Roxikanta could hear her boots clicking down the hallway, though Auerosth's presence was heavy in her mind. Mine. She Impressed. She did. I saw. I want to see her. I want to tell my little friend I am proud of her! I-- [/color]
Do you not remember how busy and swamped we were after Impression? Actually , I take that back. You ate and slept and did little else for the most part. But we still must consider that Kiona and her hatchling may want and should spend their free time together or resting.
She cut her dragon off, chuckling. She loved the Garnet but he was too excited sometimes... She wanted to see the little girl first..

Kiona was bathing Kindeleth. Afterwards, she tried to oil her. She couldn't get it down right. She growled in frustration. Kindeleth licked her cheek and crooned.
You are doing fine, KionaMine. Don't be discouraged. Learn and have patience.
"Yeah, that's easy for you to say. You are not the one who must oil you." Kiona sternly told her. "The rest is easy. Its just I can't get the oiling down right. There is two cloths here. Why are there two cloths here....there should be only one. Shards, I have only one dragon." Kiona sighed. The girl looked puzzled as she looked at the oil cloths and the pale.

Roxikanta heard the sound of Kiona, and she peered around a corner. It made her smile to see the pair, but soon she frowned as she saw the discouraged girl.
"Hey, don't be that way. You aren't expected to know everything upon Impression, sweetheart." The red headed Garnet rider made her presence known. She came to the side nearest the red-amethyst and the girl whom Rox had grown fond of.
"Shards, I can't tell you how many times I swear I oiled the wrong end of Auerosth! It takes time. And look, you are already ahead of most with a weakness. You openly admit and understand it. The next step is to solve it, and I can help you there."
Auerosth? Change of plans. Come to the caverns. It's time for an oiling lesson. Oh? Right away- yes! Right away!
"Auerosth is coming. He'll be my way of showing you an example. And as for two rags? Well, better to have too many than too little."
It took several moments, but soon a great bumping and thumping revealed the bumbling Garnet. I'm here! He sang, one paw rubbing at his head. I bumped my head. Those ceilings need to be much bigger.... Not very inviting... for big 'ol me...
"Kiona, its simple. You take your rag-" Rox grabbed a rag off of a table. "and apply a fair amount of pressure to your dragon's hide. Your dragon likely won't need as much of a scrub as Auerosth requires, but you'll learn what your bonded requires. Don't forget to be generous with your oil. If you put too little your dragon's hide will get to dry, then it will flake and become itchy and unpleasent." And too much oil.... Too much oil makes you a slippery little bolt! Oh! Mine we could go skidding everywhere! That'd be fun!
I'm teaching, you goose. Sorry! Couldn't help but add that... I'd love to see dragonets zipping here and there like little devils! [/i] "Anyway, you want a circular motion. Push out with your wrist. See?" Roxikanta slapped the rag onto the Garnet's hide, surpressing a smile at the mental image of a slick Auerosth slipping everywhere. She did exactly as she'd explained. "And two rags will just get the job done faster." A two-fisted oil-warrior! Oooooooh! I like that! Fighting flakey and bringing happiness! You are such a distraction.... Auerosth hung his head, trying to behave. He was just so glad to be watching his little Kiona with a dragon. It made him feel over-joyed!
"And don't be afriad to ask questions, dear. I will gladly help you any way I can."

Ohhh! That sounds like fun! Kindeleth piped. Kiona gave her a look.
"I don't think that would be appropriate, Kin." Kiona looked up at Roxi for some support. The girl was hoping that Roxi got the hint and added something to the thing they were about to do. Kiona took the rag and did as was shown. She missed several areas, the rump among others.
Oh, come on...can I play? You never let me have any fun! Kindeleth complained. Kiona sighed and looked at Roxi again.
"Well......I don't know....." Kiona said, thinking what could happen.

"It might not hurt for your little Kindeleth to slide around. I mean, her skidding into a wall or something would not cause damage... But... It isn't a super fantastic idea. We might get in trouble, not to mention it wastes oil..." Rox's eye brows raised as she gave her large red dragon a survey. "Not to mention, Auerosth might cause some problems bumping into things."
The Garnet gave His a look of disbelief. But....but Mine.... "Auerosth. I'd love to play games too, but we aren't weyrlings anymore..." Auerosth gave a dejected snort, giving a pouting sort of expression. I don't want a oiling then. Auerosth.... Behave! I have no idea what's gotten into you, but it needs to stop... Set a good example for Kindeleth...
Dear Kindeleth, Mine says to set a good example... What shall we do? The Garnet directed that to the dragonet only.
"Kiona, don't worry so much." Roxikanta smiled, placing a slightly oily hand on the weyrling's shoulder. "I am positive you'll be a master in no time. Just wait. If at first you don't succeed, try try again. Keep at it. You have leapt your first hurdle- Impression. Now, you face the next challange." Her eyes were kind. "The more you doubt yourself, the more you enforce the bad or the more you improve your mistake. Can't never could. Just change your mind-sets. Instead of saying 'I'll never get this right.' think 'I will just have to keep trying. I can do this. Practice makes perfect.' "
Auerosth was plotting something, that friendly, funny, mischievious dragon!
