Everything had to be perfect, in that perfectly non-perfect way of course. The hoops were rigged to blow slightly in the wind so as to cause a dire need for attention, the turns were plotted out to be tight and narrow so that the racers would probably jar against each other in their efforts to win. It was glorious, and it hadn't even begun. Miyaka grinned as she arched her head back, shielding her eyes from the sunlight with one delicately pale hand. "Call them in Coziryth." The bronze snorted, not wanting to be ordered by a female candidate of all people, he didn't even understand why His was always around her.
When the whitehaired healer narrowed her eyes at the large beast however, the bronze simply snorted again and flicked his tail. Abruptly, he flapped one gangly wing outward, sweeping it just above her head before folding it back against his side and flopping onto his side with a heavy sigh. Do you honestly think I'm going to listen to anything you say hatchling? Not flinching in the least, the whitehaired girl shook her head and moved away, her shoulders the only sign of her tense and unease.
S'vrin, please say I can eat her. I'd really like to, it'd be fun even. She'd be a tasty little treat. The rider groaned from his position nearby, the half empty pint sitting on his leg half-hazardly. He didn't open his eyes, just kept his head tilted back and his foot propped against the nearest table to his chair. If you talk again you overgrown flit, I will make you regret it. He already had a headache and wasn't looking forward to dealing with whining brats and upset weyrlings that had dreams of being big shots in the Wings.
Too many classes were graduating at once, however it was partially his own fault. No, Noita's fault. Hers and the rebellion. Finally taking a peak at the world around him, S'vrin grasped the handle of his drink and unfolded his legs. Call them. Let the Wingleaders and Seconds and Thirds be here as well especially. All others are welcome, but the Weyrlings must wait for me to tell them what to do, their teachers should be here as well.
Entirely unhappy that he was being asked to do such a demeaning task as to bring in the wherries of the Weyr, or at least that's how Coziyrth saw it, the bronze finally lifted his head when S'vrin pushed his will into the King's mind. Get your tails down here! The dark King trumpeted into the sky, alerting everyone and anyone, and the following rings and murmurs of Weyr Games and Testing echoed his own call as well as defined it. You insolent Wher when will you learn you shouldn't do that?
Iliath landed heavily next to the bronze, her acid green head snapping a flit length from his tail as she bowed to let Panille slide off. A dark shape glided to the ground nearby, the weyrling looking around for her clutchmates as Akilu hung around under Lorendyth's protective gaze. "Hello Miyaka." The redhead eyed the nearby healer candidate carefully, taking in a controlled breath before petting her dragoness. The girl simply ignored Panille which was fine in her mind in all honestly, but the scowl on S'vrin's face was obvious to both. Too bad, the greenrider though, if you're going to cage two Queens together you can't expect them to behave.
Well, something like that....

S’val stifled a yawn behind his hand before subconsciously adjusting the black cloth that hid his damaged eye from sight. It may have been turns since the terror of the Great Storm and the night he lost his vision in his eye but the bronze rider would probably never get used to, or accept, it. Come now Mine, leave the past where it belongs. I’m allowed to feel annoyed Sol… S’val could feel his companions huff of frustration brush his mind and he glanced up to the Heights to try and spot the bronze.
At least put on a fake smile. The games are starting and with the younglings graduating you need to be in attendance. S’val groaned and rubbed the back of his neck. He had almost forgot about the game and the graduation. With everything that had been going on it had almost slipped his mind, not to mention he hadn’t been paying attention to the Sr Weyrlings enough to know who he wanted for his wing. “Shard it…” Well get down here then… I’ll need your eyes for this too.
Making his way through the gather and after stopping at the dinner tent and picking up a fresh cup of wine, S’val reached the field where the trials were already set up and in place. Solarith landed off to the side and rumbled lowly to His before S’val walked over and fondly patted the scarred maw.
Thormyth landed a few moments later, front and center as all eyes should have been on him anyways, before allowing Vl’kan to slide down. Finally, Vl’kanMine, a chance to show these fools who’s rightful place is at the top. The garnet growled lowly even as he moved to roughly, yet somewhat affectionately, head butt his rider in the side. Vl’kan, remained silent as he eyed the field and the obstacles and simply gave the crimson dragon a small pat on his leg.

