A Trelis Rider had been grounded at the Rebellion camp due to his Dragon having a broken wing. Aela did not know who it was yet as she had not seen this rider. Though it was not long before there was a Clutch on the Rebellion Sands. On odd twist of fate in her opinion. "Come Tal. Let us go see this Rider and his Dragon."
Very well mine. We both gave up our home and you are curious about two of their own?
"Oh hush. Trelis is our home no matter where we are. You know very well this is only temporary until this useless battle ends. I know a certain Brownrider who doesn't mind that I ride an Obsidian." Aela glanced at her beautiful purpley Dragon.
Yes. Kaith and R'hard are a good pair and they were a little disappointed to see us go. Do you really mean it that you want him to move on?
"Yes Tal, I do. No matter what I want R'hard to be happy. Even though you both had a Clutch together and I got to spend a night with him was no means of us being Weyrmates. No. Next time I see him I expect he will have settled down with someone. And a good thing too. R'hard is too dear a friend to lose and I would rather him find someone to settle with than have him spend the rest of his life waiting for me. Ah here we are."
The Obsidian pair arrived at the Sands and Aela called a greeting, "May I enter the Sands?"

Abyrath nosed an egg, peeking her head up at the question. Yes, come and see my clutch.
Pride was clear in her voice. She had a clutch. A clutch of two!!
Ka'mond jerked awake, dusting sand off of himself. Who had entered? Who wanted to enter?
He rubbed his eyes. "Come... come in...?" His answer was more of a confused question.

Aela stepped onto the Sands with Talath right behind her. Then Aela felt Talath go still. Talath? She asked alarmed.
That's my daughter!
For a Dragon of few words Talath seemed to have a lot to say. Aela stared at the Amethyst and could see a VERY small resemblance. She looked at Ka'mond. "Did you know? Talath and I left before the Hatching, but is it true?" If so then she had to keep an eye out for Ka'mond and his Dragon at all costs. He had ties with the Rebellion through his Dragon and that was potentially dangerous and that was not something Aela wanted for the Rider.

Ka'mond eyed the obsidian a moment, suddenly remembering the hatching. "Princess Talath!" He cried, causing Abyrath to squint at the dragoness. Why did you leave, mother?
The little, tiny amethyst was delighted. She did have a mother, a sub-queen at that! Did that mean she was a princess's princess?
Come see my clutch! Aren't they pretty??
She nudged each egg, tail twitching and curling tighter around Ka'mond. "Abyrath, you are squeezing me!"
Her tail loosened, and she chuckled.

"We left for Talath's protection... though here won't be much better. Even though the mutated colors are safer here once a battle starts it wouldn't matter where we were. I just want Talath safe." She stroked the Obsidian gently who in turn lowered her head and gently nudged her Rider lovingly.
Aela turned back to the Amethyst pair. "The eggs are very pretty Abyrath." She nudged Talath. "Go on you silly creature."
Talath snaked her way forward to look at the eggs and she let out a croon. I am proud Abyrath. Even if I wasn't there like I was suppose to be I am still VERY proud.
Aela grinned, "Talath means it. Normally she doesn't talk a lot, but when she has something to say she says it." Aela adored her Obsidian. Princess. Not something Aela had ever considered, but if that was what Obsidians were ranked then that was what she was.

Ka'mond smiled, though he frowned inside. Each day he was here, he missed Asaara more. Even when he was at Trelis, he likely would not be able to see her in between training.. and when he did... it was awkward when he longed to pull her body against his and touch her pale cheeks, her soft white hair.... but he could do nothing more than hold her hand, or hug her... His cheeks reddened as he still daydreamed of his love, only a sharp flick of Abyrath's tail woke him. I want you to come back to Trelis with us. Mine and I have gained our respect. We are scorned as mutations, but we're Provence ourselves... You could too, mama.

Aela hesitated. She could feel the Obsidian doing the same. After being gone from their home for so long neither knew how everyone would react to them returning. They had whispered once about Talath being Obsidian, but that would increase tenfold for sure. The Weyr would most likely think they were Rebellion spies or something. Who could blame them? They knew long ago that Aela had left them. Then Aela shook her head, "No Abyrath. Your mother and I would be trusted even less if we returned. Talath and I appreciate your invitation."
Suddenly her mind fell to R'hard and tears stung her eyes. Talath gently nudged Aela and the woman jabbed the tears away, "I'm sorry. I would love to go back, but I am afraid of what would happen if I did. No. You focus on getting Abyrath better and then go home. They know you. They don't know us." Aela placed a gentle hand on Ka'mond's shoulder, "When you get back tell R'hard I said hello. He will know what you mean." She turned to Abyrath, "I hope your babies are beautiful young Abyrath. Talath is very proud of you no matter what happens."
Aela turned and walked away, but Talath stayed behind. The Obsidian watched with sadness in her eyes. Then she turned to Ka'mond and Abyrath.
Listen and listen well. I do not normally speak, but when I do I usually have a message. Aela gave up EVERYTHING that she held dear. I'm pretty sure by now the man she loves has found another and that in and of itself will be even more devastating to her than just returning. She would no longer be trusted, she would find herself sad and depressed, and she would be nothing more than a shell if she returned now. No. Aela and I will return when the time is right. You two on the other hand are known within the Weyr and are better trusted. Despite you being rider to an Amethyst the two of you have a strong bond. I can sense this. Talath lowered her head to look into Ka'mond's eyes, Never and I mean NEVER let anyone put you down. Hold your head up high and ignore what others say. I truly hope one day Aelamine and I can return home, but now is not that time. She nudged Ka'mond gently and then nuzzled her daughter before she dipped her head at the pair, made her goodbyes, and left the Sands.
