J'dol whistled a rather merry tune as he made his way down the corridor. Sure, there had been little time for anything but work today, but Kayath had finally risen and now she was acting much nicer than she had been as of late. Not to mention, the topazrider had gotten to test drive that cute brownrider R'hard. All in all, he felt pretty darn good.
So it was the he was whistling, a skip to his step as he headed for thr Weyrwoman's chambers. He knew it was likely she already knew the outcome of the flight, but he knew it was his responsibility to announce it anyways. Besides, he hadn't seen the goldrider since their little disagreement at his kissing booth; now was as good a time as any to have a good chat about his 'outrageous' behaviour.
"Iirla? Iiiiirla!" He called, knocking lazily on the entrance to her weyr. He could have sworn Kayath said Iirla would be in here right now. "Oy, It's J'dol! I've got important news for you!"
Kayath backwinged on a nearby ledge, not interested at all in even trying to share the Weyrqueen's ledge. Stretching out contently, she gave a short rumble of greeting to her golden sister.

Izanycorth was moody to say the least and though she tried to be polite to Kayath, she was not the most... friendly or complimentary that she could be. Izanycorth sniffed slightly, lifting her head to look towards where her rider was currently resting. Iirla sighed. J'dol certainly was cheerful. She wasn't a morning person and she was dealing with her own problems. She was not getting up for him. He could come in anyways.
"Come in." Her voice was definately tired and a bit annoyed. She already knew who had won the flight. Though... he did have to tell her she supposed. She didn't even bother trying to get a jab in. Instead... she just continued to lay on her side, her eyes closed. She was covered by the blanket... but probably a bit under dressed for meeting with the Jr. Weyrlord. She was wearing very little, really... Unfortunately... She just pulled the blankets up a little bit higher to make sure she was well covered as he entered. "It's too early for this, J'dol! And you're too cheery!"
She sighed as Ama sat up with a slight hiss for him, irritated that he dare interrupt her beauty sleep. Trivol chittered then and Praesent looked up from where he was curled up on Iirla's head, though he did not have a violent reaction.

J'dol strolled into the room the moment he heard Iirla's voice, the bounce in his step just as obvious as the pleased tone to his voice. "Early my dear Weyrwoman? Hardly! After a night like that it's just not POSSIBLE to spend the day sleeping." He stretched his bare arms out, shirtless as always, in a happy stretch before finally finding Iirla in the bed. Well Faranth, she was just asking to be bothered wasn't she?
With a cheeky grin, J'dol launched himself onto the bed, stretchign out as if he owned the place. It was all a ruse to annoy her really. She didn't seem to be in the best of moods and, well J'dol wasn't all that great at comforting, so he thought maybe giving her an excuse to vent would work just as well. "Well well well beautiful! What a comfy bed you have. We should have a 'sleepover' sometime, if you know what I mean."
Spazz was quick to join the room, adding his own happy, energetic personality to the otherwise gloomy room. He chirped at all the other flits before flinging himself at Iirla's face in his signature 'SpazzHug'.

Iirla frowned. "Get off!" She would have slapped him... but the next thing she knew, Spazz was on her face. And Praesent was none to happy about it. The large blue chittered at the blue who had disturbed His. Iirla sighed and sat up, nearly dropping the blanket, but pulled it back up to cover her breasts. "Tell me why I shouldn't slap your right now...?" she asked him irritably. "J'dol, how could I not know what you mean! It's you after all! But what would Ara think, hmm...? What does she think about you sleeping with the brownrider? Hrmm? I doubt you've bothered to find out."
She wrapped her arms around herself, frowning, a frustrated, sad expression crossing her face for a moment before becoming frustrated again. "You think that even having an open relationship will mean she is just okay with it?" She snorted, indignant. Okay... so she was making her problem into his problem now. Well.. interpreting it that way. She sighed and laid back down, rolling over to face away from him.
She was so annoyed with him at this. "I'm going to kill you if I get more visitors and you're in my bed when they arrive. I've already got enough troubles because of one wayward night and I don't need Vl'kan more upset and wanting to kill anyone else." She sighed softly. Vl'kan.... And then there was S'bel. Faranth.

