T’ris and his Opal weyrling Widelmath hadn’t had a day to themselves since Threadfall had started. Widelmath was now old enough, and big enough, to help bring the older dragons sacks of firestone, and they had even started helping the healers. As worrisome as the two turn old dragon could be, he had been surprisingly good with the injured dragons and riders, something his young rider was very surprised by. Either way today they had a chance to rest, and catch up on some much needed relaxation that they seemed to be missing out on. So now the young opal pair was resting quite peacefully in the warm baths. I can’t wait till Threadfall is over. He winced slightly as he spoke and rubbed at his sore shoulder, an injury he had gotten after trying to help lift an injured rider that was just too big for him.
Yes Mine, but do you think that anything serious will happen this time? Widelmath’s shaky voice had started to get louder as he spoke, and his rider was quick to calm him. I don’t think so Wid, I think we have some very great pairs up there. T’ris had swam over to where Widelmath now had his off-white, mossy green, grey-blue, and soft purple muzzle resting on the edge of the bathing pool. He scratched lightly up the small dragon’s muzzle to finally scratch lovingly at dragon’s eye-ridges. Widelmath crooned softly as he relaxed into his rider’s touch with a soft sight. T’ris smiled at his strange little dragon that seemed to always worry about what might happen to everyone else around him. At least he wasn’t voicing his worries out-loud now.
