Mae had hurried out of bed, hearing the humming. No she could not be late. But.. She got tied up as her kitten got into a fight with her flitters and had to seperate the critters.
Then she had throw on her odd white robes. It made her feel... naked. To ease this, she slipped white pants on underneath.
To the utter surprise of even Mae, she brushed the tangles out of her hair. Now the locks swept in a ruffled but neatly smooth sweep...
The girl did not realize how much she'd delayed until she saw the dragonets on the sands. Oh-- Shards!!!
Her legs wobbled as she came onto the sands. No... everyone was here... What if.. was her dragon looking for her?
Mae did not meet the eye of any other as she took a place sightly distanced in the line of girls. She'd waited forever for this... and.... and...
Nevermind. She was here. Now it was time.

Ko watched from the stands as the bronze turned to the candidate who seemed most hurt. Well that was good. It was important to tend to the weak and wounded. They would be a noble and gracious pair, not simply powerful. Excellent. It was what he had always known would be the case, of course, but it was good to see that his dragon shared his mindset.
Once the pair reached the feeding table, he glanced away. His would be back to him soon enough, after all, and he may as well keep an eye on the eggs while his bronze tended to the fallen candidate. He was sure the bronze was keeping some of his attention on any siblings who might need help, of course, but...might as well help out. And there had to be some sort of pre-impression link that would allow him to tell the bronze if he needed to turn around.
As his gaze was on the eggs, he completely missed the rainbow that flashed through the bronze's eyes as it stood over the near-dead Kyprioth. As such, he had no idea that "his" bronze was now very clearly someone else's.

A healer ran onto sands nimbly side stepping the few candidates that were loitering to close to the meat table. She was an aging woman, around Kyps, K’r’s mothers age and just like her she held her satchel with a no nonsense look on her face as she pushes past everyone reaching the head trauma patient a few seconds after J’dol.
K’r was lucid enough to see J’dol and mumbles something out that was half nonsense and probably makes no sense anyway. His accent is thick and one or two words are audible, something about a fake bronze dragon and his skin not being attached to him no more.
When he turns to stare at the hallucination a paw is placed on his chest, surprisingly gentle as it holds him still enough that the striped face pressed against his own makes it so he has nowhere else to look but into those whirling rainbow eyes.
“But…why would yer want me?” He mumbles as he’s barely aware of the woman kneeling beside him. He’s awake enough though to muffle a scream as she holds his head steady and without much of a how do you do begins to clean it with boiling wine. The red runs down his head with the blood and his vision is completely out as he sags against the nearest thing-J’dols legs.
Crooning in worry the bronze nuzzles his rider to be with love nudging J’dol closer. The boy seems to like the fellow in fact as confusing as his mind is right now he seem’s to like him –a lot-. It makes no sense, there are images of someone else and with a shake of his head he turns his now worried color eyes towards the sands where his blue brother was.
He should really be staying with K’rmine but his brother’s was about to pass out to and with a sigh he nudges J’dol roughly against the back of the leg hoping he gets the hint to –stay- because K’r’s still lucid and aware as the woman is stitching up his wound right then and there. He rushes quickly onto the sands nudging V’lin on the other side to try and get the boy to hurry and move. He does not talk to him just projects a feeling of intense worry and does his best to get the boy to the other healers before all but falling over himself to get back to K’r.
I am not like your Egg-father K’rMine, nor am I like Kyprioth. I am me, I am real, I am yours and you need me as badly as I need you. No you are not going crazy, yes it feels good to touch the man. Your brother is here now to. We are all together, except for this fuzzy person but we find this one later
A bowl of meat was thrust under K’rs hand while he cant feed the bronze its close enough to pretend. He delicately takes the chunks of meat watching the healer with a possessive worried look as she stitches and cleans him up. When K’r mumbles in pain at a particular rough stitch he snaps at her above her ear and yelps in return when he gets smacked on the muzzle for it.
“Ill have none of that out of you! He’ll be fine, just stay with him.” The woman huffs starting to bandage up the head wound, though she keeps staring at his left eye worriedly.
The tiger bronze who happens to not be a hallucination turns his head when he hears something, completely surprised. His gaze lands on the little human-hatchling and blinks owlishly at her. Do not worry hatchling, Mine will be fine! You can come help feed me if you wish, Mine would enjoy the help I think

