His length dwarfed hers but he didn't care. At'kal smiled at his affectionate gesture.
At'kal chuckled and said nothing. He just winked at Abyrath. At'kal accepted everyone as they were. Who was he to judge people? He had no right to. Just as his father had no right to accuse him of such crimes.
Corth growled at His for thinking of such a thing. Silent words went between them and At'kal patted his dragon's neck and smiled, apologetically.

It came as a surprise, the bronze's gesture. To those below, it might look ridiculous, a giant with one so tiny. That thought, however, did not dare echo in the amethyst's mind.
Abyrath had never thought about or hadn't considered a mate. Only because what hope was there for such a small dragon? But even if she had dreamed, a Bronze never would have seemed likely.
Ka'mond soon figured out (as much as he could assume) that this was something better, or atleast not something bad as he'd expected. Abyrath's delight and joy was heavy in their shared minds, making the young man smile. Yes. Good for his little Abyrath.
Such a kind King! And she'd merely done what any dragon with a speck of soul should have. Friends are support for those in need, right?
You flatter me, King! With a twist and an almost shy giddiness, she returned Corth's affection. Yes. Her Bronze. Her King. The mixture of emotion that was pumping throughout Abyrath was static and hard to pin-point. But delight, glee, and adoration might fit as description.
The water was growing steadily larger. GrandKing, our little adventure safely draws to a close. But that does not mean our thrills are over.
If a dragon could smile, the purple female would have been beaming. Her little body might explode with the wonders of the unbelievable event in progress.
Her Bronze. Yes, indeed hers.

Corth warbled in excitement with Abyrath's returned affection and the excitement of a new mate since they left home was something. For Corth, this meant everything to him. The acceptance of another dragon. Most females didn't give them both the time of day.
Of course, I am ready. I will be thrilled if you would have dinner with me tonight. He crooned a purr. When the body of water got close enough, he slid down with a splash.
At'kal swam to the shore. His auburn wet hair and his shirt sticking to his body because he was soaked. If anyone saw him now, they would think that he was sexy. Not that he was meaning to, it just came off that way.

Abyrath bugled with glee, splashing into the water near Corth. Perhaps nearer than most her size would dare, as she hardly had an idea of danger. Mine! Tonight I have dinner with wonderful Corth!! Promise you'll wash and oil me? And you should get to know his rider! Yes!! Oh funfunfun!
Then to Corth she crooned. Dinner sounds..... Romantic! She shook her body, tail wiggling as water dripped off of purple hide.
Ka'mond made his way toward the Bronzerider, throwing a puzzled look at his dragon. With a shrug, he waved at At'kal. Of course Abyrath. I need to get you all nice anyway... Later we will get your hide gleaming again.
Abyrath was glad. Glad to have a good Hers. And glad to have such a big handsome friend! But... would this cause trouble??

G'daroMine, someone new has come to the weyr. Banemith suddenly called out. He wandered to the Bowl and spotted Abryath and... a bronze trying to steal her away from him! His eyes swirled with a blood red; how dare that bronze try to steal his prize and mother of his only daughter! He roared and charged at the bronze, nearly tackling him to the ground. STAY. AWAY. FROM. HER. YOU. BASTARD! he gasped. He turned his head to Abyrath and hissed: You. Back to the Weyr. NOW! He then led his amythest away. G'daro hurried to the scene of the crime and went over to the bronzerider. "Sorry about that. My dragon really gets upset when someone tries to steal his 'mate'" he told him.

NO! NOO! STOP! Abyrath's shriek was everywhere-every mind. There was terror, horror and sheer grief. No! Stop this!
She wiggled away from Banemith. He was her Prince-had been her first and the father of her clutch. If this didn't cause so much emotion perhaps his protection would have flattered the purple dragon.... But it greatly upset her. Banemith! Don't touch me! Please... Her heart felt as if it were breaking, the sound could be heard in her words. She'd hardly seen tail or hide of Banemith lately- atleast since her return.....
And this bronze was so kind. So openly hers. So charming and.... she did not care that he was blind. That made him greater.
Banemith.... oh Banemith! I don't want to fight... I... just want.... If she had to ability to cry, she would've. Her heart thudded painfully in her chest. Who did she choose? Suddenly, Banemith was almost to ready to kill another dragon for her sake. Little Abyrath did not want that. She was not in danger. But their relationship might be...
Ka'mond jerked backwards, screaming as the dragons roared. He screamed in anger' and fear. He didn't want this either... One look at G'daro had him feeling exposed. Because as flights worked....
Biting his lip, Ka'mond approuched the two riders. "Can't we let Abyrath choose?" his voice was soft, perhaps worried.
You are-were not a bad mate Banemith. No doubt one day you will get what you deserve. I am... confused. But... I think I know who to choose...
With a fearful dart, she half hid half stood behind Corth's forelegs. She didn't realize it but she was shaking.....