Braymoth lifted his head as he listened to the call. It's about time, the red dragon grumbled, slowly getting to his feet with a call to his rider. That the trials were today was no surprise, they had been told at the practice that this would be happening, so Yufa was already dressed and ready to go and Braymoth had been oiled to a glossy sheen. Sure, these trials would be showing off their skills, but looking good never hurt either.
It didn't take long before they were spiralling down to join the other Weyrlings, few as they were so far. They landed near Lorendyth making sure to keep some distance from the other garnet pair. Yufa dropped down from his neck and moved to stand beside Braymoth, offering a dip of her head to the ranking riders around them, as well as to the other weyrlings, though she couldn't stop the awkward blush as she greeted Akilu.
Lamb of mine, we are here to woo the audience with our skill, not act like sharding hatchlings. I will not be shown up today because of your foolishness. He gave her a quick whack with his tail to make sure she was listening.
Kayath trumpeted happily as she and J'dol backwinged to land with the wingleaders. Though Hers would not be selecting weyrlings to join their wing, he was expected to oversee the games, not to mention he wanted to keep tabs on those troublemaking wingleaders. Oh J'dolMine, look at how stunning those weyrlings are! Kayath crooned at the males who had gathered, as well as the adults who had gathered.
Do well cuties! I'll be watching! She flicked her wings back. She would watch for now... but once these games were over all eyes had better be on her once more. J'dol rolled his eyes as he dismounted, saluting the gathered wingleaders.

Ka'mond took a seat, watching with fierce jealousy at the other weyrlings. He watched Abyrath settle away from the other dragons, and he touched her mind. "We won't be rejected much longer.. just wait. We'll shoe everyone." He thought, smiling grimly. He would watch, learn and take note. The graduating riders looked impressive, dragons oiled, outfits clean and pressed. it looked fun, exciting.

Akira attempted to calm her over-active nerves for the second time that day. She was more than ready to get this graduation done and over with. It is fine Kikimine, we will be fine. Oridith turned and looked at his rider as he spoke. He crooned as she walked over to him and lay against his side. I know Ori, but that doesn’t mean I’m not gonna worry about it. What if we mess up? Not being able to graduate was something that had been haunting the young woman’s dreams. We can do this Kikimine. Now come, it is time to go. Her dragon’s deep voice was a small comfort in a sea of worries. But she did as he said and got everything ready for the upcoming graduation games. After taking a few calming breaths, she climbed up onto her dragon’s neck, and held on tight.
Oridith landed near the back of the small group that was forming, just as his rider had wanted him to do. Akira didn’t like putting on a show, and was doing her best to just blend in for as long as she could. The fact that she was going to be attempting to graduating soon by actually putting on a show, wasn’t sitting well with her. Can we just get this over with. She looked around at all the people that were starting to gather, and wished the day was already over with. Oridith just rumbled with amusement at his rider’s thoughts and gently nudged her with his nose. It will be over soon enough Kikimine. He kept his words between himself and his rider, but crooned a greeting to everyone else that was already there, after all, he might be their wing mate soon.

Quiet down now, everyone listen over here. You will be put into groups of three, and you will be made to go through the obstacle course. There will be sudden drops, turns, loops, and objects that will come at you. Do your best to show off the best of your skills. The first group to go is Green Lorendyth with Rider Akilu, Garnet Braymoth with Rider Yufa, and Blue Oridith with Rider Akira. Get to the starting line, get set.......GO!
Lorendyth hissed as she lept from the ground, her wings taking her into the air high above, heading for the first obstacle. The hoops were hung in different manners, some lower and some higher, and at the slightest touch against a wing or tail-tip they would move. Growling as one slipped as she slid through, the green hovered to gain her balance and dove toward the next one. Akilu held on, her mind constantly split between watching for other objects and talking to her dragoness.
She didn't know where the other two were, it didn't matter. All that she cared about was before her, and beneath her. We can do it Loren! The green snorted, twisting between two pillars and flying sideways for a moment before leveling out on the other side and plummeting away from the wall that was only a Gold's length ahead. S'vrin and his riders had made this course difficult, more so even than ones from previous turns had been. It would not be easy.

