Auerosth waded through the river, wings held open and neck curved. His body glittered with muscles and also with water that splattered his vividly red hide. Mine I am bored. Come get in the water. Aren't you hot? The Garnet could see the sweat on his red-headed bonded's forehead. I will in awhile, Auerosth. Right now I really should stay dry.
Auerosth rumbled in displeasure, and then he stepped out of the water. Suddenly he jerked his head up. Someone is here Mine! I sense them! Oh I want them to come over here!!
Roxikanta scratched her head, standing up.
Helllooooo! Come and join me for a swim? The water feels fine! Auerosth was quite excited, and hardly kept from bouncing around like a big red puppy.

Talath stiffened beside Aela. The woman turned and looked at her Obsidian with a weird look. "Tal?"
We have just been invited to take a swim.... by a Garnet. He seemed rather excited, no malice at all.
"Odd. Garnets aren't known for being without malice. Is it a ploy?"
Talath searched quickly and shook her massive head. No it is very genuine. Should we accept?
"I'm interested in meeting this excitable Garnet." Together the Obsidianpair made their way to the water and Aela saw another woman and a Garnet. "Hello!" She called out. The Garnet looked very much different from his other Garnet counterparts. Aela remembered two Garnets that she made sure to steer clear of that she had been present at the Hatchings. One was Yufa's Garnet and the other was D'sel's Garnet, Emiath. Emiath and D'sel seemed to feed off of each other's anger. They were welcome to it.
This Garnet, however, seemed to be an anomaly of his color. It was rare, but it did happen. Aela smiled to the other Rider and watched as Talath surged to the water and entered. Greetings. I am Talath.
Short, prompt, and to the point. Ever so Talath. Aela smiled softly at that. Talath rarely had anything to say, but she was not without manners or advice. Aela reached the other woman's side. "What an odd Garnet. I think I like him already. There are only two other Garnets I have met and they are pretty vicious. What's his story?"

Auerosth turned his head to face Roxikanta. RoxMine, get in the water won't you?
Roxikanta shook her head, quite positive that the rider of the other dragon would be coming. It was certainly embaressing enough since her garb was an unlady-like dried blood colored tunic and pants. I promise later I will. You have enough fun for the both of us.
Auerosth was about to protest when he realized who the company was. Roxikanta covered her mouth to hide her laughter as she watched Auerosth stare at Talath quite bewildered.
Pretty- Lady Princess Talath! His scarlet head bowed a moment. I am Auerosth, and it is such a pleasure to....to..... The Garnet seemed to forget what he was trying to say and he stared at His urgently. To have you join me?
To have your excellent company join me.
Roxikanta saw the obsidian's rider come toward her, and sheepishly, she tried to brush back her red hair with her fingers. She smiled. "Hi, I'm Roxikanta, but you can call me Rox." Aela's words caught Roxikanta off guard, as usual meetings were with suspesious people still scared of Auerosth. Untrusting, or unwilling to go the risk. "I know I love him. We have gotten mixed opinions but I believe yours is a new one."
Auerosth went closer to Talath, almost scared to go near as his last friend had been harmed when he was simplely trying to play. He had forgotten how large he was; how sharp his claws were. How much more he weighed than the green, Peniath.
"Auerosth's story? Well...." She lasped into Impressing at the Hold. The glares she recieved upon Impressing the mutated monster... How the pair was mistreated until they could flee to the Rebellion. Rox supressed a shiver. "I Impressed him upon my first time standing in a Trelis-supporting Hold. I... We were never given a chance to prove how different we were, and we left to come here as soon as we could. I.. I've never had a problem with my silly Garnet. He's just a VERY big, clumsy, red colored Amethyst. He just wants to make friends."