J'dol chuckled with glee at the unfolding events. Really, she was too easy to bother and way too much fun. "Well aren't you just the most charming lady in the morning," he teased, whistling for Spazz to back off and return to his shoulder, which the blue did for all of a few seconds before latching onto a nearby table and beginning his investigation of the room. "And how could you slap a face as handsome as mine?" J'dol could tell the woman wasn't in the mood to entertain him, so he did shuffle to the edge of the bed, positioning himself in a way that, to some at least, would look like he truly was just visiting. His laughter deepened as she tried to guilt trip him.
"Open relationship or not, a flight is a flight. If she's got a problem with answering nature's call then she's not the girl for me." He said with a shrug, his mood still light despite Iirla's efforts to break him down. He didn't doubt that she'd probably be a little upset, just as he was always jealous when Avirith rose. However, having been born and raised in a Weyr, J'dol was no stranger to how flightlust worked. You were your dragon, that was that. "Besides, despite what you may think, Ara and I are both adults... we can work things out if problems arise." He stopped a moment to think. "Huh... you know I haven't seen her yet this morning!" He quirked an eyebrow at her final thoughts.
"Enough trou-? OH you didnt!" His expression was akin to a kid in a candy store. Was this.. was this a chance for gossip? Oh he was not letting this drop until he figured out what she meant by wayward night. "Who was it?

"Excuse me for feeling sick in the mornings," she said irritably. Closing her eyes with a sigh. Really she wasn't going to get anywhere at this rate, now was she? "That flit of yours is something else." She frowned. "It's easy. You just... raise your hand, move it at an accelerated rate, palm flat, and slap whichever side of the face suits you at the time. Do you want me to demonstrate?" She gave him a cheeky grin, fully willing to do just that... especially if it would make him behave.
"There are some who would... some who wouldn't... And some who are more upset when their mate is not involved in the flight nor is one of the winners and is involved with one of the chasers anyways... rather drunk, affected by the flight, or otherwise." She looked at him seriously. "You best make sure she knows how much you love her. She's a good woman and I don't want to see her hurt again." Faranth... it would also be bad to have one of their Weyrlingmasters in a state like Alyara had fallen to some time ago. Yes. She had heard about that. But time seemed to rub away some of the details. "Perhaps she found someoen to spend her night with, hm?"
She was definitely taking this hard. But why wouldn't she? Vl'kan was upset and there was a man, a bronze rider she had hurt some time ago who still loved her... that she had told she still loved. And Faranth she didn't even know how to tell what was true anymore. How could she even believe herself?
She frowned at him. "Faranth, J'dol... If I catch word of this from anyone I will come and kill you... understood? Or... I'll have J'degar work you until you can't move for a good sevenday! At the least!" She wasn't going to tell him anything that he could spread as gossip. She knew he would... but she did want to talk to someone and J'dol seemed the easiest at the moment... At least he didn't seem like he was going to judge her for it....
She pulled the blanket a little bit higher, covering part of her face. "It was S'bel..." she said softly, almost too softly to be heard.

