Well....they should have known this would happen sooner or later. Apparently sooner. Avirith rumbled in amusement as she nudged Ara's torso, the candidatemaster sighing. J'degar had, abruptly, noted that she needed to take on the latest weyrling group for a little while since the older was starting to do betweening preparations. That wasn't a bad thing, after all she loved teaching weyrlings and candidates just weren't weyrlings.
If you could deal with the troublesome trio, I think you can handle anything that Chahaturth's children can bring. Troublesome trio indeed! The greenrider laughed as she remembered one of her first classes that had brought Kayath, Talath and Emiath to her. They had been....interesting to say the least. Okay, call them, I have an idea. The weyrlings had already gone through some basic how to oil and feed you dragons. They had even been taught to catch their own wherrys and carve them, which had been an interesting lesson.
That had all been with J'degar though, and J'degar was anything but non-traditional and fun in his lessons. Everyone come to the weyrling grounds! And I mean EVERYONE! ALL WERYLINGS! Alyara smirked as she looked to the three different boxes she had by her feet, her eyes shifting to Inoria's form as the little girl held Jara and cooed to the child. "You didn't have to come and keep her with me 'Ria." The girl shook her head and rocked the baby gently back and forth. " 'Ria wanted to help."
She wanted to talk to the dragonets is more like it. Avirith's chortle received a giggle from the little girl, her eyes shining mischievously.

Plumberth had gotten up early and requested oiling. While Ko'o still resented the amethyst - she was no bronze, after all - he didn't want her to be any more of an embarrassment to him than necessary. He couldn't change her color, but he could at least make sure that her horrible purple hide gleamed like no other dragon's. With Plumberth prodding him on, checking herself over and over to ensure that he hadn't missed any spots and that she was perfect, it took them several candlemarks to finish. By the time they were both content with her appearance, Ko'o's arms were aching.
So when the call came that they had a lesson, it was all he could do not to groan. He was hungry and his muscles were burning - he didn't want to do anything but sit down to a big meal, right now. Not to mention, there was every chance that this would be a very messy lesson. Catching and killing a wherry had left him bloody and ruffled. If he had just spent two candlemarks cleaning and polishing his dragon and now had to do more physical work undoing all of his earlier physical work...
He considered staying home. He could pretend he was sick. We cannot do that, Ko'oMine. It is important for us to go to the lesson. Plumberth's words, so quiet they were nearly a whisper, slipped into Ko's mind and he heaved a massive sigh. The dragon was right, of course, much as it irked him.
By the time he arrived at the weyrling training grounds, his attitude had somewhat improved. It was important for him to be here, after all. Not for the learning - he could surely pick everything up easily enough on his own - but to support his no doubt helpless fellow weyrlings. They would need a guiding hand and J'degar could use a competant male there to help out.
When he arrived, though, he saw that it was not J'degar who would be teaching them. He frowned, walking over to Alyara. "Excuse me, miss, but has there been some kind of mistake? Surely you don't think you're going to be teaching us anything?" His tone wasn't mocking or harsh. Really, it was the opposite - he sounded concerned for the poor woman who had found herself lost and confused to the point where she would wind up on the training grounds planning to teach weyrlings.

TeslaMine, Green Avirith has called all the weyrlings to the Training Grounds for a lesson. What happened to Syphraelth's, I wonder? Syth's head tilted to one side as she pondered the question. Though Tesla was not particularly fond of the grumpy Weyrlingmaster, the pair of them had generally performed average if not better than the rest of their classmates, so had not really done anything so far to draw J'degar's ire. Tesla was perfectly content to keep it that way, though she didn't mind or worry about the change in teachers. Syth on the other hand, found the brown perfectly likable and his rider a responsible teacher at the least.
She just gave a shrug in response to the green's question. "I'm sure he's busy. I wonder what it is we're supposed to be doing today, though..." She doubted it involved betweening, if the primary Weyrlingmaster wasn't going to be there, and she was happy to put that lesson off for as long as she could.
Tesla and Syth arrived at the Training Grounds promptly on time, and the woman raised an eyebrow skeptically as she noted the presence of the younger class as well. What on Pern were they doing that involved Chahaturth's weyrlings as well? She heard her name being called by one of the younger weyrlings and Syth automatically landed beside the young ebony. It was her nephew B'ran who'd waved her over to him and his ebony Blasieth. "What are you doing here, Aunt Tesla?" B'ran asked. He sounded unsure about talking to her, and Tesla couldn't blame him. She'd only met the boy a handful of times before; it was odd to think they'd be sharing weyrling lessons now, even if they were in different classes usually.
Tesla gave a shrug as Syth happily greeted the younger ebony. "Apparently Avirith called for all the weyrlings. Beyond that, I'm as clueless as you."