Well no one could truthfully say that Hatchings were dull and boring, at least not after this one anyways. Well thankfully most of the candidates had been sorted out and seen to by healers. Chahaturth was finally starting to settle down as her bonze and blue weyrlings left the sands. D’tri felt as though his heart was going to burst through his chest and he was having a hard time breathing after the mental battle that had just raged between him and his topaz dragoness. One thing was absolutely certain as the man sagged against his dragon’s leg. He was tired, bone tired. It seemed the poor man would need a vacation from not only being a queen rider, but from his entire life. Maybe a nice long nap would help. Chahaturth gently placed her muzzle against her rider’s back, trying to keep him steady.
All the adults set aside, there was something more important happening on the sands. While everyone had been freaking out about the stupid kitten, more of the eggs had hatched. There were now two greens, and a brown looking for all the world as if they had absolutely no idea what was going on and why everyone was in such a tizzy. The Apple Butter Pork Loin Brown kindly stepped around his two strange sisters and headed straight for the candidates. I am proud you are still here Mine. I found you that day you touched my shell, but you did not seem very happy. Did your Apperointh displease you F’ro Mine? The brown’s soft, quiet voice gently pushed its way into his rider’s mind as he got closer and closer to the young man.
- - - - - - - - - - - - woo woo, here I come, woo woo, back to you there ain’t no home like the one you got ‘cause that home belongs to you table © derek Brown Apperointh Pronunciation: App - er - oin - th Impresses To: F'ro (Firogel) {Zirin} Egg Name: Apple Butter Pork Loin Egg Egg Description: The Apple Butter Pork Loin egg is a kind of purplish blue egg with a few splotches of a redish orange coloring all over its smooth shell. This mid-sized egg sits near the middle of the clutch, and tends to give of a gentle calming feeling to any and all that walk past this egg. When a person touches this speckled egg though, they get the sudden urge to do something. It is almost as though whatever is inside of this egg wants the person touching it to get to work and stop being lazy, no matter how hard working they are. Dragon Appearance: Hatchling Size: 7ft. Full Grown Size: 35ft. Color Codes: Base: AE6020 Desert Underside: 964B00 Brown Apperointh is a mid-sized brown dragon with surprisingly large claws. His legs and paws themselves are completely normal, but this dragon’s sharp talons are a bit too big for him. Though he never truly grows into these large claws, he does grow into them enough so that he no longer has to concentrate on the way he moves for fear of tripping over his own claws and causing someone harm. Other than that he is a very ordinary dragon with a desert brown hide that darkens to a more typical brown color around his underside. He is quite happy with the fact that his hide is so plain. He likes not standing out and would want his own hide over that of a flashier one. The brown of his hide actually hides whatever dirt might accumulate there whenever he is out working. So his rider will have to be extra careful when cleaning him. Personality: Positives: Diligent, Calm, Quiet, Gentle, Caring Negatives: Workaholic, Blunt, Overly Cautious, Fidgety Mind-Voice: Come Mine, we must work now. Apperointh’s voice is a very soft and quiet voice that sounds like a father gently singing his little child to sleep. It leaves behind a very relaxed feeling in the mind of whomever he has spoken to. But don’t mistake this as his all the time voice. When he actually gets excited his voice takes on a more energetic tone and seems to vibrate with energy, but it still leaves behind that relaxed feeling. This will all change once he gets upset though. The more upset he gets, the harsher his voice becomes, and the more unpleasant it is to listen to it. When he reaches his peak of anger it is almost unbearable even to his rider. But it takes quite a bit to get him upset in the first place so it isn’t often that it takes on that harshness, which his rider will be more than thankful for. Reason: We can learn from each other Mine F'ro, and together we can help to make this world a better place for dragons and humans alike. That would be nice wouldn't it Mine? Now let's get to work!

Well, that was two dragons successfully hatched and Impressed...Wait, where had these others come from? Bekran watched as a brown and two greens appeared on the hatching sands. Or, more likely, they had been there a while and he just hadn't noticed them. A little put out that he'd missed the eggs hatching, he kept his eye on the brown. The greens, being female, he mostly ignored. He didn't exactly see himself as the type to attract a very girly dragon, though then again...you never really knew.
He was a little disappointed when the brown Impressed one of the other boys, and his shoulders slumped. Oh well, what did he expect? He had just come to the Weyr after all. He wasn't sure he wanted a brown anyway. Since he didn't see any other eggs immediately ready to hatch, he turned his attention to the two greens, though he kept a good distance between himself and the female dragons.

