It was in a cave, quite a ways from the Rebel camp, where Nymari was currently lying in wait. For the past sevenday or so, she had gotten Iyiath to bespeak other dragons, trying to find those that might support her cause. Those that showed potential had been given the location for this meeting, but Nymari couldn’t help but feel something might go wrong. What she wanted to do… if word got out too soon she would be in a lot of trouble. Would it be worth it? She sincerely hoped so.
Things needed to change. That was the gist of it. For a Rebellion, they sure hadn’t been doing anything rebellious in nature. Oh sure, a couple riders went out now and again to show off activity and give the illusion that the Rebellion had strength and skill and such, but if it was accomplishing anything it was only causing Trelis to laugh at them. No, Nym was here to fight for Iyiath’s rights as a dragon, not sit around waiting for an attack that would never come. This place was becoming no different than Fort. Someone needed to take a stand, that was that.
What could a girl on a small amethyst do though? Collect followers of course. That was the first step. Keep an eye out, Iye. The others will hopefully be arriving soon. You are still hidden? Through trial and error she had managed to concoct a pain of sorts to cover Iyiath’s pink hide, rendering the amethyst a dark, almost black green in the hopes of keeping him concealed in the trees not far from the cave. She herself stayed in the shadows, wanting to see those who entered clearly before they saw her.
Slowly, silently, she reached out to her side, intent on resting her hand on K’dri’s arm for a moment. She was crazy for doing this… she was putting herself, Iyiath, and others at risk. Her nervousness would be felt through her touch, if K’dri had stayed where she thought he was. She dare not speak yet, for fear that words would escape her.

Things needed to change. The "Rebellion" was a complete and total joke. Nothing happened. Ever. The intent of the Rebellion had been to give mutated dragons a chance, and yet they weren't fighting. They weren't fighting for the dragons like Iyiath, that wouldn't be accepted anywhere else.
And they weren't any different than their enemy: Trelis. Riders were given high positions of power based on nothing but the color of their dragon's hide. It was wrong. Some men were simply not suited to rule, (or some women), and they were expected to because their dragon was born with a ranking hide, despite the fact that a greenrider might rule better than a goldrider, or a blue better than a bronze.
So they planned. In the cover of darkness, they planned. Nymari would fight for her mutant dragon, and K'dri would fight for her, and for a taste of blood, and for change. Their plans started small, but soon escalated. Now, they were crouched in the bushes, waiting for those that Iyiath and Myth had spoken to to arrive... if any actually showed up, that is. K'dri almost doubted that any would, out of fear of punishment, but then he thought about the wrongs of the Rebellion, and felt heartened.
He was concentrated on the entrance of the cave, and jumped when Nymari rested a hand on his arm. K'dri could feel her unease, but he did not speak. If even one rider showed up, or one wher handler, it would be worth it. But until then... Stay hidden, Myth, and keep a wary eye. One hand gripped one of his many daggers, more for comfort than anything, while his other rested on Nymari's shoulder.
This would work. It had to.

They might only be a green and her rider, but at least now they would be able to actually do some good and be of some help. The bright, flower pattered green had told her about the plan to rebel against the current way things were run in the Rebellion, and had easily convinced her rider that it would be better to help them then try and pretend that nothing was wrong. So this is what had brought the two of them to where they were now. Guinevere gulped the scared lump that had started to form in her throat as she held on tightly to her dragon as Kimieth took her to where they were all to meet up. She was hoping that doing this was the right thing to do, but it was too late for them to turn around now. So when Kimieth stopped walking she figured that they had either found the place, or found whomever was to take them to where the meeting was actually taking place. She couldn’t help the scared feeling in the pit of her stomach that something was going to go wrong, that maybe this wasn’t a friendly person, but instead wanted to do them harm.
(((OOC: I'll add the others one by one until all that I want are here.)))

