J'dol prided himself on his ability to, more or less, understand Kyp's accent, but this was one of the times that the man had managed to leave J'dol in the dust. He spoke so quickly, and with such a heavy accent that J'dol was left trying to catch snippets of what was being spewed. Despite his worry, he did manage a small smile as the weyrling declared that he liked being touched. Silly man, didn't he realize how cruel he was being in admitting that? For J'dol to know the adorable man lying rather helpless on the bed was willing to be touched when the rules said they couldn't do anything was torture.
J'dol shifted uncomfortably for a moment, wondering what to do about the apparent reason for Kyp's tears. Should he hide the truth, or just be flat out honest? He supposed it would be better to find out beforehand about what it was really like.. but was he in any state for such a conversation right now? It was worth a shot... Taking a deep breath, and a quick glance at the bronze, he decided truth now would probably be better than waiting.
"I'm not going to lie to you Kyp. The first time does hurt a little bit... it's why you don't want to leave it to a flight. Give your first to someone with the right amount of experience though, and it doesn't hurt for long. You forget the pain once you get lost in the pleasure. Shards, I'd have you forgetting your own name by the end of it." He paused, still worried that his words were causing some of the discomfort. He wasn't trying to imply that Kyp had to be with him, of course, he was simply confident in his own abilities. he jumped up at the yelp of pain, ready to call for a healer when he felt teeth against his arm and, next thing he knew he had been yanked against K'r. He didn't doubt the teeth would draw blood, no matter how gently Pastenutth tried, but that didn't bother him.
"Well that's a change. Normally dragons are threatening in an attempt to keep me away from their riders!" He joked, trying to lighten the mood as he wrapped an arm around K'r once more. "Do you want me to call for the healer or anything?" He asked quietly as his other hand wove through K'r's hair to play along his scalp gently, careful not to upset the wound. He hoped it would help calm him, but Kyp was quite the confusing individual.

Stripe turns himself enough to peer at the eldest rider, giving him a look that spoke bounds even with the specie gap between them. A little eyeridge lift there, his other narrowed a tad and he looked entirely accusing. He was an over protective little thing it would see, and the warning was enough that while he would allow J’dol to stay here and touch His, he had to tread carefully with this conversation about human mating. It wasn’t like His was a human anyway!
K’r smiled weakly at the others explanation but it was forgotten with the pain in his head and the hand around him. The fingers roaming through his scalp made his knees weak but it had the effect of making him forget, at least some what, that he was in terrible pain.
Leaning into the hand he let out a little sigh. No, he wouldn’t worry about the sex thing till it came sooner till the time when he could do something about it. For now he had other things to worry about, like the deep hidden worry that this head wound had done a lot more than rattle his brain around a bit.
“No, right, no need for an 'ealer. I'm bloody well not so bad, right, right, this is sposed ter go on for orhile so there's no point in worryin' about it.” He brushed the others worry off lightly, leaning into the hand though and practically purred in pleasure. Had he been a cat he would have been purring. The dopey grin on his face was purr enough though.
“'Ave a look, right, yer don't 'ave ter stay 'ere yer know. I can't do much, if I stand up I might fall over, and Stripe there's bored out of 'is poor wee mind 'e just wont admit it.”
Stripe lifted his head from his inspection of K’rs wound to peer at them both, eye ridges lifted in surprise and discomfort.
I am not bored! I am very much amused In his rush to prove this he spoke to both of them to hear.
K’r smiled.
“See, told yer, he's bored. I'm bloody well not right much fun, init?I'd likely 'ave ter be carried outside fough, and I 'aven't seen the sun since...well I don't remember. Is that bad?” He sighs wistfully turning his head just enough to catch a glimpse of a topaz hide from behind his open tent door, and let out a little pout. He missed her to, not that he didn’t love Stripe! It’s just, she was his first dragon-love.

