Linda tried to pretend that she didn't even see Firo, but that smirk he gave her she couldn't let him go without it. She just rolled her eyes at him before she turned her back to him pretty much to look back at the hatchlings. Now see that was an actually pretty green... amethyst... mixture? Linda was now smiling again now completely forgetting all the problems and F'ro she should call him now as she watched the two greens start to impress. Of course she didn't know who or what the other green impressed on but she wasn't searching anymore so maybe that was a good thing.
What really was bothering her though, and she wasn't letting it show at all she would be a laughing stock otherwise.... Was that F'ro did impress and she hadn't yet.. not that she didn't mind she was without a Dragon but... Where did this sadness and Loneliness come from? Was it because her little thorn in her side sparring partner wouldn't be able to be around as much... That they could no longer spar or attack each other as much without possibly harming his Brown?
A weight settled in her chest, a feeling she never knew before and it wasn't of the good sort... Linda started to frown but then shook her head, she would figure out what kind of feeling it was after the hatching right now there was still eggs it seemed? Quickly she wiped away the tears that were threatening to come out and forced her emotions down to be bottled up for now.
Jessee... well J'see now just stood there and stared at the green in front of him... This couldn't be happening could it? this was... a female dragon... no he was for a male... no he... She was pretty though.... His eyes took in more of her hide and slowly a grin started to spread across his face. Thoughts about manly male dragons ebbed out of his mind as he noticed she was not just a green but one of those Amethysts it seemed too. She was unique, she was outstanding, she was gorgeous!!
Why thank you mine, I do believe you are yourself as well so that makes us a set does it not? J'see just chuckled a little bit and gave a nod, winced though as he remembered a rib was indeed broken. "Oh yes Granselth... let us go get you some food I think I might even have an idea for a blanket for you. I was thinking something of a darker purple actually then what you have with green embroidery on it." Granselth gave a little croon and followed her new rider to the food as they went off in their own little happy colorful world of sewing and beauty.

It wasn't possible. It just wasn't possible, it couldn't...no, she wouldn't believe that it had happened!
Inali let out a little shriek as the voice poured into her mind cutting through the memory of Loraketh's, the newly hatched green's mind a hot iron against her emotions. No! I have a dragon, I have one, I don't want you! She hissed through gritted teeth as she shook her head, hands clenching against the temples of her forehead as she curled in on herself and fell to the floor. This wasn't possible, she wasn't supposed to be bonded to that...that thing!
Calm MyLittleOne. Calm now, your Rudith is here...I am sorry for your loss, but I am here now. I am what matters, only I.
The green's voice was so certain, so calm and soothing that little bit by little bit Inali found her body relaxing, the tension leaving her sore muscles as she let her legs unfurl from her body and finally stand up wobbling to and fro. How? Well, that was the big question but Inali didn't care anymore. She had a little green to go and pick up down there, Rudith was calling her...yes, she was calling her, and they had plans didn't they? Yes, this would go well, more well than she could have ever hoped. That's what Inali forced herself to think as she stepped shakily down one step and then the other, her head held high despite her body shaking visibly.
Every step toward that dragonet was one more step from the life she had led before, and the memory of another impression to another dragonet echoed in her mind. No! No! NO! Loraketh's voice rang through Inali's mind, and quickly Rudith shot it down with a hiss and flick of her tail, her own will forcing its way into Inali's mind. She. Is. Not. Real! I am real! I am alive! Inali nodded her head, breathless as she came to a stop in front of the green, unable to hold herself any longer and falling to the hot sands. Her arms wound themselves around the green, a confused and hurt expression on her face as she blinked away tears that blurred her vision.
Enough of this now, I am hungry and we shall eat. Up!....up MineLove, up now LittleOne. Be strong, you have me now, you are already strong. Come now, get up...that's it.
Inali rose to her feet for the second time shakily, refusing the arm that tried to help steady her as Inoria ran to her mother. "Momma get Greeny...Momma get draggie!" The child's happy voice was an ache in Inali's ears though, and amongst the other chaos of her impression it didn't go over well. Inali shook her head, waving her hand in front of the girl and then pointing to the stands. "Go." The one word was chilled, Rudith giving a devious, purring croon as she titled her head and watched the little girl back away slowly from her mother. My MommaQueen!
Rudith snorted, an amused glint swirling into her eyes. We shall see...

