It was complete and utter chaos. That was the main thought that had been on J'dol's mind since Izanycorth had jumped between. They had all lost so much then, not only their only gold and true Weyrwoman, but also a mother, mate, sister, and so much more. Kayath had been rather sullen for the first while, until she had learned that, by process of ellimination, she had become the Weyrqueen.
In a way, he supposed his dragon had the right idea; focusing on happy things to avoid the sorrow that wanted to eat away at his mind. Good things had happened lately. Well.. none that he could think of really. After all, how could anything be good when S'bel had become a Weyrleader. He growled to himself; last thing he needed was seeing that idiotic 'duty is more important than everything else' man. He shook his head, trying to ignore the thought of S'bel. There were many good things to think about! His loving lady, his beautiful daughter, his complete control of the Weyr- Wait one moment! He was in charge now!
"Do you know what this means Kayath?" He asked out loud, eyeing the topaz mischievously as she made a quick, clean kill in the beastpens and began eating. A twitch of her tail was all J'dol needed to see to know she was listening.
"Miniskirts, Kayath. I can make everyone wear miniskirts!"

It will be fine Mine, stop worrying love.
I can't get it out of my head, she's gone Avi...they both are. I never though....Faranth I just...
"Jarali please don't play with that." The little baby cooed as she stopped mid-gnaw on Stella's tail, the green bristling and yet refusing to hiss at the child. Swooping in to, quite literally, save the day Ara took the baby girl in her arms and nestled her close. "That's my baby girl." It had been easier for her to throw herself into taking care of Jarali, and when she could Kiira as well. That way she didn't have to think of losing Inali, or Iirla, or Aeriine. It was too hard thinking of all of that.
Kayath and Hers are near the feeding pens, want to go? I'm hungry.
Ara gave a little nod of yes she did, wrapping the child in a blanket and holding her steady as she headed out with Aries wrapping around her shoulder and back. The gold had finally started taking a liking to Jarali it seemed instead of thinking her as something to compete with. Humming gently the Queen licked the girl's ear, her tail swishing behind Ara happily enough. She didn't look back, but she knew if she did there would be the other two of her small fair with her. Go on ahead and make a kill or two Avirith, I'll be there soon. The green didn't need much more than that, diving down from where she had been circling to take a wherry.
Ara came around the time J'dol started talking about miniskirts, and a bemused chuckle escaped her lips as she came up to him. "Is that really a good idea though love? Now, I could always wear one if you need a fix, and D'tri may too...." She trailed off as Jarali started to pull her hair around her finger, smiling at the baby girl as she nuzzled her close. "How are you doing J'dol?" Raising her gaze back up to the now Senior Weyrlord, Weyrwoman if you considered it that way, she tilted her head, concern in her eyes. Obviously it had finally hit him, or she assumed as much. It didn't mean that he was okay though.

Tipsy was the first to notice the approaching woman. The tri-winged flit chirping and gliding awkwardly over to land on Ara's shoulder, chirping a greeting to Aries before crooning down at Jarali as if to ensure that she was safe and healthy. Avirith, how good of you to join me. A queen should never dine alone you know. Was she already letting her new status go to her head? Yes, of course she was. J'dol grinned as Ara came to stand beside and quickly spun around to stand behind her, wrapping his arms around her and nuzzling into her shoulder.
"Just picture it Ara, S'bel and Sevrin, for example, running around in tight little skirts." He gave a content little sigh at the image, "They would have nothing on you of course, but you can't deny it would be beautiful!" He looked down at Jarali, the love in his eyes clear as he smiled at her. "I am wonderful. It's a great day, my three favourite ladies are as beautiful as always, and my mind is filled with images of scantily clad riders." He grinned at her, hoping she realized he was kidding about the images. His grin did falter though, and he hugged her a little tighter. He was trying to avoid talking about their losses and his new office, but with the way Ara was he didn't doubt her mind was focused on Iirla and Aerinne.
"How are you holding up?"