For such a big occasion, R'hard was much calmer than he thought he'd be. He stood tall beside Kaith, who was--as ever--mildly annoyed at having to put in the effort to do well, but otherwise taking things in stride. They'd trained well and long for this, and he was sure the both of them were ready.
He looked at the hoops and obstacles above, analyzing them almost habitually for the best ways to swerve and dive through the course with minimal effort, even if he didn't know the exact course they would be given yet. Beside him, Kaith yawned, unimpressed.
Three other riders were chosen to go first, so R'hard and Kaith just sat back to watch them run through the obstacle course, hoping to maybe pick up a few tips along the way.
Hirion, on the other hand, had more than enough nerves to make up for R'hard's lack of them. The normally fearless girl was wracked with doubts now that the big day had finally come. After this, they would be considered full dragonriders in all ways. Despite her nervousness, there was a sense of excitement as well--one which Ferrth eagerly picked up on, if the incessant twitching of the blue's tail was anything to go by.
He was feeling a bit more confident than Hirion at the moment, flexing his wings in preparation as they waited for the event to start. I hope we get to go soon. I want to show them what we can do, Ferrth said as the first three riders took off.

Thormyth did not bother holding back the displeased growl as three others were chosen to go up and go through the course before him. He was supposed to be first. The best. Undeniably brilliant. He tossed his head back and snorted. That should be us Vl'kanMine. Why were they chosen first? Are we not fantastic?
Vl'kan remained silent though his partners quiet cursing even though he was slightly annoyed at having to wait as well. They had trained for this, they were ready. They should have been one of the first if not the first to take to the air. Just wait Thor, our time is coming.
________
S'val leaned back against his dragons leg and raised one hand to shield his eye from the sun as he looked up to watch the first set of competitors. So far so good. Everything was going smoothly and fairly average it seemed. Hold your judgments Mine, they have only just begun. Solarith rumbled lowly before lifting his head to watch the younglings take on their final test. [/font]

Hurry, Banemith! The Games are starting! G'daro called to his dragon as he pushed his way through the crowds. He really wanted to graduate and become a rider, but the crowds were thickening. Banemith was right behind him, gently nudging his way through with his front feet. Fizgig and Bellatrix were on G'daro's shoulders, hanging on with a vice-like grip.
The group arrived and G'daro groaned. the Games started without them! Banemith lowered his head to his rider's level, begging for his eyeridges to be scratched. G'daro rubbed his hand on his eyeridges and Banemith crooned. Now all they had to do was wait for their turn.

Braymoth twitched his tail as Yufa mounted up, the instructions given quickly and precisely. Your analysis, dear rider? Yufa gave a mental frown, ensuring her visible expression remained as calm and neutral as possible. They had flow with the two smaller dragons before, though now that the moment was upon them Yufa was beginning to feel doubts about their abilities. Braymoth shook slightly to get his rider back to attention. Lorendyth is swift and agile, she will likely be the best of our group to do the quick turns and maneuvers needed at the more difficult sections. Oridith has more staying power and less maneuverability but will still have an easier size than us due to size advantage. Braymoth noddedhis affirmation, adding in his own thoughts here and there. We need to appear as the best of them. I won't accept being in a pathetic wing. Yufa took a deep, calming breath and glanced at the other two. As the largest of the three, Braymoth had placed himself in the front end of the tiny wing, as was generally customary. You have the stamina to outlast them, but their speed will make keeping up through the twists hard. We need to pull ahead slightly before the obstacles to make up for the distance we'll lose during them. Above and beyond their ability to do the acrobatics, they also needed to show their ability to work within a wing; Displaying their teamwork was Yufa's goal for this. There were sections of the course that were meant for only one dragon at a time, but for any teamwork section they had had their plan. At the command, Braymoth lifted off, working hard to gain speed right off that bat; Lorendyth was a quick dragon. For the beginning of the course, which seemed to be focused o single dragon maneuvering, Braymoth fell in behind Lorendyth. He kept his eyes on the dragoness as Yufa watched the obstacles, the two communication constantly. Bryamoth left enough room between himself and the green to take an accruate reading of when she began her movements so Braymoth could do the same at a farther distance; he needed more time for the sharp turns after all. Some of the obstacles were small and Braymoth growled deeply as his wings brushed them, not knowing how he was supposed to fit his body through spaces seemingly meant for smaller dragons. Some of the distances were tough to deal with as well, especially the ones that required sharp turns that simply weren't in the garnets arsenol. Yufa winced as the cold of between enveloped them during a particularly difficult twist. Their only option for making it was to use the ability to teleport and change their direction... hopefully that broke no rules.
