Braymoth lifted his head, feeling wide awake despite having been asleep until mere moments ago. His tail was still wrapped around Lorendyth and he hissed down possessively at her dark form. The morning sun was just beginning to peak over the horizon, making the sky a deep blood red; Braymoth's favourite. Of course, a morning this beautiful needed some amusement as well. He looked into the weyr, where he could barely make out the two forms in bed. Oh yes, this would be a most amusing morning. Yufa, my little lamb, do wake up. I have a deliiightful little surprise for you. He could feel her mind stirring, and soon enough she began to shift around as she awoke.
The first thing Yufa noticed was the softness of a breast in her hand. A breast that most definately did not belong to her. Blinking open in confusion, she looked over to see a very naked Akilu sharing the bed she was in... which was definately not her bed either. Good morning rider Mine. It's so nice to feel you back to your normal self. You had me worried there... the way you let me take over your emotions. He teased, I never expected you would be so beastial... just look at how you ravished last night's mate. Confused beyond belief, Yufa took another look at Akilu, only to notice that the dragon hadn't been lieing... Akilu's neck was covered in love bites and hickeys.
"My word!" Yufa sat up suddenly, shock evident on her face. She had... with another woman! How improper! Akilu was her friend! And they... oh Faranth how could this happen? For an intelligent woman you are quite dim sometimes Mine. I caught Lorendyth, and you caught her rider. Its a difficult concept, I know.

The night prior, well it was all a hazy mess to Akilu, one that didn't need be remembered until after she was properly awake. Sighing into the pillow, she curled her body around the other rider tighter. The warmth was nice, pleasant and certainly not something to lose any time soon. However, that's because it was just nice to feel someone close again. She had lost her child, she had lost her sister, she had lost her best friend. The last thing Akilu wanted was to lose whoever shared her bed too.
Nothing good ever seemed to stay long in Akilu's life though. No sooner than she had finally deemed it safe to fully open her eyes and say morning to the world did she feel a jerk as last night's lover withdrew their hand and shied away. A muttered answer to her unspoken question was all she needed to know who had caught Lorendyth the night before. Who else would it have been though? Sighing, the greenrider opened her eyes, not quite a stranger to nights with her own sex, but it had been a long time since she had been with anyone.
It didn't mean she was entirely okay with it. After all, last night had been nothing short of wild. The memories were filing back into her head now, waiting their turn to release havoc on her physical and mental state as exhaustion set in and worry flopped down onto her head like a fat canine in front of a warm fire. "Morning." She took a few deep breathes, letting her body readjust to the sudden awareness of its many love induced hurts. Most would fade within a fortnight, however she could swear that there was one on her shoulder that would last much, much longer.
Not yours, mine. Lorendyth's voice was unusually soft and even sweet as she murmured the words quietly into Akilu's mind, careful not to upset the seemingly fragile girl. Curling her tail around Braymoth's she let her head nuzzle under his until he would be forced to either push it back to stay in place, or move it on top of her neck. Is it fair my Prince that you have left a visible mark for the remainder of my life while the ones I made on you will fade?

Yufa gulped nervously, pulling the blanket tighter around herself as Akilu stirred. A proper lady didn’t sleep with other women! A proper lady also wouldn’t run away from home and impress a dragon. Face it lamb, you aren’t a proper lady anymore. She was trying to calm her heart and think things through. Other than a little sore in various places, she didn’t feel bad… in fact she felt pretty good. Not to mention, Akilu didn’t seem to be upset in any way…
They had been told about this of course, about how flights would work and how the choices the dragon made were all powerful during those times. Greens were ridden mostly by girls too, she had known this would happen eventually. Perhaps she had just hoped that Braymoth wouldn’t want to ever give chase. The thought received an amused snort from the red dragon. Sighing, Yufa finally turned her wary gaze to Akilu.
“I… I am most sorry, Akilu.” Her voice was more timid that it had been in a long time, “This is all just… quite a lot to take in. You are not hurt, I hope?” If the lessons had been completely true, then anything Braymoth did could have transferred to the humans, and she didn’t doubt the garnet had been at least a little vicious. In fact she was almost positive based on the images that were slowly making their way back into her mind.
Braymoth rumbled in amusement as Lorendyth nuzzled into him and he allowed her to guide his head to where she wanted it, his tail still wrapped around her possessively. Do you regret letting me do it then, my chaotic lady? He twisted his neck until he was facing the wound he had inflicted. He tongue darted out, lapping at the injury hungrily. I think a scar is most becoming on you.