Mae looked at the 3 new dragons, eyeing the brown with interest. Look how- Oh... nononononononoNO!
Not Firo. Anyone but him... If he was chosen.... Then... then... Her heart sank. With a look of growing dismay she tried to catch a glimpse of the Blackberry Cheese Pie egg. That egg had seemed to like her...
But why did Firo get chosen?! That was a real blow to Mae's hope... Now she did feel insecure... unneeded... alone...
And she wanted to leave. But maybe.. perhaps her bonded was here...?

Linda just frowned as she glanced around, at least it looked like everything was going calm yet again. They didn't need another incident like the last hatching or incidents that was. But as she was helping people, and completely ignoring Firo and what he said... She did notice that more Dragons broke out of their shells with a little smile. It didn't take long before one of them impressed... but to who it just rolled her back on her heels and actually made her almost fall down on her butt. Firo impressed a Brown? Linda just frowned and shook her head a little bit.... That was... was unexpected... well now... she didn't... she didn't have to worry about him... right?
Jessee on the other hand just tugged a little bit at his clothes as he stood there straight and tall. Yes really it was so much for those clothes now wasn't it. A sigh went through him before he just pulled his hair back behind him. It wouldn't do to let his hair get stained red now would it.. He didn't need it red for any dancing currently and that might make a Dragon want to chew off a lock of his hair. "So I guess that brown just impressed too huh... interesting I wonder what other males are left then.."

As three eggs burst suddenly open, Ko's eyebrows rose. That was...fast. At the same time, perhaps finally deciding this loud, angry place was not the place for it, the cat on Koroniket's lap scampered off. Up, away from the sands and furious dragon, Ko was pleased to see. Well with that taken care of... Ko frowned, surprised that not a single healer had come his way. He was, after all, bleeding fairly heavily, the crimson patch on his robe significant and the little pool of blood on the ground large enough to have had a few people shuffling off to other seats.
He supposed he would just have to get help his own sharding self, then. Getting carefully to his feet, and rather surprised at how much his head spun. Oh dear, he had lost a lot of blood, hadn't he? He was going to be selfish for a second here and say that it would be nice if his bronze finished up with Kyprioth soon so he could help Koroniket across the sands to the healers. He waited a few seconds so the bronze could read his thoughts and respond. No? Okay then.
He tried to step down carefully onto the sands, but the slight shifting of the substrate combined with the weakness of his wounded leg made him fall. Oh fantastic, he was on the ground once again. He looked up, unable to resist a brief glare in the blue's direction. Of course, it was about the kitten, and he couldn't fault the kitten, so the glare quickly evaporated.
Oh this was honestly ridiculous. He locked his eyes on the feeding station and the useless healers. His bronze really was being a bit silly, at this point - most of his siblings had hatched and were on their way to Impressing, after all. Shouldn't he be taking care of his bleeding rider who was sitting on the burning sands?