J'dol didn't miss the look Pastenutth sent his way and simply responded with a sheepish smile. "I'm just saying. You've got plenty of time before then though." He shrugged, nuzzling against K'r as the man pressed into his hand. He was glad to have stumbled across that particular secret; it certainly came in handy. He grinned at the way K'r seemed to melt into the touch, and pressed a tiny bit harder, still careful not to cause more pain.
"Did they at least give you something to numb the pain?" He paused, wondering if there was a way of stealing any fellis from the infirmary. He had seen the wound, and he knew it had to hurt, there was no way it didn't. "I'll stay as long as you want me around Kyp. I'd rather visit you than sit in a stuffy weyr pouring over tithe skins." He chuckled then, looking over at Stripe.
"Bored? With the ability to peer into that crazy mind of yours, Kyp?" He grinned at K'r before glancing about the tent. "Yeah, I'd be pretty bored if I was stuck in here all day. How have you not lost your mind, cutie?" Pausing again, he followed K'r's line of site until his own gaze settled on the hint of Kayath he could see.
"She's been worried about you, you know. I don't think she ever stops watching the tent." He spoke softly, fondly as he looked at her. He wondered what it was that made her mothering instinct come out with Kyp, but it was there, and it was strong. "Would it hurt for you to be carried? I think I could manage it if you want. I know she'd like to see you with her own eyes for once." As he waited to find out the plan, he continued running his fingers along K'r's scalp, aiming for the places he knew the man liked.
Kayath rumbled. She certainly wanted the ex-farmer to come out and see her, she missed him dearly. She would have even spoken to him, but she was worried that it would be dangerous because of his injury and fresh bond. So, she simply hummed and rumbled to let those inside the tent that she wanted them outside with her.

K’r peered sleepily around him for the medication the healers had left. They were not leaving him with the heavy duty stuff, the stuff that could form addictions and what not, but they did leave him with something to help numb the pain somewhat. With orders to not take more than he could handle he slowly shifted his body to grasp the nearby pouches left by his pillows. Pushing Banner away from him, ignoring the protests the garnet let forth, he manages to flick a small pouch onto his lap all without moving his head away from J’dol’s magical fingers.
“Here’s some.’ He mumbled quietly out as he tried his best to open it and not spill any of the ground herbs every which way. He sniffs at the strong astringent smell before he pointed to the water skin.
“hey won't leave me wiv fellis, obvious why I mean I'm still yung and prone ter fallin' off of the nearest 'ighest point and wot not. But this they said could be mixed wiv 'ot water, makes a tea of some sort. I've been mostly sleepin' fough so I 'aven't tried it, and I don't 'ave anyfink ter make a fire wiv 'ere.”
Banner uncurls enough to stick his head in the herb bag, snorting up a good amount before he stumble back against the tent wall sneezing out clumps of the herbs in rapid succession. Eyes watering the firelizard whines as he rubs his head against the ground hoping to try and get rid of the painful itch.
“Yor’ fault.” K’r told him, though he did sympathetically try to help get the herbs out by scratching his nose.”
If yer 'elp me, I can sort of walk. Just cop right dizzy and fall over.” He smiles weakly as Stripe, getting the hint backs up out of the tent never taking his eyes off of his person until the fabric slides shut behind him. A little worried croon was given before the bronze shuffled his way over to the queen peering up at her with interest.
K’rMine says you stole his heart, is he going to mate-dance with you? He thankfully only spoke to Kayath when he said this.
“I do want ter get some fresh air, right, and ter see 'er. Not that I don't want ter see yer! Oi! Trust me, right, right, right, I just miss 'er to, she's the first Lady ter nick me 'eart any road.” With regret he tugs himself away from the others hand, his own shaking a bit with weakness as he tugs at his blankets trying to get them off of his body so he could move.

