Of what she is....
Many ask themselves what is the most noticeable feature they have physically; it is something they strive to understand because, it is after all, what makes others take the time to seek them out. Kytrie as a youngster was no different, and the first thing that came to mind as she looked into a looking glass, were her eyes. They're what many have called an intriguing shade of jade green, milky in the way that they have a clouded look to them. Ringed by darker, forest green, they tend to pop out from the lighter color of her skin and hair. Set in almond shaped lids and shaped by dark, full lashes, Kytrie uses her best asset to any advantage she can get, whether that be fluttering them flirtatiously, or narrowing them in anger or dislike.
Her face, an elongated heart structure with a strong jaw and proud nose, is framed by long tendrils of half wavy, half curly golden brown and dirty blonde hair. It has a habit of getting into her eyes, and to fix that Kytrie often pulls her bangs back with a clip or bit of leather, and at times just pulls the mass of hair entirely out of the way. Tanning for her unfortunately isn't something that is easy, in fact Kytrie barely gets passed a golden glow in her attempts at keeping the normal pallor from her skin. Because of this, she is often either somewhat red from a sunburn, or can be seen with small patches where her skin has burned and flaked off revealing pale white underneath.
Despite this, her body draws attention more for its toned appearance than the skin that covers it. Her long legs and arms have a layer of thin, yet strong, muscle and her stomach is flattened by her constant morning workouts. She has curves as well, ones that create a slight hourglass shape that is somewhat bigger around her hips than her chest, but unfortunately in her mind does not follow around to her backside giving her a slightly flat looking rear.
Even though all of this is noticeable, and yes Kytrie believes her eyes to be the most noticeable, there is one thing that tends to get people's attention more. That is, if they happen to get close enough to see it. She has a scar ranging from the corner of her left hip, arcing up across her back to her right shoulder from when a hatchling mauled her during her early candidate years. It's often covered for the most part by her tunics and vests, but every once in a while the whole thing gets seen by someone and Kytrie has to either shake it off and change the subject, or withdraw from the situation.
To make up for that, she uses a wide, confidant gate. Or at least what she hopes is a confidant one. It's important for her to look not only her best, but also as an independent individual that needs no one's help or pity. Because of this, childish looking clothes or movements are discarded, and she forces herself not to give away her nerves through small quirks. Two quirks that she will do so often that she has trouble hiding however, are picking at her nails and running her hands through her hair or twirling it.
Like her stance and movement, Kytrie keeps her voice level and direct at all times except whenever she is with someone she truly trusts...which isn't often. When something is only a small bother it may surprise her enough to let her voice raise or have a heavier tone of annoyance and anger. However, when you hear her just grow cold in her voice by becoming snappy, blunt, and even somewhat monotone, that's when she's really upset and one should step lightly.
....and who she is....
Some people will attest to being cold or aloof toward others, but they always either come short in action or have their exceptions. Kytrie however, is like that to anyone and everyone, no matter the situation. She's a steal wall, one that never lets anyone through, not even her adoptive sister. It's harsh yes, but it's safest that way and Kytrie prefers to be safe than sorry. She hardly ever starts a conversation unless it gets her somewhere, and even when another begins it, if the girl thinks there is nothing to gain she won't reply. If she does and there's no ulterior motivation, then she's is bored, and even that is something to be wary of.
Right along with that though, is the fact that she can't trust anyone. Not that she's unwilling, but that she can't. Kytrie has tried to trust a select few, namely her "sister", but even then it falls short. There's always that other shoe that she waits for to drop, or there's always some paranoia that the trust will come back to bite her in the rear. After a few turns of feeling like this, and when she happened to relax a bit learned why she should never do such a thing, it just became ingrained for her to push people away unless she needed to use them.
Perhaps it's also because Kytrie always takes the pessimistic outlook on people instead of the optimistic one. She honestly is prepared for the worst to happen, always assuming that someone is interested only to get something, mainly because she's that way herself. It's hard to ignore the bad in the world when you're wrapped up in it after all. The strangest thing about this trait though, is that Kytrie has an odd habit of doing the exact opposite in terms of events.
The girl will do everything to justify or see the good in what happens. "Oh, it happened for a reason," or "no, that can't be they had to have known." She has an excuse for everything as well, saving her butt, and at times, other ones as well due to her knack for pointing out loop holes and wiggling her way out of situations. However, even this attribute has its weaknesses.
Despite acting like she doesn't care sometimes, or her cold attitude and aloof behaviors, Kytrie also just doesn't have much patience. Whether it's with children, or others her age, or especially those that are older, or even something like waiting to figure something out, she hates to do it. Oh yes, Kytrie hates waiting with a passion, and can be stripped down to a snobby child if it goes on long enough. Of course she gets terribly embarrassed and is incredibly likely to point faults out in others to make herself feel better, but it's just one of those quirky side-effects that only happens with certain cases. In the end though, it will ruin everything from her game plan, to her ability to reason with others or wiggle her way out of tight situations.
Also because of that lack of patience, Kytrie has a hard time spanning herself out with multiple tasks. She has to work on one at a time, getting through it as quickly as possible while still doing an adequate job, and then she can move her attention to something else. She is diligent in her work though, putting her full attention into the job at hand, whether she hates it or not. It's mostly because she also sees them as challenges, and Kytrie is very competitive. Even if it's some silly little thing, she has to beat everyone else.
Naturally, that competitive edge goes hand in hand with the fact that she gets jealous easily. This is especially in the case of recognition. She wants it, and she wants it all. She will fight, and not in the cleanest and most justified of ways either, to make sure she comes out on top. The girl has even been known to sabotage competitors or lure them into a false sense of security. Besides in the case of recognition, this also tends to pop up with social groups as well.
