R'vin sat on a log staring up at the sky and took a swig of wine from the skin he had brought with him. Umeith wasn't particularly happy about his desire to drnk right now. So he refused to speak to him... In fact, his only real company right now was his bronze firelizard, Monerae. Who was sitting on his knee and was being rather possessive.
He sighed and leaned back against the tree and looked at the stars. That stupid Topaz Rider jsut had to seem to be the only one he could ever love right... Well... Faranth! He'd find someoen else... male or female... though of late... he found himself liking males more than females. HE laways had... he jsut had never admitted it. It wasn't like the Holds really liked it... in fact.... the were against such things... Or at least had been.
Well... now he was a rider at the Weyr.... where such things were common. It wasn't a big deal. He took another swig. He had three skins here to drink and no one to drink with. It was rather sad. J'dol was good to talkto... but he wasn't going to fix this problem. He wanted someoen for himself...
He bit his lip slightly and let his head roll back as he looked up at the starry sky again.

It was dark in his personal Weyr. S'bel hadn't bothered lighting any candles, and as the sky steadily deepened, his hand slowly stopped forming words on the record he was re-writing, and the only light came from the glowing red eyes of his Bonded, his Life Partner, his bronze dragon Maerath.
They were both dealing with the pain in different ways. S'bel had become isolated in his ire, working furiously to copy old, dry records with new ink, so they could actually be read and used. Maerath sulked in his corner of their personal weyr day in and day out, his eyes a constant, swirling red. Neither rider nor dragon had left their weyr for many days, save for food. Even then, they only ventured out in the dead of night, when the risk of running in to certain... people... were significantly minimized.
Sitting there in the growing darkness, as stars winked into existence in the aphotic skies, the silenced pressed down on both man and dragon until it was broken by a soft chitter. S'bel's head turned lightly, and in the light of the stars he could barely make out the shape of his fire-lizard, Vanda, chattering angrily at him. The poor thing was hungry, apparently.
Fumbling around in the dark, S'bel managed to produce a meat-roll that wasn't too stale, and offered it to the little Lazuli. Barely ten inches long, she delicately accepted the offering, radiating relaxing vibes to her bonded as she munched on the nosh, eyes swirling a calm, happy blue-green. S'bel sighed.
"You need to eat." He murmured softly, his eyes moving from the firelizard to his dragon. Maerath only growled, eyes still an angry orange-red. "It's been nearly five days. If you eat, we can go down to the beach and I'll give you a bath and oil your hide. Deal?" It was very obvious that neither rider nor dragon wanted to leave their personal weyr, but the truth was there, too: the bronze needed to eat.
Maerath heaved himself to his feet, shuffling to the edge of the weyr and looking out at the stars. Why, Mine? S'bel didn't have to ask what his dragon meant. He had been asking himself the same question ever since Izanycorth's maiden flight. "I don't know." He answered solemnly, climbing onto his dragon's back, Vanda curled around his wrist.
The dragon growled before dropping from the ledge. He plummeted a good twenty feet before opening his wings and catching the air. The bronze let the wind carry him to the feeding pens, where he grabbed a squealing runner-beast in his talons before turning toward the ocean. At this hour, who would be there? He could eat in peace, and he and His would still be alone.
Unfortunately, Maerath realized he was wrong as he dropped his now-dead meal onto the sands and landed. There was a blue there that Maerath recognized by sight but not by name, and his rider. The bronze grunted, clearly offended by their presence, and landed a ways off from them. S'bel slid from his dragon's shoulders and left the bronze to eat, wandering out toward the water, where the stars were reflected upon the waves. At that moment, he did not, and could not, appreciate their beauty.
He knew there was another man on the beach, but he did not offer a hello of any kind, nor a statement for the other man to leave him be. He just stood at the water's edge, Vanda perched on his left shoulder, her tiny paws clutching his ear for balance, and waited. What he was waiting for, however, he did not know.

R'vin stood a bit shakily and walked over to the bronze rider, holding out a skin of wine. "Seems you could use a little to..." He knocked back another drink and looked back to where Umeith lay, eyeing the bronze draogn warily. Hmph. He was far enough away. Or at least he should be. He settled himself there and just watched His and His' Bronze Monerae. The bronze flitter went everywhere with His.
R'vin sighed and looked at S'bel. "Seems life is choosing to give a lotta licks these days..." He plopped himself down on the sand and took another swig, glaring out at the moonlit waves, running a hand through his black hair with a sigh before taking anotehr swig. Oh yeah... His plan was to get drunk, very very drunk, and drown out his pain for awhile.
Why did it have to be the sharding Weyrlord of all people. Sure... J'dol had been his friend first.... but he was also hsi first love. which was really messed up in a way. R'vin still had a hard enough time admitting he was in to guys... much less that he had fallen for the sharding Jr. Weyrlord of Trelis... Or that he had to see him pretty regularly... or that he and the Weyrlord's mate had had... some fun together. It just ate at him.
He frowned at the swirling mass of black thoughts and took yet another swig of the wine. It tasted bitter ot him at hte moment. Much like he felt.