"I don't think I'd trust you not to hurt yourself with fire," J'dol grinned, meaning his tease in good faith. Shards, he barely trusted himself with fire when he was sick or injured, and he had never been in as bad a state as Kyp currently was. "You've got Banner though, does he know how to help? My Spazz is a pain in the butt but I managed to teach him to fetch things for me. You should try with your flit eh? Would give you something to do in this stuffy tent anyways." He had Kayath call for Spazz, if only because he listened to her better than to his owner. Then again, Kayath could use images to get the point across, as well as warn the kitchen staff ahead of time to prepare what was needed. He gave a little chuckle at Banner's antics. Kayath had remained patient while she waited outside the tent, watching through J'dol's eyes. She did spare some attention as the little bronzeling came near her, and cocked her head at the question. It was certainly an odd one and, not knowing the answer herself, repeated the question to J'dol. It did of course, cause the man to give a snort of laughter before sending back a mental response. He didn't quite know how to feel about losing to his dragon. I'll have you know that a queen of my standing does not steal. Mine says K'rYours is much too tiny and lacks the wings to chase. She cocked her head, thinking, clearly confused by the notion. She didn't quite understand the idea of a human wanting to mate with her; after all she simply knew that the need to Fly hit her and that she needed a strong mate to lay many eggs. "Oi," He copied the man's habit accidentally, "Relax you. I can't help but think you like me being here. After all I doubt you let people you don't like sprawl all over you and fondle your sweet spots." He gave a cheeky grin but moved away nonetheless, giving K'r the space to move. It was around that point that Spazz finally appeared with the skin of hot water, and J'dol busied himself with making the drink as K'r tried to get the blankets off. "Hopefully this isn't too strong, here." He handed the skin over with a warning that it was hot before kneeling low next to the bed and making sure K'r was uncovered enough to stand. "Here, put an arm around my neck and I'll support you." He glanced back out to the bit of Kayath he could see. "She was the first for me too." He finaly said softly. She had been the first being to ever truly touch his heart, the first being, aside from his own father, that he could admit he loved. "Would your dragon there care if she spoke to you directly? Poor girl is trying so hard not to cause you more pain."

Kyprioth’s eyes darted to his flit for a moment then back to the man. He said nothing, merely raised an eyebrow. The look said it all. Yes, Banner did bring messages to him, and even let his elder brother use him to carry messages as well, but that was as far as subservient behavior went for the garnet. He was not about to tell the beast what to do, at least not when it came to using materials that could seriously harm or kill someone.
Stripe thought about what she said for a long moment, nodding his head empathetically. Ah yes, his was a bit small wasn’t he? He did indeed lack wings as well. He nearly told His this but then realization hit that this was not the best idea in the world. Instead he gave a dragon shrug and closed his eyes in thought.
Why would you want a mate that is exactly like everyone else? With that surprisingly wise grain he toddled back to the tend to stick his head and see how things were going.
He accepted the skin with a faint smile taking the time to take a hurried, large gulp, ignoring his burning throat in the process, before he placed his arm around J’dol’s shoulder. He almost opens his mouth to tell him that this means nothing, he just needs help standing up but…why bother? He’s already let him lay all over him, touch his hair and other things, touching him in return seemed only proper some how. He was still awkward about it as he got to his feet though, bending his head to get out of the tent. He waited long enough for J’dol to come out as well before attaching himself to the others side with both hands as a dizzy spell hit him.
“Eh?” Could she talk to him? Why wasn’t she to begin with? He turned a surprised look on Stripe, who wordlessly sent him images of Kyprioth with a headache from others talking to him. Oh. Well Stripe didn’t say no so it seemed fine to him.
“O’ course yer can talk to me.” He told the topaz as he finally caught full sight of her, openly enjoying the beautiful dragon before his attention was drawn elsewhere. He has to turn his head awkwardly since he cant see out of one eye so he has no idea that he’s looking at J’dol for quite a few silent moments, just staring and –admiring- him before he talks once again.
“I guess I can understand why dragonriders usually don't have full time mates.” After all, folks hearts were only big enough usually for one love, not numerous ones. He felt vaguely uncomfortable thinking about that though and was quick to brush it off with his normal wit and acidic humor-sadly the humor also bit him in the backside when he realized what he said.
