It was all just a way to make them shut up and be happy.
That thought echoed in Eiko's mind with no end in sight, her sour mood not helping things. She hated speaking, and the sharding "Leader" they had was making her do so. Shardit all and send her to between. Crossing her arms, Eiko huffed and blew some hair out of her eyes, ignoring Nimarath's laughter. The Obsidian was not much better in her mind, and all she wanted to do was shuffle off to some distant booth with some wine and food in it and relax and not be bugged...unless it was by a few very select people.
But nooo, she had to act a role and stand in front of people and talk. Great. Will you calm down. Embrace it pet, I don't want to deal with them all any more than you do, but we must. If not for what Noita says or what Inali says than for Nymari's purpose. What ever happened to just doing things for my purpose Nim? The dragoness snorted as if to say like it even mattered, and fluttered her wings. Looking around, Eiko watched as rebels mixed with villagers, and the thought that they would have nothing if Rindell hadn't helped them crossed her mind.
No one really understood but it was them that had carried the rebellion this entire time. Now, when they finally had a clutch to show for it and a weyrling class ready to graduate, no one even knew if that would be the epitome of the day. Sighing and shaking her head, Eiko crossed her arms again and then uncrossed them, finally looking to Nimarath to gain the attention and get people to come closer to the middle of the village where the stage was set quite literally.
WEYRLINGS TO THE CENTER OF THE VILLAGE....anyone who cares enough to come watch some new riders graduating come as well. Noita will address them afterwards.
I'm a weyrling Nim, I shouldn't be giving out knots and doing all this stuff. She should be doing it.
She wants to set an example and show you off, simple as that...at least you look nice pet.
This was true Eiko supposed. The rider looked down at the low backed black dress she had pulled on, poking the halter that kept it up. Instead of wearing some sort of uniform or anything else they were supposed to get dressed up and look nice. Great, at least it was good for the heat....and she supposed if a certain garnetrider asked her to dance she might just have to say yes, though she didn't really know how.

Nymari did not wear dresses if she could help it, namely because she didn't own one. Of course, she didn't plan on ever buying one either; she disliked the idea of constricting clothing and not having places to put her knives. So it was that she had settled instead on a clean pair of rather regular clothes; though they were a tad dressier than what she'd normally wear. She didn't care if others thought she wasn't being girly enough, she was happy as she was.
One of these days you'll get all prettied up, won't you Mine? Like for dancing! You can't dance in pants!. When she argued that men did, the amethyst simply snorted and commented on the gender of his rider. Sighing, Nymari knew arguing was a lost cause. Besides, they weren't dancing right now; they were graduating. She couldn't be expected to wear some silly, frilly dress to graduate! Iyiath listed his head as the call came in and quickly passed on the message to his rider.
Today is the day... It'll be weird, not having to be mentored anymore. The thought saddened her. As much as she disliked her mentor at times, she could no longer deny that she was fond of him. He had become a valued ally and a treasured friend. Ah well, the days of mentoring was behind her, now, when she saw him, it would be as something more equal. She tucked a strand of hair behind her ears as they approached the village center, standing proudly as she looked about.

Oh Mine...Mine...MINE!! "WHAT!?!?" The young green warbled in delighted as he pranced about His' tent. Are you ready yet? Please tell me your ready. I want to gooooo! The overly excited Kinuth, having grown tired of his prancing, stuck his large head into the tent just to see what was taking His so long to get ready. Yelping with shock as the green head came surging through the small tent, O'rik jumped a bit. "Alright already! Geez, you over grown wherry, I'm coming." Glancing over himself one last time, the man pulled a face. He hated dressing up and looking so...clean and orderly. "I feel like a fool." But you look so nice, RikMine. And green, I like the green too. Tugging at his tunic, O'rik finished pulling on his new boots and grudgingly followed his happy little green to where they were told to meet.
It didn't take them long to get there and naturally O'rik sought out a familiar face. If he was going to be miserable at least he could be miserable with some company. IyiathFriend! Kinuth bugled a happy greeting to his pink friend as he eagerly trotted over to the other pair. Do you think we get to wear hats for graduation? O'rik groaned at his dragons question, the insanity had immediately begun it would seem. "Five minutes, Kinuth..five measly minutes is all I ask." Hissing through his teeth, Rik playfully swatted a green leg before glancing over to Nym and giving her a partial nod in greeting. "You look...nice." Oh well done man, very smooth. Mentally kicking himself, O'rik hastily shoved his hands in his pockets. Though she should have known by now he wasn't the most skilled when it came to introductions and greetings.

