Korvin sighed as Naomi pulled away from him and hid. She had changed, she had changed so much since he had left. Was it his fault, or was it something else? Well, whatever it was, he hated it. Korvin hated weakness. He hated crying, wimpering and snivelling, and he knew Naomi was doing just that behind the tree, he could hear it. Kosk, Korvisk, go home. I don't need you for this. He heard Naosk's voice in his head, knowing a good friend would try to figure out what was wrong. Korvin wasn't a good friend though, he was hardly a friend at all sometimes.
"Pathetic." He finally called out to her, his arms crossed. "Wha' kinda huntress mopes b'hind a tree an' cries about a li'l wound on her leg." He rolled his eyes. He didn't have time for this; he just wanted to check her leg and be done with it. "Y'know wha'? Find me when y'stop being such an idiot!"
With that, he turned on his heels and began a lazy pace towards his whers. She'd be able to catch him if she wanted, but it seemed she wanted to be alone.

Naomi slowly lifted her head and looked sadly at her little family. Then Korvin’s words entered her ears. The look on her face had both canines and both whers slowly backing away from her, whimpering softly and wondering what was wrong. She slowly stood up, grabbed as many sticks and rocks as she could and started hurling them at the back of Korvin’s head. She wasn’t throwing them hard enough to do any actual damage, but if any of them hit they would leave some nasty bruises. I’M NOT CRYING BECAUSE OF MY LEG YOU INSENSITIVE, SELFISH JERK!!! WHY DON’T YOU TRY THINKING OF SOMEONE OTHER THAN YOURSELF FOR ONCE?! I CAN’T BELIEVE I LOVE SUCH A HEARTLESS PIECE OF WHERRY DUNG!!!!!! She was screaming as loud as she could, still throwing things at him.

Korvin winced as the first handful of sticks and rocks came his way, deftly dodging to the side and giving her a look of concern. She had finally snapped, lost it, gone insane! He didn’t know what it was that set her off, but it was a tad bit scary. He rolled his eyes as she added yelling to her attack. This was just getting ridiculous.
“Insensitive and selfish? Why d’ya think I’m here?! I just came lookin’ for ya so I could make sure y’were alright! How is tha’ selfish?” He stopped dodging and glared at her, only to be smacked on the jaw by one of her rocks. No doubt it would be a bruise by morning. “Shards and shells woman. Stop peltin’ me for no good reason!” He was too annoyed to realize there had been a confession thrown in there, but he was a bit too busy looking out for his own well-being. “You’re insufferable! Calm down an’ try bein’ rational for once!”

Naomi glared at Korvin as he started speaking, still throwing things at him. She was slowly running out of ammunition though she wasn’t really paying attention to that. I HAVE A GOOD REASON DAMN IT KORVIN!!! Tears were streaming down her face and her screaming was little more than a strangled sob. She was slowly shaking her head trying to get herself under control. She was out of sticks and rocks to throw at him, and was doing her best not to tackle him and start trying to pound his face in with her fists. I should have known you wouldn’t listen to a word I said. I shouldn’t be surprised, you’ve never cared about me or anything that has anything to do with me. She was hiccupping now as well as sobbing. She was torn between wanting to beat him to a bloody pulp or fall into his arms and try to make him understand that she loved him.

"No you don't, you shardin' woman!" He growled back. He didn't like being blamed for.. whatever it was he was being blamed for. He was positive that he was innocent in all this. As far as he was aware, he was showing he cared by seeking her out for this, so how was he being a terrible person? Weyrfolk! They were all so messed up! His expression darkened as she continued to berate him. She was truly trying his temper now, and the claim that he didn't care, after he had gone through so much trouble was the last straw.
"You're right." He hissed, his eyes narrowed dangerously and his voice colder than he had ever used with her before. "I don't care." It was a partial lie. He had cared for her, that much he understood. However, his weak form of love was for the stubborn, powerful woman who had become his rival, not this sniveling waste of space. He didn't have time for her games, no matter the reason behind them. Turning deftly on his heels, he stepped away.