The feminine voice inside of his mind, and Stripe’ made them start, turning far too quickly for his wound to take. A dizzy spell hit him making him clutch at the tent before he was able to finally get his bearings, a worried warm snout pressed up against his side as his bronze tried to help him.
No words were needed between the pair and checking to make sure the white bandages around his head were still clean he limped heavily over towards where the call had come from. He was not up for any sort of physical activity besides mostly sitting and watching but he had to show up. J’dol had told him that, the rules told him that and Stripe, the ever patient and paranoid protective presence in his mind, told him that.
He eyed the other two there when he finally limped up, panting and grey as he sat himself right there on the ground. Twining around him like a cat Stripe nuzzled him here and there, crooning his worry and wordlessly sending the affirmative that what his rider-to-be wanted to do was perfectly alright by him.
“Well oi there pretty purple Queen. Yer 'ave a look gorgeous today.” He spoke to the poor little gal following Ko’o around, giving her a gallant half bow from where het teetered on the edge of unconsciousness. There was no mocking in his voice, nor the look he cast her before he moved his gaze to J’dol’s mate-and his teacher.
“As do yer M'lady, right, and o'course yor the chuffin' spectacular as well even fough currently I'm so dizzy im seein' five of yer.” He tried to hold his head still to stop the blurring of greens that he was seeing but only when Stripe laid his chin under his own was he able to concentrate, and seeing the baby the widest grin split his face.
“Gunna kypnap yer one day, when yer folks want a nap.” He warned the child with delight. So cute!

Nauth instantly perked up as he heard the green's voice in his head, lesson!!! Oh boy!!! Instantly he just stood up and started to bound about. Mine Mine Mine another lesson!!! Lets go!!! Nauth wants to see everyone again!!! Lilia looked up from her weaving with just a little sigh, she had gotten used to her Ebony's rather hyperactive state but now it was in the middle of her weaving? Quickly she started to put it away while working on making sure it didn't unravel. Probably reason they were a tad later then some others now?
Oh well not like it mattered, quickly Nauth bounded over towards the group before suddenly speaking loudly to all that was there even the people. Hi!!!! Nauth is here now waiting to learn!! Hi all you people too!!!! Lilia brought up the rear and just gave a little sigh and tried to give a small apologetic smile before she reached over and gently patted on the Ebony's shoulder {Nauth, please try to behave and calm down a little bit alright?} Lilia the deaf tried to speak to her dragon with her mind. Nauth just pouted though and sat down much like a canine with a little sulk and looked at the ground.
J'see on the other hand, along with his gorgeous green amethyst Granselth, was busy oiling her hide for the second time that day. Meticulously he made sure to get every spot as Menek and Akesha watched from the sidelines. The two Huntyres still didn't really know what to do with this odd looking Dragon in their midst. Neither could they really help with oiling, since it made their feathers and claws far more dirty then either one liked. Mine, an elder green calls for us along with all the other Weyrlings. Shall we go and let them gaze upon such beauty? Granselth gave a little grin, maybe some of those males would be there. Now they were allowed to look upon her, while the females look upon her with such envy.
"In a moment Granselth, I must make certain we finish oiling every last spot of you so you may shine isn't that right?" J'see started to coo over Granselth, he didn't care she wasn't a Bronze, soon as she dazzled him he was all over the fact. She looked so different so unique, so radiant.. Exactly what suited such a dancer like he, he needed a female partner of course and who would be more perfect then Granselth. Quickly though he finished the oiling and cleaned up. Getting dressed in what he tried to make out as manly clothes.. Much to Granselth's snickers, they headed off to the group.