“I'm bloody well a bit dizzy, yer might 'ave ter carry me, well no wait, yer'd like that wouldn't yer, then, eh, squire? Oh well, right, spose I should admit that I don't mind. But only a bit okay, then, luv? Don't go copping all excited on me or anyfink.
So are yer still gonna be this insufferable in a turns time, wen Stripes ole enough, eh, mate? I would fink yer would grow bored of waitin' for me.”
He blushed, turned to quickly and with a yelp stumbles into J’dol a bit as he tries to stay upright. Barely managing, his head swimming and his vision blurring, he mutters something that sounds vaguely like ‘help’ and a little bit like ‘oh shards not again’ though one couldn’t be quite sure.

Like everyone else? Like everyone else?! She was Kayath! Queen extraordinaire! She did not do what everyone else did, she did better! Snorting, she mulled over the idea. It was weird, it was strange, and the idea didn't quite work, but hey, if it meant one-upping the take-over golds then Kayath would do it. Then Yours clearly needs to learn how to fly. There! J'dol could help her figure it out later!
Surprisingly enough, J'dol hadn't put any sort of sexual or flirtation connection to being a support beam. He had offered to help after all, and while he did like being touchy feely and making Kyp blush, he had every intention of at least somewhat behaving. Maybe... As long as Kyp didn't make it hard to behave! He simply grinned, wrapped an arm around Kyp's waist to help support him, and followed him out of the tent. Kayath was quick to twist her neck about so she could lower her head towards Kyp. I did not want to overwhelm you, K'r. She said as way of explanation as she looked him over, making sure her rider hadn't harmed her favourite little human.
"Some riders try, and some are able to pull it off. Flights make it hard though." And, in the case of J'dol, he was simply unable to stop himself from 'sharing the love'. It was a part of who he was. He chuckled as Kyp once again went on a little rampage of speech, quirking an eyebrow at the man's choice of words. "Luv, huh?" He grinned. "Use me to your heart's content cutie. I'll try to keep my uncontrollable excitement down." He rolled his eyes. One day Kyp would no doubt get to see a side of him that wasn't just the perverted side.
"Am I really that bad? Shards man, I love when someone does it to me." He shrugged, perhaps he really should put a valid effort into not going overboard? Maybe. He'd think on it. "Kyp... You aren't just a plaything you know, or was I wrong in thinking we might be friends huh? Or is it that you want me to keep flirting?" He gave a playful, teasing little grin before continuing, "Sadly I am who I am; a flirt, a pervert, an awesome male specimen... I can't change that, so you can fully expect me to be just as unbearable Turns from now."
He shot out his arms as Kyp stumbled into him, quickly shifting one of his arms to his buttocks, not in a perverted way but to help keep him standing, while his other arm wrapped around K'r's waist to pull him close. "Hey! Kyp don't pass out on me or anything! Are you okay? Should we sit down or call for help...?" kayath, her eyes whirling with worry, dipped her head to press her snout gently against K'r.

Stripe thought hard about this for some time, mulling over what the queen had said, what his rider had said as well, before he responded politely to her. Mine says for you, he will try. There was a lot more about her being beautiful and like no other queen but Stripe saw no point in repeating any of that. If his rider wanted her to know that he could very well speak up and tell her!
K’r had blushed a bit when he realized he had let one of his nicknames go, around J’dol of all people! He called his brother that, for crying out loud! But it was J’dol! And did he hate it? He didn’t know, his head was starting to hurt for more reasons than just his injury.
He felt guilt when he realized how badly he had made J’dol sound but before he could have said anything he had stumbled and he found himself quite tightly pressed against J’dol. A flush crept from his cheeks to his neck and his ears at the hand on his ass, and the fact that in reflex he had grabbed J’dol as well. His hand lay gently on the back of the others neck the other on his bicep.
