Aela headed to the Hot Spring. She hadn't been at the Rebellion Camp for long, but she was settling in well. The young woman slid into the water and felt herself relaxing. Talath watched with interest. She hadn't been in the water, but she could feel the calmness from her lifemate.
"Oh Talath this feels good. You should try."
Talath just shook her head and remained silent. She only said things when there was something to say. At the moment there wasn't. Thoughts of Kaith filled her mind. She loved the Brown dearly and missed him, but right now she had to focus on her life here at the Rebellion Camp.
Aela slipped under the water and let the water soak her hair. I know you miss Kaith, but live in the now for the moment.
Talath let out a dragonlike laugh, Oh, hush. Kaith is just a friend.
Aela burst upwards and shook her hair out of her face, "Riiiiggggghhhhttttttt. It has nothing to do with the fact that Kaith was the father of your first Clutch? Admit it Tal. You like him. Don't deny it."
Thoughts of embarrassment flowed through into Aela. You're right. I do like him, but don't deny that you like R'hard.
Aela smirked. "Except I wasn't trying to deny it. My feelings for him have always been at the forefront. I'm not ashamed and you shouldn't be either."
What happens when I rise again? Kaith and R'hard won't be there to try to win us. It will be a male from here. Who do YOU propose it be?
If only Chahaturth were male. I know D'tri a bit. Those that are pure Rebellion don't trust us and since I know D'tri better than the others he would have been the only choice except for the fact that Chahaturth is female and not male.

Why should I stop? It's fun.
Eiko sighed, watching her dragonet as the Obsidian willed the nearby Huntyre to be able to notice her and then just as easily forget that she was ever there. Once again the Forest chirped unhappily as she found herself unable to look in the dragonet's direction, and then suddenly she could. Deciding to relieve the poor thing from the treatment, Eiko ran over to the bird, making it caw and flap off.
No fun.
Yeah, well you shouldn't be doing that so much....what if you get stuck that way? The dragonet snorted, curling up into her traditional form of a black and teal ball. Like that would happen. You daydream too much Eiko. Yawning wide, Nimarath let her finely dished head settle onto her front paws, her wings tucking in tight to her sides.
The weyrling stood there for a moment before walking away and down the little pathways that had been worn into the caves that the Rebellion used. The infirmary's scent wafted toward her from one hallway, the smell causing her to hurry her steps. She emerged back from the tunnels out on the side of the Hot Springs, and sinking to her feet, Eiko curled up on herself.
She hadn't cried in a while, she normally didn't allow herself to do such things. The emotions were unwanted, and yet entirely desired. It had just been hard though, the forever feeling of loneliness, or anxiety, or fearing the mistakes that had never happened. Her hair billowed around her like an off white veil, hiding her bloodshot eyes as tears crept over the edges and her shoulders quivered with tiny sobs.
Nimarath curled her claws into the stone, leaving little marks were the talons scored the rock. Her eyes were focused on Hers, yet her attention found the nearby Obsidian dragoness and her rider. You're not alone. Dropping with a flurry of wings, the green sized dragonet shielded her rider with the cyan veined sails, folding them around the girl in a semi-circle while winding her tail around the front of Eiko's body.

Aela was hurt. She had barely noticed the other rider and Dragon when the young woman appeared. She muttered angrily.
"Like I was going to hurt her."
Talath hissed. Just because me and mine are not from here doesn't mean you should act all defensive. Give her some credit and get to know her before you think she's going to harm Yours.
Aela turned to the other pair. "I am Aela. What's wrong?" Be quiet Tal. They won't listen and I would be surprised if they did. Let me handle this. Don't frighten them more than they already are.
Aela moved aside to get ready to go to the girl, but first she would have to get past the defensive Dragon in the way. "Look I may not be welcome here, but if there is anything bothering you please just tell me. I can try and help. I'm not going to harm you. Please let me help." Aela gave a soft smile for the Dragon and hoped she would allow Aela's help.