K'r's somewhere between being unconscious and being aware. It's an interesting state, the world around him is moving in and our wiggling and writhing as though its alive and for some reason he's only seeing half of the things in front of him. It doesn't help any that his stomach is reminding him painfully that he's hungry though he knows that isn't proper because that's not his feelings, its Pastenutth. Wow, what a mouthful. The part of him not paying any mind to much thinks it's best to just call him Stripe. Or perhaps Paste if he dislikes Stripe.
Paste, K'rMine you cannot! I will accept Stripe With a sigh the bronze nuzzles lovingly under his riders arm turning his gaze to watch as K'r unknowingly links his hand with J'dol. If dragons could smirk he would have, as it were he just nods sagely. Yes, his rider feels happy so this is a good thing perhaps.
He's sad when the little girl does not come over to see him, he gives one last look to the hatchling human before he turns to nudge Jdol in the upper thigh. All the meat form his bowl is gone and he's hungry but-what is this?! His eyes catch a glimpse of Kayath and he flushes in embarrassment. Oh how rude!
Can yours feed me? Mine can not right now he is-ooh he's not here K'r had turned his head upward to give J'dol a look about to mention that bleeding from a shardin gash on your head was not a scratch-when he passes out completely his hand death locked around the mans.
The healer looks entirely fare to amused as she finished up the stitches wrapping his head in bandages and cleans up the wine and blood stains. "Looks like he's your problem," She smirks.
Xxxxxxxxx
He'esis stifles his smirk of amusement as the boy comes back from passing out to scream at him. He accepts the wine skin setting it to the side as he tugs off his outer tunic placing it with great care over the candidates ;special parts. "There, now no one can see." He tells him with laughter in his voice.
The wound was deep but it was a clean cut and he manages to bandage it up while checking the candidate to make sure hes not about to fall over again. Now if you can put your hand over my shoulder I can get you standing up and we can wait for your dragon, hows that sound Handsome? His eyes sparkle with amusement as he tries to hoist the boy to his feet pressing his tunic to his lower regions to protect his dignity.

Koroniket could hear the laughter in He'esis' voice and didn't like it. Why was he laughing? Did he not think everyone wanted to catch a glimpse of the magnificence between Ko's legs? Maybe he just wasn't very impressive down there, didn't understand how often people were craning their neck to see you. That must be it. Poor thing. Ko decided not to bring it up explicitly and held back his real concern - he didn't want anyone to be jealous. Best not to say that. "I just don't want any small children learning about things before their parents want." That was a valid excuse, right? Right. It sounded fine to Koroniket and avoided any more embarrassing reasons for being uncomfortable baring it all.
At least He'esis didn't look too horrified during this whole process. That had to mean the wound wasn't too bad. Even if Koroniket did feel like passing out again would be the easiest course of action right now. He'esis, however, seemed to think it would be better if he stood up. It sounded questionable to him, but He'esis was the professional here. He wrapped his arm around He'esis shoulders, planning to tell him that they could just head over to his bronze instead of waiting for the bronze to come here. Before he could get a word out, however, he found himself cupped by He'esis hand. He let out a little squeak, too stunned even to bat the offending hand off, at first. He simply stared down at his groin. Yes, there was a bit of fabric preventing direct contact, but He'esis' fingers were very much wrapped around Ko's-
He let out another little noise, batting pathetically at He'esis' hand. "That's quite enough of that!" Ko did not appreciate (what he saw as) He'esis fondling his jewels one bit!