Are you positive? I'm as positive as my hide is red. The dragon paused. I am red right?
Roxikanta would have laughed, but she was worried. Her silly dragon had the memory of an amethyst at times, and she prayed it wouldn't be so now.
She settled into place on her Garnet's back, holding to his neck. Lets go. Better now then never.
Yes, they were a high ranking pair. Rox knew the hardships the mutations dealt with. She wanted it to stop. Just like when people looked at her Auerosth and thought 'Oh, he's a Garnet. He is bloodthisty and dangerous...'
It annoyed and saddened her. No more. No, she and Auerosth would fight for this.
They circled three times, carefully dropping just outside the cave. The red head had a dagger as well, but she did not want to use it....
Neither said a word now. Hide and wait.

I still don't understand why we have to do this. This is ridiculous, they should know better than to have made such a message. That little green didn't keep it to herself long.
Yes, well you did make her tell you my dear Nim.
It was her idea, her little brat is moving around again.
Eiko looked over her shoulder at where the dragonless woman and her daughter were riding Nimarath as well, Inali's voice a composed point of nothingness whereas her child was simply unhappy. Nimarath and Inoria never had gotten along well, but as much as the Obsidian wouldn't want to admit it, the girl was something special to her. She's trying to talk to me again.... Just ignore her then. Eiko sighed, looking around for the telltale sign of the meeting place that she had gotten from the green Nimarath had interrogated.
Were they here because they were snitching? Oh no, of course not. Little Eiko was sick of it as much as her "followers" were, and under the oh so careful ministrations of her new friends, well things were going to change. We are here. Landing with a thud, the Obsidian bent in her wings against her sides, the Sub-Queen lowered her head and let her riders slip off, nudging Eiko's back as a well-wisher. "Stay here Nim...be good." "We must go, come now Lieutenant, it's time to start a war." Inali's voice was a hushed tone as she pulled Eiko's attention away from her dragoness.
Pulling her shoulders back, the girl walked into the cave, but a smaller form raced past first with a mumbled curse on her mother's lips. "Hello everybody!" Inoria's young voice was the first to greet the little group of rag-tag rebels, the four, almost five, turn old smiling from ear to ear. Don't worry Dragons, we're here to help. We want to help. Her mind reached out to the individuals that had come here, an inviting gentleness in her tone. "Good girl, now sit there and be good." Inali looked from her daughter to a rock nearby where she waited until the girl was firmly planted on it before looking back up.
Eiko simply stood there and stared, wondering just what to say first.

B'den had first joined the Rebellion because he thought the rebels didn't care about the color of a dragon's hide, unlike the high-rankers at Trelis, but he was beginning to think he'd been wrong. Whether they were golds and bronzes or obsidians and garnets, the larger and higher-ranking dragons still seemed to be in control of everything. After all, was there a blueriding first knight, or a greenriding second knight? No, they were still the bottom of the heap, except they'd been joined by ebonies and amethysts.
It didn't take much convincing to bring Kohenkyoth around to his way of thinking. She wasn't stupid, despite the stereotype for greens, and she'd seen how things were going (or not going) at Rindell. Even the important positions of General and Commander were going unfilled and why? Because they were waiting for flights. As if that somehow proved how worthy they were to lead. Sometimes she wished she'd been born a male just so she'd be able to chase, at least, since she couldn't clutch.
So the two of them showed up where that green had told them to go, a little bit late, perhaps, but he'd wanted to make sure nobody had seen them go or decided to follow them. He stepped inside, raising a brow skeptically at the appearance of the obsidianrider and her companions. Really, was this any sort of place to bring a child?

