Assaila had seen them leaving Gar's room. How could he do that!? Iro was a Weyrling. He shouldn't have been there. he shouldn't have done that to say the least. And why would he? Assaila sat down on a rock and covered her face as she started to cry. Why? she ahd been trying to be good and he went and did that? He does not deserve you. He does not deserve us.
Assaila raised her head. "Just call Syphraelth, Gor..." Gorganoth snorted. Syphraelth! Mine wishes to see you! And yours would be greatly appreciated! Assaila leaned against the Green's side and petted her soft hide gently.
She was hissing with the irritation that her rider felt. Assaila felt horrible right now. She was rubbing her face. She bit her lip and wiped furiously at her eyes before standing and looking towards where... their Weyr was. Syphraelth... won't you please bring me a treat too... I am hungry but I cannot leave mine now. There was the slightest hint of a whine in her voice. A whine and a demand.
Assaila through her fists downwards in irritation and looked at her dragoness as she crooned. We are too perfect for them! They have no idea who or what they deal with! The green hissed, her neck moving like a snakes, her tail twitching with her irritation.
((Sorry it's short... ;-; ))

The weyrling Gorganoth has requested our presence, GarMine. She demands a meal is brought as well. Shall I bring one? As luck would have it, Syphraelth had been in the middle of a meal himself as the message had come in. While he believed she was acting above her rank - that of a weyrling - Syphraelth was a caring brown and disliked seeing his class suffer. J'degar groaned and dropped his head to the table, eyeing the stack of skins he had been going through, searching for ways to make the lessons more appealing.
Are you sure I can't avoid it a little bit longer? He asked, though after draining his mug of klah he stood, knowing Syphraelth would not give him an answer. He heard the brown land on the ledge, giving a snort to let his rider know he was ready to go. With another sigh, J'degar grabbed up the skin of klah, added a few drops of fellis, and vaulted onto the brown's back after picking up the wherry that Syphraelth had brought up.
It wasn't long before the pair was spiralling down to where his once-weyrmate waited, and J'degar couldn't deny he felt mildly uneasy. He took a deep breath as the brown landed, and dropped down on the ground, tossing the wherry haphazardly at Gorganoth, the sharding green who had ruined everything. What seems to be the problem, little one? We have come to help.
"Assaila." J'degar said curtly, trying to act stern and unattatched, though his eyes looked both her and Gorganoth. Of course he was concerned about them, both of them. He wanted to know they were safe, learning well, trying their best to stay alive.

Gorganoth gave a pleased little croon. Thank you Syphraelth. The green began to tear into the carcass, though she was being rather... dainty over all. She hissed at Gar, however and looped her neck around Assaila protectively at the pain that pulled in her rider's heart. Assaila couldn't bear to look at him, instead she wrapped her arms gently around her green's neck. "We have done a good job of avoiding each other.... Weyrlingmaster. But you... I know..." She bit her lip and hid her face against the green hide of her beautiful little green, her shoulders shaking silently. "I never would have thought you'd do that... at least... with a Weyrling... or Iro..." She had her back to him now, but Gorganoth was watching, her eyes whirling red and orange. If she could fly with her rider now, she would take her and be gone from here immediately. She flared her wings protectively over her rider.
Assaila cooed softly to her green, realizing just how upset she was makingher Gorganoth and tried to calm her a little bit. But... of course that didn't quote work out - her emotions still affected her pretty little green.
Gorganoth looked at Syphraelth. Mine has a great pain being caused by something... called love... the green said softly, broadcasting her thoughts to those that were there, which, fortunately, were just Assaila, Gar, Syphraelth, herself... and Her's Brown flitter Barly.
Assaila was trying very hard not to let this affect her or get too bad or upset him... she wanted to love him and know that he loved her still... But what about all this. What could they expect...?