S'bel did not acknowledge the other man except to accept the skin of wine. Well, he assumed it was some sort of alcohol by the way the other's words were slurred and by his overly friendly... greeting? Could it be called a greeting? He didn't offer his name... just alcohol, which S'bel confirmed as wine when he raised the skin slightly so he could smell the contents. Whatever kind of wine it was, S'bel assumed it was strong, judging by the other man.
His gaze remained on the water, though he had both Maerath and the strange Blue dragon in his peripheral vision. The Blue seemed rather moody, and S'bel knew that if pushed, Maerath would likely attack, not caring for the consequences. S'bel, truth be told, wouldn't mind attacking someone himself... but neither he nor his dragon could afford to let their tempers get away from them.
The rider still refused to look at the other man, who was still talking... and drinking. He must have been planning to get splendidly drunk, if he had brought more than one skin of wine. After all, how much did it take to get one man significantly drunk? S'bel wouldn't know, given that he rarely drank. "Seems like is choosing to give a lotta licks these days..." S'bel could have laughed. If only he knew! The love of his life betrayed him, essentially left him for dead! The other man had no idea what pain and suffering was. Of course, S'bel had no idea how eerily similar their situations were.
At the thought of Iirla, her arms wrapped fiercely around Vl'kan as the Garnetrider kissed her, S'bel clenched his hands into fists, anger rising in his eyes. Lifting the wine-skin to his mouth, he gulped more than a quarter of the burning liquid before he even realized he was drinking. Coughing, he bent over double, trying to catch his breath. "What... in Faranth's name... is in this stuff?!" He breathed, waving a hand at Maerath, who had raised his great bronze head from his meal, clearly worried about his Bonded, who might very well be choking to death or... something.
When S'bel waved him away, however, the great King dragon returned to ripping the herdbeast into bloody shreds, devouring his kill in the bloodiest means possible. Watching the Blue with a wary eye, Maerath also kept some of his attention on S'bel. While the two of them both felt as if death would be welcoming, Maerath would want that to be a choice they made together, a journey they could make together, blinking between, never to be seen again. He did not want his rider dying from drinking something too fast and choking. That would be pathetic.
Vanda, startled into flight by S'bel's antics, hovered around his head, absurdly tiny, squeaking her own questions. S'bel waved a hand at the flitter, too, indicating that he was okay. He had straightened up now, and stopped coughing, but still had the wine-skin in his hand. Maybe getting drunk would make him feel better? He wasn't sure, but anything was worth a try at this point. Be careful, Mine. Maerath's voice nudged into his mind quietly. I do not trust the Blue, and thus do not trust his rider. Watch yourself.
S'bel let his periperal vision note both the Blue and the rider. Maerath was right. He couldn't trust just anyone. The pair of them had sunk so far into their solitary madness that they could not even make a friend. S'bel mentally let Maerath know that he was on his toes, but that there was no harm in staying a short while longer and seeing how things played out.

Umeith watched the bronze warily, but he did not move. He was used to this by now as well. His rider's mind would become fuzzy. It was just a matter of time. He would drink until he passed out and then complain of the headache tomorrow. Oh yes. It was the same every few days anymore. It was always the same. He said nothing about it. He was simply... quiet. Very quiet, deathly quiet indeed.
R'vin took another swig. He didn't say anything, his brown eyes focused on the waves before he picked up the nearest piece of rock or shell at hand and through it as hard as he could into the waves, giving a dark chuckle as he watched it sink. "Yeah! And take the pain with ya! Stupid topazrida!" he yelled at the rock, as if he were yelling at J'dol himself. He stood on shaky feet and turned to walk back up the beach a short ways before plopping himself down in the sand again and taking another deep swig of wine, leaning back after a long moment to rest his back against the rough rock that stood here, worn away by water.
He swirled the skin almost as if it was a bottle and took another swig. "R'vin of Blue Umeith..." he said, words slurring together a bit. He wasn't too far gone to notice what was going on though, including how stiff the bronze rider was. He knew about S'bel and Iirla. But he wouldn't pretend to know more than that there was something between them. Whatever the case.. It didn't solve his problem or the bronze riders to think about it.
R'vin took another swig. "Should sut... en-jooooy thuh stars n' thuh waves...." He let his head roll back to look up at the stars, frowning, but he didn't say a word. They weren't that beautiful. Just reminded him of hte last tiem he was out here with J'dol.

Maerath glanced toward the Blue again. The Blue seemed concerned about something but Maerath ignored it. He had no need to worry about some random Blue. The other dragon could deal with his own problems himself.
S'bel stared at the blue rider stupidly. What the hell was he shouting about? And throwing things? Not that he could talk... he had thrown many many things at Iirla. ...but he had been a bit unrestrained at that time... not that he was much more restrained now.
The other man finally introduced himself. "S'bel of Bronze Maerath," he replied, though he was moderately sure the Blue rider probably already knew who he was. It was a bit unconcerning how his name had been spread around the Weyr so quickly after the lost flight and the incident where he had thrown things at Iirla.
"The stars and the waves aren't anything worth enjoying. Life is miserable," he snapped angrily. "Nothing is beautiful in this world any more. You're truly idiotic if you believe beauty still exists."