The silence stretched on for what felt like ages. Perhaps no one would come; no one would stand against the wrongdoings of the Rebellion. It was disheartening, if only because Nym was rash enough to try anyways, regardless of whether she had allies or not. Despite being rash though, Nym was incredibly cautious when it came to trusting others, especially here. The Rebellion was made up of many who simply wanted to fight, to kill. Dragon against dragon... a part of her felt the idea was very wrong, yet another reminded her then that, for the sake of freedom, sacrifices needed to be made. Either way, Nym stayed hidden, waiting for Iyiath to give some sign that someone, something would come.
The first was a green. Iyiath's voice was a loud explosion of excitement in her mind as he announced the arrival of Kimieth. A greenrider, not a mutant. Was her rider here to scout them out and report back to the leaders, or was she here because she believed in the cause? Nym wouldn't trust any of the riders that showed up; they were planning a mutiny after all. Well that was a lie; she had two riders she trusted. The bluerider beside her, and the greenrider O'rik. The others though... Their little ragtag group would be made up of backstabbers and killers, and she wouldn't trust a single one, but if they got the job done then Nym could care less. Iyiath finally spoke to Kimieth, on Nymari's orders. Greetings friend? He asked, his voice uncertain as he felt the lack of trust from His. Your bright hide will draw much attention. You best find a place to hide while Yours goes inside the cave.
Nymari was pleased. One person had shown up, that meant more could be on the way. Greens, Blues, Ebonies, Amethysts... They of the lower ranks would band together and fight for what they believed in. Equality would be theirs! The next announcement from Iyiath made her spirits drop though. A garnet? Below a brown but above the rest of them. Was it the Garnet that seemed so close to the leaders? She sent another warning to stay down. The idea of such a high ranked dragon here worried her, but she could hardly preach equality then turn away a high ranked dragon. Besides, if the rider turned out to be an ally they would certainly be able to put a garnet's strength to use! To her as well, Iyiath reached out and told Aeurosth to hide and Roxikanta to enter the cave. Still hidden, Nym waited for the riders to enter, wanting to get a good look at them before they saw her. [colord830ba]Nimarath comes! He warned, wiggling deeper into the shadows as the large dragoness swooped overhead.
"Shit!" Nymari hissed under her breath, one hand immediately finding her dagger as her other clenched against K'dri's, positive that he knew of the obsidian's arrival as well. She watched the cave entrance warily, but was hardly expecting a child to show up! Was she a hostage of some sort, a threat to make this little ragtag group disband right off the bat? She's in my mind! She's invading my mind! The amethyst panicked outside and Nym had to force her will to make him calm down and pass on the message. A girl who could speak to dragons - no, a girl who could force herself into the unwilling minds of dragons – the thought made Nym nervous. Could she glean information from the dragons she spoke to? Is that how Eiko had discovered this? She was a dangerous brat to have here, but there was nothing that could be done about it now. Ah, she had heard of this girl; the daughter of the now dragonless ex-weyrwoman of Trelis. This screamed trouble.
Finally, she stepped out of the shadows, meeting the eyes of everyone who was there, including the last minute addition of B'den. It was nerve-wracking, what she was doing. A Holdgirl from the North trying to take charge of a band of backstabbers to take over a Rebellion? It was madness! Even so, she would give it her best shot; after all, this was simply a new challenge and Nym was not one to back down, ever.
"What brings you to our humble little party, Eiko?" Nymari spoke first to Eiko, using no title to show that here, in this cave, they were all equals. "And with a child no less?" She gave a look of dislike towards Inali, wondering why any mother would even consider putting a child of her age in a dangerous situation. A few Turns older, would have been a little more believable, but the girl looked no more than four Turns, five at best! Either the girl was some sort of bargaining tool, or the dragonless woman really was a fool. An unstable fool at that, most likely. Regardless, Nymari had a job to do. She couldn't waste any more time dwelling on idiotic parenting.
"Why did we join the Rebellion, my friends? To protect our bondeds? To escape the unfair treatment of the differently coloured, the strangely gendered and the other ‘mutants’? To rise above the hierarchy of the Weyrs and prove that we of the 'lesser' dragons are just as capable?" She took a deep breath and looked at the low ranked riders in the room, hoping they shared her desires, and continued. "We were promised equality here, a chance for a new life, a chance to fight for what is rightfully ours! A free world, where we are judged not by the appearance of our dragons, but by the skills we possess!" She turned her stare onto Eiko then.
"Yet the life we live here is no different than back home. Obsidians and bronzes lead us once more, and for what? Our 'leaders' sit on their arses doing nothing as we are picked off, one by one. We are sitting ducks out here because the men and women 'best meant to lead us' were given office only because of their dragons hide. I say its time things change." She paused, this was the part that would get them into trouble, if there was someone here who was nothing more than a spy. Her hand played with the hilt of one of her knives, more for comfort than as a hint of what she planned, though the message would likely be heard anyways.
"It is time the Rebellion got a new leader."