"That's what's bothering you?" He couldn't have tried to hide the irritation in his voice if he had wanted to. He was pleased she was trying to be formal about this, but the very idea that she had called him out here because of that was just too much. He brought up a hand to rub at his temples, trying to will away the headache that was forming.
"Assaila, you listen, and you listen well. In less than a Turns time, Gorganoth will likely rise and you will discover just how foolish you sound. It is flightlust, Assaila, it is an uncontrollable urge brought on by your dragon's mating lust. It doesn't matter who your partner is, what your preferences are." He sighed and moved closer, giving Gorganoth a look that said he didn't care what she though, he was going to move closer. He sat down next to Assaila and gave her stern look, though it softened after a moment and he reached over to rest a hand on her shoulder.
"Not much happened you know. I tried to warn him but he didn't understand until it was too late... when Syph lost he stopped me." He ran a hand through his hair, "I didn't think anyone would come to my weyr, I meant to be alone." It was the honest truth. His plan had been to keep himself in his weyr and deal with the flightlust on his own. He hadn't expected anyone to bother him, much less a weyrling. Syphraelth rumbled in agreement and settled down to rest in the sun. Mine knows the pain of love. He only wants you and Yours to be safe.

She sighed, her shoulders slumping. "I knew she flew... I didn't know Syphraelth was involved... I guess... I had hoped... he wouldn't. But I suppose it shouldn't come as a surprise. She is a queen after all." She rubbed her face and Gorganoth gave a soft croon.
Assasila closed her eyes at the feeling of her touch, feeling a pang in her again. "I can't help but love her... but... it's hard..." her words were so soft that they were probably only just barely heard.
"Was she okay?" She honestly cared more about the dragoness than she did about Iro at this point. Simply because she realized, even if Gar didn't, that Iro wanted more than friendship with Gar... and despite that maybe not being a possibility to Gar... it was to Iro. She looked at him seriously. "I think you would have killed me if I had been the one to come by at that time and you saw me when you woke up and I was there with you..." She sighed and bit her lip. "I don't want to risk her though... and I don't want to make you worry anymore than I know.... you probably already do... or hurt more than you have...." She closed her eyes tight. She honestly... just wanted her Gar.
We are doing fine and we learn well. Mine and yours both hurt, yes? Then hwy do they try to stay away from each other? I do not understand why is it so important they keep it from each other? Mine has not wanted yours to know how bad she hurts. Is this because yours would hurt more? The stream of questions were shortly followed by the green digging into the wherry yet again. She hissed slightly as she tore into the flesh, enjoying the meal greatly. She ate with the grace of a queen, but her attention was on the brown, her rider, and his rider.

"He will always chase a queen." J'degar wasn't going to try to sugar coat it; he wanted to be Weyrleader, he had wanted it for more Turns than he could remember. He knew the only way to obtain that power was to win a flight, and though Syphraelth wasn't as keen on chasing queens as J'degar was, the brown wouldn't deny his rider. It simply wasn't in his nature to say no to J'degar.
"As far as Iro'ris has told me. Her hide is bright and she seems as strong as always... thankfully." Truth be told, as much as J'degar still disliked the mutants, he could never have forgiven himself if Saekath had been hurt in any way. Gorganoth too... he worried for all the dragonets of course. It was his duty. "If I find out you have put her or yourself in danger there will be hell to pay." He gave her a narrowed look, leaving no room for argument that he was serious. Syphraelth rumbled and stretched out his neck to watch the green eat.
Mine hurts because he cares, little one. He wants you to grow strong and healthy. He will do nothing to compromise your health, at the cost of his happiness.

Assaila was quiet fora long moment. "Is your promise... still true, Gar...?" she asked him softly. She believed she knew his answer. She knew he would know that she believed him, but that she simply wanted to hear it. She needed to. She felt so alone... So... distant right now from all that she had known.
I am too important to risk. Just as mine is too important to risk. she crooned happily and swished her tail back and forth for a moment and then chortled, as if amused with her own words and looked at the brown with a soft croon and swirling eyes. She liked him. She liked him very much. Do you ever chase greens, handsome brown?
Assaila shook her head and hit her forehead slightly. "Gorganoth!" She shook her head. "Well... I suppose I could keep my mouth shut about the fact that I can't wait til I've graduated so I can fly with you again..." She blushed and turned away from his slightly. "You're going to make me run now, aren't you?" She sighed.

