Name: Sarki
Pronunciation: Sar-key
Age: 17
Season Born In: Winter
Gender: Female
Sexuality: Pansexual
Appearance:
Despite the fact that her skin, while a little pale, is nowhere near the shade of an albino’s, Sarki’s hair and eyes have.. interesting shades. Her hair is such a pale blonde as almost to be white (in fact some are not quite sure which it is) and her angular eyes are an exceptionally pale blue in colour. They vary in shades, of course, but there seems to be no colour to those eyes, or to her hair, either. Her hair is long cut to shoulder length and falls in thin, wispy layers that generally appear unkempt. Two longer pieces are cut out from the rest, and fall to the bottom of her shoulder blades in some weird street-gang fashion, no doubt. These longer strands are often tied up, fastened to the upper back of her head, giving her the strange appearance of some scruffy long-eared furry thing when she’s running.
Her face is an interesting mix of a long, straight nose, high cheekbones (though there certainly a slightly underfed gaunt look to her cheeks), roundly curved jaw and angular, often narrowed eyes. Her eyebrows are generally not manicured as neatly as they could be, though her full lower lip and softly rounded jaw and chin do give her a touch of a feminine appearance. She has the type of face that you would have to stop and look at a while before making any sort of decision on what you feel about her appearance. It doesn’t help that she rarely wears makeup, carries knives and, generally, gives off the air of someone who just doesn’t give a shit what you think. In the aggressive way.
While her stomach is somewhat flat, her arms hold a definite tone to them, one of someone who runs and fights and lives the edge. Probably a bit too much to make her look womanly (though her hips are just wide enough to pass off for someone who might be considered a good babymaker, but don’t tell her that) she makes-do. Besides, she has breasts, and those are certainly visible so there is generally no doubt about her womanhood, though sometimes Sarki wishes there was. Even the tone in her legs is smooth, lithe muscle – for a man she would seem lithe but for a girl it is something that would have her odd in a feminine dress or skirt. Not that she denies her femininity, no she’s fine with having her gender out there, so long as no one treats her different. After all, she is no feminist – in fact, she would be more likely to stand up for the rights of men, and beat the living crap out of any woman who tries the oppressive ‘we are the important ones in this world’. Despite this muscle tone, she is both small and nimble and prefers to fight with speed over strength. She is also very rarely caught in anything feminine – except for a somewhat short and rather tattered skirt at times.
Personality: Sarki is a bit of a paradox in the way that she thinks. On the one hand, she is a pack animal and gravitates towards a militaristic wolfpack order. She exhibits natural leadership skills, yet a lifetime has living on the streets have also made her resourceful, self-dependant and what some would call selfish. She cares little for those she does not know and those that are not a part of her rare inner circle, and even the members of said circle she might be willing to leave if a higher position was found.
Part of her wants to lead, not so much to organize as simply to be the top dog. The other, though, knows that if she led she would be placed with responsibility and be unable to make a mockery of the system itself. She is torn between being a complete and utter rebel, and aspiring to greatness.
When it comes to others she is... unsure. Unused to people talking to her for any other reason than to tell her to get lost she does not take casual conversation well, and often believes it involves some sort of ulterior motive. When she does calm down, however, she can be an interesting conversationalist. Though she always makes the point of how ‘different’ she is from Weyrfolk and Holdfolk alike. A rogue in the system, a break in the status quo – or so she likes to think. Propriety and decorum are not really her style and this may get her into trouble – she eats with her hands, dresses outlandishly and, generally, does things that gain odd looks from people. Call it attention-whoring, she just calls it ‘breaking people out of their damn comfort zones’. But she makes it very clear that she cares not and, in fact, seems to enjoy inciting anger and discomfort in others. Making sexual comments towards clearly uptight, straight women is one of her favourites, oh the looks on their faces...
Speaking of anger, she has a quick and violent temper that can spring up at any time. Fiery as hell, is something she is known for being and 'fireball' has become her nickname amongst allies in her Hold. When this temper rises, though, fists and knives are usually involved (though also a healthy serving of nasty words). Her temper most often gets her into trouble, though she seems not to hold a grudge for too long unless someone has wronged her greatly.