K'dri was pleased when the first showed up. A green, not a mutant... but a lower ranking dragon none the less. K'dri was sure that this rider probably felt the same anger at hide-colour translating to leader or follower. Who ever said a green couldn't lead? And be better at it than a gold? K'dri bared his teeth, his grip loose on Nymari's shoulder.
Myth nodded to Iyiath, his own hide blending in rather nicely with the foliage around them. He is right, Myth said to Kimieth. Hide yourself well, for we do not want to be found by those who would quell our fire. K'dri grimaced. Indeed, they did not. If Zi'axe heard of this, or Noita herself... was there anyone he and Nymari could trust besides each other? After all, they were rebelling inside the Rebellion... a dangerous act.
Pleased that a green had shown, K'dri was shocked when a garnet appeared, but Iyiath gave the message for Roxikanta to enter the cave, and for Aeurosth to hide. If the rider wasn't here as a spy, the dragon would be very useful, and perhaps the rider, too. As a sub-king rider, she had access to all the upper members of the Rebellion... and could possibly get them in to some places they wouldn't be able to get to otherwise. They could be possible allies... if they weren't here to rat them out.
At Iyiath's cry to Nymari, Myth called the same message to K'dri. Nimarath approaches! K'dri swore violently under his breath. He turned to check that Myth, Iyiath, and the other arrivals were hidden, but was blasted in his mind by his dragon so forcefully that he covered his ears in a vain attempt to block Myth's rage. The child is in my mind! The child, the child! GET OUT! Were it not for K'dri's hold on the blue, Myth would have roared and screamed and fought to get the child out of his head. As it was, he flared his wings, accidentally knocking one into Iyiath in his rage.
K'dri snarled, following Nymari from the shadows. He had killed in cold blood before, and doubted he would mind murdering a child as dangerous as this one. A child no more than four turns that could force herself into the minds of unwilling dragons was a dangerous thing. However, if she could control the dragons, too... Well, the child would either have to be killed, or be forced to do as they commanded, under punishment of death. K'dri would have no qualms about murdering that child.
The bluerider smirked as Nymari gave no title to Eiko, indicating that here, they were equals. Standing beside his slim companion, he rested a hand on one of his numerous daggers. Even a rebellion within a Rebellion could not be trusted. K'dri's eyes flicked to Nymari, and noted the obvious dislike she felt towards Inali. The bluerider shared the sentiment, but ignored his feelings as Nymari carried on.
All the points she hit on were true. They had come here to be equals, and yet the dragons of higher coloured hides rose to power, and those lesser dragons were despised and looked down on for their colour. It wasn't right, to be judged simply by the color of the dragon's hide, and not the rider's skills. Standing next to Nymari, almost as a guard, though he knew full well that the Weyrling could protect herself, K'dri nodded, also turning his chilly gaze to Eiko.
He almost laughed as Nymari continued. It was all true, however. The Rebellion leaders did nothing, and they were being picked off one by one. Soon, Trelis will have won, and there would be no Rebellion... unless something changed. At Nym's pause, K'dri brushed against her, urging her on, giving her strength. "It is time the Rebellion got a new leader." There is was. The statement that would mean their heads if anyone here was a spy.
"And we don't mean you, Eiko of Obsidian Nimarath. Your dragon's hide colour means nothing here, and you have shown your distaste for leadership. We mean someone strong, someone with an aptitude to lead. Someone who will fight for the lesser dragons and lead us to victory."