"Am I hurt?" She thought about that for a moment, letting her body flex and tense in different ways to test just how damaged it was. The final consensus after a few moments of no doubt awkward silence was that yes she was, but not so badly that she couldn't deal with it. "It's fine, I've had harder lovers believe it or not." Of course that was a while ago when she thought herself to be madly in love with someone. Akilu blushed at the thought, turning her head away from Yufa in her inability to face her friend.
"I....does this...change anything between us?" The greenweyrling couldn't really look the other girl in the eye, entirely unable to separate the image she would see now from the one from the night prior. No, there was no unwinding that image from her mind now, it was forever scorched there in the most delicious way possible. "I didn't hurt you either did I?" She glanced briefly at the garnetweyrling's arms and legs, stopping as she started to head up to Yufa's head and eyes. Akilu couldn't meet her eyes.
No, never regret. However, not all see them the same way you do. Oh well, I suppose if it keeps a reminder that we are tied in a manner of speaking then fine. We are forever in dept to each other, are we not Braymoth? You would help me in whatever I asked, wouldn't you?

Awkward silence was an understatement. Yufa glanced about nervously as Akilu tested herself for injury, wishing the silence would simply end and she could forget just how wrong this felt. "H... Harder lovers?" Did that mean she had been a hard lover? Was she rough on her own? Was it because of Braymoth? She couldn't stop herself from burying her face into the blankets in shame. She peeked out as Akilu asked a question she wasn't quite ready to answer, and much like Akilu, Yufa couldn't look at the other girl without bringing forth images of their night.
"I..." She didn't know what to say. She valued Akilu's friendship; the girl had helped her through some of the tougher times with Braymoth, but how was she supposed to face the greenrider without picturing her naked beneath her. The thought alone caused the garnetrider to blush deeply. "I'm sorry Akilu." She finally forced out, looking everywhere but at the girl beside her. "I've... never done this..." And I was never supposed to do this with another woman. "I don't know what to do..." She shifted uncomfortably, feeling a slight pain which she could only assume was because of the effort of their... activity. A proper lady wouldn't complain though! "No, I do believe I'm alright." She needed to be strong, that much was certain.
Braymoth chuckled darkly. If they do not understand my mark they will simply learn the hard way. His claws flexed at the very thought and his eyes whirled with greens and reds. In whatever you asked? Perhaps. He would consider it, surely, though whether or not he listened to orders from someone else, even Lorendyth, was hard to decide. The same could be asked of you, my Dark Lady.

She didn't know what to do? Well, Akilu supposed that made sense. Yufa was the type of girl her parents had always considered herself to be, that was until she met him. Not that that had done all that much good, but still. She could entirely understand Yufa's dilemma, and if it weren't for her own inability to bring herself to care more than she had already shown, Akilu might have tried to comfort her in some way. As it were, she felt too cold to do anything. The night had been nice, the pain even had lashed through the numbness she felt and allowed her to feel something. However, that was long gone by now and only the gentle soreness remained.
Sighing, the greenweyrling looked around, wondering how most of the pillows had ended up in tatters, strewn lazily across the floor of her room. "It seems we had fun with each other last night at least. Besides, you should be happy you weren't with a man Yufa, flights aren't kind to the inexperienced from what I heard." Tucking a strand of hair behind her ear only to realize the entire mass was in an unruly "morning after" look, Akilu let her hand drop to her hip. "It's alright to not know what to do either. I don't think anyone does their first time. That's the whole reason it's called that."
She laughed despite herself, not quite truly laughing, but something close to it. The weyrling found little amusing now, but this was as close to the feeling as she had gotten in a while. I feel more alive with her Loren...why is that? The green didn't have an answer for Hers, but she was more preoccupied to say so. Cuddling her tail against her side, the dragoness looked at the Garnet dragon beside her carefully. He had asked the same of her, a rightful request. Nodding her head, the dragoness eyed the weyr next to them carefully.
Mine must not know what we and Yours are doing.