A regular morning for F'ro started long before the sun even rose. He had, as always over the past few weeks, woken early to meet Linda for some early morning sparring in the dark. He was certainly getting the hang of it now; he was to follow her movements based on sound now and was learning to incorporate the rest of his senses into the fight. He had initially thought Apperointh would be against the exercise, something about making sure he got enough sleep or something, but even the brown couldn't deny that F'ro was working hard, and that it was paying off. The spar not only improved his body, but also his mind, and Apperointh approved of it. Stepping out of the bath and quickly drying himself off, F'ro had been in the process of getting dressed when the call came. It was little surprise that they would have a lesson so early, and F'ro had managed to get a decent oiling in for his brown after the spar, but he wasn't entirely happy about the lesson. That a woman was left to fill in for his father while he was in Southern was just wrong. F'ro knew it must have been a decision made by the Weyrleaders rather than one made by his father; Faranth knew J'degar would have picked a man, given the choice. Well, he would have to show up, if only to make sure his fellow weyrlings weren't led astray by a woman. Gathering his things, F'ro took one last look over himself to make sure he was presentable before grabbing the belt pouch he had taken to wearing; the large flit egg that Linda had given him resting within. Upon arriving at the lesson, fully clothed and prepared for whatever idiocy was thrown their way, F'ro had to stop and stare in disbelief. She had brought children to the lesson too? Oh shards his father would flip if he knew how quickly the sanctity of a lesson dropped in his absence! His gaze shot to Ko'o as the amethystweyrling piped up and, with the faintest of smiles, F'ro decided he rather liked the man. A good head on his shoulders, clearly, if he was as upset with Alyara teaching them as F'ro was. "I have to agree with Ko'o. Surely someone else was supposed to teach us today." Apperointh groaned. {Apperointh and F'ro reporting, m'ladies. We look forward to working under your careful guidance.} --- {There is a lesson. All have been called, it seems. Shal we proceed?} Jalith, at nearly nine months old, was gettin rather large and C'yin wondered how much more growing the blue would do. He briefly missed the days where Jalith had been smaller than him, but the moment passed quickly as his attention was caught by the reflective objects before him. Ahh, picking his jewelry for the day was always difficult. {The blue one, if you please, rider of mine.} Decision made, and with a little more prompting from his blue, C'yin managed to get ready for the lesson and head out, making sure to grab the blue-dyed glass earring. They were a bit slow about getting to the lesson, as both dragon and rider tended to get distracted by the sky and its wonders, but eventually they made it and, smiling, C'yin added his own two cents about Ara being their teacher instead of J'degar. "How lucky we are to have such a pretty Lady in charge of us today." And, as always, C'yin's inability to focus on more than one thing led him to walk right into B'ran and trip over the other lad.

