Something wasn't quite right. Yet, it seemed so familiar. The ache in her body, the way she fit so carefully and perfectly against anothers'. How she knew exactly that there was another body she wasn't quite sure, but Inali just did. Perhaps it was from becoming more accustomed to sharding her furs, though that was what was so off. It didn't smell like her weyr, and it didn't feel like her bed. It didn't register as T'rian's either, and she was sure by the feeling of the other's body that that was who she had spent the night with.
Unwilling to open her eyes though, Inali snuggled in closer enjoying the little bit of liquid sunshine that was happiness. Nothing bad had happened, it had just been...oh what had it been that had brought them like this? It wasn't often that they had shared more than just the comfort of sleeping next to one another lately. Yet, that was what she was feeling in the soreness of her limbs and she'd be a child if she didn't recognize the feel of skin against her fingertips.
Making a little happy sound behind closed lips, Inali finally peeked beneath her eyelashes, taking in the sleeping, or feigning sleep, form of her Weyrmate. "So, how did we end up here?" She let her finger slide around the contours of his bicep to his collar bone, kissing the shoulder she was laying against. "It's been a while, hasn't it?" Laying her head back on his chest she curled her legs up, still trying to remember what had happened. There had been a Gather...still was a Gather...a rising? Not a Greens. A Greens was too light to have sent her into T'rian's arms like that. So a Queen...or Sub-Queen!
"Kayath?"

T’rian slowly blinked his eyes open when he heard a noise coming from beside him. He wasn’t in the weyr he shared with Inali and their twins, so where was he? He listened quiet to his mate’s words and smiled as he turned his head to look at her. I’m not sure how we ended up here, and yes, it has been too long my love. He bent and kissed her on the top of her head as she laid her head on his chest. It felt nice to be laying there with her beside him, just as they had so long ago before their worlds had been turned upside down. You both are log heads. Kayath has risen, and you had me fly you both well away. There was something in the bronzes voice that made the man laugh. It was as if Stallorth were mad that they had woken him from his sleep.
I am sorry your majesty, you may go back to sleep now. He heard his dragon’s snort through their bond and laughed once again. He tilted his head and looked down at Inali and smiled at her. I think he’s mad at us. He stuck his tongue out at her playfully and wondered what her reaction would be. It felt like it had been an eternity since had teased and played with her like he was now, and relished the feeling of it. He gently ran his hand along her spine and lay there, unmoving and unthinking as he stared up at the ceiling above his head. He was glad they had been able to spend their time like this, and was in no hurry to go back to the Weyr. But one thought kept nagging at the back of his mind, why had he had Stallorth fly them away from the Weyr in the first place?

Inali hummed lightly as T'rian talked, and she let her eyes close despite herself. The memory of them sitting together on Stallorth's arm after Loraketh's first clutch hatched....Inali shook the thought free in the middle of it, unable to bring herself to picture the Gold she had lost. "Well, can you blame him? He hasn't chased after anyone lately." Poor guy's probably biting at the bit. Inali's thoughts played a tender smile across her lips as she sighed. In this moment nothing mattered more than just being there together. The fact that they had daughters, duties, or needs was unimportant. It was just them, not even her secret plans could come through.
She thought about telling him here and now, she honestly did, but she couldn't bring herself too. He'd understand one day, and for that Inali was glad to share any time they had left. Hugging her body to his more the young woman let her eyes flicker open once more. "I wonder who won. It'll mean a new Junior Weyrleader. Do you have your favorites my dear? I'm sure you do, and I'm sure that you'll be reinstated as a Wingleader as well. They can't keep you off the position because of me for much longer, that excuse won't work."
She found herself drifting off between wakefulness and sleep, only opening her eyes again when a cold pop of air blew across her face. "Hello Ghost." The green chittered, landing on the headboard and craning her head. "The children are fine. They're in the creche." She murmured against T'rian's skin, lifting her head to look into his eyes. "Tell me a story, like you used to when things got hard. Just hold me and tell me one of your stories." She shivered at his touch, curling her toes under the blanket and settling herself in the nooks of his body.

