Calm down you irritating girl, you're giving me a sharding headache!
Eiko pushed at Nimarath mentally, wincing as the Obsidian dragonet pushed right back. It only made the weyrling shove, and receive a harsh whack and message. The whack though was physical, the dragonet snapping her tail against the girl's leg and hissing. I can't take it any more Nim. I hate it here, you hate it here, we both hate it here! Why did they have to stay? Because some higher ranking person told them to, that's why.
Gritting her teeth and pushing the blonde hair that crept into her eyes, the girl curled her knees up toward her chest and wrapped her arms around them. Please, just try and hang in there a bit longer. They wouldn't have sent us away if it weren't for a good reason. We're safe here. Nimarath nudged Hers, crawling into the girl's Weyr from the cavern it led out to.
The Main Camp wasn't like a normal Weyr in that there were outside caverns everywhere that could house riders and dragons, in fact most of the dragons had to stay on the ledges and in the nooks on the outer Mountains. However, there was one place where tunnels carved from some of those ledges into pockets inside the mountains and into larger caverns. Those had been claimed by the Knights and Noita though upon moving here, and thus the Lieutenants stayed as well. Even if Eiko often took refuge away from them all with the other weyrlings down in the make-shift tents and buildings.
We don't belong with our classmates though. We belong here, in charge. As much as I hate to admit it. You're not the only one who doesn't like the attention. You're unwanting of it, I'm unwilling. Nudging her rider, the dragonet curled around Eiko's back, fitting barely into the space that she had found in the tunnel between Nim's ledge and her own room. I know that Nim...I still hate it though. And I don't? For once the Obsidian was being kind to her, a rare thing, but it was happening nonetheless and Eiko hung onto it and the young Sub-Queen as best she could.
Someone is coming, I can hear their footsteps.

Noita had paced for a while. No matter how hard she tried to make herself stay calm and wait, she had to talk to the girl. She knew eiko didn't want the rank that came with being the only obsidian from a rebellion supported weyr, but what choice did they have? She finally came to the decision it had to be discussed.
Gritting her teeth and walking out she'd left her rooms in search of eiko. Luckily it seemed she was still in her rooms.
"Eiko. Are you awake? I need to speak with you."

Speak of the Thread and so it shall come. Get up girl, now.
Eiko wiped the few tears from her eyes, pulling herself together into a calmer outward appearance. Her face grew blank, barely a single emotion portraying within it, and her body stiffened as she pulled her hair into a pony tail crossing to one shoulder. Letting her lungs fill up slowly with air, she closed her eyes and let it out equal in measure. "I am awake Noita. You may enter." The Weyrling sat on the edge of her bed, her legs crossed, and the brown pants and tunic she wore seemed to fit the equally earthen shades of the stone walls and furs that covered her bed, a bed that was nicer than most rebels had and was rarely used if ever because of that.
"Were you in need of me? I didn't expect any lesson for another sevenday at least, and I have already become acquainted with both Aela and D'tri. They are....adequate in their positions. Both finding it safer here I suppose than at home. I do not blame them." Eiko pulled at the hem of one of her sleeves, tugging at a wayward string until it broke off from the slightly unravelled end. Her words had been course and blunt, without much inflection of heart to them. The girl wasn't a creature of passions but of reserve, at least to everyone but her Nimarath. She would never talk to Noita about her unease or her worries. The older woman was her superior, her mentor, her Leader. She was by no means a friend, Noita didn't have time to baby sit children.
Normally Sylencath is with her when we speak. Why not now? Or perhaps she is running late, though that hardly seems like her. Oh well, wake me up when Im needed and... I know, hope you're in the mood to comply. Good Eiko. You're learning. The dragonet sent an approving thought to Hers, keeping an eye on the tunnels that led to Hers room. Flopping onto her outer ledge however, Nimarath sniffed at a half-eaten carcass that she had killed a candle mark ago, not even. She had been starving then, yet as soon as she ate it had gone away. I think your stress is killing my appetite. Good, maybe then there will be enough for the rest of the dragons to eat.

Joining the girl in her rooms, she noted again, she'd retreated into her shell. How the hell was she supposed to help if the chit clammed up at the first sight or sound of her? She sat in one of the chairs observing how the bed looked barely touched. It wasn't a if their situation was permanent. It would be different soon. Soon they would be able to at least see their riders comfortable. Well as comfortable as possible.
"eiko. We have a problem here and I'm TRYING to find a way out of it. I know you don't want this rank but I don't have a choice right now. " Noita folded her hands in her lap trying to appear calm and not perturbed as she felt her dragoness tear into the first heard beast. At least she was enjoying herself.
"I'm glad you've taken the initiative to asses their ability, but tuntil we're sure beyond any doubt that we can trust them, this ranking has to stay in place. You understand right? What can I do to try to make it easier for you?". She was trying. She really was. Anything to decrease the girls moping about camp all day making people come to her to question whether she was really the best choice as lt.

Eiko's hand balled into a fist, twisting the covers as she gritted her teeth and set her jaw. "Problem? We have a problem?" She narrowed her eyes as she looked up at Noita, her body tensed even more than it had been before. "I think you're mistaken. You have a problem, I have a prison sentence." The venom behind Eiko's words surprised her, Nimarath as well who cried out in a high pitched screech. Enough Nimarath. The sound cut off, and Eiko was left looking toward silent blackness once more where her dragonet was curled.
"I am fine, it doesn't matter what I want. She's safe here, and that's all that matters. I will deal with my position as I see fit, if you thought I was unable to you would never have allowed me to take it despite the situation. Or at least I would have hoped so considering that would mean you were entirely too desperate and unprepared for this." At the last word she motioned around the room and to the rest of the camp beyond. "We each have our part to play, but tell me one thing Noita. Where is this production taking us? You have been silent far too long. What are you planning?"
"S'vrin and Ar'rex are not our biggest worries, in fact those two are more concerned with keeping a hold of Trelis. It is Fort and High Reaches, Telgar and others. Even Bay Weyr has ceased to aid us! We have played ourselves the villains, and why?!?" The weyrling shook from the pent up frustration, her eyes down cast as she plopped onto the bed once more from her standing position. She was suddenly exhausted, and the surge of anger and forwardness was entirely out of her character. "Why?" The one word was more true to her personality, timid and weak, and utterly defeated.