We're late M'ka!
Miyaka narrowed her eyes at the bronze, hitting him lightly on the shoulder as she straddled the young dragonet's neck. Just fly already....wait, Aedaluth is coming with Tk'ri. Snorting, the king rolled his eyes and turned his head to see the purple dragonet land next to him on the WeyrHeights. Hello......Aedaluth...... The dark hued dragonet snorted, her eyes appraising her clutchmate as Tk'ri waved to the healer. You're greeting is adequate enough I suppose. Come now, we are called....though I do not yet understand the ideology behind this combined lesson. Unless....that would be an interesting thing indeed if the Weyrlingmaster were to implement those sorts of techniques into our drills today.
Tennath snorted, growing bored of the amethyst's talk already. There was hardly time to worry about it though as the pair descended on the Bowl, landing among their fellow weyrlings. The bronze shifted his gaze to another arriving pair, these ones walking and from the younger class. The multi-colored green walked through the pairs, her rider only giving her fellow weyrlings glances from time to time. Tk'ri tilted his head as did his amethyst, both observing as the past goldrider stood in front of their teacher, the pair of them staring at one another with some unspoken conversation going between them.
It was tense, and slightly eerie to watch them. Had they not been friends before Inali had left? The green weyrling looked down at her daughter holding Alyara's child, hissing something to the girl who backed away a step and frowned. However, the child went away with the babe, not saying anything to anyone else but only looking at Ara who nodded. When Inoria returned Jarali was no longer with her, no doubt having been brought back to a creche worker or her father or maybe even the dragonless rider to look after. The sight of her younger twin however still displeased Inali, and the two talked in hushed tones, mother and daughter at odds until finally the almost five turn old shook her head and walked back over to Ara who simply looked sad.
Come Inali....we are not supposed to be with them....come with me. Rudith called for her rider who hesitated before responding, stepping away from the candidatemaster who was filling in and her child who was sitting in on the lesson. Finally electing to address the few questions that came her way, Ara straightened and turned to the boys. "Is your problem with the fact that I'm a woman and not a man, or that my bonded is a green? I was the Weyrlingmaster before J'degar. I taught most of the riders you all look up to...including my weyrmate strange as that may seem." She smirked at that thought, shaking it off before looking back at the gathering of weyrlings. Not all had come yet, but they would trickle in soon enough.
Talk for me please love.
Listen! This is Alyara and my name is Avirith. We are your teachers for the day, and we instruct whenever J'degar is not around to teach you. We also are available for any female riders, or any riders of female dragons that have questions or need someone to confide in. Now! Those of you that have arrived please separate into your two classes. We will be picking a team leader for both of them. Immortals, your leader is C'yin. Firewings, your leader is Ko'o. We will switch leaders later in this exercise, but for now you two are in charge. Essentially this is a game, the point is to have the most people in at the end. There are two boxes here with two kinds of paint filled bags. One is blue, the other is red. Blue Team is led by C'yin, Red Team is led by Ko'o currently. It is up to you two to choose riders to try and hit the other team with paint bags while the other riders must defend by beating them away. If you are hit, you're out. NO FLYING! The Team with the last member or members standing wins a dinner that must be cooked and served by the loosing Team. Think about the strengths of each rider and dragon pair and choose wisely. You have ten minutes to talk to your Team and discuss strategies. FIRST however, please explain why this exercise is important and what it can help with.

F'ro scoffed, watching the two women have a stare down which, frankly, was a waste of his time. There were things to learn practicing to be done, and work to deal with. Apperointh, though not at all bothered by who their teacher was, did share his rider's sentiment; this was a lesson, not a reunion. "Clearly it is because you are a time-wasting woman." F'ro gave in a droll voice, eyeing the weyrlingmaster and her dragon with annoyance. He laughed though, when she claimed to have taught riders that they looked up to. F'ro looked up to his father, and his father's Southern friends, that was it. "Well no wonder the Weyrlord is so useless." He rolled his eyes, knowing he shouldn't be insulting the higher ups, but hey, this woman clearly needed to learn her place! He was tempted to make a remark about getting on with the lesson when the voice of a dragon, Avirith it seemed, spoke up and started explaining the lesson. A game? Well... F'ro supposed playing could be used as a teaching method, though why had she put Ko'o in charge of their team? Sure, the guy seemed intelligent enough, but he rode an amethyst! If anyone should have been put in charge it was the injured idiot K'r, or F'ro himself, as they rode the highest ranking dragons of the clutch. Scowling a little, F'ro crossed his arms and waited.
C'yin... Really C'yin. You must needs pay attention during our lessons. Jalith's voice broke through whatever daydream the weyrling had been having and, blinking in surprise, C'yin glanced about to see a couple people staring at him. What had he missed? A leader is what you shall be today, C'yinMine. C'yin stared at his blue. Him? In charge? Sure, he had self-confidence and what not, but what fool would ever place him in charge? 'Master Avirith's has assigned you this noble position. We are to separate our classmates into offensive and defensive positions, it seems. C'yin only barely noticed that Jalith had become more talkative over their months together, if only because he needed to constantly speak with His to explain what was expected. "I don't... uh..." Looking up at his classmates, C'yin became horribly aware that he knew almost nothing about his classmates, depsite having lived and learned with them for almost nine months. Well.. he supposed he could guess maybe? What could possibly go wrong there? A better option exists, C'yin. The bluerider wracked his mind for an option, needing a nudge or two from his dragon to keep him on track and finally he grinned at his fellow classmates. "Who WANTS to play defense?"