Oh he would simply have to tease him about this later, J'dol mused as Kr's fingers twined with his own. J'dol looked away from Kyp at the nudge to his thigh, and he looked at the bronze in surprise, wondering what he could want with him. He hungers, J'dol, His has not been able to feed him much. He believes K'r is not there? She sent to J'dol before sending happy feelings at Pastanutth. Mine will take care of you and Yours, handsome.
J'dol snapped his fingers and called for one of the assistants to bring another bowl of meat, and before long he was shifting the bowl under the bronze's nose. "Eat up there, you good looking fellow. Do you need any help?" he highly doubted it, but wanted to make sure. That, though, was when a rather rediculous scream echoed through the bowl and J'dol leaned over to take a good look... once he realized there was a bit of a strip show going on (much against the poor guys will it seemed).
"You're missing out Kyp, there's quite the 'dragon' out there right now." He looked down at Kyp though, knowing the man was long gone and was mildly surprised by the death grip Kyp had on his hand. As he was left in charge of Kyp, a mildly feral smile pulled at the corner of his lips and he glances back at the bronzer in a 'I swear I'm not going to hurt your rider' kind of way.
"Kyp, Kyp, Kyp... leaving yourself so vulnerable in my presence." His leg was starting to fall asleep, and, for lack of anything better to do while he watched Pastanutth eat, J'dol used his free hand to walk his fingers across K'r's chest and stomach. "You should wake up you know, before something you don't like happens." He was speaking quietly, well aware that he likely wouldn't magically wake up just because he was being touched. Not that J'dol was doing anything inappropriate though... but this was Kyp, so even looking at him would probably cause a freakout. With a sigh, J'dol leaned back a bit and moved his fingers lazily to K'r's hair, playing gentle so as not to disrupt his wound. "Just make sure you wake up Kyp..."