Aela grinned, "I'm glad he's different from his counterparts. Auerosth is cute." She watched as Talath joined the Garnet in the water. She sensed something in their bond, but she could not put her finger on it. "So how did you feel when you Impressed to him?"
Aela remembered when she had Impressed to Talath. She enjoyed the Obsidian's company and was glad they were together. Talath was one of Aela's other halves and she could not imagine her life without the big Dragon. Sub-Queen! Aela still could not believe that Talath was part of the Queen category. It amazed her how regal the Dragon was even though she did not have the command that a Gold had.
To each their own. It always made Aela very happy to see two lifemates joined together during a Hatching. Aela had her Talath and R'hard had his Kaith. Love filtered between their bond from Aela to Talath who responded with a mental nudge of affection.

Minemiinemiiiiiiine! The pretty dragoness is talking to me!!! Ohohohoh! Roxikanta covered her mouth with her hand, trying not to let out her chuckle. She turned back to face Aela, watching the Garnet and the Obsidian from the corner of her eye.
How did she feel after Impression? Her mind traveled back to the day, memories flooding forward. "I remember being shocked. I... I ran away from my own home at a young age. I.. I really did not expect anything like this.. Maybe a green or an amethyst but..." The red-head could not hide the grin that touched her lips. "when Auerosth's clumsy body came toward me, I remember stumbling backwards. I wanted to run. I mean. This was a Garnet tripping toward me... But as I fell, the look on his face broke my heart. He whined and hung his head, and I forgot I was scared... Before I knew it I had my arms around him. It was happy for us. But we had a good deal of trouble with people who did not trust us. Auerosth is a Garnet. Few people see he is different..."
Roxikanta watched her red dragon with a soft smile.
Auerosth lifted his head to watch Talath happily. Shall we swim, Royal Talath?
His tail wagged slightly from side to side, but anyone could see he was near bursting with glee. He had never been treated so fairly by another, much less such a lovely Queen!! He crooned, eyes glowing green and blue swirls.
"Auerosth seems to like Talath. He usually is not treated so nicely. Everyone sees him as a Garnet. No one wants to give him a chance because they are scared. I know we should not worry what others say, but he's so friendly. He wants to be everyone's friend."

Talath dipped her head. We shall swim, but please just call me Talath. I don't care if I am a Sub-Queen or not. Your a Dragon and I'm a Dragon. End of story.
Aela laughed, "Its rare to hear her speak like that. Usually she speaks a word or two or not at all. I love my Talath. She doesn't care if you are a rider of a royal dragon or a puppy like Garnet. She treats everyone the same... well... the same that treats her nicely. There is one pair that the two of us despise. He's a Garnetrider too." Aela shook her head at that thought.
Talath walked into the water and then began swimming. How about a challenging race? It would require our riders and a race underwater. Talath said this for Roxikanta to hear as well.
Aela turned to Roxi, "You up for a challenge? Talath won't be offended if you say no. But its always fun setting some challenges to become better riders." Aela smiled and waited for the other woman to respond.

Auerosth gave Talath a rather confused look as the obsidian was so humble. He actually looked like he would object, as he knew all dragons of rank deserved respect. But... She'd asked him to call her by her name.... Oh FriendMine! I do not know what to do! This princess is lovely and should be referred as such... But she asks to be called simplely by her name!
Roxikanta stifled a smile, quickly quieted by her dragon's great problem. You should do as she asks you to. It is good to be polite, but any Knight would obey an order.
The Garnet nodded, a quick bob of his head really. Talath's second request made a brightness come to his eye. Oh! We would love a challenge! Rox looked at her Garnet with surprise. A race? Yes Mine. A race. It will be good for us.
And? You aren't mentioning something! There was hesitation in Auerosth's reaction. And one might even say his face hide seemed the faintest bit more vivid. I want to impress beautiful Talath... She is nice.. And... And....
And.....? And what?? Roxikanta watched her dragon intently. And I think I like her. Yes. Mine I like this queen very much. I want to please her... I want her to like and respect me...
The red-head flushed with the rush of her dragon's bashfulness. And she hoped if Aela saw anything, she could tell enough from Auerosth. "Yes. How shall this race begin? And what are the rules...? Auerosth is so very excited..." Then lowering her voice, she added. "He seems to enjoy being near your bonded, Talath, I believe?" There was a happiness to her tone. Auerosth needed a friend. He had very few, and none that were his size.