Naomi glared at Korvin as he spoke, but there was no denying the pain in her heart at his final words before he turned to leave her alone in the forest. She started to sob uncontrollably and sank to the ground where she had stood. She hadn’t expected him to say what he had, but there was nothing she could do about it now. Now she knew the truth, he had never actually cared about her, and why should he have? The thought didn’t help the poor young woman’s mood as she sat on the ground with large tears streaming down her face. Her arms were wrapped around her knees and her head was buried in her arms as she cried. She knew there was no point in trying to control her emotions, and in reality she didn’t want to either. So her tears ran unchecked from her eyes that were slowly becoming bloodshot.
Akela and Sarabi sat as close to their owner as they possibly could and nuzzled her with their noses, trying to get her to stop crying. Naosk was at a loss as to what she should be doing, so she sat in front of her poor handler silently, trying to help mend her broken heart with her love for her handler. Nask was pacing back and forth from where His was now sitting to where Korvin had been standing. Nask need Kosk’s help. Nask’s loves Kosk’s, but Kosk’s says he not like Nask’s. Now Nask’s crying, and feel pain. Nask not know what to do. There was an obvious plea in the blue wher’s voice as he reached out to the little white that was his greatest friend, and who knew more about what was going on than most probably would. He didn’t know what to do, and was hoping that his friend would be able to fix things.

Had Naomi only known the truth. She held a special place in Korvin's heart, she always would. She was a first for many things and, over the Turns, had become quite the presence in his life. Yet, Korvin was a man who believed one needed to be strong to survive; he lived in a world where crying was a form of weakness and the only person you could blame was yourself. To have Naomi both crying and throwing blame around was something he despised, and his instincts for survival outweighed the feelings he had for her. In the wilds, he came first, and to Korvin the same rule applied here.
Kosk stepped out of the underbrush as Korvin moved away, though Korvisk was nowhere to be seen; the little bronze had gone home. Her steps were slow, thoughtful, and once she was fully visible she sat with her tail around her claws and her head cocked to the side. Her voice, when she finally spoke, was soft, but held a tone of wisdom. Kosk's care for Nask's. This is known. Kosk's does not like being blamed. Kosk's is angry, confused. There were some things the white could not explain however. She did not understand the emotions Hers was feeling.

Naomi had finally done it. She had pretty much just decimated any feeling Korvin might have had for her. She hated herself for it, but she knew it was better this way. She knew Korvin could finally have what he wanted, what he had told her he wanted, he could finally leave the Weyr and not have any ties to the place. She felt like digging a six-foot hole in the ground and burring herself in it. She probably would have if it weren’t for her canines and whers. I’m sorry, so so sorry. She was rocking herself now and kept repeating the phrase like a mantra. At least now he could be happy and maybe she could move on, though she knew deep down in her heart that she would never forget him, and would never forgive herself for causing any of this to happen.
Nask looked at his handler as the white wher’s voice echoed inside each of their minds. But it didn’t seem like Kosk’s words were having much effect on the distraught young woman. Nask's not listen. Nask’s say sorry, feel...breaking. Nask’s not want Kosk’s to go, but think Kosk’s want excuse to leave. There was total, utter confusion in the blue’s mind, and he wasn’t paying attention to who heard his voice so it wouldn’t be surprising if Korvin actually heard him. The only person in the entire forest who probably hadn’t heard the male’s voice was his handler. Naomi was still rocking herself, tears streaming down her face as she kept repeating I’m sorry, so so sorry. Her voice was a whispered sob that sounded as though it was stuck in her throat.

Korvin groaned. Shard it all was her stupid blue wher trying to guilt him into changing his mind? The hunter scowled, not at all happy with the way things were turning out. With a deep, frustrated breath, Korvin turned back and stomped up to Naomi, not at all caring if the canines or whers tried to stop him. He dropped down to a knee before her.
“Look ‘ere you. Stop apologizin’, stop moanin’, stop whinin’.” He hissed, the annoyance clear in his voice. He reached out to grab and lift her chin, trying to force her to look at him. “Yer weak, girl. Weaker now than I’ve ever seen you. It’s pathe’ic. How did som’un as weak as you impress two whers. How did y’ever impress me.” They weren’t really questions, more like he was just venting his thoughts. Leaning back, he reached out to pick her up and throw her over his shoulder.
“C’mon then. I’ll take ya t’yer weyr. Y’better stop cryin’ by the time we get there.” Despite his words, his touch was surprisingly gentle. Sure, seeing her acting like a regular old Holdgirl rubbed him the wrong way, but he couldn’t help but think the normal Naomi was still there somewhere. She just needed him to annoy her to bring it back out again.

