Iirla laid back, still feeling warm and her body shivering slightly as she laid back against the pillows. Se was sure it wouldn't be a while before she was really back on her feet. Before she was able to be up and movign around... but for the moment... she would be content to rest. And... know her child had been born safely, if a bit sickly. "Vl'kan..." she said softly, reaching out a hand for him to come over to her. She still held the little girl with one arm... But she wouldn't get to for too long. AT least.... she was not so premature as it should be too deadly.... but she would have to have frequent visits form the healers. She sighed, just wanting to rest now that it was over, but she couldn't get over it... her baby.... their baby was here. "What will we name her, Vl'kan...?" Iirla asked her weyrmate with a soft smile, looking at the child in her arms once again and holdign her close. Faranth... this baby was worth every ounce of pain she had gone through in baring her.... Iirla had been cleaned up, everything had, by now... it was rather nice to just relax... and just have Vl'kan and her child here with her... but it wouldn't last long she was sure...
She leaned back. "Vl'kan..." She patted the bed beside her, wanting him to come sit with her and their child.... their little daguhter. she really was rather small. Iirla smiled at her, obviously tired, but there was a certain glow about her...
Mine... you have a lovely little one... and I have 15 eggs resting on teh sands.... this ahs been a good and painful night...

J'dol shifted Inoria to his other arm once again. Truth be told, he had had no idea what to do with the child since she had come running onto the sands what felt like hours ago. Spazz had returned not long ago, chittering excitedly and sending him pictures of Iirla and the baby... and the process. J'dol shuddered as images of the birthing process flashed through his head again. Ugh. He was glad he wasn't a woman.
You are worried about her. kayath's sleepy voice cut into his mind. She was correct though, J'dol was worried about Iirla's well being, and images only helped see her so much... he wanted to go and congratulate her and check up on her. You may go. You're not pleasant company right now anyways. And get rid of the brat, she annoys me.
So it was that J'dol found himself at the entrance to Iirla's weyr, Inoria still held in his arms as he knocked quietly. "Iirla? It's J'dol... "

Ara was exhausted. Exhausted, slightly grossed out, entirely sharding happy...and scared out of her mind.
Now though, now looking at Iirla's sleepy smile while she held onto the baby girl? Well, Ara couldn't help but simply smile too. She's so....so... Tiny? Avirith crooned as she watched the scene through her rider's eyes, partially watching the two clutchmothers as well. That will be you too will it not? The Green's croon was gentle but excited as well, and Ara nodded her head only the slightest bit.
It had been so hard to watch, she could only imagine what it would be like going through it. "Can I get you anything Iirla?" Except, she thought she was probably too weak at the moment to do any walking. Inali could tell this though, and giving a little shake of her head the older woman went out to talk with the healer, a gentle hand patting her friend's back. "Don't worry about it Ali...just don't worry about it." The dark haired woman gave the shoulder a tight squeeze before disappearing.
She must have missed J'dol somehow though, because soon he was knocking on the door and Ara was the only one left to go get it. "Hey there....oh, here let me take her." Reaching up she let her hands slip around the little girl, holding her against her hip and smiling softly as Inoria quickly changed from one person to the other, nuzzling against her neck. "She's over there. It's a girl." Instead of worry too much about her weyrmate's reaction though the Greenrider bounced Inoria on her hip slightly, her hand holding the little girl's as she woke slightly.
"Momma...Iiwrla momma." Gray, blue eyes blinked as she looked at the Weyrwoman's form under the covers, the tiny bundle in her arms. "Yep, you're probably sleepy. So many voices talking huh?" When the girl yawned and nodded her head before settling it back on her shoulder, Ara couldn't help but blush but not in an embarrassed way. Is this what it's like? Her hand made soft little circles on the girl's back, her eyes shifting over to the Topazrider sheepishly.

Well shards and shells! That had to have been the longest night Vl'kan felt he's lived through. He was exhausted, not to mention a little queasy, and still suffering from a headache from when he, may or may not have, blacked out for a moment or two. His forehead was still wet from the cloth the healer had thrown at him as he dragged his hand down his face and rubbed wearily at his eye. I can't believe you fainted, Vl'kanMine. No rider of mine faints, not even for something as trivial as this. Vl'kan groaned to himself and sank deeper into the overstuffed chair he had been occupying. Though I did enjoy the screams and hearing their anguish. The garnet rumbled in a darkly draconic chuckle, his eyes flashing from where he lay curled in a corner of darkness, observing and carefully watching them all.
He straightened and slowly rose to his feet as Iirla spoke his name. Ah that's right, his child had entered the world! Shaking the remaining fog from his mind the Garnetrider walked over to the bed, paying little mind to the few others who occupied his weyr, and sat himself next to his weyrmate. A tired but cheery little grin broke across his features as he looked down at the newborn. She was perfect. Still smiling he gently pressed his lips into Iirla's hair before taking to leaning his head gently against hers. "A name?" Well he hadn't thought of that. Really a name had been the last thing on his mind. "I don't know," he replied at last with a hint of a frown furrowing his brow. "What do you think?" [/font]

Izanycorth rumbled happily as she felt hte happy feelings from hers. Kayath's, please help Mine and Mine's mate in the coming days... the gold crooned and very light licked the surface of her golden colored egg, her eyes surveying her clutch which she had arranged so that she could keep an eye on each of them and easily rise to protect them. They wre arranged in a semi-circle equal distance from herself. All of them would be protected. Would not have the chance of being stolen... and her beauty would be the msot protected.
Iirla smiled warmly at Vl'kan as he came and sat beside her and shifted slightly to lean a little more against him and shift their little daughter so she could see her father better. The little girl looked at him with her two differently colored eyes, one a brown color that resembled Iirla's and the other already looking to be a shade close to her father's. Iirla smiled and closed her eyes softly. "I was thinking... of calling her Kiira... What do you think, Vl'kan...?" she asked him softly, still feeling rather tired and in need of rest...
Iirla looked up at the sound of J'dol entering. "Come see her, J'dol..." she said softly, smiling warmly at her friend from where she sat and beckoning him over, still leaning into Vl'kan. Iirla smiled warmly at the little girl. "Yes, Inoria... You should rest..." She looked down at her own baby who seemed to yawn in agreement with that statement and closed her eyes, her little fingers closing together in a fist and then opening for a moment before she seemed to start to fall into sleep again. Iirla smiled at Ara. "You'll be a good mother, Ara," she said tiredly, adding silently to herself, probably a lot better than myself.
Mine... You will be a wonderful mother... Thormyth's won't she not be a wonderful mother?
Thank you, Iz... you've probably just made him more worried... Iirla gave an audible sigh.

J'dol smiled a little to himself. It was hard to believe a few months ago he hadn't thought of Iirla as anything more than his Weyrwoman. Now though, she was like the little sister he had never had. He would, without question, support her in the future. Vl'kan, now that was another story. He'd do what he could, but he wasn't quite sure how he would be able to help Vl'kan, short of just doing his duties. Besides, the man was strong, even if he HAD just passed over a little bit of childbirth. Wimp.
He jumped as Iirla beckoned him closer, but complied and shuffled towards the bed, glancing down curiously. He had never actually seen a baby as young as this. "She'll be as pretty as you are when she's older," He offered up lamely, not at all sure what he was supposed to say. This baby business was hard! He reddened as the weyrwoman spoke to Ara. Shards... news sure travelled fast!
