"Inali asked for me to watch her while she went to the village with Kytrie. I promised to baby-sit....no Nimarath, that doesn't mean you should be getting ideas from that, bad very bad idea."
No, great idea. The twerp needs to learn not to talk to me.
Twerp hear MeanPoopooHead!
Inoria put her hands to her hips, a little scowl on her young face making Eiko laugh despite herself. Only the child could get her to really relax and just laugh, only she could really get her to melt her frigid exterior and just act, well, human. Ignoring the growing Obsidian completely when she started hissing at her, the young four turn old started splashing in the shallows of the ocean water, the afternoon sun starting to sink into that of the evening.
For once it wasn't raining, haven done so early that day. Despite it starting to get into the Monsoon season, it was getting there slowly after that first day it dropped out the bottom. Never mind the weather though, Eiko had bigger things on her plate to worry about, like Nymari's group of unsatisfied rebels...and the others that were rumored to have popped up recently. Noita had not said anything about them yet, and she had officially made the announcement about the gather and graduation at Rindell Village that morning, but something was bound to be happening sooner or later.
Which, was why she needed to talk to D'sel. He was her only true ally in all of this, at least the only one that she deemed useful. Inali and Kytrie had their own plans, ones that involved her but they did hardly any better at clueing her in than Noita herself did. Still, at least they understood what she wanted it seemed, though to be honest since the meeting with Nymari's group Eiko was starting to like the Amethystrider better. The point of all this, especially the letter she had sent to D'sel with Amy, was that she needed to know she could trust him. She needed to know that she could talk to him about this and confide in him.
Looking over her shoulder the weyrling, almost full-fledged rider now, sighed and shook her head trying to not think of the last time she had seen the Garnetrider. It had been in private when he had come to her little hole in the mountain and.....well, what had happened had better stay between them. Hopefully. She had tried to lie to herself before, tell herself that they had only just talked that night about her fears and her misunderstandings, but well that was a lie. That was the point. There was no way she wanted to think of what happened, and hopefully he wouldn't bring it up....hopefully. Either way, she had brought a little wine to entice him with...or get him tipsy enough to actually hope to go along with what she had planned in this whole ordeal.
GET AWAY FROM ME YOU INTOLERABLE THING!
Nimarath!
SHE'S DRIVING ME INSANE, GET HER OUT OF MY HEAD! By Faranth how can anything be this, this, this...annoying?
Hissing the Obsidian snapped her tail in defiance of it all, glaring red eyes at the tiny girl who was rocking on her heels and giggling. Pulling her away from the dragoness, Eiko laughed along with her, falling onto the sands in a heap as she hugged Inoria. "Well done 'Ria."

As was typical, D'sel was taking his evening run along the beach. He was barefoot and shirtless, in nothing but a pair of short, cut-off breeches. Sweat beaded his muscled body, giving him a slick look in the evening light. His feet left prints in the sand as he jogged along, but they were soon washed away by the rough surf that bordered their Rindell Island home.
He was running, as he did every night, so no one would suspect him of anything. The letter that had arrived with Eiko's firelizard Amy made it clear that secrecy was rather important, especially after Nymari's stand in the mountains, which, despite Eiko moderately approving of, D'sel did not enjoy or approve of one bit. He agreed that things needed to change, but... he didn't like the way Nymari and K'dri were going about it.
Shaking his hand, his damp, sweaty hair falling across his eyes, he sighed and jogged onwards. As he made his way down the beach, he saw Nimarath's form appear out of the darkness that was slowly gathering. Slowing down to a quick walk, he watched as Emiath, who had been flying above him in lazy circles, folded his wings and landed gracefully next to the Obsidian. D'sel smiled as he approached.
"Good evening, Eiko," he greeted cordially, completely ignoring the fact that he was shirtless and covered in sweat. Emiath snorted from his place next to Nimarath, which only made the rider grin more. "How are you?"

'Ria no annoying. 'Ria awesome Dragontalker! 'Ria know MeanPoopieHead like 'Ria....all Dragons like 'Ria....eventually.
The girl giggled as she talked to the Obsidian who simply flicked her tail and nudged Emiath with a hiss and snap of her jaws. Kill that thing. The red tinged swirling in her eyes narrowed and expanded as she looked from the Garnet to the girl and then back again, a shriek escaping her gritted fangs as she lashed her tail behind her. She's annoying. Shrieking again the Obsidian nipped at Emiath's neck, not too hard, but enough to explain exactly how terrible she was finding the girl.
"Oh shut up you. Inoria is not that bad." Eiko chuckled as she turned her head, waving at D'sel and entirely aware that she was blushing despite not wanting to. Instead of looking at him any longer, she turned her head back toward Inoria and kissed the top of the girl's head, nudging her along toward the two dragons. "Go play, don't worry they won't hurt you. I need to talk to D'sel for a bit." Her blue eyes shifted slightly as she looked at Inoria's and she only straightened when the little girl nodded and skipped over without fear to the large duo.
'Ria say 'ello to BigRedThing. Hmmmr...no, not BigRedThing.......RAWR! Yes, 'Ria call you RAWR because you all RAWRy and stuff...yep, yep!
Eiko took in a deep breath, her eyes closing as she settled her nerves and held out the bottle of wine for the other rider. "Here, trust me you'll need it as much as I do...we're talking politics." Looking at him for a moment she let her eyes linger over his face, his shoulders, his arms....gulping Eiko pulled her eyes from his body and gritted her teeth. "And if you say a word about the other night D'sel I will personally put a dagger through your chest."