Finally, finally, the time had come. No more being held back by lack of instruction, no more being relegated to ferrying firestone and flying sweeps, no more being weyrlings. It was time to graduate. B'den couldn't have been happier.
Kohenkyoth was in a grumpy mood, which was unfortunate, but not surprising. She'd been snappish and irritable lately, and even less personable than usual. B'den knew enough to recognize the signs that she would rise soon, and tried not to think about it too much. Instead he turned his attention to other aspects of the future: What place would they take in the Rebellion's wings, and how long would it take them to earn a position as second or third--then, eventually, first--knight? It was exciting, especially after the very interesting meeting they had attended earlier...

There were times Nym forgot her favourite greenrider was a mere weyrling like herself; with his knack for disappearing, his face wasn't often among their chore groups. She saw Kinuth in the crowd, it was hard to miss a full grown dragon after all, but didn't pay the pair much attention until they drew closer; she was rather busy watching Eiko. At his words though, she couldn't help but look over to him, her expression one of complete and utter disbelief. Was he serious? She was basically wearing glorified work clothes!
"If anyone here should be saying that, it's me." She replied, looking him over slowly, almost making a show of it. "You clean up pretty nice, farmboy." She gave a light nod, a smile dancing on her lips. She couldn't help but feel terribly underdressed now, if even O'rik had managed to make himself fancy. Maybe after the ceremony she should try to sneak away and find something a little more decorative than what she currently wore? Nonsense, she mentally shook her head. She didn't need fancy clothes. Instead, she figured she would just play a bit. "Hoping to impress the ladies tonight?"
Iyiath rumbled happily as Kinuth trotted over, giving a quiet bugle in return. Kinuth! Oh bestest buddy! I hope we do! The amethyst wiggled and gave the green a light headbutt before pausing and looking at his friend in confusion. Wait... what's a hat?

He shrugged casually as if his prior statement was completely normal. Besides, what was so wrong in saying someone looked nice? You didn’t have to be all dressed up to be considered nice looking. The greenrider frowned at the thought. Well then, see if he offers up any more compliments tonight! At her words however, he felt his cheeks redden and immediately ducked his head, suddenly becoming very interested in a table where a few gatherfolk were busy setting up. “Yes well…I feel like a fool but Kinuth wouldn’t let me out of my tent until I looked ’nice’, as he put it.” He pulled a face and tugged lightly at his collar, it was clear he was uncomfortable to say the least. Personally, he couldn’t wait for the formal graduation part to be over with and the festivities to begin, at least then he could ditch the nicer tunic in favor of the lighter undershirt he wore beneath it. He was to be a newly titled Rider after all, no one could blame him later on when he got a little wild with the wine and dancing and as much as he hated getting dressed up he wasn’t quite willing to ruin his brand new tunic, marks just don’t grow on trees you know.
O’rik scoffed at her next remark but as he met her eyes he flashed a playful grin. “No, well…maybe one lady in particular. She’ll still have to say yes when I ask her to dance later so we’ll see.” The greenrider tossed a wink her way before turning to see what sort of nonsense their two dragons were going on about. Kinuth chirped and quickly glanced around for a hat. If he did not know then the little green was just going to have to show him. Poor bestest friend didn’t even know what a hat was! A hat is…um, something Ours wear and…uhh, oh! Here! Shuffling over to a nearby table, Kinuth reached out his eager little claws and snatched up a rather large, woven, and decorative basket that was being used to hold fruit, much to the shock of the gatherfolk who were actually setting the table. Dumping the fruit out, Kinuth scooted back to the amethysts side and oh so carefully set the upturned basket on top of his pink companions large head before taking a step back to admire his work. See? A hat!

Was he shy? That was almost... well, far be it for Nym to deny that it was actually rather cute, to see him being bashful. She could still remember the cocky jokes he had made the first time they had met, which made his behaviour now all the more entertaining. She was trying not to smile too much, she really was, but it was hard, especially once he started blaming his dragon for his fancy clothes.
"Well your dragon there has good taste then," She couldn't stop the grin now as she reached out to touch the fabric. Though her hand froze at his comment and she couldn't help but look away to avoid blushing as he winked. "Well aren't you confident, here I thought you might be too shy to dance with a girl." Did she secretly hope he really was referring to her? Perhaps, but she wasn't about to get all happy-excited about it. She wasn't that girly! Her eyes did follow his to the dragons though, and she was quick to throw her palm to her face.
"Ladies and gentlemen.. your graduating dragons..." She mumbled and shook her head at the sight of Iyiath's new accessory. The pink dragon in question had his legs spread wide and his head held low, as if any form of movement would cause his 'hat' to fall off. What a silly thing! Why would anyone wear something that wiggles and falls so easily! This is a trick isn't it? YOU should wear one too, oh but if I move it'll fall! His eyes whirled quickly as he tried to ever so slowly take a step, looking more like a turtle than a dragon as he tried to edge towards another basket.
"Really O'rik.. what have you been teaching that green?"