He gave her a calculating look, wondering if she truly needed confirmation, or if she just needed reassurance. The female heart was a fragile thing after all, wasn't it? "I don't break my promises." That was a lie; he had broken an important promise once. He had promised never to move on, to always keep his first wife in his heart, and to a point it was true, but Assaila had managed to push her way into his heart as well. It was a betrayal of that promise but... well there was nothing he could do about it.
The brown cocked his head to the side. Hm... Syphraelth rumbled, amused by the question. I suppose I do, little one, if one happens to strike my fancy. Syphraelth liked to chase, liked to show the females they were loved and wanted, even if he lost. He chased more than one might think, with how lazy he was, but it made him happy.
J'degar couldn't help but chuckle. "That's a green for you." He added, "She will no doubt teach you just how impossible flightlust can be to ignore... Assaila," His expression turned serious again. "Words and actions are two different things... usually. I can't make you run for thinking or saying what is on your mind. You must try to block the stronger emotions from your dragon. They're getting older now... it will take more to affect them, but taking caution is always the best course." He reached out to tuck a strand of hair behind her ear, though he hesitated and drew his hand back. It wouldn't do any good to go against his own words.

She looked at him seriously and gently reached out a hand and stroked his cheek just ever so briefly and gently. "Thank you... I needed to hear you say it out loud, my Gar..."
She looked at him with searching blue eyes and... eventually felt he need to look away to keep her temptation to kiss him in check. She looked to her dragoness who was still eating.
Maybe I will strike your fancy... hmm...? The green seemed to purr as she looked at the brown, her tail moving back and forth like a snake as well.
The little green was rather... flirtatious.
"Probably... but... I'll always be coming back to you... when it's over." She was almost positive he would make her run after that. Faranth. "Well... at least there is that. But... I am still trying to be careful, Gar... For her. I never imagined how much I would love her once... I had her."
She smiled and leaned into his hand, one hand moving over his. "I miss sitting and talking with you. Did you even wonder why I wanted to talk to you out here instead of going up to the weyr to talk with you Gar?" her words were soft. "It was because... If others can see us... I thought it might be less... tempting..." She blushed and looked back towards her dragon again.

As she reached out to touch him, his hand shot up to grab her wrist and he looked away. Though his grip was gentle, the intent was clear; don't get ahead of yourself. J'degar knew, if he let her so much as touch him, he'd want to let her get away with more, and it was something neither of them could afford. The brownrider was in enough trouble as it was for allowing flightlust to get the better of him with Iro. As it was, he didn't even want to release her hand.
"Only a dragonrider can understand the bond." He spoke quietly, looking up at Syphraelth as the brown crooned in response. It was a love like no other, one that made you feel whole, and only by Impressing a dragon would anyone ever understand what it was like. His eyes narrowed at her words and he stood, putting distance between them as he moved to stand near Syphraelth.
"I rarely spend time in my weyr." He replied gruffly. EVen if he did, there was no way he would be letting a weyrling in there any time soon, not after what happened during Chahaturth's flight. Syphraelth rumbled in agreement; most often Gar had taken to finding a weyr closer to the barracks for the night, simply to avoid his own weyr. He rumbled again as Gorganoth attempted to flirt with him. Perhaps, when you are older little one. He didn't want to give a definite. The last thing his rider needed was Assaila's green getting too close, but Syphraelth did move to nudge the dragonet. But you must work hard in your lessons little one. He took his prompting from J'degar, but the words were sincere.