Miyaka smiled as C'yin seemed to catch on quickly to their game, Tennath still annoyed that they had not been chosen as the first leaders of the group. "I'll do defense with some others. The larger dragons aren't as fast and have more space to help block and push back with. The smaller dragons like Aedaluth are better for offense. Not to mention she's probably the smartest dragonet here." The white haired healer smirked at the amethyst'srider who only shrugged his shoulders and gave a smile of his own. "She's right, she practically is an Obsidian in disguise with how she calculates everything. But...that up to you leader."

Ko'o wasn't too impressed with anyone present, despite F'ro's positive assessment of him. K'r did earn a particularly long look, though. On the one hand, he seemed the only one complimenting them (or at least Plumberth, but Ko'o was going to consider that compliment aimed at him). At the same time, though, he was the sharding person who'd stolen Ko's bronze. "Yes, well, I did work rather hard on her. I'm sure your dragon will look acceptable once you're less infirm; don't worry."
Plumberth gave her rider an uncertain look, then spoke ever so softly to K'r. Thank you, K'r. I do worry that there may be a few spots missed or dusty, but i am trying to be pretty right now. And doing a fairly good job, she thought and hoped.
Though that fragile confidence shattered as other amethysts began to arrive. She found herself looking back and forth between her hide and the hides of others. Were they a better color? Shinier? Oh Faranth, this was terrible. She crouched a little, aware that her front legs were too long, far too long, terrible. She was horrendous and awful and why couldn't she go home to hide right now please?
One of those amethysts had been Maysceth, arriving with Vitari. The woman didn't understand why they would be working with the infant dragons and their bondeds. Surely there was no possible activity they could do together. Unless the younger weyrlings were to be oiling the older dragons to teach them what they had to look forward to. Ha. That would be a good lesson. Not that May needed it - Vitari had been sure to have the amethyst gleaming.
Ko'o gave a soft snort at the woman who was "leading" them. The riders he looked up to? He couldn't name anyone off the top of his head. Surely no one she'd taught. If they'd been taught by her, after all, they must be completely inept.
His eyebrows rose as she put him in command. Okay, perhaps she was not entirely helpless. She could at least see who needed to be in charge. He listened to her explanation of the game, not following 100% but...75% was good enough, right? Pick players, don't get hit by paint.
Well that was simple enough. Women couldn't be counted on to be aggressive forwards, but he didn't think they would be proerly defensive, either. Best to let the men choose their roles and then let the women fill in the gaps. "K'r, F'ro, V'lin, B'ran, J'see. Where do you want to play?" Plumberth wasn't entirely sure this was the best way - they were meant to find the strengths, right? - but she was too busy fretting over her appearance as she compared it to the other amethysts'.

B'ran was practically tripped over by one of the older weyrlings, but he did little more than stare blankly at C'yin before they were separated into the separate classes, and there were other things to occupy B'ran's mind. A paint-dodging game, huh? He stole a glance at his fellow teammates, none of which he knew particularly well yet. Ko'o seemed happy to take the lead after Alyara assigned it to him, and B'ran just gave a shrug as he was asked what position he wanted to play. "Attacker, I guess..." He shot an obvious glance to his female classmates, wondering why Ko'o had deliberately left them out, but didn't say anything.
Tesla grimaced when the activity was explained to her, though Syth's tail twitched in excitement. It sounds like a fun game! the green said. Tesla just gave a shrug. She wasn't particularly fast or quick, and her aim wasn't the best, so she wasn't sure how much use she would be in this game. She didn't want to seem like a bad sport, though, so she finally spoke up. "I can play defense best, I guess."
