Ugh. Of all ways to spend his day, this was not one of them. He still didn't quite know HOW he had been talked into this - visiting S'vrin, or rather, it was Sevrin now wasn't it. J'dol couldn't for the life of him figure out why anyone thought him going to see the ex-rider was a good idea. It wasn't exactly secret that they shared no fondness for eachother.
He sighed. Regardless of how silly he thought this idea was, he nonetheless found himself on the way to Sevrin's weyr to comfort him or something. Maybe that was their plan? Maybe they thought he would 'comfort' Sevrin in his classic J'dol way! Well... he supposed the image was rather entertaining. He shifted the bag on his shoulder with another sigh, listening intently to the sound of wine sloshing in the skins he carried. His plan, of course, was to drown Sevrin in wine and get out of there with as little pain as possible.
He took a deep breath as he stepped up to the door. Maybe this would all go smoothly and he could be in and out quickly. He banged a fist against the door a few times before deciding he wasn't going to even bother playing this part of the game; no doubt the dragonless man wouldn't open his door for him anyways. So of course, J'dol lifted a foot and tried to kick down the door.
"Oy! Let me in old man!"

Sevrin wasn't in a particularly good mood just as it were. He had pulled back his hair, which because of his caretakers' pesterings was nicely cleaned, and he was currently pulling on a fresh pair of pants. It was different; his life, his room, even his appearance. Looking into the looking glass he noticed that he wasn't so stern, he was...almost normal now, or at least what normal for him used to be. A second ache accompanied the one his dead sister had left, but that was alright. It felt better to be honest.
He breathed in a sharp breath as he heard knocking, and the voice was one he would have rather waited a full Pass before hearing again. "Why the shards would I want to let you in Weyrwoman." He sneered, pulling a jest at the title knowing J'dol would take offense. He pushed his bangs back, grabbing for a shirt and pushing his arms through the holes, he didn't bother to button it though and instead just nudged the door open with his foot. "Come on, other wise that Greenrider of yours will have Iirla on my ass."
He grimaced, turning his back on the Topazrider and walking slightly unsteadily toward the hearth where the firelizard eggs were nestled into a pot. Taking a wooden stick he turned them both carefully, a look of utter concentration and even adoration on his face. He was finding everything to live for in these two. Sighing, he settled on the chair next to them, kicking up his feet on the desk it accompanied. "So, what did you want J'dol?"

No doubt J'dol was as unhappy with being here as Sevrin was, but he was Weyrlord and he had a duty to do, though why anyone wanted him to babysit he would never understand, especially since rumor had it that Iirla was actually getting along with the man. Surprisingly though, Sevrin let him in without any difficulty and for a moment J'dol wondered if the man was insane. But no, he was sane enough to make stabs at that stupid title of his. Weyrlord... it was Weyrlord. He'd make it official one day! He held his tongue, if only because he knew the women would complain if he didn't at least give this a good shot. Apparently, Sevrin was of a similar mindset.
"At least you don't have to deal with both of them," he replied, as he came in, a tad upset that he hadn't gotten to kick the door down. At least things were going smoothly... he couldn't really ask for more when you stuck two people who disliked eachother in a room. He dropped his bag on the floor near a chair, pulling two of the skins out and tossing one at Sevrin, aiming for it to land on his lap if the man failed to catch it.
"Apparently they think you need a friend, and for some reason I was the best choice." He looked over the man, taking a gulp of wine, mulling over how.. human Sevrin had seemed for a moment there. It... it wasn't right. He had seen how Inali reacted to losing her dragon, and Dalrian as well... so why was Sevrin so different? His weird behaviour wasn't the only thing J'dol noticed of course. He put no effort into hiding his gaze as his eyes took in the tantalizing skin he could see through the unbuttoned shirt. Well, what do you know, he wasn't half bad looking when he wasn't in a threatening position of power.
"Well, old man, drink up. Ara says I'm not to leave you alone until we've become friends and you've confessed your love for me." Well, so he was really only supposed to keep the man company for a bit. Either way, he supposed it was as good an excuse as any to have a good drink. He took another swig of wine and watched Sevrin.

"Oh, but I have plenty of others to deal with." He bit back most of the irritation that he felt from his response, because he truly was happy to have them. They kept him from going too far into a depression, and they had saved him those first few days. He grabbed the bag as it was tossed to him, uncorking it and taking a swig in one swift and easy move. Oh yes, this was a nice little incentive for dealing with the Topazrider for a few candlemarks. Sevrin could get used to this. Letting his body relax and settle into the chair he listened to the younger man talk.
Barking a laugh he shook his head. "Sorry kid, but as much as your weyrmate would like, I'm not fulfilling your two's fantasies of a threesome." He took another swig, closing his eyes but still giving a glance to the two eggs. I'm a sharding Queen. What in Faranth's name have this lot turned me into? He shook off the thought though, scratching his stubble that had grown in already despite the shave he took a few days ago. "So, how long will it be 'till that Topaz of yours clutches? 'Nother month, month and a half I'd say. Maybe two at the most right?"
He moved the conversation to something more genuine. It wasn't about lovers or teasing each other so much, it was just news. News was always good. "Wonder when these things'll hatch too. Did you get one? Or that girl of yours? Funny, would have thought you'd go for the guys instead J'dol." Okay, so he couldn't help but hit those spots. They were just too much fun, and he leaned back as he waited to hear the younger man's answer.