Why is it that a couple of females hatch and impress and the entire world has to stop for them? That was one of many thoughts that passed through the mind of our next hatchling. The little male dragon shook his head as he watched everything from his little hiding place beside his mother. Chahaturth turned her head to her littlest son, giving him a small nudge to find his rider. He sighed and stood, not that many people would be able to see anything he did from where he stood, hidden by Chahaturth’s large, dark shadow. The Blackberry Cheese Pie Ebony slowly, carefully, walked out into the open, searching for the one that hadn’t touched the shell of his egg, but whom he knew was still waiting for him. I know you would come for your Blasieth B’ran Mine. After you feed me, we can get to work on our grand future! The little ebony walked calmly up to his rider before sitting down and crooning up at him. Hey, what about me?! A small blue dragon bounded around happily, wishing his brother and sister were more playful. The Fig and Blue Cheese Tart Blue snorted at his siblings and then bounded over to his mother where he set about batting playfully at her larger topaz paw. Chahaturth crooned softly, and gently nudged her second blue son away from her paw, and towards the candidates. It was time he found his lifemate. Then, if he was still feeling playful, he could play with his rider. Aww their no fun Mine, but you will play with your Fimorth won’t you Mine? He bounded over to the female candidates and wagged his blue tail playfully as he waited for his rider to take him off of the hot sands and get him something to eat so that they may play some more. A soft sigh came from the only remaining hatchling left on the hot sands. But unlike her imperfect siblings she didn’t need her mother to tell her to find her rider. No, she had known who her rider would be since the day he touched her shell all that time ago. The Plum Cobbler Amethyst stood up and delicately shook out her lilac colored wings. Since her two dim-witted brothers had impressed she figured she might as well end this show. The saying is, “Save the best for last.” after all isn’t it? She crooned at her own genius-ness as she walked straight for her rider. Wait...someone has hurt her perfect rider! Oh she would have to find the dim-glow that did that and teach them what happened when they messed with perfection! Alright Ko’o Mine, it is time to go and show the world just how perfect we are. Your Plumberth is here to help you teach them all what perfection really is. Plumberth crooned softly as she waited to help her rider off of the hot sands. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Ebony Blasieth Pronunciation: bla (black without the ck) - ss - eye - th Impresses To: B'ran (Bekran) {Kitsuneko} Egg Name: Blackberry Cheese Pie Egg Egg Description: The Blackberry Cheese Pie Egg is the third smallest egg of the clutch and seems to be hiding behind all of the others because it sits almost hidden by Chahaturth’s side and the other eggs. It seems to go pretty much unnoticed by just about everyone and everything, which seems to suit this egg just fine. But whenever it is noticed, and someone does touch its solid violet shell, they get the feeling that whatever might be inside the shell is either hiding from their touch, or there is nothing there at all. But if a person is persistent enough in keeping their hand on the violet shell they will eventually feel a slight, hesitant greeting. Dragon Appearance: Hatchling Size: 4.1ft. Full Grown Size: 20.5ft. Color Codes: Base: 433E37 Armadillo Gray Wings: 130A06 Asphalt Black Face Mask: 000000 Black Wing Stripes: ABA196 Bronco Gray Blasieth is an average sized ebony dragon with very well proportioned limbs. He actually appears to be quite seamless and at times it is very hard to tell where one part of his dark body ends and another begins. He is an armadillo gray in color with asphalt black wings that have bronco gray stripes running the full length of the wing membranes. It actually looks like he has a raccoon mask on his face that is a typical black in color. In all though it appears as though he blends in very well with the shadows whether he wants to or not. Sometimes this can be a good thing, and at others it can be a complete pain in the butt for lack of better words. Either way it won’t be as hard as his rider thinks to bathe him for dirt seems to stand out a bit on his very dark hide. Personality: Positives: Sweet, Quiet, Friendly, Loyal Negatives: Ambitious, Daydreamer, Distractible, Trusting Mind-Voice: We will do great things Mine, you just have to believe that. Blasieth’s voice can be hard to hear at times because it is so soft and quiet. There are even times that a person won’t even know that he’s talking to them until he raises his voice a little. Either way his voice always holds a sort of friendly quality. It actually kind of feels like the hug of a best friend that you haven’t seen in months and that you’ve missed terribly. Though there are times when he will be very upset and it actually sounds like his voice is a silent threat that can send shivers down a person’s spine and make them fear what lurks in the dark. Reason: I believe that together, you and I B'ran, can do great things. We just need to ignore what the other's say about us. Together we will single handedly make Pern a better place where everyone can trust each other and not have to worry about getting hurt. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Blue Fimorth Pronunciation: Fim (like fin but with an mmm sound) - or - th Impresses To: Adoptable {To a female candidate, Inali brought to Trelis} Egg Name: Fig and Blue Cheese Tart Egg Egg Description: The Fig and Blue Cheese Tart Egg is an extremely dark grey that looks almost black in color with dark yellow zig-zaging lines all over it. The feeling that people get when they walk by this egg is that it is actually trying to blend into the shadows. It sits away from the rest of the clutch, and seems to be hiding from everything and everyone. People that touch this egg feel as though the creature in side of it is trying to hide from one's touch. Dragon Appearance: Hatchling Size: 4.6ft. Full Grown Size: 23ft. Color Codes: Base: 011635 Midnight Underside: 055989 Venice Blue Fimorth is among some of the smallest blue dragons out there. But his well-proportioned body and muscles seem to help give him more speed to help make up for his small size. He isn’t as agile as some greens or smaller dragons, but he is definitely more agile than larger dragons. But what stands out most about this small dragon is his hide. He is a midnight blue in color that seems to get lighter around his underside which can be described as a Venice blue in color. Needless to say it stands out quite well against his almost black hide. So all a person has to do to find him whenever it is particularly dark out, is look for the spot of blue that seems to float around and then you shall find this strange little dragon. Though he typically doesn’t stray far from his rider so that might help as well. Personality: Positives: Fun-Loving, Respectful, Generous, Adventurous, Innocent Negatives: Obsessive, Over-Bearing, Extremely Loud, Over-Exaggerator, Childish Temper (Often has temper tantrums when he doesn't get what he wants) Mind-Voice: Hurry Mine, adventure waits for no one! Fimorth’s voice is a bit shadowy to say the least. It is dark, deep and mysterious; kind of like the deepest oceans and seas. One never really knows what will come from hearing it. Sometimes it is gentle and a bit energetic, at other times it is flat and unemotional. But when he is feeling particularly upset it can become very loud and hard to listen to. This again changes when he is really excited about something. When he gets really excited it seems to vibrate with energy and gets pretty high pitched. Neither of these are something a person would want to listen to for very long. Reason: To be added when adopted. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Amethyst Plumberth Pronunciation: Plum - birth Impresses To: Ko'o (Koroniket) {Taylor} Egg Name: Plum Cobbler Egg Egg Description: The feeling you get when you approach this egg is a gentle calmness. As if the inhabitant is in no hurry to be free. This egg is medium in size, and seems to be quite content to sit among the smaller eggs. It kinda looks as though the Plum Cobbler egg is protecting, and guiding the smaller eggs. This medium sized brown egg has lighter green and orange polka-dots all over the egg that kinda give it a friendly look. When a person touches this egg they feel a calmness envelop them. It isn't sudden, but gradual, and it seems to make a person relax. Dragon Appearance: Hatchling Size: 4.2ft. Full Grown Size: 21ft. Color Codes: Base: 410056 Ripe Plum Wings: 9874D3 Lilac Bush Underside: 660099 Purple Plumberth is a mid-sized amethyst with longer front legs than normal. Her front legs are the same length as her hind legs, which gives her the ability to walk just as smoothly as she flies. Her amethyst hide is the same color as a ripe plum that fades to a more normal purple color around her underside. Her wings are the same color as the flowers of a lilac bush and she takes great care to keep them safe. She keeps her wings tucked gently against her hide so that they not only stay out of her way, but so that no harm can come to them. After all she wants to appear as normal as possible and the fact that she has longer front legs than most doesn’t help this poor perfectionist. Personality: Positives: Loyal, Helpful, Playful, Adventurous Negatives: Soft-Spoken, Perfectionist, Slow-Learner, Flirty Mind-Voice: We must be perfect Mine, everyone is watching us after all. Plumberth’s voice is very soft, and at times it can be very hard to hear what she is trying to say. She literally never raises her voice, and believes that there is no reason that she would ever need to either. Everything she says though is precise and to the point. After all everything has to be perfect, even her voice. This is just something her rider will have to get used to or learn to ignore. Reason: Do you not think we are just absolutely perfect Kokomine? I believe it is time we teach this place what Real Royalty is do you not think so Mine? I am sure that all the beautiful dragons and humans will join us, all in do time.

