R'vin sat leaned against his dragon and looked out at see then picked up a smooth shell... and threw it out into the waves, watching as the water just brought it back again.
And like those shells... his problems couldn't be cast into the sea. The sea just carreid them back. They didn't sink.. the same shell washed up on the beach again. It was no rock tha would sink to the bottom... but his problem was not so light on his heart as that shell was on the water. In fact... it felt like their was a sea in him... stormy, turbulent, violent, and painful... but only to him and to Umeith who could feel what he felt.
Umeith crooned softly. But he said nothing. Things that he said.... well... there was little he could say. H was not a dragon meant for such things. Smart, but a warrior, no poet or philosopher. He was iron. Steel. Un-bothered by most everything.
R'vin patted the blue hide of his dragon for a moment and picked up a bit of sand. Feeling the breeze in his shaggy black hair. That shell... the sand... Why did everything turn his thoughts back on it... In a way anyways. Of course... he ahd been dwelling since the other day. Wit J'dol and Ara. And Faranth! J'dol. He sighed and shook his head, letting hte sand run tough his fingers as if he was trying to let the thought go. He wasn't getting anywhere of course... even with his little... metaphorical gestures. Sure it was stupid... but sometimes... he felt like being the poet. He sighed and looked up at the moonlit sky. He had been out here for... he wasn't sure how long.
Though... he jsut hopd that he could start to finally get this figured out because he wasn't sure hwo much mroe of this he coudl take...
How many more storms... how much more uncertainty... Faranth... he owuld lvoe if the wind just blew over.

There had been so many things on his mind as of late; his responsibilities, his dragon's eggs, his pending fatherdom... Even the always cheerful J'dol had been having a hard time smiling for a few days. Finally, enough was enough and the topazrider had finally exclaimed he needed a break. He had left Kayath and her eggs in the very capable hands of his weyrmate and simply taken off.
He ran through the forest in typical J'dol fashion - shirtless - trying to relax himself of the daily pressures. It was working. Running had always helped calm him down when he needed it and was one of the few activities he liked as much as sex. I still think you should be here with me. Kayath was not happy about being left behind, but there was little J'dol could do about that; she wouldn't leave her eggs after all.
The ocean was in sight now, just a little farther and he could take a break from his running and relax. He slowed to a stop on the soft sands, leaning over with his hands on his hips and panting from the exersion. A thin sheen of sweat covering his well toned body. He had half a mind to just run into the ocean. In fact, make that a full mind. He jogged into the water, pants and dunked himself to get rid of the sweat, not at all noticing that there was company nearby. That is, until he stepped back out of the water.
"R'vin? Hey," He said with a lazy wave, not at all aware that he was the cause of turmoil for the other man. "Want some company?" He flopped into the sand by R'vin, not bothering to really wait for a response, and stretched out; his chest still rising and falling quickly as he fought to catch his breath.

R'vin looked up at the sound of J'dol's voice calling his name, but he couldn't even get out an answer before the Jr. Weyrlord flopped down beside him soaking wet. He blinked, not sure what to say adn feelign the slightest flush come to his face as he looked at him and his bare chest. Faranth.
He was quiet, breathing in and out slowly. "H-hi... J-J'dol." He blinked in surprise and leaned back against Umeith again who wrapped his neck protectively around his rider, crooning softly as he attempted to comfort him as the feelings rose up in him again and threatened to overwhelm him. "How is Ara and how are Kayath and her eggs doing...?
R'vin smiled softly at J'dol, trying to keep his eyes from wandering over the Topazrider's chest again. Faranth. Why did heahve t make this so hard. He bit his tongue as he was about to say something a bit nasty just to cover up his feelings...
R'vin sighed and put a hand over his face, pinching the bridge of his nose. I'll be okay... alright love.. he said mentally wiht hsi dragon, giving a slight smile and rubbing at an eyeridge. Umeith, crooning softly and set his head back down on his paws.

He shivered slightly in the cool night air, regretting having been so rash with running into the water like that. He did suppose it was better than sweat though... He grinned at R'vin and tucked his hands behind his head to make himself comfortable.
"You'd swear everyone was out to get her... the way she protects those eggs. And Ara..." He trailed off for a moment, his mind once again wandering to the conversation they had had... her pregnancy. He shook his head; that wasn't the kind of thing to talk about right now. It wasn't yet a certainty and J'dol wasn't quite ready to really accept it. "She's... good." J'dol flashed the man another smile, not at all aware of his discomfort.
"So what brings you all the way out here R'vin? Moonlight stroll? Escaping the Weyr? Waiting for a special lady?" He added a wink to his final guess to show he was simply teasing. He sighed contently as the sand created a comfortable nook for him to rest in.

R'vin looked at J'dol just briefly. Faranth. Why did he have to show up here! And now! Of all times. "Are you sure about that... because you don't sound too terribly convinced..." He looked at him then with some concern, worried about him as well, though he tried not to.... let it get to him.
R'vin rolled his eyes. "And who do you think that would be, J'dol?" he sounded a bit snappish. He was irritated, after all. He didn't know how to deal with this. not at all... "And what are you doing out here?" That was a bit more civil. He sighed and scrubbed at his face, irritated with himself.
He bit his lip and sighed as he looked at him.
Umeith gave a huff of irritation. His could not handle this, he did not think. He wanted to take him out of here. So he would be calm and not so full of turmoil and irritation... and anger... yes anger.
"You know... it's not always so easy...." That was all he said. It was a cryptic statement, one that likely made little to no sense. He sighed and stood, running a hand thorugh his head and walking towards the water a short ways before picking up another shell near his foot and throwing it as hard as he could out at the waves, sending it significantly further than the last one he had thrown... but it wasn't... as if he had really succeeded in getting rid of his problem as he wished the action would do... He sitll felt it jsut as badly...