"Whichever side suits me huh..." J'dol pretended to think for a moment. "The right side I think, it's simply not as good as my left. If you slap me I get a kiss though. I hope you know that." He joked, making sure he was sitting far enough away that she would have to actually get up if she wanted to hit him. He sighed, leave it to Iirla to lecture him this early in the morning. He quirked an eyebrow. He didn't love Ara... at least, if he did he couldn't admit it to himself yet.
"Well it sounds like these folks need to let loose and enjoy themselves a bit more." He ignored her comment on Ara. He was fond of the greenriders, he had spurts of jealousy when she was with others and yet, he expected no more of her than he hoped she expected of him. They were in a Weyr, things happened. All J'dol needed was to know Ara would come back to him. "She could have... she was nearby when the flight started..." He got a far off look, "Whoever she picked was a lucky lucky man last night then." He added with a shrug. Ara was close enough that she was likely affected by flightlust. All he could hope for was that she ended up with someone of her choice. He shot his hands up at her threat.
"J'degar huh... a little older than I like but if he's THAT good then I suppose I'll just have to take that punishment." With a wink of his eye he made it very clear that her threat was meaningless to him. Sure, he wouldn't particularly enjoy being run to death, but he'd survive. What Iirla didn't know, was that J'dol wasn't really one to spread gossip, especially if it could really hurt someone. He knew Iirla had enough on her plate as it was, he wasn't going to go out of his way to make things harder for her. The name she whispered caused him to stop.
"Oh... him." He grimaced. That man, the one who had stolen Ara from him only to dump her on the curb when someone new came into the picture. "Well to each their own I suppose. He's attractive at least." It was clear J'dol thought very lowly of the bronzerider. Maerath chased you know. You could have ended up with him. J'dol shuddered at the thought. He would rather end up with S'vrin or Ar'rex before he willingly bedded S'bel.
"He was one of the chasers right? If you love Vl'kan, and he loves you, I don't see the issue of giving in to a night of flightlust."

"You're completely and totally strange. Usually people consider their right side their good side." She smirked slightly. "One kiss is a small price to pay to slap you..." She said, looking at him rather pointedly, though she made no move to slap him.
Iirla sighed. Of course he would think that... It just made sense. She just... didn't exactly agree and that in and of itself could be a bad thing. Of course... he was right. It was a Weyr. She jsut let him talk for a minute, thinking, her eyes far off. SHe barely heard him until he mentioned J'degar in a way she had not meant... She leaned forward and slapped him smartly. "Are you trying to be idiotic? You know that's not what I meant!" She glowered at him. "You make everything sound so lewd and horrible."
She had her arms crossed, which did a pretty poor job of concealing her at this point. She wasn't particularly well dressed and not overly well covered. When she noticed how much of her was showing, she quickly pulled the blanket back up again.
"Yes him..." She sighed. "You know the history... With everything..... Both for Ara and for me." She shook her head and covered her face with both hands. "Yes... he was one of the chasers. The issue isn't that... it's who he is... And Vl'kan saw us together... No doubt he wondered where I was last night when I didn't join him for bed... and if you make more comments... Anyways.... and yet again.... when I didn't join him for breakfast..." She sighed.

"I'm one of a kind, don't you know." He grinned at her, rather pleased to see she could at least crack a smirk. It was almost a smile... almost. He chuckled. "Why yes, I AM trying to be idiotic. How nice of you to notice." He flashed her a smile, which was quickly wiped from his face as she slapped him. "Oh come on. I don't make EVERYTHING lewd. Only things that sound it to begin with." He stuck out his tongue at her, well aware that he deserved to be slapped. "I mean really. If I was going to make EVERYTHING lewd then I would be commenting on your rather shapely bosom." He made sure his unslapped cheek was closer this time. The mood changed rather quickly as she spoke about S'bel, and J'dol couldn't help but sigh.
"Look Iirla. I'm not the best person to offer advice or consolation. You know that as well as I do." He reached over to put a hand on her shoulder, though he didn't doubt she'd knock it away. If she didn't, he might even try to give her a comforting hug. "I dislike S'bel. So I'm biased too, but let's face it. You either love one of them, or none of them."