No....
Mae felt herself grow desperate. NO! Maerath had given her hope.... but... but...
Her eyes closed tight, and it took her a moment to gather herself. What was wrong? Was she really so... bad? What had she done wrong? How could she learn?
The girl had... trusted. Mae laughed painfully. She'd trusted and once again was shown how things hurt. Her throat constricted. She... had failed.
Mae.. she was a lie. The dragonets saw her instability. Of course. A rider needs to know herself? It was over. Done.
Mae turned, managing to leave the scene. Perhaps un-noticed. Apparently F'ro, who had and would never be helpful or nice to her, could Impress but she could not... Where had she gone wrong?
//
Mae's song --
The eggs hatch My heart skips. The dragonets Impress my stomach flips.
My excitement turns to sadness my happiness to tears.
Why am I here? Why am I here?

The bowl was rather rudely thrust at him and with delight he stuffed his face into it. Best to eat all he can now before his rider wakes up and he needs to take care of him. He can tell by the feeling of his mind that his person would come back to ‘life’ in some time. His head hurt quite a bit and he can tell by poking around that spot where his rider ‘was’ that he would rather stay asleep for some time. Plus, he turns his head to stare seriously up at the man touching his rider grumbling quietly to himself as he does so. He supposes its best if he’s not awake for this, there’s still some odd thoughts and memories about not wanting to be touched but wanting to be touched and it was all quite confusing for him.
Content Past, now known as Stripe nuzzles his bonded with a little croon waiting with a defensive stance for him to wake up.

He’esis cackled wickedly at the boy’s squeaks but he knew when to stop, especially when he saw the purple snout and delicate body heading towards them. Ah! What an interesting choice. With a whistle he tied his tunic around the boys waist stopped his bad touching and checked the bandage all in one fell swoop before he stood up.
“Here comes your Lady to rescue you from my advances. Now come see me in a few days, clean that bandage every night and if it starts to smell come see me right away. Oh and you did have quite a nice thing to touch by the way.†With a wink the mused hair healer half skips half bounces around the purple as he leaves going to help some of the other injured folk.

