Appearance: Zantera is a teenage girl that stands about 5'5". She has a slender build and weighs approximately 125lbs. Her arms and legs fit well to her body size; They are strong but still look womanly. Her lips are not quite as plump as most girls and are a lovely shade of pink. She has a small amount of light colored freckles on the bridge of her nose and very few on her cheeks. Her eyebrows are thin and appear to be plucked but are not. Her nose is neither small nor large and has no point. It fits perfect for her facial structure. Her cheekbones often have a radiant glow to them and her skin is an olive color. She has a few scattered freckles on her arms and one freckle on the back of her left calf. She has a few scars on the outside of her right ankle and on her left arm. Her hands are quite small and look as if she hasn't worked a day in her life.
Her hair has three different lengths of layers and is brown with a blond layer underneath and side bangs that sway to the left side of her face. The longest section of her hair reaches the top of her stomach and has gentle waves like the ocean on a calm night. Her eyes are a glimmering chocolate brown that almost look auburn in the sunlight. When She is nervous she plays with her hair and twists it around her pointer finger. She begins to tremble, her voice gets shaky and she starts to stutter. Her natural voice is calm and soft. She is often caught humming or singing to herself.
She walks with confidence but when she stands she often leans on her left leg. When she stands she often has her arms crossed, or on her waist. She is rarely caught with her arms resting at her side. She bites her bottom lip frequently and when she lays down either to sleep or relax she rubs her feet together constantly till she falls asleep.
Personality: Zantera is very sweet to all of her superiors and her peers, but she can get carried away with sarcasm easily. She does not mean any harm when being sarcastic but can come off to people as impolite. She enjoys building other peoples spirits but does not how how to build her own. She is very positive when it comes to others but not herself. She has self-esteem problems that make her extremely self-conscious.
Besides her self-esteem she tries to be as bubbly as possible to hide how she feels. She is very trusting and honest but may lie in a time of need to protect someone else. Not many people come to her for advice because she is not good at giving it. Although she may be very nice, she can be easily angered. She doesn't like being pushed around like she's trash and hates being ignored. Being ignored only spites her anger.
Jealousy is also a small problem she has. When the same person is recognized for something constantly she gets jealous, but in most cases she is able to control herself.

History: Zantera's mother gave birth to her in her bed early in the morning in Spring. Kiara (her mother) and Mako (her father) already knew that they wanted to name her Zantera. She was named after Kiara's great grandmother Zantera who was the first in their family to be something other than a drudge. They hoped that naming her Zantera would inspire her to be something more than just common folk. Her mother sang to her every night before she put her down to sleep.
When she reached 7 turns she remembered the tune her mother sang to her and began to hum it to herself. She began to go with her mom to dance with her in hopes that her mom would be more successful with a young child by her side. As days and months passed she began to enjoy dancing with her mom. Her father wasn't around as much as he used to when she was 3 turns but she still saw him occasionally. Her father's back and muscles in his legs began to weaken as he got older and her mom became less agile.
When she was 12 turns her mom had left in the morning without telling anyone. Zantera continuously blamed herself for her mom leaving. She could not think of any reason why her mom would leave. Maybe it was because Zantera was becoming to much to handle? Yeah, that was it. She had no other reason in her mind than that. But was it the truth? No one knows. Her father began to take her to work with him and had her cut down the tree's for him. She didn't exactly enjoy it but she did what her father told her to do. She didn't want her father leaving her the way her mom did so every night after her father went to bed she would sneak in his room and sleep at the foot of his bed.
Finally at the age of 16 turns she had her own dreams and goals. She wanted to have a bond with a creature that could not be broken unless death had approached. She wanted to have that bond with a dragon. What if she became a candidate? She would be with a dragon that would not leave her, nor would she be able to leave it. That feeling of abandonment would never creep into her life again.