Without thinking he idly drew his fingers over the soft skin of J’dols neck, not even aware he was doing it as he managed a small smile at him and Kayath. “Oi, yer gotta calm down.” He murmured quietly for her patting her gently on an eyeridge before he did the same for Stripe-should he get jealous. One could never tell after all. “I'm bloody well not so bad just movin' ter fast, thats all. Still cant spot all that well eever, evryfink is sort of blurry..” He was quiet though when he said that not wanting to admit, nor acknowledge that his vision was fully gone in that eye. “Oh uh...Kayaff do yer fink I could sit beside yer, then, mate? Walkin' 'round might be a bad idea, right, but it would be nice ter stay out 'ere wiv yer, right, yer two I mean. Free, then? Argh! Right! Sorry Stripe! Struth! Ack! Oi! I mean four put the mockers on it Banner! Honest!” He clung to J’dol a bit tighter as a rather angry Banner came to smack him on the arm for forgetting him.
“Stupid flitt. Everybudy wants tah’ hurt me.”

Yours is silly. Kayath replied, amused that the man was going to try to chase her. That is why I like him. Kayath would have loved to hear the various compliments that Stripe withheld, but instead was left to merely watch the humans. She shifted to get more comfortable, watching with amusement as she felt the utter glee rolling off J'dol. The man was so simple, taking such enjoyment from a little physical contact.
"I'm allowed to be worried alright. I'm no healer. Think the blurriness will go away in time?" J'dol would have been happy to simply support Kyp and grin at him, if not for the sudden feeling of fingers drawing along his neck. The gentle touch, likely innocent in its intention, sent a shiver down J'dol's spine and the rider was quick to take a deep breath and tilt his head forward to rest on K'r's shoulder, giving the weyrling's fingers easier access to the rest of his neck. He barely took notice of the new bout of rambling that K'r was doing, too busy focusing on the fingers. He did however shift his head to mumble out a reponse, his lips brushing against K'r's neck as he spoke. "Definitely not the plan to hurt you... but you're making it very difficult to behave too."
I would be most upset if you didn't sit with me, K'r. Just have Mine hel- Snorting with annoyance as she realized that Hers was off in la-la land, Kayath shifted slightly and reached out so that they would all hear her. K'r, sweetheart, you may want to stop what you're doing unless you want my idiot rider to 'get excited'. And you, J'dol - you imbecile - stop thinking about nibbling on him and help him over! J'dol pulled away from Kyp's neck reluctantly. "I'm behaving..." He supposed he was lucky it was just fingers, and not kisses, that were being trailed along his neck. At least he could still function when it was just fingers.
"Sitting down, right, good plan." Not releasing his hold on the weyrling, he merely used the hand on K'r's backside to lift the man up, giving a little squeeze despite himself, and started moving towards Kayath.

Well, this was certainly different-and interesting. A part of him, the part which had grown larger and more noisy and pushy since meeting J’dol and his accident, stretched like a cat with cream purring his utter delight at what he had found. So J’dol had a soft spot, and a bad one at that! He wanted to exploit this fact but two things stopped him. The tug on his mind where Stripe ‘lived’, the awareness that the dragonet could not handle Kyp taking this any further than it already was going, and the most important perhaps at least to the ex farmer-the fact that he did not want to admit he enjoyed knowing this little not-secret.
With an apologetic feeling sent his way K’r merely gave Stripe a smile. Won’t do nothing you know, I wouldn’t dare try, especially if it would hurt you! You said touching was okay though aye? I think he deserves a bit after torturing me Not quite sure what to say to that, at least having nothing diplomatic to say about it Stripe merely sent an affirmative deciding to curl up near Kayath’s nose. He tucked his striped body beside her, mindful to not to be touchy should he accidentally offend her.
Kayath’s words, and J’dols little show had the bronze-rider giggling a bit as he was lifted up. His dizziness not faked he clung to the man till they were at the dragons side and with one last purposeful stroke of the mans neck he settled himself down against the topaz’s side one hand resting on his own dragon’s nose. He was content, amused and while in pain nothing it would seem would stop him from pointing out something glaringly obvious.