A part of him hoped the stupid shodding farmboy would die, for stealing his bronze away. Even though Firogel had already decided that the bronze wasn't good enough for him, it still stung a bit. He had been so sure. Still feeling a bit upset about the ordeal, he glanced back at the eggs only to blink in surprise. Had he really been looking away for so long that three eggs had time to hatch? He realized after a moment that one of the broken eggs looked like an egg he had touched, but he thought little of it. He had touched many eggs that day.
He paused at the voice in his head, looking over to the hatchlings with a look of surprise. I am proud you are still here Mine. I found you that day you touched my shell, but you did not seem very happy. Did your Apperointh displease you F’ro Mine? He crossed his arms defiantly. Of course he was still here. He had worked too long and hard to walk off the sands because of a lousy little scratch. Okay, sure the scratch needed some real looking at because the bandage would only last so long, but Firo was too stubborn to just walk off. Especially if it meant losing to the women.
As he found himself face to face with a brown, or rather, as close as could be with the size difference, he snorted. "You aren't a bronze." As if that explained everything; his reasons for rejecting the egg, his excuse for not believing that Apperointh was actually his. We will simply need to worker harder to obtain that which you desire. He didn't know quite when his hands had moved to cup the brown face, but as he stared into the eyes, challenging the brown to keep his word and knowing, somehow, that he would. THe brown fidgeted slightly and Firogel, or rather F'ro now, realized he - they- felt hungry. It is our first task for today. We can't relax any longer, there are things to be done and time is ticking by.
F'ro couldn't help but grin. A brown was perfect, wasn't it? Much better than a stuffy bronze! He turned to lead his lifemate to the food, pausing only long enough to smirk at Linda. "His name's Apperointh.
J'dol just grimaced down at Kyprioth. Seriously, had Ara not taught the candidates about getting AWAY from rampaging hatchlings? That blue must have taken out a good chunk of the for Faranth's sake! He twitched as Kyp managed to actually force out a sentence, though he knew it was for the dragon and not him, and so stayed quiet. This was bonding time; a bloody one perhaps, but it could be worse. Oh look, now it was worse.
J'dol easily supported the weyrling as the healer went about her business, even offering up a hand for Kyp to squeeze if it was needed. He looked at the bronze, wanting to say everything would be alright but not wanting to say anything just yet; Kyp needed to be the one talking to his bonded after all. He does nod to show he was listening though, promising he wont move.
"Come on then Kyp, show us the manly man that can handle a wee little scratch or I might have to take drastic measures." Kayath, meanwhile, had moved to a ledge closer to where Hers was, staring down at Kyprioth and the bronze.

Ara blinked once, twice, three times before dropping her jaw. While J'dol had been running to care for the new bronze Weyrling, Ara's gaze was glued to a different person. A child. She knew her, she knew her as well as she knew her own little girl. How could Inoria be here though? Did it mean Inali was as well? She is her. That is the Little One. Avirith rose to her feet, a curious croon rumbling from her jaws as she searched the stands for Inali's familiar form.
There.
The green pointed to the other side of the stands from where Ara was, and the rider instead headed down to her weyrmate and the others. Pulling Inoria away from the bronze mid-mind thought no less, Ara shook her head. "What in Faranth's name....when did you get back?" Her voice was worried and angry and upset all at once, her arms still holding Jarali to her chest as the baby's green gaze lingered over the child.
"Momma come back with 'Ria."