Eiko gave an equally cold look to those that gave her one, her body tensing and her fingers itching for the blade hidden in her tunic to be in her hands. "Relax, I am not here to give you away. I want our leader as dead as you surely do. I'm here to help you in any way I can. I don't want to be in charge of anything, I hate that I have to be here. I came here to protect myself and Nimarath and I was used by a woman who was paranoid of those she promised to help. I only want to be somewhere safe where I don't have to worry about someone stabbing me in the back anymore."
She let her words sink in, the spite making its way to her voice, entirely unlike her normal cold and aloof character. "I've come to help and to give you any intel about affairs you don't know...though there isn't much since Noita is not willing to tell me much. I haven't exactly been cooperative with her as she wishes. Inali knows her old home's plans and that of the other Weyrs, and her daughter can hear any dragon she wishes. We only brought Inoria so that you could see it for yourself."
The girl smiled, her feet rocking under her as she withdrew from the minds of the dragons that were outraged by her sudden intrusion. " 'Ria not mean harm. 'Ria only say hello." Her mother looked at the group again, nodding to Nymari as she seemed the one in charge. "My Loraketh gave birth to many of the new colors and we wanted to make a home for them. What Trelis has done to harm the rebellion was not because of my leadership, she was dead by then. I despise my home for what it has done. The old ways must go, just as the leadership of this so called Rebellion must be changed. Who says that a fighter cannot command just as well as a Queenrider? My own mother rode a green and she would have made a far better Wingleader than the Bronze who commanded them. You're problem is getting those people into positions of power. Eiko can help by putting them in charge as Second and Third Knights. Gain power, and gain intel, then strike the heart herself and take Noita and her First Knights down."

Kimieth was shivering slightly, not from being cold, but from excitement. It was because of her excitement that she nearly squeaked when she finally heard the amethyst’s voice. Yes, we are friends! Her tail was twitching so bad that she might have well just have wagged it. Take it easy Kimieth, don’t want to draw too much attention. Guinevere’s voice was soft as she lightly patted her dragon, and climbed down the green’s foreleg. Yes, I shall hide now! The little green dragon walked off happily into the dark forest while her rider cautiously walked towards the cave her green had told her about. Once inside she stood off to the side, shyly watching the others while her green sat somewhere outside crooning happily to herself. We all help! Was the green’s overjoyed answer to Inoria’s words. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Skye wasn’t sure why she had even given her dragon a second glance when the green had mentioned this little meeting. But none of that mattered now for they were already very close to where Kivith had said they were supposed to be. I hope you’re right about this. The normally calm and collected young woman was suddenly feeling quite shy and nervous. Kivith on the other hand was quite happy about their decision to join, and when she sensed a familiar presence, knew she had made the right choice in convincing her rider to come. What was the harm in at least trying right? Come now Mine, don’t be that way. Kivith crooned to her rider as she began to back-wing to land near the meeting place. All Skye could do was pray that she hadn’t let her dragon lead her into something she was going to regret.

Kohenkyoth was quick to do what she'd been told and slipped away once B'den was off her back. She kept a close watch on the dragons coming in from her hiding spot, while B'den talked to the other riders. He nodded his head as Nymari talked. Honestly, she didn't really say much he hadn't already thought himself, and there was little he didn't agree with. Certainly, he agreed with the fact that the Rebellion was in need of a new leader, though he hadn't quite yet put together the fact that Nymari was talking about forcing that change through violence.
K'dri was the next to speak up, and B'den met his words with a smile. He wouldn't mind it at all if B'den was the leader they chose...he certainly considered himself a worthy leader. He didn't think it likely, though. He wasn't the one who'd called this meeting together, after all, and he didn't know many of the other rebels present, certainly not well enough to get them on his side. Ah well, he was young yet, and Kohenkyoth still a weyrling, if close to graduation. He could afford to wait, and prove himself.
At first he just sat back and listened to what other people had to say, but finally he decided it was time for him to speak up. "I don't have anything against the mutations, though I ride a green," he said. "I do agree that the lower ranks, whether they're new colors or old, aren't getting the sort of recognition we deserve, and I'm willing to do whatever I can to help change that. I aspired to be a First Knight, and with Noita in charge, I'm not sure I buy that Kohenkyoth and I have a chance."
The green grumbled quietly in agreement from outside, and soon she contacted B'den privately. Someone new comes, Mine...and I think you'll want to know who it is.
The greenrider nearly did a double-take when he saw Skye, but he tried to hide his reaction. Well, he wasn't expecting that, but if she wanted to be involved, he wasn't going to be the one to stop her.