“So yer know 'ow ter turn me into a puddle, but I can't know yor secret, then, mate? I might 'ave ter abuse that a few times, right, especially just ter get hammer and tack at yer...and I'll admit, for me own pleasure.” He was flushed, which of course at this point in his life wasn’t something new for him, but the smile on his face was sheepish as he admitted something, out loud that he still physically and mentally didn’t want to admit to himself.
Perhaps to cover it up he motioned vaguely to his bandaged head. “They said the bloody blurry would go oray, I took a right good smack ter the bloomin' head, not ter mention the blood loss. I'll 'ave ter compensate for the eye too, right, ffough I'm bloody well sure it-it will cop better wiv time right?” His smile faltered and a sad look came over him but he was quick to ignore it and purposely change the topic as he turned himself to Kayath.
“I'll figure out 'ow ter fly just for yer Lady, right, since yor rider 'ere still 'asn't commited 'imself into provin' that 'e'd take good care of me. Wen I figure out 'ow ter fly in the air, right, yer'll 'ave me right, then? Only such a beautiful vision of a lady like yorself would allow only the best male to touch 'er after all, and I'd 'ave ter be the chuffin' best to fly wit yer

"Mm..." J'dol couldn't help the quiet, low hum of enjoyment as Kyp ran his fingers along his neck once more. It was not necessarily because it felt good, it had more to do with who was doing it. J'dol was sure the first bout of testing had been an accident, perhaps a subconscious action, but that final swipe was, without a doubt, done with the intention of making him feel good. That Kyp might knowingly be playing with a pleasure point made the entire thing even better.
"And what secret is it that you want to know cutie?" His voice was playful as he spoke. J'dol blinked open his eyes, grinning all the while. His eyes actually widened slightly in surprise as Kyp not only mentioned doing it again, but also admitted to liking it. Maybe that head injury was worse than he thought? Not that J'dol was complaining about it at all of course, he was simply surprised. "It's part of the pleasure you know, looking for those secrets. " He leaned his head over, displaying hid neck and winked. "Abuse away, my good man!"
It was Kayath was was first to speak after that. She lifted her head away from Pastenutth to watch K'r. As if my brave, strong K'r would let a little injury stand in his way, right? She snorted and lay her head back down next to Stripe. Regardless of the outcome, I have no doubt that you will overcome it After all, she knew dragons with eye injuries and they got on just fine!
J'dol's smile fell a bit at the forbidden word: commit. He wondered what K'r meant, and wondered if the acknowledgement of his inability to commit to certain things would bring an early end to their playing.
"Oh? What is it you really want from me Kyp?" He finally asked, his voice playful but the look in his eyes mirroring the seriousness that he was trying to hide."And how would I go about proving it to such a stubborn cutie?" kayath simply rumbled in amusement, wrapping her tail around so that the tip rested across both the human's laps.

“I fink I'll let yer free for now.” He told him quietly, turning his head away in embarrassment. He felt…well he wasn’t sure what he felt. Confusion was warring within him and since Stripe was sending worried little notes towards his direction he calmed himself down. Something itched at the back of his mind murmuring that his fears were wrong. How could something that made him happy be bad? He was joking around with J’dol, he was laughing, what was the harm in that? There wasn’t any, and that was the problem.
He shifted to rest his hand on Kayath’s tail enjoying the heavy warmth that the appendage gave. He realized how serious this conversation could be taken and he was quick to shake his head knowing, as he blushed, that he had gone to far to early. “Obviously I were just jokin', ffough if truff be told I know yor serious in yor own way. And wen it comes the bleedin' time that some green rises, right, or Stripe chases-I...I wan't it ter be yer 'oo's there for me. That's wot I mean by commitment.” He was mindful to speak slowly so each word was audible even with his thick accent. He added though, after a moments thought and with a faint smile, “Or R’sren. Stripe 'ad a point, I don't fink I'm bloody well like the uvvers right. The chuffin' idea of keepin' ter one geezer seems a bit odd ter me.” Admitting that took a lot out of him and clearly uncomfortable he gently pushed on J’dol’s arm trying to change the topic at hand.