T’rian sighed and shook his head at Inali’s words. No, but I am glad he didn’t chase Kayath, after all, he is her clutch father. To him the idea of Stallorth chasing Kayath was the equivalent of him pursuing one of his own children, and that was something he would never let happen, even though he would have to deal with a very grumpy dragon because of it. Oh well, all that mattered to him at that moment was the woman lying beside him. Whatever the future might hold for them, he wasn’t sure, but as long as he had Inali he knew he’d be the happiest man on Pern. Then there was that sneaky feeling in the back of his mind again, and he sighed. He had a feeling that something was gonna happen, and even though he didn’t know what that was exactly, that feeling told him he wouldn’t like it.
T’rian looked down at Inali as she spoke, and seriously tried to think about who he would want as the new Junior Weyrleader. There are just too many possible candidates for me to pick a favorite, but I am sure Kayath will pick someone well suited for the job. I’m not sure poor old Stallorth would be able to handle all those younglings. He couldn’t help but laugh at his dragon’s snort and angry growling. He knew he shouldn’t tease the poor male, but he couldn’t help it. He knew Stallorth would get him back later, one way or another so he didn’t have too much to worry about. Hello Ghost, Talian causing you a headache again? It had become one of his more regular greetings for his mate’s green firelizard, especially since he knew how much trouble the child has given the poor thing.

The firelizard snapped at Hers' weyrmate, her eyes whirling irratibly despite her normally calm and composed self. She was not in a good mood, hear her not! The flit snapped her tail against the post of the bed, her wings fluttering in a frustrated manner. "Calm down you. What did she do this time, I swear we need to talk to Talian again I think. At least Inoria doesn't go around bothering all the dragons." Inali's voice had grown impatient at the constant trills and chirps, not sweetest in the least but angered by whatever had happened to the green.
"I said calm down you!" Finally the Green snorted and snapped her jaws one final time, her eyes swirling a fast red, orange, and the slightest hint of something else...."Oh, well that explains things." Getting up she unlatched the window and opened it. "Sorry, no food, you'll have to do without." Chirping and hissing toward T'rian again the Green went off to rise, quite literally, into the sky with a flurry of Browns and Blues following her. "Well, that brings back memories doesn't it? Looks like everyone's flying right about now."
Laying back down, Inali let out her breath. She could maybe hint, it would be more mean once he found out for real, but she wouldn't feel so bad. "Tor...what if...what if I needed to get away for a bit?" She didn't meet his eyes for a long time, but when she did they were dead from emotion except for the slightest look of apology. Her hands meanwhile were wringing themselves together, worrying the skin until it started to become sweaty and red.

T’rian raised his eyes at Ghost when she snapped at him. The little green was normally quite calm and this was actually quite a surprise to him. He shook his eyes at Inali’s words. Yeah you do that. I’ve tried and I swear that girl just ignores me. He sighed softly and looked down at the love of his life. She was upset and had a feeling it wasn’t entirely because of the firelizard or their twins. He jumped a little and looked very surprised when Inali snapped at her firelizard. He watched, utterly confused, as Inali got up and then opened the window. A small look of understanding crossed his face when she spoke about food, though that didn’t stop him from flinching away from the little green when she hissed at him before she left. He shook his head and resigned to the fact that he would never understand females.
T’rian nodded his head at Inali’s words, and reached for her as she lay back down. Hm? Well, if you had to get away then I guess you have to get away. His voice was soft and full of love as he spoke. He wasn’t sure what was going on, but he wouldn’t stand in her way if she wanted to get away from the Weyr for a while. He thought it must be hard for her to be around so many familiar dragons after all that has happened after all. I’m sure me and the girls can take care of each other until you get back my love. He nuzzled his face into her hair and gently played with it with his hand. He had a feeling more was going on than what she was telling him, but he didn’t feel like it would be right to press her. So he kept all of his questions to himself.