Roxikanta slid off of Auerosth, hand touching him for a moment before she started for the cave. Her heart was pounding in her chest. It was a shock that she would be here. But... but she understood.
She entered the cave, standing straight and calm. She was prepared for the stares of the group.
"I am Roxikanta, rider of Garnet Auerosth." She glanced at the present riders. Roxikanta couldn't find any other words to say. If she plead to be an ally, that could be more suspicious.
Auerosth settled himself into dense bushes, crouching low to the ground. His hide looked red-black in the dark, and would hide him well.

She leaned, ever so slightly, against K’dri as he urged her on. She couldn’t believe this was happening. Any moment now, one of these riders would reveal that they were supporters of Noita and call in back-up. Any moment now, Nymari would find herself at the mercy of the Rebellion, and yet, nothing happened. For a moment, there seemed to be only silence before the bluerider spoke out against Eiko. While she agreed completely with K’dri, she couldn’t deny that having an obsidianrider fighting for their cause could be helpful, especially if they could put her to proper use. Listening as Eiko spoke, she gave a nod. While she trusted the queenrider less than anyone else in the room, she was still an equal here and deserved as much consideration as the next. Of all the riders gathered there, B’den earned an approving grin from the girl. Excellent, the greenrider was willing to fight for the same thing.
“If we can accomplish what I want to accomplish, if we can take control of the Rebellion, anyone here could become a First Knight, could become anything they prove they are worthy for. I want to see this camp become a place where dragons of any size, shape and colour can work and train and become what they desire. Instead of handing out ranks to anyone with the right coloured hide, we will focus on finding the individuals who have proven themselves worthy of leading.” Taking a moment to think, she rested her hands on the table and looked back at Eiko and her followers.
“I think… if we want to accomplish this we need to focus on the goal. For the time being, let Noita focus on the Weyrs while we give our attentions to taking over the camp. The Weyrs have been low-key for a while now, and if we’re lucky no one will catch wind of what we want to do and we shouldn’t have to worry too strongly of an attack. At least, not until we start taking action. This will be dangerous… very dangerous.” She looked about the room, trying to meet the eyes of those gathered to see who was and wasn’t afraid of the dangers involved. If this went badly, it could cost them their lives. Her eyes narrowed as Inali spoke. Something about the woman put her on edge, and while Nym wanted to try to consider every idea equally, something about Inali screamed for distrust.
“Every Weyr has wronged us in some way, else we wouldn’t be here.” She replied with a nod. It was true Trelis had been a large source of trouble as far as the mutants went, but Nym hardly believed any one Weyr was more at fault then another. She did agree with Inali’s support of the fighters, but her idea rubbed Nym the wrong way. Though the obvious part of it was what she wanted – fighters in positions of powers – it was the underlying idea that bothered her. Giving away ranks like candy. It was how the bronzers got their ranks, simply being given the position because of their hides. In this case, they would be filling a position to gain intel.
“I will say this now. I will not follow someone who cannot prove themselves to me, and I hope the same is for all of you. I am tired of being commanded by fools who barely know left from right. If you want to lead, prove you can and others will follow you without question.” She narrowed her eyes at Inali again. What was with this woman, did she not realize what Nymari was trying to accomplish? “We need to move quietly for the time being. We need intel, yes, but suddenly placing fighters in charge may very well be a beacon to our intentions. You, however, have plenty of access to intel through Eiko. If you two wish to prove yourselves, become our connection on the inside. It shouldn’t be unusual for you to contact K’dri, Eiko.” After all, K’dri was one of the few fighters to have come into rank here in the Rebellion.
“For the time being, we need to pool our information and see if we can’t come up with a preliminary idea.” She had her own ideas of course, but she would admit that they may not necessarily be the best. No, she wanted to gather ideas and information, to work with these potential allies. She wasn’t here to lead them, persay. She didn’t even expect them to follow her unless she proved herself, but she did expect to be able to direct the meeting for the time being.
“We need to know everything we can on the people who lead us. We need to know schedules and habits, likes and dislikes. We need to find out which of the rankers can be converted and which need to be chased off, or… if necessary, killed. The faster we can gather this information, the better. The longer we wait, the more likely it is that someone will catch on. So, my brethren, how might we accomplish this end?” This would be the time for the members of the group to step forward and show her what they had, prove to her that they meant to be part of this. She wanted to know how they would take out the leaders.