Well it seems as though the brown has made more than a few people unhappy, or at least a little shocked. Well not that it mattered, there were riders out there that still needed their dragons. It was the Green Bean Casserole Green/Amethyst Chimera who made the first move towards the candidates. She walked past each of the females, sniffing at them lightly. Shook her green and amethyst head and snorted when she didn’t find hers there. So she trotted the little distance over to the male candidates and repeated her process. She bugled happily when she finally found the man that was to be her rider. There you are J’see Mine! Your Granselth thought she would never find you! Granselth crooned happily as she rubbed her head against J’see’s leg. Not to be out done however, the Ruby red Grapefruit Green growled as her sister found her rider first. Not that it mattered to her, she already knew where her rider was. She figured she might as wait and see what weakling was chosen as her sister’s rider. She snorted at the person her sister chose, clearly not impressed. Why would you pick something as useless as a human who can’t even tell himself the truth? Come now Inali, My Little One. It is time we showed these weak fools who the real brains are. Your Rudith will meet you where they seem to be handing out the food. She shook her head as she spoke to her rider who wasn’t actually among the other candidates. Her’s didn’t need her to come and get her. She was a grown woman after all and didn’t need to be babysat. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Green/Amethyst Granselth Pronunciation: gran (like grandma without the dma) - sell - th Impresses To: J'see (Jessee) {Jovia} Egg Name: Green Bean Casserole Egg Egg Description: The Green Bean Casserole Egg is a very dark red, with a light brown circle around the top and bottom of the egg. It also has very pale yellow vertical stripes down the sides. When people walk past this egg, they feel as though it was trying to reach out, and trip them. A real sense of mischief seems to come off this egg in waves. Yet whenever someone touches it, they feel a sense of quiet forgiveness, as if the egg was trying to say sorry for being so mischievous. Dragon Appearance: Hatchling Size: 4ft. Full Grown Size: 20ft. Mutation: Green/Amethyst Chimera Color Codes: Base: 7BA05B Asparagus Spots: 240A40 Violet Wings: 66FF00 Bright Green Stripes: 9771B5 Wisteria Granselth isn’t exactly small but she isn’t exactly large either. She’s somewhere in the middle but more on the shorter side than some greens, and the larger end of some amethysts. But she doesn’t really pay attention to her size, and doesn’t think anyone else should either. She is more worried about the fact that her tail is a little longer than normal, now that is something people should worry about. She doesn’t like that her tail isn’t normal like everyone else’s. But she is quickly distracted by how pretty she thinks her hide is. It is an asparagus green in color with violet purple spots on her head and neck and Wiseria purple colored stripes on the rest of her body. Her wings are what really makes her stand out because they are literally a bright green in color. She definitely stands out in a crowd and there is no mistaking her for another dragon, not even another chimera. Personality: Positives: Polite, Friendly, Playful, Doesn't Care What Other's Think Of Her Negatives: Mischievous, Hyper, Extremely Contrite, Easily Distracted Mind-Voice: Please don't be upset Mine, your Granselth is sorry. Granselth's voice sounds like a growl, no matter what kind of mood she's in. She enunciates each and every word clearly, so it's very hard to mistake what she's saying. It isn't a very pleasant sound to listen to, but it isn't terrible either. It isn't something that one would want to listen to for just hours on end. Though, after a while, the growl in her voice actually starts to sound more like background noise than anything else. Reason: We will show them all that it doesn't matter what one looks like on the outside, but what is on the inside that counts. You and I my J'see, will make the world a friendlier place where everyone can have fun! Right J'see? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Green Rudith Pronunciation: Rue - dith Impresses To: Inali {Wish} Egg Name: Ruby Red Grapefruit Egg Egg Description: This very large egg is a ruby red in color, with pale pink heart shaped spots all over it. It is a very smooth egg, and the feeling that a person gets from touching this egg is one of a calm, protectiveness. It is almost as though the inhabitant is more than willing to protect everyone that nears it. Whenever anyone walks by this ruby red egg they feel a kind of pull coming from it, as if it is trying to get you to come near it. This isn't always the best idea since it sits close to Chahaturth's large front paws. Dragon Appearance: Hatchling Size: 5ft. Full Grown Size: 25ft. Color Codes: Base: 00581A Camarone Face: 66FF00 Bright Green Paws: 093624 Bottle Green Wings: 7BA05B Asparagus Underside: 888D65 Avocado Rudith is as large as a green can get with wings that are two sizes too big for her, but thankfully she has the muscle strength to use those large wings to keep her in the air longer than is actually normal for a green her size. She is quite blocky, all because of her muscles. Her hide is a Camarone green that fades to an avocado green. Her entire face is a bright green that stands out starkly against the darker green Camarone of her body. Her large paws are a bottle green and they actually look like she stepped in some very large cans of bottle green paint. Her wings are the same color as asparagus, but don’t say anything against them or you might just find out what the inside of a dragon really looks like. Personality: Positives: Subtle, Intelligent, Confident, Protective Negatives: Calculating, Cunning, Manipulative, Dominant Mind-Voice: Come My Little One, we have a big day ahead of us.Rudith’s voice is soft and sweet, but there is something hidden beneath that soft sweetness. Some might speculate that there is something malicious hidden there, and some might speculate that there is something almost caring hidden there. Whatever it is no one but her knows and she doesn’t seem inclined to share with the rest of us. All I can say is that her voice is a sweet mystery that seems to wrap around a person’s mind and caress’ it like someone would caress a lover. Whether or not this is how she wants it to seem or how it actually is no one can say for certain, not even her rider. Reason: We will show these people that color and size doesn't make the better dragon. No, indeed my pet we will show them that a green and her rider can rule the world!

So now it was just greens, and rather boring greens they were--wait, that was a green, wasn't it? He was a little late to notice the amethyst markings on one of the greens, a difference in coloration that couldn't be attributed to normal differentiation in dragons. His heart beat faster. Great, the first mutation of the clutch. Pity it was a female, and thus even less likely to bond to him...she did seem interested in one of the male candidates, though.
Er...he thought? The newest rider was hanging around the other male candidates, but looked rather like a girl, so he wasn't quite sure. Oh well, no matter. The other green was normal, at least in appearance, but something or someone outside the normal range of candidates seemed to have caught her eye.
Bekran's jaw dropped when he noticed who it was the green had Impressed to. He'd been so focused on the eggs he hadn't noticed the little girl on the sands, and wouldn't have recognized her anyway, but he did recognize the former Weyrwoman Inali when she Impressed the green. But--hadn't she left for the Rebellion, or was that just a rumor? More distressing than that was that she seemed to have Impressed another dragon. Dragons weren't supposed to do that. What was going on in this Hatching?