Stripe got to it before he could even open his mouth to utter the words though.
Mine had dreams during his rest period of flying. You will be there to teach us? After all…who better?
K’r grinned a bit though he was starting to turn a bit green with the strain. He would never admit that he was in pain, it was like pulling teeth. “Yer flirtin Stripe!” He snickered a bit as the bronze, with a dragon blush hid his face against the dirt.

"Ahh damn. I keep forgetting I need to behave." He gave an apologetic frown, well aware that he was pushing the boundaries. Damn Kyp for being so hard to behave around! Of course, J'dol couldn't help the little playful grin that tugged at the corners of his mouth; 'for now' certainly meant there would be some fun in the future.
"I'd be honoured," J'dol spoke softly, wanting Kyp to know that he was sincere in that. This was something he could commit to without a second thought. Truth be told, J'dol was surprised that Kyp was seriously considering him; he had thought that part of the reason K'r tolerated his sleezy advances was simply because he was a familiar face. He blinked in surprise as a second name was mention, and his expression changed to a rather humorous one; a cross between pouting and curiosity.
"Geez man way to get my hopes up then make them crash down around me," He gave a dramatic sigh before chuckling and making a joke. "So, who's this R'sren fellow... and can I test drive him?" He was about to make a comment about how it seemed Kyp was having an easier time talking about it (and J'dol couldn't help but be curious by the lack of ladies in the comment, considering Kyp had always stated his preference loudly) but he understood the gentle push well enough. It wasn't a conversation Kyp was ready to have yet and pushing the topic would only end up in things taking a turn for the worse.
Kayath positively beamed at the compliment. Of course! There is no better dragon in all the skies! She spread her dark wings, casting a shadow over the humans as she showed off her wingspan. Of course, the real flying lessons would be left to the Weyrlingmaster, but J'dol didn't object to an excuse to go for a fun flight.
"Oh now who has the ego, princess!" J'dol couldn't help but call up to her, speaking out loud so that the others could follow the conversation if they wanted, as well as it being a weak attempt to give Kyp a chance to get back into his comfort zone. At least I can back up my claims, idiot rider. Her tail twitched as she fought the urge to smack her rider.
"Oi! If you're going to be a brat I might just be forced to leave a patch of dirt on your hide. You wouldn't! If dragons could wear a look of utter disbelief, Kayath would be wearing one right that moment. It was enough to make J'dol feel guilty. "'Course I wouldn't!" He rolled his eyes and grinned at Kyp, watching Pastenutth in amusement. "Oh you two are going to be trouble one day." He mused more to himself than anything. He frowned slightly, noticing that Kyp didn't look quite up to par, but shoved the thought aside for now. If he needed to go lie down, surely he would say something. Kayath rumbled and lay her head back down near Stripe, her eyes whirling happily.
J'dol leaned back against the dragon, ready to enjoy the warmth of the day, when a flit popped in and dropped a letter on his lap before disappearing. He didn't even need to look at the letter to know it was the monthly report from the headwoman. It appeared his free time would be at an end soon.

K’r was glad for the change of topic. He wasn’t trying to be confusing or hard on the other rider-this already was just terrible for his own self! He almost answered the comment about R’sren, almost; when he realizes perhaps a bit too late that he was showing signs of being vaguely jealous and J’dol would latch onto that like a tick. He sighed closing his mouth with an audible snap, cracking his thin wrists and shook his head. No, he wouldn’t tell him about R’sren, and if the man did ‘test drive him’, he shuddered to think about that though it wasn’t entirely a disturbed shudder, he could figure it out himself. Paranoid didn’t even begin to describe the ebony rider.
He grins softly at the topaz turning to pat her gently on her massive side. “Oi.” He shakes his head admonishing at J’dol giving him –the look-. Many a female had taken that look and used it to cowl many men. It was a single look that spoke volumes, a look that said ‘don’t you dare say anything and if you do you’ll find yourself cleaning the latrines with your tongue’. K’r had no idea that he even had that look.