That cackle was not good. It was bad. Who did that? Ko was about ready to give the man a sharp reprimand when the healer suddenly started behaving, tying the tunic around Ko's waist. Much better. Even if he swore he could still feel the man's warm touch on his-
Thankfully (kind of) He'esis chose that moment to speak, cutting off that rather disturbing line of thought. "My lady? What? And of course it was nice but you are never allowed to touch it again and oh shards I've been violated." He did look truly distressed, and almost moved to follow the man, just so he could yell at him some more.
But then there was a voice in his mind, his head was spinning, and it felt like the entire world had been wrenched out from under his feet. He very nearly went down, but the amethyst who had just claimed him was quick to tuck her head in under his arm. Do be careful, Mine. They are watching, Ko'o, and you already did have a somewhat embarrassing... Well, we just want to be careful, now. She shot a glance at his tunic-covered crotch, her soft voice tinged with a bit of concern. There was no way anyone hadn't seen that, after all, and it was rather scandalous!
Ko'o stared at the amethyst, quite sure that the dizziness in his head was not all about blood loss, now. After several long, awkward seconds of wordlessness, Ko spoke. Out loud. Because he was not going to dignify this fake bond with a telepathic response. "Sorry but you seem to be confused. I'm with that bronze over there. You're welcome to help me to him, but then you'll have to find your candidate." He looked up just in time to see Mae turn and go. "Perhaps her? You should hurry to her, actually, because she seems to be discouraged."
Plumberth sighed. Her rider really was being quite silly. That bronze is not yours, Mine. I am yours. We are perfect for each other and together will show the weyr what perfection looks like. But first we must get to the feeding station because I am very hungry, Mine.
Ko'o (for it was becoming clear to him that that was his name now - he could feel the new sense of fullness that his mind was not used to) digested this. Suddenly, he looked furious, pulling his arm off of the amethyst and very nearly falling over again. "No. No. No no no. You swooped in and stole me while my bronze was helping that dying candidate. I know I am the most appealing, attractive one here, but that doesn't give you the right to steal me, little lady!" His voice had risen a bit, and the amethyst looked hurt and shocked.
But...Mine, you...you are mine. The wounded candidate is my brother's, don't you see? And I am perfect for you...am I not?
But Ko wasn't listening. He wouldn't do this. This was wrong. He turned and limped his way towards the exit, leaving the crushed amethyst staring sadly after him.

Bekran's attention was reluctantly drawn back to the hatching as more dragons appeared. One of them was an ebony--fabulous, the first "true" new color in the clutch, if one didn't include the chimera. He almost overlooked the ebony at first, in fact--the hatchling wasn't exactly drawing attention to himself with the way he was hovering in his mother's shadow, but some movement in that direction drew Bekran's attention away from the bouncy blue that had appeared as well.
He watched as the ebony approached the candidates, but didn't particularly expect anything to happen. Surely he'd find his rider among one of the boys (or perhaps girl) who had touched his egg, like the others had? That was why it was all the more surprising when he heard the soft, quiet voice in his head. I know you would come for your Blasieth B’ran Mine. After you feed me, we can get to work on our grand future!
He looked down at the dark hatchling, who was even now crooning up at him happily, and B'ran's face broke into a grin. This was definitely a most welcome surprise. "Blasieth! Yeah, come on, let's get you some food. But what's this 'grand future' you're talking about?"
The ebony wriggled excitedly at the thought of food, and he followed closely behind B'ran. I don't know the details quite yet, but it will be epic! You and me, B'ran, we can do whatever we want, if we put our minds to it! The dragon's voice began to trail off at the end, his head already filling with vague daydreams about the life they'd lead together, but B'ran's response brought his attention back to the present.
"Hah, yeah. What if what I want is to be just a normal rider, though, Blasieth?" B'ran was so caught up with the conversation with his new dragon, he barely noticed the blue and amethyst Impressing, closing out the hatching, nor any other events going on.
Blasieth squawked indignantly. What? No! Dream bigger than that, Mine! Ooh, is that food? It smells good.