He chuckled at her comment. Him? Nervous? HA! Though the more he thought about it the more anxious he grew and he was suddenly quite aware of the fact that he had never actually asked a girl to dance before. He paled slightly at the thought before quickly clearing his throat and nervously rubbed at the back of his neck. “Well I’m sure some wine will help with any nerves that happen to pop up later on.” Lots of wine. He added quietly to himself.
O’rik groaned at the sight of the two dragons. He was beginning to think he couldn’t take that green of his anywhere. “Would you believe me if I said I haven’t taught him anything? That he somehow comes up with these little ideas all on his own?” Meanwhile the dragon in question was currently trying to swipe another basket from a different table, only this time an elderly woman was attempting to shoo him away, defending her elaborate table set-up. “Kinuth!” O’rik hissed his dragons name, not quite willing to cause a scene just yet. Looking much like a scolded child, Kinuth dropped his head and quietly trotted over to His where he took a seat, curling his tail around his legs. I was only playing with IyiathFriend. I know, but time and place Kinunth. Plus now that woman looks ready to kill me thanks to you. The emerald green dragon rumbled and gently nuzzled His, his hot breath ruffling the mans hair. Sorry, RikMine. Maybe a hat would make her happy? The man only groaned and hung his head. To think, the night was only getting started.

"Wont the wine make you wobbly on your feet?" She asked with a grin, wondering how much he was planning on drinking. She planned to have a drink or two herself, but for the simple enjoyment of it, rather than for any particular reason. She gave a light chuckle to herself. Was O'rik the type to get himself into trouble with wine? He seemed the troublemaker type anyways, much like his dragon.
"Well he picked you for a reason so you must have some crazy thoughts in that mind to be bonded to him." Nym tossed an arm on his shoulder, leaning against him with a teasing grin and outright chuckling as he tried to get Kinuth to behave. The green really was too humorous, the way he expressed himself. "Poor Kinuth! Your rider never lets you have any fun, does he? What a party pooper!" Iyiath, in the meantime, had slowly worked on making his way over, trying his best not to drop his new accessory. Mere feet away from his destination though, the basket finally wobbled a bit too much and fell to the ground. My hat!! I need it! I can't graduate without iiiiit! He dropped to the ground, huffing and sending a puff of air at the basket.

Despite the fun that the weyrlings were having among the crowd and the general ease, or at least partial ease, that was found in the people that were gathering around the main stage, Eiko was uncomfortable. She hated talking to people on a one on one basis let along crowds. Why was Noita making her do this? Why...why...why....Shut it and start talking! Nimarath's hiss was a rude awakening from Eiko's thoughts, the girl jumping to attention as she looked shakily at the people in front of her. Clearing her throat she tried to remember what she had been practicing for this...and she failed to remember any of it at all.
Must I do everything for you?
The Obsidian let out a high pitched keen, her voice ripping into the air as she alerted that it was time to quiet down. Bringing her wings in against her sides the dark dragoness flicked her tail and settled red and yellow eyes on the crowd, hissing when a young green thought for a moment about talking despite the Sub-Queen saying not to. To make sure that all hear I will be the voice for my rider....We have all come a long way, from all reaches of this world under one purpose. We wanted to create a new home, and that we have started in on....despite it being a little less than perfect at the moment...
Nimarath!
Anyway, we welcome not only our first clutch laid by four....wonderful....Amethysts, but also the graduation of our first Weyrling class brought to us from around Pern. The Darkbloods fly in separate wings now, but they will always remain loyal to each other. Enjoy the festivities, and stay safe today....I'm sure Noita and Sylencath will like to speak now.
Except the Obsidian and Rebel Leader were no where to be found, and instead a cry rang through the darkening sky. Vaguely a shape could be seen running from the tent where Noita and her closest Knights had come together to speak before the meeting, the glint of silver held in the would be assassin's hand. No, someone did die...though not her. Nimarath hissed as she watched Sylencath gather Noita onto her neck and take off into the sky followed by some of her Knights....little did they all know it would be the last they would hear from her for quite a while.