“Don't worry Luv, right, I wouldn't let yer stay dirty if 'e dared ter leave yer like that. Stripe would 'elp me, he could push a cloff at yor side and I could tidy 'im at the bloomin' same time, It would be a team!” He beamed though he was starting to shake a bit from exhaustion.
Stripe peered up at those words blinking for a moment before carefully, nervously he stepped forward resting his head on K’rs lap. Dragons couldn’t blush but he was doing every effort to hide his face.
Mine you can barely sit up right now, do not dare talk about cleaning either of us. I will tell this one to sit on you and make you sleep if you do not stop pretending to be well
He winces giving his dragon a look before he turned once more to J’dol, resting heavily against Kayath’s sides now. “I'm tired, but I don't want ter go hammer and tack to layin' dahn. It's borin' and lonely. Yer can stay wiv me for a bit longer can't yer?" His voice turned a bit worried as he looked where the flit had been. At least, he thought grudgingly, the creature hadn’t attached itself to any of his body parts.
“Didn’ know eh actually worked.’ He muttered.

K'r was entirely correct in thinking J'dol would take advantage of a jealousy slip up. He would latch on and ride that tease like there was no tomorrow. As it was he was half tempted to make a joke about K'r's 'secret boyfriend/lover' just to see if the man would turn that lovely shade of red again. After all, J'dol didn't miss that K'r tried to avoid the topic. Ah but he had been cruel enough; he supposed it wouldn't hurt to let this one slide. He couldn't however stop himself from giving the weyrling a knowing smirk and licking his lips.
When it came to sex and teasing and taunting, J'dol was a confident man. Very little could throw him for a loop. That said, there were a few things in those departments that were able to unhinge him on the spot. A shy Holdboy, for example, giving him a look that screamed of will power and (dare he say it) domination, made his eyes widen slightly and a light flush rise to his cheeks. Coughing into his hand, he looked away to hide the almost unnoticeable blush as he tried to rearrange the thoughts that K'r had effectively jumbled in his mind. Nine months huh... suddenly it felt painfully far away. He took a deep breath, shook his head, and turned back with a grin as if nothing had affected him.
"You know if you ever want to have bath time together I'd be game. Faranth knows Kayath has a lot of hide to clean!" He chuckled, his eyes sparkling with mischief once more. WHile having a helping hand would certainly be a godsend, J'dol would be lying if he said it wasn't a ploy to see a dripping wet and half naked Kyp. Of course, it was something that couldn't be done until Kyp had recovered, but the thought was nice. Between the imagery and the look Kyp had given him, J'dol was glad he had the letter on his lap.
"Trust me when i say I'd much rather be out here with you than back in my office. Not that i could say no when you ask so cutely anyways." He winked but moved to unroll the skin to see what it was he would need to deal with. "Of course I work!" He grinned and nudged K'r lightly. "Couldn't you tell I'm a hard-working man?" He gave a playful grin; truth be told J'dol rather liked people having the impression that he was a layabout. It allowed him to get his work done and no one thought less of him when he did actually put off doing work because 'it was expected'. Sure, it meant they rarely thought highly of him, but that was a trivial matter.
"Same old same old. Stuffy crafters want meetings about ordering in special materials, the ol' Tanner is injured and needs someone to assist him and the new tithing contracts need to be finalized. Ah the joys of being a 'Weyrwoman'." J'dol sighed and ran a hand through his hair. A quick glance at the list would show the list was significantly longer than the few things he had mentioned. "If you thought your tent was boring, try pouring over skins for days on end and meeting with Lord Holders again and again."
Kayath chortled in amusement, knowing how happy J'dol was to be able to just spend time lazing about instead of working. The arrival of the golds had taken at least some of the burden off of him. With a final rumble, she rested her head down again. If you do not like the tent K'r, why not sleep out here with Pastenutth and myself?