Are you so simple-minded as to think that was the cause for my actions? I would think a sister of my color would know better than to assume only the superficial.
"Nimarath, stop." Eiko's words were short but quiet, hidden partly by a sob that she tried to cut off by swallowing, which only ended in a cough. Wiping her eyes to clear them of the tears, she sniffed and looked up at the older rider. "I'm fine Aela. I am fine...I have to be." She forced herself not to go on and say anything more, lest it only cause more tears to fall. She was doing well to just keep her voice from cracking.
That was Eiko for you though, shy and uncertainty hidden by a mile-thick wall of steel reserve. "My name is Eiko of Obsidian Nimarath, we're from Bay Weyr." She put a hand on the dragonet's side, pushing firmly even though it didn't do much good. We should leave. I don't want to bother with people right now. The dragonet's tone was bitter, yet entirely honest. Eiko looked at her lifemate then at the other girl and her dragoness, and shook her head. "Go ahead then Nim. Leave."
The Obsidian snorted, amused that her rider now of all times was standing up to her. Fine, we will stay. Someone has to make sure you don't start blubbering again. Faranth that was embarrassing. You don't have to tell me that Nim, I know full well. I'm just saying what you often have trouble admitting. That's how we work, you ignore it and I'll point it out with as much bluntness as I see fit. You get to improve, and I get to push away boredom for a few candlemarks.
Sighing, the weyrling cradled her head in her hands. "Was your dragon ever difficult while growing up? I swear I think she enjoys my pain." Nimarath snorted again, rolling her swirling eyes and clicking the claws of one forepaw against the stone floor. Only because you make it fun for me. Eiko stared wide-eyed at her dragonet, amazed that she had chosen to speak aloud for once. "See?" The word came out before she could cut it off, and she blushed for her ignorance. She had just invited Aela to comment, to judge, and now she would have to take that judgement. Surely now she would be pinned for each of her mistakes, Eiko had known it would only be a matter of time.

Aela nodded, "I know what it's like going through that stage, but the bond you have with Nimarath will only get stronger. The two of you will have your differences, but that's always to be expected. While Talath was still young she got into everything. Not anything destructive, but to learn and grow." The young woman stroked her own Obsidian, "Talath is the world to me. Without her I don't know what I would do."
She turned to Eiko, "Nimarath is just like other young Dragons. She is intelligent and beautiful, but she will be there for you when others seem distant. Hold on to her. She's about the most precious thing you will ever have in your life. Don't waste it." Aela smiled to Eiko and slowly stepped forward, "And crying is nothing to be ashamed of. I admit I have cried a fair few times myself. Admitting something or crying just shows that you are a compassionate being. Do what you feel is right even if sometimes others think its wrong."
With a sigh Aela went on, "A choice that I knew was right, but hurt everyone was by joining the Rebellion. I thought of Talath as I came here, but I left behind many friends that I care about. It hurt, but I feel that being here was the right choice no matter how painful it was to make." Aela smiled, "So long as you have Nimarath your life will be full of wonders. I know it was for me when Talath came to me." She grinned up at her own Obsidian before turning back to Eiko and the other, young Obsidian.

Eiko just listened, her tears drying up as the other girl talked. It was comforting hearing those things, but the more she listened the more she was able to draw inward again instead of come out. It was just that normal for her to protect her feelings and thoughts. Always had been that way, even before her twin had died. "Thank you Aela. It was nice meeting you." She was ready to leave, except her leg had fallen asleep with a pins and needles feeling. When she looked up at Nimarath, the Obsidian snorted.
Your face is red, you're not going back yet. Let it clear first pet. Pet. It was name she seldom called Eiko. Mine, EikoMine, MyEiko, those were terms never used. Pet however was one that was heard rarely, only whenever it was desperately needed to show affection. Thank you. Stop right there, no getting all emotional on me, okay? I'm not going to coddle you just because you can't handle yourself, if I do that then how will you ever learn...although that also means my fun will eventually end. Oh well, all things do I suppose.
The dragonet pushed the girl upward, but kept her where she was, a protective foot held in front of her and her head next to the girl's body. If you came from that place to protect Talath, then why be upset? Your bonded is most important, we complete you. She of course knew little of friendship and nothing of love or mates, but naturally it came in a black and white sketch to Nimarath with little to no gray in between. Either one was here or there, they either were okay or not. Either Aela did this for her dragon, or she would go back eventually.