Mae knew hatchings worked like this, but she still felt so... sad. What was wrong with her? Did she really not know about herself enough to be worthy of a dragon?
Her heart stung. She was confused. It was hard to stand and watch everything you wanted happen around you but not for you...
Shardit. It was how she acted too rough? Did dragons resent her boyish attitude? Or was she too brave? Did she scare the eggs? How could they judge her if they didn't take a moment to understand? She was unsure. She was insecure. She could be masked with bold confidence but inside Mae was terrified. She had no mother or father or even positive family. C'yin might be her half-brother but what was she to do?
Who was she? Why was she so.... left out? It was something about her... But the truth was evil. She hid from it. She made enemies. She lost friends... Was this her fate?
Her eyes burned with tears that wouldn't fall. If only the eggs would see what she wouldn't and couldn't show....

((Ill post as K'r soon this is an 'npc soon to be made healer' coming in to help the wounded))
He’esis pushed his way between the other healers muttering rather rude comments this way and that with snappy results and a grin that was not entirely sane. He moves along the sand, holding a satchel in one hand and a skin of boiling hot wine in the other, and as always the staple of a good healer a scarf tied around his neck. He casts a cursory glance to the bronze’s rider but ignores him, he’s getting healed and instead walks calmly onto the sand completely ignoring the eggs, the mother and all the other candidates to go to his patient.
“Hey there handsome don’t you look like you got ran over by a herd of wherries.” He snickers, actually he’s cackling as he bends over tugging off his scarf and tying it above the thigh wound. Without so much of a by your leave the man rips open the fabric near the cut inspecting it with gentle fingers. “Should heal clean, got you rather well he did.” He nods more to himself then anything and roughly pushing a second scarf that had been around his waist into Ko’s mouth he grasps his leg, holds him down and pours the boiling wine onto and into the woud.
You could have warned him
He ignores Ander’s for now, really because Ander’s is not the healer, he is. Though the man has a point. He stops to hastily rub some numbweed on the wound and hand the left over wine to the candidate. “Only a sip, can’t have you falling on your head drunk when there’s a dragon out there for you.” He’s cheerful and just –annoying- with how cheerful he is. It’s almost frightening in fact.

Koroniket's thigh was terribly hurt, and the sands' heat certainly smarted, as well. Blood loss was combining with the heat of the sands to make him about an inch away from passing out. He should get up, though, and move towards the healers' stand. In fact, that was the plan. ...aaany second now. Okay no now.
Oddly, he was not willing himself to his feet, and so he was still sitting there, dazed and wounded, when one of the healers took notice of him and chose to approach. Ko gave him a slight frown. "I'm handsome and yet run over by wherries? You have strange taste in men, sir, and I do not share them." Wait, was he saying He'esis was handsome, or looked like he was run over by wherries? No matter: The next few moments passed in a blur, Ko barely able to process, let alone react.
First, his robe was ripped open unceremoniously. Koroniket gave a little squeak of surprise as his...uh...unmentionables were suddenly very mentionable. Shards, maybe you were meant to wear something under the robes. As he grabbed at a bit of the torn and bloody fabric, trying to tug it back into some semblance of concealment, his thigh was being manhandled around and- oh my, that really was unpleasant. "Does it have to be so tight? What are you-" His words were quickly muffled by a scarf and then turned into a high, stifled scream.
He blacked out for a moment, coming to with a man rubbing ointment on his thigh dangerously close to parts of him that had no business being rubbed by men. He shifted uncomfortably, but it only made his poor scratched, boiled thigh hurt more. He recognized the smell of numbweed, though, so hopefully that would start to help... Oooh, that or wine. He took it happily, only to start coughing and gasping at the first sip. "What the-" No, that wasn't how you spoke to someone. He took a deep breath (one which was more than a little shaky but no he was not on the verge of tears, go away) and tried again.