"Well aren't you mister popular." He took another swig, nodding in approval as Sevrin gave no hint of hesitation before uncorking his own skin and drinking. Was J'dol promoting alcohol as a solution to potential depression? Yes, yes he was. All things considered though, J'dol hadn't expected the alcohol and his company to be accepted so easily. It was weirding him out just a little bit. Where was the rude, hard to deal with pain in the - oh there he was.
"Sad to say but I don't do threesomes... I know I know, its a right shame! I'd be sad too if I were you." He replied, watching the man's eyes return to the flitter eggs again, still bewildered at how.. soft Sevrin looked as he watched them. "Well, your guess is as good as mine. I've never seen a topaz clutch. Here's hoping it's not too long. The idiot demanded I bring her boiled wherries and a bucket of fish just the other day. I didn't know dragons could have rediculous cravings." Or maybe his princess was just insane. It was a good possibility.
He certainly didn't mind the direction the conversation had turned, though he was surprised Sevrin was so willing to talk dragons. It was a comfortable topic though, and anything that made this easier on the two of them was good in J'dol's books. "I hatched an interesting little blue from Aries' clutch." Interesting was sort of the right word for the tri-winged flit. As the man finished speaking though, J'dol couldn't help the cocky smile.
"What if I did go 'for the guys'? Would you offer yourself up to sate my lust?" His voice had a playful tone and he gave an over-top sweep of Sevrin's body, he even went so far as to lick his lips in the hopes of freaking Sevrin out. If the ex-rider had hoped to poke fun at him, he'd have to try a lot harder than that!

"Nothing of it J'dol. Nothing of it. Even I found myself with a male greenrider on occasion during flights." He chuckled, hurting slightly at the past tense, but the sight of it was hidden fairly well in his eyes. Instead he twiddled his thumbs, looking out the window. "I should probably get out of this weyr shouldn't I? I don't deserve to take the room. After all, it's not like I have a dragon to fill it anymore." He looked longingly back at the cave, knowing that he had never once been able to step inside of it.
He was upset, he felt better, but he still hurt. He just hid it sharding well. Deciding that was enough of an upset on his part, Sevrin moved to poke fun at J'dol some more. "Besides, about that proposition J'dol, wouldn't she be upset with you?" He raised a challenging eye-brow. Rumors traveled fast in Weyrs, and everyone knew the Topazrider's reputation. They also by now knew that the two were an item of some sort. Sevrin couldn't see Alyara letting him sneak off with the older man any time soon, unless she was involved...which reminded him.
He laughed as if just remembering, his head shaking repetedly. "Wait, hold on rewind...did you say you didn't like threesomes? Well, that's a difference from what people say. Didn't expect that, though if you're anything like that Topaz of yours no wonder you don't like to share...unlike someone else I know." He hinted at it, playing the rider to see if he could get under his skin any more about his lover. It was an easy spot, and one he felt comfortable with. People joked around about that sort of thing all the time, he didn't want to say anything about the mutants or rebels though. He was even careful not to say anything about Alyara being one.
He did have one thing to do though, and he swallowed hard before forcing it out. "I...I'm sorry...about what I did. You were only just a weyrling back then. I was different.....so very different...it's hard to even explain. I just wanted revenge...I wanted to make things right, to get her back...nothing can bring her back." He looked away, not wanting to admit that he had just said those things.

J'dol rolled his eyes and smirked. "Oooh aren't you hardcore; ending up with men in a flight. Puh-lease, that has nothing on a night with me." Really, what was it with people putting so much value on the outcomes of flights. They all needed to let loose and have a little fun. He sighed as he briefly fell onto a topic that, no doubt, was depressing. "It's your room. If you deserved it before you deserve it now. We're not so heartless as to kick you out just because some things have changed you know." He was serious, for once no tone of teasing or joking at all. Sure, he didn't like the man, but that didn't mean he wasn't going to treat him with the same respect he treated Inali. A dragonless man that was able to keep living... that was something amazing. He was glad Sevrin was willing to stay on the loose banter they had going.
"Oh I dunno... I think her ire might be worth it if I get to hear the famous Sevrin moaning my name." Of course, he was well aware that Sevrin would never go for it anyways, so he didn't feel any true worry about pissing off his lady. He grinned at the obvious confusion coming from Sevrin. "Well now old man, I didn't think you were the type for tabletop gossip. Or did you secretly hope to end up in one with me and Ara?" He winked, though there was a slight grimace at the rumors about Ara. Sharing his lover with someone else during the deed... it was something he couldn't do. "Is it that shocking that I don't like it?"
He blinked in surprise as Sevrin actually... apologized for being such a pain in the ass. J'dol couldn't believe it. He had expected this visit to involve lots of yelling, drinking, perhaps even some outright fighting if things got bad. But.. apologies?
"I won't accept any apologies without a kiss." He replied with a wink, completely confused as how he should procede. Never... never had he expected the man to do this... was it a ploy? Or was he sincere... it sure sounded sincere. "I didn't exactly make your life easy either. I'm sorry too." J'dol finally forced out, looking away from him. It felt weird.