If anything, Akilu’s words were the opposite of comforting, instead causing the garnet weyrling to blush deeper and bury her face further into the blanket. “I… I suppose that’s true,” Her voice sounded so much more timid than normal, not to mention muffled by the blanket. She glanced up as Akilu moved, and looked in time to see her try to tuck her hair behind her ear. It wasn’t the unruly mess of hair that drew her attention (thankfully. Yufa could be quite anal about her appearance), it was a dark spot on the other girls neck.
“Oh no! Akilu that looks so sore!” She sprang up, leaning over to inspect the bruise closely, running her finger over it feathery-light. “Do you have numbweed? We should really treat that. Oh Akilu I’m so sorry to have done such a thing.” It was only then she realized that in her sudden movement, her blanket shield had dropped down and she was awfully close to the girl who had taken her first.
“I shouldn’t have done that, I’m so sorry!” She should have asked permission to touch, instead of just running her fingers over it like that. What if Akilu was offended by the closeness? OH shards this whole flight experience was messing with her.
Braymoth rumbled in amusement. I don’t see why you won’t just tell her. Why pick such a weak partner? He supposed it was smart, in a way. Akilu was the last person many would suspect of being a rebellion loyalist, so he supposed it would work in Lorendyth’s favor. Even still, to keep something so important from her rider… Braymoth had shared his plan with Yufa, or rather he had demanded that she go along with it. Of course, Yufa’s brother had joined so it was no shock that she supported the rebels. I’ll keep your nasty little secret. As long as you don’t give me a reason to use it as blackmail. The words, though unsaid, seemed to hang in the air. For all that Lorendyth was his ally, he wouldn’t stop himself from using any advantages given to him.

Akilu laughed lightly at Yufa's anxiety and quick apologies, shaking her own head. The girl was too shy to even let herself show in front of the person that was sharing her furs. "It's fine. I have some in the cabinet over there." She got up, unwinding her legs and moving without pulling a blanket with her. After all, the only blanket was the one Yufa had and that would mean taking it from the Garnetrider. Taking out the mixture, Akilu sat back on the bed, grabbing the free end of the blanket and pulling it up to cover herself once more as if there had been no sight before hand.
Lorendyth on the other hand was losing her reserve, not gaining it. The green's eyes flashed red and orange, her mouth parting into a snarl. Mine is not weak. You're one to say such things Braymoth! Unwravelling herself from his dark body, the green stretched and winced as a few stiff muscles popped. Flicking open her wings she spread them wide, looking over her should back at her champion and friend. Coming? That was the only warning she gave before she took off and dove from her ledge.
Leveling out she hit one of the herdbeasts, taking it down and finally with no flight to stop her, let herself eat and tear at the throat regardless of how much meat she was taking in. It felt good to be in control of something, and that plus the quiet little voice in her mind helped to calm her nerves. Breathing in ragged breaths, the dragoness bowed her head and closed most of her eye-lids. She's broken lately Braymoth. She's not herself since Sakalas and our Blue Brother passed. I...I'm not even sure she is with the rebels. With you and the rest yes, but not the rebels. She does not approve of violence, she had lost too many. If she knew...
Lorendyth couldn't finish her thought.