Kytrie is a flirt, a huge flirt, but only when she sees that it can benefit her. Oh yes, one might be curious as to how the girl that refuses to start a conversation normally can suddenly change to someone that will do anything to make herself seen, but it's all in what she gets for her actions. Generally the prize she goes after is mistaken trust, money, or just plain competition with another person. She does this with anyone she sees, it doesn't even matter if they're male or female, younger or older than she. There is no limit to what she will do either, and she will go as far as she has to to make sure that all eyes are on her. The only time she will ignore someone in the end is if they either become boring, or if the incentive suddenly becomes lesser than her ultimate goal.
In fact, when she's "working", or in other words trying to take down the rebellion, nothing is allowed to distract her. She will put off competition, flirting, everything in order to focus wholeheartedly on the task at hand, because nothing to Kytrie is more important. Her life is taking apart Noita's work bit by bit, and she's become so obsessed into getting her revenge on her half-sister and the Obsidianrider, that there is at times nothing else she can think of. After so many turns of feeling that it was they who ruined her life and her family, she can't see any other outcome in her life but avenging the childhood that was taken from her.
Really, Kytrie also has a problem with taking anything too seriously, not just her ultimate goals. She doesn't give a flip if it's something as little as watching the weyrbrats, or as big as candidacy and impression, every task deserves her utmost level of attention during the time that she does them. Anything less would mean that the job isn't worth her time, and Kytrie only agrees to things that she thinks can help her. Unfortunately, this also means that the girl has pretty nasty grudges.
After all, the entire reason she's in the rebellion, a society she despises yet strangely understands, is because she hates her half-sister. When Kytrie has a grudge, she doesn't let it go. She's tenacious in her appetite for vengeance and even enjoys carrying out that of others' as well. One might say she just likes the feeling of her blood boiling and the satisfaction when she finally gets to one up the person or thing that she hates.
As with most of her personality, one thing leads into another, and here the need for revenge and ability to hold onto lasting grudges also stems from her innate need to voice every opinion she ever has had and will have. Unless you, your friend, your parents, and your parents friend knows, it's not good enough. This girl is stubborn, she knows what she knows, and no one can change it, and everyone has to understand that. You don't have to necessarily agree, but you sharding well have to listen.
To wrap it all up, Kytrie hates authoritative figures. Does she understand that someone has to be in charge? Yes. However, that person has to be her other wise she will not like you at all, especially if you're a man. The girl has daddy issues, bad ones, and she doesn't trust men easily nor does she take orders well from them. Women are only somewhat easier, and even then she tends to go to the beat of her own drum.
The oddest thing about Kytrie though, is that she can't stand to see others in true pain. Not the boo-hoo, little issues and tears sort, but the kind that's truly hurtful and heart-wrenching. She will sooner walk away from it and ignore the cries for help than get involved. She just can't, Kytrie doesn't even understand why. If you try to cry in front of her, she will sooner slap you to try and break you out of it than comfort you. So, it's probably better that she doesn't stick around.
Likewise, she can't commit to anything but her ultimate goal of taking down the rebellion and making her half-sister miserable. This naturally means that any relationship she has is fleeting and almost non-existent. If she pulls out the charm for more than a few nights, it's because she wants something, and not to love you forever. Nothing is allowed to get in the way of her ambitions. She just won't allow it to happen.

....and everything that has made her....
Heritage:
To explain Kytrie's story, you have to understand that of her mother and father. Her mother was a Greenrider, and like all Greenriders, she had to deal with frequent flights. For much of that time, she shared a partner with a good friend of hers, the rider who would later give birth to Inali. You probably have guessed by now, that partner was both Kytrie and Inali's father.
He had first promised to be only with Kytrie's mother, but when it was the other rider who got pregnant, he quickly changed his mind. That didn't stop his dragon from chasing both greens though. Four turns after he chose to be with Inali's mother, Kytrie's became pregnant with her. Upset that the bronzerider would still not be with her, she requested a transfer and didn't tell anyone she was with child. In all honesty she had hoped the trip between would take away that part of the issue.
Nine months later however she still had a baby girl to do something with. It wasn't unheard of, after all the blackness of between never was a hundred percent sure. However, the greenrider wanted nothing to do with the girl and have her to the crèche workers. Burke eventually adopted Kytrie as her own daughter, being one of the workers to care for her the most.
Childhood:
For all of her life as soon as she was old enough to recognize she was too different from Hellunne and Hyrie's dark skin and hair to be their family, Kytrie knew the story. Hyri though told it from a biased stand point, often making the whole ordeal seem to be a very bad case of misfortune. Because of this Kytrie began to form a hatred of the one thing that took her family away from her; the child that the other greenrider had become pregnant with.
Inali was something Kytrie kept tabs on up in Telgar Weyr. It was fairly easy since the older girl had impressed to a Gold, which also angered Kytrie even further. How dare the girl that ruined her life impress such a creature as a Queen?!? Kytrie started then and there making plans. She would do anything to make Inali feel the same alienation and betrayal she did, the question was just how.
Candidacy:
The need to avenge her lost heritage consumed Kytrie do that even at hatchings she only considered what would help her best. When the new colors started to show up and then fighting broke out Kytrie found a new target to pursue. The first step in harming Inali was to harm the thing she cared about and since Loraketh had already betweened SE wanted to take down the new colors she had hatched.
More than that though, she hated Noita for ruining the lives of others around her. In fact, Kytrie hated just about everyone. At 19 turns she finally realized what she could, no had, to do. She found the nearest recruiter, a fear not easily done in her case since she was only a candidate with broken origins, and she asked to be taken there.