J'dol looked up from his playing to see PastaFace staring at him. "Don't you worry, I promise he'll wake up and slap me if I do something he doesn't like." He paused, glancing at the bowl. "Need more? Or maybe someone to help clean you off..." He paused then at the rather amusing scene going on on the sands, and as the boy started telling off a cute little amethyst J'dol cocked his head to the side.
"Whoa there handsome. Give us another show before you storm off." He wolf whistled at Ko'o, giving him a clear lookover as he tried to leave the sands. "Now look at how sad that little lady is? Are you really such a heartbreaker?" While he spoke his hand hadn't stopped caressing Kyp, though his attention was now on the hatchling.

Chahaturth had been pretty silent for the remainder of the hatching, curiously watching who her hatchlings impressed to. A soft growl escaped her lips as she watched the candidate that had called the egg that had held her little ebony a dud, pretty much abandon her amethyst daughter. She stood and walked quickly to stand in front of Ko’o, snaking her head down so that they were pretty much eye-to-eye. I suggest you turn your tasty hide around and start taking care of my child before I make a meal out of you once and for all. Her voice was a deadly hiss as she growled deep within her chest. No one was going to abandon one of her perfect children! Not while there was still life within her! She carefully placed one of her large, sharp claws on the sand next to Ko’o, fully planning on using it very soon.

Oooh, that topaz rider was not funny. Not funny at all. Ko shot J'dol a venomous glare. He may outrank him now, but once Ko got his bronze like he was supposed to, he would inform the sub-queen's rider that kingriders were not to be mocked in front of the entire weyr. He did look down, though, to make sure the tunic was still firmly tied around his waist. While he was at it, he paused a second, standing still long enough to take in a deep breath. He shouldn't be running away. That wasn't what a good kingrider did. He should be helping the poor amethyst, because it was clearly confused. But...ugh, if he stayed here, he had to see his bronze fawning over some half-dead stranger while a mewling female whined into his brain.
The decision was made up, however, when said mewling female's mother suddenly appeared before him. Oh she didn't look happy at all, did she? As he'd thought earlier, females were entirely too emotional. It was why he would never Impress one.
But you have Impressed one, Ko'oMine... Her soft voice sounded pitiful, trembly as it was. Almost enough to make him accept this silly bond. Except no, he was not about to ruin his entire life because some silly girlchild dragon was sad for a minute or two.
Plumberth had walked slowly up to her bonded, tail dragging in the sands and wings drooping, the picture of dejection. She looked far from perfect and knew it, but...but Hers was leaving her! How could he leave her? She reached him and pressed her head sadly to the small of his back. Please, Ko'oMine? I am good. I will be perfect. Please? She must have a flaw, that was it. She would figure it out and she would fix it. He just had to give her a chance to fix it!
Between the topaz' growling threat and the sad baby dragon pressing into him, Ko'o could feel his resistance wavering. The desperate, pleading sadness rolling off of the amethyst was the final prompt he needed and he reached a hand behind him, easily finding the amethyst's neck and scratching it lightly. "Y-yes...very well, Plumberth. Let's get you some food." He cast a wary look at Chahaturth. "And I suggest you advise your future children on proper selection of kingriders. Then your inferior dragons can choose the inferior candidates and not snatch up the good ones."
The words sent another shot of pain through Plumberth - she would have to find what made her inferior and fix it! - but Hers was touching her. Was scratching her. Was turning, now, to look down at her with an expression far less hostile than earlier. He...he even seemed slightly pleased? Only for a second, as he shifted his hand to scratch her eyeridges, the movement causing her eyes to slip closed in pleasure. He dropped his hand and when she opened her eyes he was striding away from her again. She let out a little keen, panic knifing through her once again, until she realized where he was going.
She ran after him, scampering along the sands to catch up to him just as he reached the feeding station and, resting one hand on Plumberth's head, demanded meat for her.