Yufa's eyes followed Akilu as the greenrider rose, apparently not bothered in the least that she was completely naked. The garnetrider knew she shouldn't stare but she couldn't stop herself as the memories of last night hit her. "You're... very beautiful," Yufa commented under her breath, not quite sure if that sort of compliment was appropriate at the moment.
As Akilu recovered herself, Yufa reached out for the numbweed. "Do you mind?" She asked, grabbed a dollop of numbweed and reaching over to rub it gently into the bruise. "I truly am sorry... I know I'm not exactly the best person to wake up with..." She knew she was apologising too much, but this was all so overwhelming. It would take some time for it to become comfortable.
Braymoth's tail twitched as Lorendyth defended her rider, and he wordlessly followed her down to the pens. Unlike the green however, Braymoth made sure his beast was alive and kicking before taking painfully slow bites of its flanks, his dinner screaming in agony. Don't give me reason to tell her and I wont, Lorendyth. He replied lazily, Mine was broken for quite some time after the losses of the storm. She has gotten over it and grown from it. She is weak, but there is strength within her. Her time will come soon.

All of their times will come soon my Blood-red Prince. They will all see their strength, and they will bow down to our might. Threadfall is more important right now though, isn't it? It's an odd thing to say I know, but Mine has been talking much of it lately. Which enemy is worse; the ancient one that is constant, or the new one which seems to have already faded somewhat away with even a failed cause against it?
Her voice was not uncertain, but not entirely confident either. And there is much to protect here. Our Queen and Sub-Queen, their daughters. Not to mention the Little One. Her voice took on a gentle and loving tone more so than a reverent one as she spoke of the last. Such a tiny thing, and yet she was so important and rare. So few were so open to all of them, and it was needed in times like these. Certainly the Little One had kept her sane when Hers could not be turned to.
Back in the weyr, Akilu laughed softly. "You're not bad at all to wake up to Yufa. I'd much rather wake up to a friend than to someone I don't even know...especially if it were to someone that is twice my age. That has happened to a few of our classmates before you know? It's funny to think of however, but it is entirely possible. More so of course for me than you, but still possible nonetheless." She let the garnetrider put on the healing salve and shook off the need to pull away and keep to herself. That would only make matters worse, not better. "All in all, I wouldn't worry about it...about your family...or expectations. You are who you are, and if they won't except that, all of that, then it's not worth the pain. Trust me, I know."

There's nothing quite like the delicious pain of Threadscores. He mused, though it was the screams of other dragons being scored that made him shiver happily. Braymoth didn't particularly care which foe was being fought; one brought a sense of achievement for destroying their ancient foe, and the other brought the delicious coppery taste of another dragon's blood in his jaws. Either way, the screams of pain and the taste of blood, fire and fear in the air was all the garnet needed to be happy. It's a shame really, to think of how poorly this war has gone. I expected so much more. He stretched lazily, feeling content despite the pain of of the wounds Lorendyth had caused, or was it perhaps that those wounds were bringing the comfort? The queens are big girls, they can protect themselves if need be. In the end, this war is all about whic queen can scream louder, isn't it? We fighters and spies are simply pawns used to draw it all out and make it look like there's a war. Not that he was complaining of course... the very notion of battle was making him want to sink his teeth into something. His momentary bloodlust was cut short at the sudden (and rather disgusting) emotions of love and tenderness from the green, and Braymoth simply replied with confusion. His green had better not be going soft. He didn't want a weak ally. "I suppose that is true..." Yufa's voice trailed off, but her posture became the smallest bit more relaxed. Akilu had brought up a point she had never thought of before. This was the world of dragons, she realized. She could be as careful and distant as she wanted from men and women alike, but in the end, it would be her dragon that chose her mates - even if they were only for a night. The days of being a proper woman were all but gone... try as she might, the expectations she had been raised to follow would never again be in her reach. A tear fell, though why it fell Yufa could not say. Sorrow perhaps? Yet she was not sad to see her restrictions leave. Happiness? No, she had grown so accustomed to living up to those expectations that it almost felt as if a part of her were being torn away. Akilu's final words, words no doubt meant to comfort, made the tears fall. "I have no family left here..." Her words were almost a whisper. Her mother was dead, her father a monster... and her poor brother was fighting her fight in the Rebellion. "No family left... and yet I can't bring myself to abandon the ideals. If I don't strive to be a proper lady, what do I strive for?" She almost seemed to be talking more to herself than Akilu as she finished applying to salve and pulled away again. "How did you do it, Akilu?"