Akela growled a warning as Korvin came back, but took a few steps away from the two humans to give them some room. She had learned from watching her owner that she had feelings for the man, though why she put up with him was beyond her. In the black and white canine’s mind he changed his own mind like most hold bred girls changed their dresses! Sarabi was just happy that the man that her owner wanted as a mate had come back to her. Her young mind thought of it as the accepting of Naomi as his mate, but what did she really know of the human mind or its feelings? She was four turns old and had only had enough time to study her own human, Akela, and the blue wher that her owner had originally impressed when she had taken her in. Naosk and Nask both crooned as Korvin returned, for they understood more clearly than the canines exactly just how strong Naomi’s feelings for the man were.
Naomi didn’t really register that Korvin had returned, or that her pets and bondeds had all moved away to give them some room, or the fact that Akela had growled a warning at him. She was pretty much blinded by all the tears that were now flowing like a river out of her light smoky grey eyes. She heard his voice, but it seemed to be coming from somewhere very far away and at first she ignored it, but then she felt someone touch her chin and she looked up and saw that he was kneeling right in front of her, and heard his voice again, though she didn’t really register his words. Her eyes widened at his last sentence and a flicker of recognition flickered across their surface. She stopped apologizing, and started replaying those last words over and over in her mind, trying to understand them, but felt as though her mind were in a fog.
Naomi didn’t put up any resistance when Korvin picked her up, it wasn’t until they were well out of the forest and on their way back to the Weyr did she actually came back to reality. She felt as though she was just waking from a horrid dream, but she was moving, and couldn’t have been dreaming could she? That’s when it hit her that she was moving, but the scenery was moving the wrong way. She looked down at the body that was carrying her and started to scream. PUT ME DOWN THIS INSTANT!!!!!! She started pounding on Korvin’s back, still screaming at him to put her down. The two canines and the two whers had followed the two humans as they left the forest, and each one of them yelped and jumped when Naomi started yelling. At least she had finally snapped back into herself right?

He was surprised at how cooperative Naomi was being about this whole carrying business. Truth be told, Korvin had expected her to put up a fight a lot sooner than she did. As it was, Kosk was making mild comments in the back of his mind, commenting on how ‘kind’ he was being about this now. Korvin scoffed and shifted Naomi as he walked, finally grinned as she started yelling at him. There was the Naomi he knew so well. He patted her back, chuckling to himself.
“Do ya really need t’hit me?” He growled before loosening his grip and dropping her on the ground. “You ready t’be yerself now?” He asked, crossing his arms and glaring down at her, rather annoyed at the bruises he would likely have on his back after this. The bruises were easy enough to ignore; he had gotten much worse in the wild. What worried him was how terribly odd Naomi had been. “Wha’ the hell caused you t’start cryin like a hold girl, idiot?”
He sighed and looked down at her, genuine concern flashing through his eyes briefly. He liked Naomi, when she was being her usual argumentative self. She reminded him of his family, of his home. It was something he understood how to deal with, and respect. Crying though, was something he just couldn’t handle. It was a sign of weakness.

Naomi growled, a sound that actually sounded quite feral, as Korvin patted her back and chuckled. YES DANM YOU NOW PUT ME DOWN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! She had barely finished screaming when she felt him loosen his grip and felt herself being dropped on the ground. She growled again as she picked herself up and started to dust herself off. Her mind was still in a fog, and it felt as though there was something it was trying to make her remember but she just couldn’t place it, so she tried to just ignore it for now and would figure it out later. After she dealt with this pain her butt first that is. What in Faranth’s name are you talking about Korvin? I’ve always been myself. It was obvious that she honestly didn’t know what he meant in the curiousness of her voice.
You really know how to make a girl feel special don’t you? Her voice was sarcastic and her hands were on her hips as she spoke. What do you mean? I haven’t cried since I was a child and the dog that raised me died thank you very much. Naomi was now looking at Korvin as though he had lost his mind, but she didn’t really feel like that was the case. Her throat was sore, and so were her eyes for that matter, which normally meant that someone had been crying extensively. She just couldn’t remember when or why she would have been crying. It just didn’t make sense to her, no matter how she looked at it, or how hard she thought about it. She didn’t know what it meant, but she had a strange feeling in her stomach which just confused her even more.
IT’S YOUR FAULT ISN’T IT?! Naomi then glared at Korvin and her right hand came flying from her hip, aimed directly at his face. She knew that if he let her to slap him it would not only leave a very painful mark on his cheek but it would also make her hand sting and most likely go numb. She didn’t know why, but she just felt so sure that he had done something that had made her upset, she just couldn’t remember what yet. Oh how he would pay when she did remember though! She would make sure that she didn’t kill him, after all, she liked Kosk and didn’t want to do anything to hurt the little white female. She did however, hope that Kosk wouldn’t mind her making her handler’s face turn black and blue. For when she was done he would certainly need to see a healer.