He looked at J'dol, staring out right. Had the Topazrider just apologized back...there wasn't any way, but it certainly seemed like he had. The dragonless man blinked once, twice, three times and still couldn't get his mind over that little hump. It had to be a joke, or a reflex, or something. It wasn't though, Sevrin could tell that it wasn't. Shaking his head and rubbing at his scalp the older man snorted and looked around the room awkwardly.
"Well...I think kissing you to make up would be less awkward that outright apologizing. ...don't get any ideas by the way J'dol. I don't want to end up with you, that pretty little Greenrider of yours maybe, but not you." He smirked, rocking in his chair slightly and shaking his head to clear it. Well then, he had never seen that turn of events before. Kicking back his head he took another swig of wine, gulping it down till it was only half-full in one breath.
"Alright, so what do you wanna do now Weyrwoman? Doubt those girls will let us part so soon or easily." He wobbled on his feet as he walked around the room, a movement entirely not because of the drink. In fact for having drunk half the container he was very lucid, but then again Sevrin had always held his drink well. "What fun is it not giving each other a hard time though to be honest? Why couldn't they just leave us to tear each other to shreds over who could piss off the other more?"

J'dol rolled his eyes as Sevrin stared at him like he had grown a second head. Was it really that shocking? "Well if it'll be less awkward how come you aren't over here kissing me?" He joked, feeling just as awkward. Maybe he shouldn't have apologized... it had just felt like the right thing to do... what with him being all sentimental and stuff.
"You'd have better luck ending up with me sweetheart" He retorted, a hint of possessiveness in his eyes. As if he'd allow Sevrin to even hit on Ara! The man was still his enemy, even if they seemed to be almost getting along (a thought which was actually freaking the topazrider out). He chuckled, watching the man gulp down the wine.
"Shards man, it's a good thing I brought more skins!" He threw a leg over the arm of his chair, relaxing outright as he watched Sevrin stumble about the room. "Though it doesn't look like you can hold your wine. Weakling." He took a good sized gulp of his own, though there was still more than half of his skin remaining. "Believe me Sevvy, if I could have things my way you'd be kneeling before me offering yourself up as my eternal servant."
He took another swig, contemplating what could be done. No doubt Ara expected him to stay with this pain in the butt for a few hours, so even if he wanted to he couldn't leave. "I've got cards. Up for a little poker? We could gamble the night away."

"Oh, I can. You'd have trouble walking too though if you've been in bed for days on end." He frowned slightly, sitting on the edge of the bed and letting his hands drop between his legs as she bent over and took a deep breath. It wasn't that he was out of breath, just tired. "Sure thing, sounds perfect to me Weyrwoman." The man grabbed for his purse of marks under his mattress, opening it up and putting a few on the floor before going there himself.
"So, how did you end up with her? If she's so hard to get?" He flickered curious eyes up to J'dol, partially teasing and partially just wanting to make conversation. The Topazrider was proving to be a sharding good distraction at least, so maybe the girls had done the right thing after all. "I mean, don't get me wrong, but she doesn't seem the type to like guys that sleep with almost everyone they see." He snorted, pulling his hair from its loose pony-tail to flow around his shoulders instead and rubbed the stubble on his chin.

J’dol fought back the urge to make a joke at the older man’s expense. “For someone who’s been in bed for days you look awfully beat.” He wasn’t concerned, the man was old enough to take care of himself, not to mention he was holding up exceptionally well for a man who just lost his dragon. “You know, you can ask for help. I might be willing to give it now and again.” He pulled out his cards and his own mark’s pouch, grabbing out a handful and joining him on the ground. He chuckled at the question as he dealt the cards.
“My dashing good looks and charming personality are irresistible.” He replied with a cocky grin, arranging his cards the way he liked and beginning the game in earnest. “Truth be told I harassed her for an entire gather to give me a kiss. When that failed… well, I suppose she must have hit her head awfully hard or something.” He shrugged. Sometimes he still wondered how he had ended up with her; other times he wondered why she stayed with him. “Not almost everyone Sevrin. Only the cute ones.”
He rolled his eyes, as if the older man should have known that. He couldn’t help but watch as Sev loosened his hair. “Besides old man, I’ve been behaving, more or less.” He couldn’t say he had been completely good… he still flirted, and he had had that interesting moment with Iirla… but he was doing a lot better than a Turn ago.
