Shenzi smiled as she watched her four turn old ruby wher running around happily. She knew she shouldn’t be this far from Rindell Village, but Shesk needed time to get away and just be a happy wher. Shesk's play now? The little wher had taken quite the liking to dancing with Shenzi, even though Shenzi did most of the dancing and Shesk just sort of ran around her holding the different colored ribbons Shenzi had given her. Alright Shesk, I’m coming. The ex-master harper walked over to where her ruby wher waited for her, and started to dance, slowly at first, but eventually she started to pick up the pace. Shesk crooned and trilled as she picked up two of the colored ribbons and started to run in circles around Shenzi. The little wher added her own sort of elegance to the dance that the two of them created.
Shenzi wished that she could take her wher and teach others how to dance as they did, but she wasn’t sure there would be many people that wanted to dance with the strange creatures. All she needed was one person to accept the idea that even whers could be elegant, and talented in ways no one has ever thought of before. They just needed a handler with an open mind is all. Shesk thirsty, Shesk drink. The ruby wher was panting heavily as she walked over to the river and took a long drink of the cool water. Shenzi smiled and sat down in the circle of trampled grass the two of them had created, and wondered what would happen to the two of them next. She worried almost constantly about her wher, even though it seemed like Shesk was the one taking care of her instead of the other way around.