When it came to the element of surprise and sneaking about in general, well, O'rik wasn't exactly the most discrete. A snapped twig here, a stone sent bouncing through the grass there. Mainly it was do the young greenriders blatant disregard for his surroundings, or his general lack of caring overall. In the end though, someone would undoubtedly notice the lingering of wine on his breath and place the blame there. He was late and mildly intoxicated, what a fine combination.
Trampling through the brush it didn't take him very long to stumble across the little gathering. Truth be told he wasn't really sure why he had dragged himself out here in the first place, meetings generally bored him and accomplished little to nothing in the end, but he had been promised lots of mischief and general troublemaking would come of this gathering. So his interest had been peaked and had led him here.
Glancing over his shoulder, he looked to the trees where his Kinuth lay in hiding. The dark green dragon blended quite well with his surroundings, though it remained to be seen if he could manage to keep quiet and out of trouble. Nearing the edge of the group, O'rik kept to the side and the shadows, folding his arms over his chest and slouched against the trunk of an old tree near the mouth of the cave. He idly surveyed the bunch, already not holding out much hope that anything would come of this gathering. They can bitch and gripe all they want, which was all good and well, but if none of them had the guts to actually go through with what was being talked about then this would just end up being a big waste of time.
Lifting his eyes from the ground, Rik turned his focus to the one who spoke up. He knew that voice... Peering over the heads of the crowd, his eyes widened slightly as he found Nym to be the one standing at the forefront of the group. Despite himself he found a small, half smile, lifting the corner of his mouth. Of course she would be the one to call them here. She would definitely see things change and stand her ground. He knew that much of her at least. Maybe they could accomplish something here after all.

Eiko listened to Nymari talk, nodding her head so often to show that she agreed with what the other weyrling was saying. Things needed to change, it should be people like that that were in charge of them, not her and some of the others. That much was already clear. Inali simply was deadpan as she listened, her hand on Inoria's shoulder, keeping the child from doing anything. Inoria was smart enough to know that on her own though, she didn't need her mother telling her what to do and what not to do. Despite her tender age she could see she had overstepped some boundary, now if she necessarily cared about that was an entirely different story.
Finally, when Nymari took a break and asked for ideas, Inali stepped forward with the intent of saying something but Eiko stopped her, stepping in front of the older woman and shaking her head at the dark haired lady. "She's right, we can't just hand out positions like that. What I can do however is give you intel about what I can hear, and I can suggest things that might put Fighters into a better light. For instance, there's a Gather that Rindell Village is hosting soon as the place for the Darkblood Graduation and celebration of the new clutch. This is a great time to figure out who is content and who is not, and most importantly who is willing to help. I can listen for any 'ranking' riders as well that might be interested in changing things. I think I know one Garnetrider aside from Rox that may be with us already...."
Except that would be a long and private discussion she had with D'sel, one that could end badly if she were not careful. Still, he had been there for her so far, perhaps again...just this once. "I think we should look toward the unbonded as well though Nymari, they make up a great percentage of this camp, and they are the ones that do a lot of the ground work. They are the ones that go and really befriend the villagers. Work with them, you're working with potential riders and those that the riders trust as well." She looked around the room, her quiet voice growing stronger as she talked, reaching up only at the end to pet the light colored amethyst that popped out of her long hair.
You have a point, but they won't necessarily listen to you my pet. I don't see why you even bother, we could just sneak out as easily as Chahaturth did.
No...I can't. I made a commitment to build a better home for us all. I have to help in whatever way I can.