He gave a nervous chuckle, not entirely sure how to respond. He thought Ara was okay... but the news she had dropped was huge and no doubt she was at least worried about things... whether it was the child or, like usual, him. "I guess this mother business is just getting to all of us..." He paused with a sigh, "Kayath's being a pain lately." He gave R'vin a searching look as the normally playful man got snappy.
"Whoa there, I was just joking." J'dol sat up, leaning towards him, clearly worried. Whether it was his normal self that was showing such worry, or whether it was Kayath's mothing instincts shining through, J'dol couldn't say. "Hey, what's bothering you? You want to talk about it?" The bluerider was standing and moving back towards the water and J'dol, for once, felt he should stay where he was.

He blinked. "Kayath is usually finding some way to be a pain, J'dol... yet... Umeith is still enamored with her no matter what she does or says. He's still sore she didn't pick him actually." He sighed... Then of course, came J'dol's comment about meeting someone here... a girl... and he snapped, which was not good.
R'vin said nothing and sighed, picking up a rock half buried in the sand and throwing it as hard as he could into the ocean, watching where it splashed. "That got some distance..." he muttered, as if trying to distract J'dol. He closed his eyes, feeling the breeze on his face and enjoying the feeling of it... it was cold and cool. It felt like it was trying to cool his frustrations and embarrassment. He hoped that J'dol couldn't see that his cheeks had turned a slight shade of red. Faranth.
He looked over at Umeith, the blue getting up and walking slowly and carefully to his rider's side, eyes whirling colors of agitation.

J'dol rolled his eyes as R'vin started throwing stones, clearly trying to avoid whatever was on his mind. Had it been his comments? He didn't realize the man would be that offended by a few jokes like that. With a sigh he finally rose, stepping closer to R'vin and throwing an arm over the man's shoulder lazily.
"Good throw," He commented before glancing at R'vin out of the corner of his eyes, a large grin spreading across his face as he noticed the light blush, obvious even with the low light. He lifted a hand to poke at the bluerider's cheek. "If I didn't know any better I'd say you have a cruuuuuush, don't you." It was a statement more than a question.

R'vin froze as J'dol's arm was thrown over his shoudlers, turning a deeper color of red. Faranth! Why did he have to touch him! He felt butterflies in his stomach and felt like he was going weak in the knees. He stayed perfectly and absolutely still, or as much as he could. A shiver ran up his spine. Faranth. He bit his tongue to keep from saying something he might regret for the moment.
"Th-thanks..." he stuttered before biting his tongue again and standing there with J'dol's arm thrown over his shoulders.
R'vin frowned and pulled away from J'dol's poking hand irritably, mumbling something incoherently. "Yeah, sure..." was all he said in the end, grateful for his dragon's presence. He had his back to J'dol again, trying to keep him from seeing his expression.

Man he was tense! Where was the R'vin he and Ara had messed with! It's not like alcohol had been involved that time really... so what was causing the bluerider to be so anti-social today? He sighed at the irritaded response his teasing got, but grinned as R'vin semi-admitted to having feelings. Was that really what his mood was all about? J'dol HAD been trying to tease, but maybe the bluerider legitimately needed someone to talk to? After all, he hadn't told J'dol to leave or anything.
"Look R'vin, you're awfully tense..." His arm moved back until his hand was resting on the man's shoulder instead. He gave a slight squeeze of support before speaking up again. "Why don't we sit down. Let me give you a massage." He motioned to higher on the beach, "You don't have to talk about it if you don't want to, but let me help you relax a bit okay?" For all the J'dol could be an unbearable flirt at times, he truly did care for his friends, and it worried him that R'vin was acting so strangely. Especially since he had always thought the bluerider to be rather forward.

R'vin looked at J'dol and seemed to consider. He could just be opening himself up for more hurt. But he finally gave a sigh and nodded. "Alright J'dol." He turned and walked further up the beach again and sat cross legged in the sand, looking down at the sand. "So... are you going to ask?" he asked the topaz rider without another though, his eyes closed and his voice a bit tense.
It needed to be out in the open, but he couldn't just say it. J'dol had Ara after all. Faranth. There was a lot to think about. a lot that could be messed up.
He had enjoyed himself with J'dol and Ara...
((I'm sorry! It's so short!!! x.x))

He followed R'vin up the beach, getting himself comfortable behind the bluerider before resting his hands on the man's shoulders and beginning a soft but firm massage. He remained quiet for moment as he worked on the tight muscles, hoping to relax R'vin at least a little bit.
"No, I'm not," He replied, his voice sounding uncaring at first, but then he stopped massging in order to lean over the other man's shoulder and used his hand to make R'vin look at him. "R'vin, I can't force you to tell me what's wrong. Sharing is something you have to decide for yourself. That said, I'm here to listen if you want to get it off your chest." He leaned back and continued the massage. "I care about you R'vin... it worries me to see you so.. down in the dumps."

R'vin looked at J'dol in mild surprise, almost wishing it was a kiss coming and not just a look. He sighed. J'dol was something else sometimes. He leaned back against him with a sigh. "J'dol... I..." He stopped short and frowned. How exactly was he supposed to say that. How exactly was he supposed to say that he was interested in guys and he was... in love with the man behind him.
He bit his lip and just burried his face in his hands giving an exasperated sigh. He wanted to tell him, he truly did, but how was he supposed to? "Growing up... I was raised in a hold. A man was not supposed to be attracted to or much less... fall in love with a man..." He lifted his head slightly. "I can't... It can't be. And yet..." That was all he said, forcing the words out, his eyes far away and a bit... dead as his emotions warred within him. He felt disgust for himself... as well as... a certain relief and truth in what he was saying.