Assaila sighed and dropped her hands to her lap looking down at them. She knew he was right... but... it was so hard. and it hurt so badly. He was so close... and so far... all at once... She stood and walked over to Gorganoth who raised her head to nuzzle against Assaila who wrapped her arms around the dragon's neck, ignoring any bits of blood (though there were surprisingly few) on her dragonet's muzzle. She needed her more than she could say.
Anori chirped indignantly at Gar for a moment before darting to Assaila's shoulder and tucking himself into her hair and nuzzling against her neck. Assaila's shoulders showed quite plainly how sadly she was at this point.
She scratched her eyeridges gently as the dragoness crooned at her again and sent soothing thoughts to her rider. I will be big soon enough. Then you can be with him again, Assaila... and if he does not want that... then he is foolish. No one is better than you. The dragoness snorted at thevery thought of anyone being better than Assaila... or herself. If she was the best... then her rider was the very best.
The green rumbled in amusement. Oh I will work hard. I already am. How else will I keep myself amongst the very best? She was still flirting.
"I'm sorry... It probably wouldn't be so bad... if..." She sighed and let her shoulders slump and wrapped her arms around her dragonet's neck gently.
It is not your fault. You did not plan it! Don't apologize to him! She laughed slightly at her dragonet's comment softly and nuzzled against her neck. Yeah.... she loved her dragonet like no other. And her daughter... oh... Anna. "Have you seen Anna much lately, Gar?" she asked softly, her heart aching for her little girl. Anna didn't have much tiem to spend with ehr mother and her mother didn't ahve much tiem to spend with ehr...

Of course little one. There will be many trials in the future for you to tackle. I look forward to watching your progress. The brown rumbled, his eyes whirling contently. It was endearing to see the little dragoness throwing herself into her training so strongly. She's flirting with you, lazy brown. J'degar rolled his eyes, having listened into the conversation through their mindlink. Syphraelth simply rumbled lazily and looked back to Gorganoth.
Little one, I am afraid I am still hungry, would you like to take a practice flight to the pens with me, while Ours speak? With roughly five months having passed since their hatching, the dragonets had begun unladed flights, it was unbelievable how quickly the day of manned flights were coming. The idea made J'degar pale a bit, now that he had two students that he cared deeply for.
"There's nothing that can be done now." J'degar growled. As unhappy as he was about Assaila's impression, he knew the dragons knew best, and now that she was a rider there was no going back. All he could do was keep an eye on her, work the class to the bone, and pray that they would make it through unscathed. His expression softened at the mention of Anna.
"It has been a long time since I saw her... Whenever I have a moment of free time she seems to be knee deep in her healing lessons. She must miss you..." As much as I do. It was unspoken, but it was how he felt. Perhaps he would seek out his little step-daughter on the next restday and take her out for a flight.

And I shall take them all on! As I must. She looked at Assaial with a soft croon and Assaila smiled again. The dragonet croned. I would love to! Let's go! Mine you will be okay, won't you? Assaila smiled softly. "I'll be fine, Gorganoth."
She watched her little dragoness take a few hopping steps before becoming airborne and had to stifle the urge to laugh. It is hard work! but soon we will fly together!
Assaila looked at Garas he growled. "Gar..." her voice was soft, gentle, loving perhaps. "I'll be safe... I'll do my best." She scratched Anori's chin without thinking about it, looking towards the little brown as she tried not to let her pain show.
"She is studying so hard... She wants us both to be proud of her..." She sighed softly and looked at him again. "I miss her too... y little girl...And she is even at the Weyr. I bet she misses spending nights in the weyr with the two of us..." she missed it too, but she wasn't saying that.
She looked up at the sky as if there was something keenly interesting there... thoguh there was decidedly not.

Syphraelth was, all in all, rather quiet as he flew. Only the briefest rumble of amusement could be heard as he watched Gorganoth take off, but he knew as well as his rider that it was likely something that would disappear with practice. His own take off had been much smoother, wings poised and ready as he curled down and launched himself off of powerful hind legs, quickly catching up to the small dragoness.
As they neared the pens, he kept to the wherries, not hungry enough for a full beast himself. Would you like to hunt first, little one, before they become too panicked? Of course the dragonets had learned how to hunt, but Syphraelth didn't want to make it harder for her by scattering the flock.
"She is still allowed in the weyr." J'degar sighed. "Perhaps I should send the boy to check up on her." He was almost joking, as he knew the two kids didn't exactly get along. However, Firo's schedule was much more open than J'degar's, so it was an option. "By the way, I do hope you aren't wasting your time out here. There's a physical test coming up soon and I won't be pleased if you fail."
