Appearance: At one point, Quin had a great deal of strength. Weyrlinghood had built him up. Now, though, that strength is gone and he is rail thin. He's tall, nearly six foot, and lanky. He has muscles in his arms, courtesy of weaving, but the rest of him lacks muscle tone. He's quite pale, thanks to spending so much of his time inside or in the shade. He has a somewhat haunted look, even nine turns after his dragon's death; perhaps it will never go away. His hair is black, making his pale skin look even paler. His eyes are blue and they appear vibrant in his white face, popping out at you.
Personality: Quinset hates women. What started as a specific gold hatred has generalized. He despises female dragons, and female humans aren't much better. This would be all well and good if he were gay - he could just ignore them or drive them away with his hatred. Much as he hates women, though, he loves them, too. They are beautiful and graceful and soft and he wants to hold and touch them. These conflicting emotions have two results. First of all, he is known to force his attraction for men. He likes men, sometimes, just...not as much as women, and that bothers him. So, he tries to make himself like men more, throwing himself at men he may not really like, because surely if he tries hard enough he'll want them, right? When he does find himself in a relationship with a woman, romantic or not, that relationship turns neglectful, if not outright abusive. He'll ignore her unless she makes every attempt to see him, and even then she may find herself belittled and taunted.
Quinset loves dragons, particularly bronzes. He'll happily stare at a dragon all afternoon, memorizing their curves and color and then going home to try to weave them into cloth, knowing he'll never capture them as he wishes to. Of course, he is always comparing dragons to Krillth, and it's not uncommon for him to give out advice on how a dragon "should" be. That is, how they should be if they want to be more like Krillth.
His hatred of golds, while still present and just as strong as the day Krillth died, has shifted. He no longer dreams (as much) about their violent deaths. He realizes that won't happen. Instead, his dreams have morphed into fanatical loyalty to the Rebellion. Someday, perhaps, sub-queens will be in every weyr, edging out queens and making them obsolete. Quin wants that to be a reality; he wants golds to dwindle into non-existence, and adores the fact that a topaz or obsidian cannot produce a gold. Quinset's only criticism of the Rebellion is that they are not as radical as he would like. They want acceptance for the new colors; he wants the new colors (at least the egg layers) to be viewed as superior.
Quinset is fairly quiet. He's not one to reach out and engage others in conversation. If you want to talk to him, you'll have to be the one doing the approaching, and don't be surprised if he seems off in his own world or distracted - he's probably just imagining a conversation with Krillth. He's somewhat cautious, afraid to get close to anyone in case they leave him too (either by choice, like his parents, or by dying, like Krillth). He's smart, though, and observant. If you need a friend to bounce ideas off of, or to go to for help or suggestions for a problem, Quinset may be just what you need.

Already interested in one another, the youths found themselves overwhelmed by the powerful feelings pouring off the gold and her entourage. Nine months later, the seventeen turn old had a baby. She and Ravel were thrilled, if somewhat uneducated, and doted on their baby. To their surprise, however, Setlet Impressed to a pretty golden queen when Quin was two; the creche's moderate involvement in the toddler's life became more important, and he was largely turned over to the headwoman's care. His parents still visited him (his father more than his mother) but the days of giggling as they tossed him in the air and falling asleep snuggled between them were over.
As Quinset grew older, his mother drifted further away, her queen demanding more of her attention and all of her love. His father still gave him attention, but Quin was no longer their child, their adventure. His interest waned until his was a token involvement; he would visit Quinset on his turnsday and some holidays, but was otherwise absent.

He basked in the attention, ignoring Krillth's irritation and insistence that they were not good enough for his rider. Every moment was spent with his beloved dragon, who he adored more with every day, and his parents gave him attention at least three times a week - more if he had the energy for it.

There was no way he was going to survive being smashed against the rocks at this speed, he knew, and it sounded like a painful way to go. With an agonized "I'm sorry, Mine, be strong", he disappeared between forever.
Quinset found himself dragonless at fourteen. For the three months from Krillth's death to their would-be graduation, he never left his room. Most days, he never even left his bed. He was a ghost, eating on auto-pilot, his dragon's last words echoing in his mind over and over and over, filling every thought, every day. His parents, so proud of him and present while he had a dragon, now disappeared from his life once more, unsure how to act after their first awkward attempts at comforting their son were met with a dead stare.

He turned all of his thoughts, dark, depressed, and violent, into cloth. Each piece of cloth, each tapestry, each carpet, was a piece of horrible violent art. Some was abstract, angry red and gold arching across a black sky. Others were very clear about what they were; golds having their throats torn out by bronzes, golds being eaten by Thread. He sold the abstract cloth, keeping the more violent pictures for himself, tucking them away in the bottom of a chest.
His weaving offered him catharsis and helped pull him through the nothingness which threatened to consume him. Two turns after Krillth's death, the teen was able to appear somewhat normal. He left his room, talked to people, even laughed, and then went home to turn thread into golds being violently slaughtered and consumed.
By the time he heard of the rebellion, Quinset was...recoveredish. He could look at a gold without fantasizing about her individual death, though he still despised the color as a whole. The thought of this new order, however, and of a world without golds (because that was what this was really all about, wasn't it? finding replacement golds?) was tempting.
As soon as he could find a way there, Quinset packed up his belongings and moved to Rindell. He wanted to be around dragons - some masochistic part of him demanded he not leave reminders of his Krillth - but at Rindell he could avoid being around golds, at least.

Personality: Kille is very protective of her human. He needs her love and care or he will wither away and die. Kille's egg was given to Quinset by someone who thought this, and it seems the attitudes spread to the chick inside. Kille seeks to do what is best for Quin, not necessarily what he would like. Thus, she often scampers off to attract friends for him, pestering others, stealing from them, or occasionally luring them kindly towards Quinset. Interaction is good for her human, Kille thinks, and thus it is her job to make sure Quin gets all the interaction he can handle, and then some.

Color Preference- I can't decide whether or not I'd like him on a female. A bronze could be interesting as he tries to sort through his emotions for this bronze when his old bronze is still influencing him. A female could be interesting because of how much he would dislike her initially. A male could be interesting to see how he deals with him eventually chasing... Basically everything could be interesting. A female bronze would be amazing but that ain't likely.
Character Preference- He wants nothing. He'll probably be pissed if he Impresses, because nothing can replace his bronze. But he would especially hate a female.
Non-preferred- Probably not an amethyst just 'cause I have two and variety is the spice of life. And also probably not a garnet unless it is a weirdly non-violent one, since I'm not good at senseless violence.

Preferred/Non-Preferred Personality traits- Not something ultra-violent. I'd prefer a confident dragon, one that isn't going to need Quinset for validation at all. Would be nice to have a dragon that just takes him in stride and doesn't care what he thinks of it, rather than one who is crushed by his comparing it to Krillth. Could be interesting to have one who wants to join his campaign to take down queens - a sub-queen who dislikes the "sub-" on her title? I dunno. Or a white or something who can clutch and thus doesn't see queens as necessary. I dunno >.< Too many ideas.
I would like FULL or NOT FULL descriptions for my bonded. I am not sure. Either is fine, depending on how the babywriter feels like doing them.
NOTE: I currently have three weyrlings and so I don't really need another one just yet. If there's a baby in Nimarath's clutch which you really really want to throw at Quin, go right ahead, but don't make a baby because you feel you need to give him one. So Impression is okay if it happens, just don't go out of your way - he's fine sulking around for a while.