"So that sounded lewd? to have a Weyrlingmaster make you run laps around the Weyrbowl." At his next comment she gasped. "J'dol!" She was bright red by this point, and covering herself more tightly than before. She looked up and away from him with a frown. "Hmph. You are certainly far too lewd for my liking." She smiled though slightly. It was just so J'dol. She didn't slap him, though, but instead settled for turning red and looking away from him.
He was serious again and she sighed. "I suppose you're right... sometimes I wonder if I'm just desperate to love someone and be loved in return... I think I love Vl'kan... But I don't think he'll forgive me... not this time..." she sighed and pulled her legs up against her chest. She didn't shove his hand away, but rather she looked a bit distant. "You know about my past... don't you J'dol... before I was searched...? It's not like I talk about it a lot... but.... I think I've told you a bit... or Dalrian might have... He and I... we're really on bad terms... Faranth... I've screwed up too many times... what good am I. I mean... I have hurt every man I have ever claimed to love... Severely.... S'bel was the first.... then D'rian... and... Vl'kan... twice no less...."

"Ah now see, it's all got to do with wording." J'dol explained cheekily. "All you said was that J'degar would work me until I couldn't move. You never specified HOW he could do that." He laughed as she blushed, trying to cover his mouth to muffle the noise but failing miserably. "I'm teasing Iirla! Here, do you want my shirt?" He almost felt bad for embarassing her like that. Almost.
He couldn't quite blame her for her reasoning. Though he'd never admit it out loud, J'dol had much the same reasonings for playing around. He sighed. He knew a little of Iirla's past; not enough to really make any judgements based on it. But really, why did the past matter. Life was all about the present!
"Come here silly," He spoke softly, moving to pull her gently into a hug. "I'm not going to do anything, it's just a hug I swear." He figured he'd at least let her know he wouldn't be 'lewd and horrible' for now. "There's nothing wrong with not knowing what you want in life Iirla. People make mistakes. You learn from them, grow from them, and emerge better than before. Trust me, if the man you love can't look past your faults, then he's not the one for you." Okay, so he was making an assumption, but J'dol hadn't yet truly experienced love... at least as far as he was aware. He did however, assume that what he believed was right.

She eyed him a bit warily. "No. I'm fine." She smiled slightly. "Though now I'm thinking you don't find me attractive at all," she pouted, teasing obviously. Probably going a bit too far for her.... but it could be fun... sometimes. She shook her head. "All in the wording, huh?" She thought for a moment, then trying to be sly... "Then what if I said the words you were touching me. I know you can make that lewd and obnoxious without even trying." It was a statement of fact.
"I was a slave, J'dol. Love and relationships didn't become a reality - something I could ever really have - until I came here... And I feel so... so... incompetent. I want love badly.... but when it comes to actually having it, I just screw up." She sighed and leaned against him as he moved to hug her. "You better not."
She sighed. "I suppose... I don't know... I really don't feel prepared to be a Weyrwoman either... Is there anything we can take control of for ourselves, J'dol?" She was entitled... she was a gold rider. She had a responsibility... but she wanted to make a few choices herself... and yet she failed at it. She sighed.. raising a hand to wipe away a stray tear.
She smiled softly. "You sound like a very smart guy, J'dol... at least right now. You can be serious, can't you...?" she teased him, laughing slightly, though it was a bit broken and choked. She gently wrapped her arms around him as well, feeling comfort in his embrace. In a way... he was like the annoying brother that you love but don't always want around....

