Hanako had had her hands full lately. Her Days had become far busier lately having to take over for the head woman. She supposed the job wouldn't habmve been AS bad if she hadn't doing the boss and assistant's work the whole time but luckily she was finished for the day. She'd had loads of paperwork, had to deal as a mediator between the cook and the butcher (not a pleasant position to be in either way) , and had to deal with a squabble between two of the maids that had just started.
It had been a full day and she'd not really been of much use to Iirla all day even though that was one of the main functions of being the head woman. Then again she wasn't necessarily sure what to do if the weyrwoman didn't ask anything of her. She sighed. She needed to get out and relaxe.
The beach! She hadn't gone out to the beach in a while! With a smile she pulled on a plain white strap dress and chose a similar style white jacket to go over it. Okaying her appearance in the mirror, she made her way from the weyr. The late afternoon sun was nice. It was warmer than she'd thought it would be at this time of year oddly enough.

"Oh come now my dear princess. A day at the beach is just what you need." J'dol commented lazily as Kayath swerved towards the Weyr. The had spent the morning stretching and flying over Trelis territory. Now they were on the way back and J'dol was rather adamant about avoiding work for a little bit longer. So it was that he was engaged in a rather heated battle with his topaz.
"Maybe there'll be someone there to fawn over you. You'll never know if you don't go." THAT seemed to finally get some agreement from the dragoness. Banking sharply, Kayath reached the beach in no time at all and was soon backwinging to land on the soft sands and sending a spray of sand everywhere. Dropping down, it was then he noticed there were others at the beach.
"Oh, sorry about that! Hope she didn't get any sand on you," He called to a nearby young woman.

The sand storm was unexpected. The only warning being a shadow growing larger before it hit. She was able to cover her face in time and she spent a moment or two dusting herself off after it settled. Only one explanation came to her mind. Dragon wing created wind. A look up at a man's voice gave her Confirmation.
It was the junior weyr leader and his topaz kayath. She smiled and stood, raising a hand in greeting.
" don't worry Bout it sir. A little sand never hurt anyone much."

J'dol returned the smile as Kayath wandered into the water. The girl looked okay, if perhaps a little sandy, so he figured it wasn't too bad. Walking over he gave a little wave of his own. He let his eyes glance over her as he drew nearer. She was pretty cute, he decided with a grin.
"So what brings a lovely young lady like yourself out to the beach?"

She'd been told of the Jr. Weyrlord's penchant for flirtation of course, but this would be her first time meeting him. The headwoman was the one who'd had direct contact with himself and iirla of course. She decided in that moment her first impression would be a good one! She was determined.
He was certainly handsome enough to have gained his rather colorful reputation and she smiled in response to his compliment. "Rest and relaxation?". She thought about it a moment. It was more like recouperation after the week she'd had. It kind of felt like she was hiding out here now that she stepped back and looked at it objectively. She gave a half smile, a rueful light coming to her eyes. "Possibly hiding? Contemplating running away? Take your pick."

J'dol smiled, completely understanding the need for a good break. As it was, he had been trying to make the entire day a break from work and now that kayath was lounging in the water, it was a real possibility.
"Oh running away sounds fun. Far off lands, daring adventure, the whole shebang." He dropped down onto the sand, laying back and stretching contently. "So what might someone like you be running away from?"

Hanako smiled as she watched the topaz lounging in the surf. Well at least she seemed happy. J'dol's comment made her think as she turned her gaze back to his handsome face. Did she want adventure? Truly far off lands? A soft half smile accompanied her words.
"Actually I think I would settle for a bit of silence and calmness for a little while.". And that was true. She always seemed to have some form of stress or worry. She couldn't imagine what it would be like to not have that.
She tucked her skirt under her, taking a seat on the sands again.
"responsibility? It wouldn't be as bad if I wasn't doing both my job AND the headwoman's. Right now they're still looking for a replacement, but until they appoint a new one it falls to me."

J’dol smiled, completely understanding the need for silence and a break from work. “I suppose you’d prefer if I shut my trap and let you be huh?” He replied. He knew he could get on nerves from time to time, which he thought was just silly – who wouldn’t want his company!? But, if she did want to be alone he’d simply join Kayath in the water and give space.
“Ah… So your stress is all my fault!” J’dol groaned, flopping onto his back with a dramatic sigh. He was supposed to be looking for the headwoman’s replacement, but he simply didn’t know the workers well enough to know who to put trust in. Well... he ‘knew’ many of the caverns workers, but not in the right way for this. He grinned up at her, “You wouldn’t happen to know a suitable replacement do you? I’m afraid I didn’t know the headwoman or her subordinates… they tended to work alongside Iirla if I recall…”

Hanako smiled and shook her head. "it's fine really, I enjoy the company.". Which was true. If she didn't have company her thoughts always turned back to what she'd left back home. That was something she didn't like doing, but she never couple help it. No, having company was always better.
He was asking who she thought would be a good headwoman? She thought about that for a minute or two. They had to be hard workers... Competent at their current jobs and know a little bit at least about the others...
"There are a few ladies that I can think of who might do... One of them is old though so the stress might be a little much for her..."
She thought of the other two. One was a bigger gossip than the other one and that was saying something. Definitely not good for a weyrwoman like Iirla. That just wouldn't do. That would leave Iirla more stressed out and v'lkan even more paranoid when it came to his mate if rumours got started. No neither of them would be a good choice.
"on second thought... I can't seem to think of anyone in particular who'd be great for it. But if you pick them I'll make sure they know how to do their job."

"I don't think I could handle another headwoman keeling over... the first has been enough of a shock," He replied, scratching at the back of his head sheepishly. "You wouldn't be willing to send the others up to my office tomorrow, would you? I've been doing a horrible job of finding replacements on my own. At this point he was getting desperate, anyone who wasn't too old and kenw what they were doing was good in his books now. As she then shot down the ideas though, his slouched his shoulders with a sigh.
"You make it sound like you'd be headwoman material. I wouldn't be so lucky as to find our future headwoman right here would I?" He teased, though he really was hopeful. His only other option was to begin asking around the caverns and hoping for the best but... well he didn't trust that idea entirely either. "I'd hoped she had named a successor."
