Please, come, child, and let me tell you a story... a very important story that has changed our fate.... Listen and learn.
After AIVAS, Pern's dragon population dwindled, as was expected. However, it would seem that the dragons were not as unnecessary or unneeded as so many thought. A meteor collided with the Red Star, bringing it, once more, into orbit with Pern. Threadfall once more plagued the people. It became known as simply the New Fall. Those few dragonriders sent a seed back in time to plant a defense for their future. This seed consisted of two queens and Weyrlings. They established a Wer upon an island between the two continents. Soon, it was made official and the Weyr was called Trelis
It came to pass in time that the Senior Weyrwoman, Sahelli and her Gold Mivinth, Betweened without warning. She left behind her two gold riders. But it was not the older of the two dragons who would rise first, but the younger. She was younger and greener, but she was able to keep a steady hand on her beloved Weyr. When it came time for the new Senior Gold, Loraketh, to clutch a second time, it would come to pass that several new mutation colors were shelled. Amongst them were two sub-queens, clutching females that did not quite rank as high as gold. It was also not long after this that a band of Istan riders took it upon themselves to attack Trelis in hatred for the very idea of colors which did not conform to what they were used to - to the norms, should exist.
At the same time, another group rose up, headed by the Obsidian Rider Noita. Her dragoness was of the smaller of the sub queens'. They fought for the mutation colors against Ista... and there were times that Trelis was caught up in the battle as well. During this time, threadfall started for the second time since the New Fall and Inali's Loraketh was injured and betweened leaving the newly graduated Iirla and Izanycorth in charge.
The riders that had attacked Trelis before took their chance as Trelis became torn and easily frustrated over the new leadership. In addition to this was the growing trouble caused by the Rebellion that Noita headed and tensions spiked.
A true battle finally broke between the two factions over their beliefs of the mutation colors as the people of Pern were forced to choose a side. There was no longer any room for neutral ground. Terlis was split in half as both Istans and Rebel spies inhabited the Weyr and influenced her people. In the Summer of 202 the fighting finally started to break out, and it was not The Rebellion that won. Noita took the Rebellion to an Island named Rindell close to the Southern Continent to lick their wounds.
In the days that followed the Great Dragon Battle, things grew quiet...almost too quiet. In fact, it could hardly be said that the following ease was a good thing. However, that's how it was taken. In Trelis Weyr Topaz Kayath and Gold Izanycorth both rose in flight, the prior choosing a Gather to be her scene and the latter flew not long after. The Bronze Bane Coziryth of S'vrin was mauled during the WeyrQueen's flight though, sending his rider into a life without a bonded. The change that was found in the now named Sevrin however was one that was welcomed. It seemed that finally the man that was once known before his sister's death had finally appeared again.
During this time, the Rebellion became frustrated with its leadership and chose to rise up, assisted by Eiko and her Obsidian Nimarath as well as the former Weyrwoman of Trelis, Inali. This group was lead by Nymari. They succeeded in casting out Noita and a new leadership system was taken up. At the same time in Trelis, however, Iirla falls ill and she and Trelis' last gold leave their people... forever.
A New Dawn is rising....
After Iirla's death, the people of Trelis are left to pick up pieces of what was left of their home and their leadership. However, from another Weyr, Noraali and Rikula arrive at Trelis with their Golds as the new Weyrwomen. On the Rebel's island, the Rebellion has become Rindell Weyrhold and a new leadership is chosen.
Two turns have passed and things seem have settled down. Nimarath's daughter, Allieth at Rindell and Gold Majoriith at Trelis both near their first flights. Threadfall still rains down on Pern, and Rindell is finding it difficult to protect their home. They have very reluctantly requested aid from Trelis Weyr.-----------