He winced as a hand connected with his cheek, though otherwise he ignored the pain. He simply glared at her, contemplating his next course of action before stepping towards her, trying to force her to step back so he could pin her against the nearest wall. His expression was clearly unimpressed as he approached.
“Look ‘ere girl.” He hissed, leaving no room for discussion. “You’ve done nothin’ but blame me fer everything that’s wrong in yer life. I won’t take that girl. I won’t tolerate ya cryin’ and bitchin’ at me. If ya want some softy to lend ya a shoulder, I’m not it.” He reached out, trying to grab her wrists to make sure she couldn’t slap him again. “I dunno what kinda game yer playin’, but I want no part in it.” He sighed again, his shoulders drooping in exhaustion. There was something about Naomi that just tired him out.
“I dunno why ya were cryin’ , and clearly yer tryin to pull something, but I’m glad t’see ya got some fight back. Yer much more attractive when y’aren’t a sniveling, pathetic blob.” He was still trying to step as close to her as he could manage, hoping to intimidate her as much as possible.

Naomi didn’t even wince when her hand connected with Korvin’s face. Instead she stood as tall as she could at a total height of five-feet-four-inches tall she was still shorter than Korvin’s five-feet-eight-inches. She was looking up into his face, her own a giant mixture of anger, confusion, pain, and guilt. She stepped back, step-for-step, as Korvin stepped towards her. It was obvious to her that he wasn’t impressed with her actions, but at the moment she wasn’t even sure if they had been her own actions. But she couldn’t stop the feral growl that emanated from her throat when he called her a girl. She had seen and been through too much to tolerate being called a girl. She was a woman, and once she had a chance she was gonna make sure he knew it, though she just didn’t know how yet.
I still have no idea what you are talking about Korvin. Have you totally lost your mind? Naomi crossed her arms over her chest and glared at Korvin as she spoke. Then she felt his hands at her wrists, pulling them down and pinning them against the wall behind her. Wait, when had a wall appeared behind her? Her head was spinning, pictures of her curled up on the ground crying like a newborn baby, pushing him away with everything she had, her heart breaking. She started to sway, and her face became very pale as she tried to make sense of the pictures. I’m…I’m not playing a game…am I? She was slightly afraid, and it showed in her voice, and in the shiver that raced through her body making the hair on her arms and on the back of her neck stand on end.
Naomi barely noticed how close Korvin was now, but at least this time she had registered his words, and a light blush was touching her cheeks. He thought she was attractive? When had this happened? Was he just lying to her to hurt her? So many questions were now mixing in with the pictures that were swimming right behind her eyes. Mine doesn't remember and feels as though she may faint. The gentle voice that now attempted to touch Korvin’s mind belonged to the little green wher that was now stepping up beside the two humans, and almost as if Naosk’s words had been her trigger, Naomi fainted. She would probably fall to the ground in a slump if Korvin let go of her wrists. Naosk just sat down and looked curiously at Naomi as the woman twitched slightly.
((OOC: Don’t worry, my next post I’ll have her wake up and remember what happened. ;P Though it might help if he hit her a little lol. God knows he’s endured more than his fair share of abuse from her. XD ))

Was she serious? Had she honestly forgotten the ridiculous show she had just put on? Korvin growled back, annoyed with her for being such a pain. He should have just left when he had the chance, left her to the care of her whers. You know you would have felt guilty.[/b][/color]. Kosk’s voice was a knife in his mind, and even as Korvin looked over to glare at the white he knew it was true. He would have ended up turning around and going back to her; if only to keep his conscious clear.
“A’ve I lost my mind? Stupid girl! Y’been yellin’ and cryin’ like a babe fer a while! Don’t you be callin’ me the crazy one!” Shards was she ever a pain! In fact, if it wasn’t for her whers constantly trying to clarify things, Korvin probably would have ripped out his hair long ago. He rolled his eyes at the green’s words, not putting much validity on her warning. Rather, he was hoping Naomi wasn’t so weak that she would faint. Of course, the thought had barely passed through his mind before the huntress’ body fell limp and it was only his grip on her wrists that kept her from falling straight to the ground.
“Y’gotta be kiddin me. You, wher, keep a better eye on yer girl. She ain’t stable.” He growled at the green before leaning down and giving a couple gentle slaps across her cheek, trying to wake her up with physical contact. Regardless of whether it woke her up or not, Korvin once again threw her over his shoulder and continued on towards the weyr. It seemed she needed to lie down or something.