"Oh quite the contrary Iirla." He rplied lazily. She was pretty, that was obvious enough, but J'dol had his reasons for not hitting on her - namely because he didn't want to take the chance of things becoming awkward between them... not when they had to be able to work together. Not to mention of course, she was taken... well.. sort of. He chuckled at her attempt at humor. "I have no idea what you're talking about. That sounds perfectly innocent to me." His eyes twinkled in amusemet. "And now you're the most powerful being in the Weyr. Your past doesn't matter Iirla. So what if you handle relationships like a 10-Turn old. I was that bad once." Well, he still was, but in a different way. He covered his ass by making sure the people he slept with understood there was nothing between them but a night of passion. Iirla was the opposite; she promised her love too easily. He wrapped his arms around her as she leant into him, doing his best to hide his amused smile at the position. Who knew Iirla would ever trust him enough to accept a hug. "We've got a tough position, I'll give you that." He replied with a shrug. He hated his lack of freedom as well, but his carefree image did allow him some freedom that Iirla was lacking. People expected J`dol to avoid work and screw around... so when he needed to, he abused that expectancy. `The work will lessen as things calm down no doubt. Once this Rebellion nonsense is behind us we`ll have an easier time delegating tasks, I think." And when the work was smaller the freedom would be larger. Perhaps not much, but things would change. He feigned a look of confusion. "Whatever are you implying Iirla? That I, J'dol, sexiest man alive and life of the party could have a..." He gasped incredulously then, "A serious side? Obviously you haven't woken fully yet." He oculdn't possibly allow his carefree image to be destroyed, so J'dol naturally fell back into his natural, flirty state with a playful wink. "You know.. if you're still asleep I might just have to take advantage of you."

"Hmm... then maybe you aren't as skilled as I always thought you were with such things..." She feigned disappointment. "I suppose I owe you a kiss for slapping you..." SHe looked at him seriously. "If you are still going to hold me to that, that is."
Iirla leaned into him with a sigh. "It's just another kind of slavery, J'dol..." She just sat there in his embrace, her expression far away. "As a slave... I still had power over certain things - I was the teacher and caretaker of the lord's children... but I was also... a slave with no free will to speak of. Taken advantage of, used... And in so many ways... being Werywoman... feels the same..." She shook her head slightly, biting her lip, the pain keeping her from giving into her tears. "I suppose... I just give away my love and tell people what they want to hear." She shook her head slightly and sighed.
"Once there are Weyrleaders... it will calm down a lot. We won't be the ones organizing the wings and the plans for all of that and having to referee the wingleaders." That sounded wonderful. Not having those responsibilities. "And as for calming down... let's hope it happens soon... We have an enemy raining down on our heads and riders are squabling about the color of a dragon's hide! By Faranth it's nonsense!" She sighed again and shook her head, still just sitting there, making no move to, well, move. "Don't pretend you don't know what I'm talking about, J'dol... And what if I haven't woken fully, hm? What will you do about it. I'm fairly certain I am fully woken and I'm fairly certain I have just witnessed your serious side. And yet you are good at acting as if you don't have a single care in the world." She smirked slightly. "I don't think you would take advantage of me.... after all... don't you have someone you made a promise to?"

J'dol simply rolled his eyes as she gave him a disappointed look. He just couldn't win with her could he? He grinned cheekily as she remember the deal. "Of course I'm holding you to it, beautiful" He leaned towards her, as if to steal the kiss, but stopped and pointed at his cheek. "But since you didn't hit me too hard I suppose I'll accept a kiss right here." After all, he didn't ALWAYS need to get his way completely. "Unless of course you want a real kiss, I wouldn't deny you that."
He shrugged, knowing exactly what she meant. He himself felt trapped so often now, where before he had been a free spirit. Even his brief attempts at freedom were squashed... like his kissing booth; the one Iirla had forced him to shut down. Party pooper. "Iirla, you have your responsibilities as Weyrwoman... but you ARE the boss you know. You can order any of us to bend to your will and theres not much we can do. Why not try delegating the work some more and taking some time for yourself?" J'dol didn't actually mind being in charge of the wings, though with everything else he had to do it was just a bit too much. "Well, we're getting there. The Weyrleaders will take a lot of the work off your shoulders." He couldn't really add an opinion about their enemies. He agreed it was silly but... he obviously had a biased opinion.
"I think you're dreaming, Iirla!" He shrugged, looking away from her despite the light grin. He had been found out... "Don't go gossiping about me now. How would I survive if the Weyr thought I could actually be competent!? It would destroy my image!" He ran a hand through his hair and sighed. "I promised to try. I've been trying. It's not my fault that our Weyrwoman decided to let me into her room when she was so... underdressed." He winked.