R'vin looked at the man. "Beauty ya can't touch... can't have. Stolen from you and hurt you. That's all there is." His eyes became painfully clear for a moment as he tried to convey what he meant. He took another swig of wine and sighed, letting the blissful feelings caused by the wine flow over him. Yes... it was wonderful. He looked up at the stars.
Please.... forgive mine. He is trying to get over the one he loves. He is with another and Mine is left with pain... He is not in his right mind. Umeith's words were quiet as the blue looked at his worriedly again. Much like you are in love with Iirla, he is in love with J'dol... Umeith crooned softly and looked back to his as R'vin stood and walked over to his dragon to get another skin of wine, the now empty skin abandoned on the sands. Umeith stood and moved away from him as he tried to reach a skin. "Umeith!" the man complained irritably, reaching to grab for the skin again.
Mine! That is enough for now!
R'vin frowned. "Just give i' tu' meeee!" He hardly seemed to notice the bronze rider anymore. He needed a drink and that was all he was focused on.

S'bel listened to the man, his eyebrows raised. Wow. He was drunk. S'bel looked down at the wineskin and shrugged, taking another few gulps. He felt his head going a bit fuzzy, and so he shook it, which only made things worse. He sat down hard next to R'vin, closing his eyes.
He listened to the blue as his voice entered S'bel's mind, and was moderately surprised as to how similar their situations were. He wasn't even sure he didn't now feel pity for the blue rider and understand why he was so drunk. S'bel did, however, jump when R'vin stood and his dragon kept the wine away.
An odd glimmer came over S'bel's eyes.
The bronze rider stood, walking over to R'vin. Laying a hand on the other man's shoulder, his eyes hardened. "You know, there's more than one fish in the sea, more than J'dol and... Iirla..." he spat out the hated name before looking at R'vin again. "The ocean is wide and deep, and I think these two fish might enjoy a swim together." ...okay, so drinking made him a bit weird. But with that, he spin R'vin around and kissed him full on the mouth. Take that Iirla!

R'vin was still trying to reach for the wine until he felt the bronzerider's hand on his shoulder and he stopped moving, looking at the other man curiously. "Other... A swim..." he was trying to figure it out, his voice quiet and his brow slightly furrowed... but actions spoke louder than words. Especially when one was drunk like he was right now. Or so he believed anyways.
R'vin almost yelped as S'bel spun him around and he fell against him. The bronzerider's mouth was soon covering his and R'vin closed his eyes with a soft moan, pressing into the kiss hungrily, his hands slowly wrapping around the bronzerider's body. After a moment he pulled away and looked at S'bel with his dark brown eyes. The desire for another kiss... and more burned hot in his skin. He ran his hands up and down the bronzerider's chest slowly. He had no words. That kiss had stolen them... all of them. He looked at S'bel and tilted his head slightly, one hand winding up to gently run through the taller mans hair. "Well... w-wow..." he stuttered out slowly, his voice soft. He hoped S'bel would kiss him again.
Faranth...
Umeith rumbled in amusement at His's sudden distraction and preoccupation. That was what His needed. Please, Maerath's don't break him again... That was all Umeith said as he settled down to rest while the two had their fun.

Poor R'vin. He was still trying to figure out what S'bel meant (heck, S'bel was still trying to figure out what he meant!), even as S'bel turned the man and kissed him, which the blue rider was apparently not ready for, as he nearly shouted and practically fell against S'bel.
Despite S'bel's grumpiness, his kiss was gently, and as R'vin's arms wrapped around his muscular body, he let his own hands find their way to the blue rider's hips. The kiss, however, was broken too soon for S'bel's liking, especially as R'vin was now running his hands up and down his chest, and through his hair. R'vin tilted his head, and S'bel's eyes narrowed... but R'vin just expressed his... surprise? Awe? S'bel wasn't sure, so he just kissed the other man again.
He waved a hand at Umieth, thinking to the dragon, since his mouth was currently occupied, Don't worry, Umeith. I've been broken too many times to break someone else. He's safe in my arms. Maerath moved to settle beside the blue. Don't worry, S'belMine has strong arms.

Umeith crooned softly. Thank you. The blue looked at the bronze with a soft croon and resettled himself a little bit, letting his tail trail into the water and seemed to give a sigh of relief. I hope this will be good for the both of them... the blue said privately to the bronze and closed his eyes, settling himself again. Perhaps his would find someone after all... "Mmm..." R'vin's eyes closed as S'bel's lips pressed against his again and he moaned slightly, enjoying it. S'bel was incredible at kissing... to say the least. R'vin pressed his tongue against the bronzerider's lips, whimpering slight as he begged for him to kiss him more deeply, his arms wrapping around the bronzerider again and trying to pull himself as close as he could. He tilted his head slightly to try to kiss the bronzerider more deeply. Monerae gave a disgruntled hiss. Why was his giving so much attention to another being? It wasn't fair! He already had to share with BlueOne! Umeith hissed at the little nuisance and nipped at the Bronze, telling him to leave R'vin alone. |Fade to Black|
