Siren wasn't as adventurous as Hirion's other two flits, preferring to stay close to Hers and consequently missing out on the hijinks the other two got into, but today was different. Today, Hirion was too busy for her, and the lazuli flit was bored, and feeling strangely restless. She meandered around the Weyr until she came to the river, and suddenly feeling ravenously hungry, dived in to catch a fish or two. She came away with a large fish, and drained it almost dry before looking up again.
Her belly was full, and her blood sang. Siren leapt into the air. She let out a queer sound, half screech, half croon, and sang her challenge to all the male fire lizards of Trelis. It was time; only the best would be her partner in this song!

A bronze figure swerved in the air. Oh how fun! How pretty! A dainty little princess was rising! Did it matter he was not from Trelis? Not to Tav!
A flirty trill answer the female, metallic wings beating as he swooped and climbed. Tav crooned compliments, and sang, trying to catch up with her but also being careful to save his energy. This could be a long flight. And he wanted to win.

Ha!! Finally another flight that Rorce knew about and knew he could win... or at least that is what was in his mind. Yet another female to add to his tally yep yep. The Garnet trilled out his challenge and announcement that he was joining in the flight as he took after the little beauty. Sure she wasn't a queen, which would have been worth much more under his belt.... but she was female nonetheless and he was ready. But lo and behold he wasn't the only one here, in fact there was a bronze nearby!! Softly he hissed towards the other male, his competition... He didn't like bronzes much they always thought themselves better... but no he would this time!!
But nope he now turned his attention to the lovely female in front of him, she looked unique and he had only seen one other like her before. He tried to trill up to her, crooning how she looked so unique and beautiful like an ocean or gem. His wings beat the air, twisting and turning as he tried to do a few rolls hopefully to impress her.

Oh? What was that? A screech, a croon? Well whatever it was, it had certainly gotten one energetic blue’s attention. Spazz stopped what he was doing – chasing insects around the fireheights – and looked towards the river, trying to figure out what the call was. Oooh but it was a female wasn’t it? Tucking his wings, he swerved towards the river, seeking the female. When he did find her… oh what a beauty she was!
He opened his maw and sang a brief little song for her, more a series of curious chirps than anything else, as he tore off after her. He had found her, he would chase, and it would be so much fun! It didn’t matter to him that other chasers had already arrived; they were simply players in this fun little game and he would try to outmaneuver each and every one of them.

Siren did a loop in the air so she could get a better look at her chasers. None of them were particularly familiar to her, but ooh! What was this? A nice big bronze and a garnet were both interested in little old her! And that blue had such a pretty song. She hummed to herself, pleased, and then crooned another challenge to her suitors.
Her voice was high and melodious, and the song she sang fast, though it was made up of chirps and croons. She invited them to sing as well; interested to hear what sort of songs her suitors could come up with. She could hardly be with someone who couldn't sing, after all.

Tav's heart drummed in his chest. Oh, how dainty and pretty she was! So worth his time... He beat his wings hastily, excitment increasing thrice as much. His maw let out a deep toned cry, keen and praising. He raised his voice to compliment the female, joining her lovely sounds with his brass notes.
He corkscrewed, chirping with delight. Oh, he would treat this princess right.. If she chose this King, he would show her what it was like to be worshipped.
Princess! Goddess! Blue jewel of beauty! He sang, doing his best to ignore the other males. She was his... HIS!
He swallowed the growl in his throat, keeping cool as best he could. It was a fair game. He was a fair King!

Max chattered to himself as he watched His working with Large His. As fascinated as His might be, this work held little interest for the little brown firelizard. He wasn’t sure what had drawn him out from the barracks at that point, but the sight that greeted him had his blood boiling with flightlust. He shot into the sky after the lazuli firelizard and her chasers, his light chocolate colored body with his tan wings, wheat colored tiger stripes, and dark chocolate colored belly doing summersaults, twists, and dives as he strove to catch Siren’s eye. He sang a sweet, but adventurous song as he did his best to perform for her. But let’s face it, he wasn’t as agile in the sky as the blue was, and he wasn’t even as big as the garnet, nor the bronze for that matter! But that didn’t stop him from trying!

Not only was Spazz a rather noisy chaser, he was also the type to show off. Although, it wasn;t his intention to show off, he simply liked having fun and he found great joy in flipping and spinning through the air. His small, lithe body was easy to contort into all sorts of shapes as he twirled and swerved, rose and dove to follow Siren.
He chirped in curiosity as she began singing, quickly joining in with a series of warbles and chirps. The sound coming from his throat was likely the highest of her chasers, but he didn’t mind. Trying to accent her song was simply too much fun! Sadly, in his enthusiasm his song became incredibly quick and noisy, and wasn’t entirely pleasant for human ears if only because of the sheer chaos of it. Perhaps Siren would think differently though. Spazz poured his heart and soul into his song; one that screamed of fun and the sheer happiness of being alive.

Rorce gave a slight huff, what was this? Song? How in the world was he supposed to sing!! He was a Garnet, one to slash and tear!!! not warble someone's ear off with things he didn't understand! In defiance he screamed out against the song, no he will not follow like a dumb little herdbeast. He even scolded those around him before he tried to flap himself closer with only a little spin to it. He just screamed out that he was there and he wouldn't follow the song, he was not a follower, and that they were all weaklings. Rorce was no weakling, in fact he screeched at Spazz at his rather horrible song too. He thought it was best to not sing at all, this was a flight not a concert..

The lazuli female hummed in delight as another fire lizard joined the chase. Oh, more singers. How nice! She let out another burst of high, quick chirps, trying to keep harmony with all of the males' songs, from Tav's deep, brassy cry to Spazz's high and noisy warbles.
But--what? The garnet didn't want to sing? But singing was so much fun! Siren did it all the time. She crooned sadly at him. Oh well, she was getting tired, anyway. It wasn't like she was a gold or a sub-queen, anyway; she was built for short, fast flights, and hers was coming to an end. She gave another considering look to her chasers, wondering which one would be her partner.
Siren's flight slowed slightly, and she crooned, low, flirty sound for her chasers' benefit, and mostly Tav's at that. The bronze's deep voice had provided a nice contrast to her own high notes, and she'd liked his song. He'd make a good mate and father for her eggs. She just waited for him to catch up.

Tav puffed put his chest, putting his final burst of energy into his body. Up, up, twisting and humming as he went on after Siren.
She was stunning, and...and....HIS!
He trumpeted a charming call, just as he reached her side. Nervously he cast a glance behind, almost thinking Siren had meant for some other male....
He crooned, tail brushing the pretty lizard's cheek....

Spazz gave a sad warble as the pretty lady picked another. He paused, almost hovering where he was as he watched her twine with another. Cocking his head to the side, he watched for a moment before the reflection of the sun on something on the ground caught his attention. One thing was for certain, the blue didn't take losses hard.
