There stood the bronzerider, kicking a paw of Kasprth once, hardly doing much, and he could rid that foot as a runnerbeast.
"Call them, lazybones!" Zi'axe snapped, influenced by Kasprth.
Kinurninth does not like me. I shall not--
"I SAID CALL THEM!" Zi'axe growled, his golden eyes narrowed. God damn. This dragon got on his nerves! "Kasprth. Call K'er and Kinurninth. We have training to be done. I'm tired, grumpy and already hot. I'd like it over with."
The bronze growled with annoyance, considering swatting his tiny rider.
Kinurninth. Come. There is training to be done. Bring riding gear and cool clothing. Do hurry. We shall not allow you to foolishly waste our time.
"You didn't frighten them I hope, you brute?" Zi'axe sat on Kasprth's extended leg, waiting for the pair.
His hand touch the hilt of a small and worn dagger he'd bartered for. K'er would have extra training as well, as the boy's means of defence were... unusual and weak. He couldn't have the boy being chopped to bits...
The other side of his belt had a matching weapon, for K'er of course. As a pillow would not do...

Mine, oh Mine, LoveMine! We have somewhere to be, oh yes we do! We have somewhere to be and...........................................................OH! Right, we have to be there.....NOW! Right now, like right now
Kinurninth trilled as she threw her head back, her wings fanning out over K'er's form where he had been resting beneath one. What was a boy to do when it was sharding hot out and rain was no where in sight until later that afternoon? Blinking his eyes the weyrling, if that's what you could call someone of his age and rank down here at Rindell, looked up at the purple dragoness' whirling eyes. Who's calling us? Someone very important, and we have to go now, now, NOW! The young female flipped her tail around K'er's form, brushing him up and toward her neck where she had bent down for him to climb up. I don't think it would be fashionable to be late at this time Mine. In fact, the latest of fashion is being on time, can you believe that?
Course not Kin, now keep going and don't forget where we're supposed to meet them. The weyrling shook his head, petting the sunset that had flapped up to perch on his leg, Kele turning her own eyes toward the strange amethyst. Don't worry, I remember! The excited chirp was met with a roll of her rider's eyes but K'er was in too good a mood, odd for the morning's events. After all, just that morning she had risen, and now they were all better and continuing with their lives as if nothing had ever happened. Vaguely he wondered if she would clutch as some of the amethysts were no doubt going to do, there had to have been three at the most that the Healers had proclaimed carrying an egg or two.
It had caused a strange sort of tension to settle within the Camp of the rebels. Some rebels were spreading secrets that Noita's Sylencath was unable to clutch, others that it didn't matter and her leadership mixed with the fact that her Obsidian had not yet risen both meant that a change in how things were run needed to be made. Either way, the air was thick enough to cut into most of the time and since D'tri had disappeared as well things were even worse. Then again, the Lieutenant Minor did sometimes go away for a few days, and it was no secret that he had someone back home that he went to see, there was still a held breath for him to return.
Landing where they had been called though, Kinurninth tipped her head slightly to the Bronze and crooned a greeting. Oh, hello funny Kasprth. It is going to be fun, fun, fun playing with you today! "Oh, great." K'er looked up at the bronzerider that he had hit not once, but twice with a pillow of all things and instantly started to blush.

"I hope you forgot your pillows, kid."
Zi'axe stood from his seat on Kasprth, striding toward K'er. He was ready to duck if the crazy boy hurled rocks or sticks at him. Who knows? The weyrling was crazy....
"Looking red now, aren't you? Hmm. Didn't realize I'd be here?"
If Zi'axe's mood hadn't brightened (and it wouldn't have but K'er's reaction was too priceless) his comments would be menacing. But his lips half turned up in a sly smile. He could use the other morning to his advantage. And he would...
This is not a game, Kinurninth. Its training that your life shall depend on.
Kasprth, however, had enough grumpy for everyone present. His tail whipped against a rock, sending it flying in the opposite direction.
Be nice. Don't hold such a grudge...
Since when are you the master of nice?! You are normally worse than a Garnet.... What is your evil scheme...?
I only plan to never let the kid his mistake down. I'll milk this advantage forever. And shut up. I'm happy. Go rain your gloom elsewhere...
I wish I could, Mine. But clearly I'm stuck here teaching an amethyst to fly in a straight line!
Zi'axe gave his bronze and nasty look. Kasprth better change his attitude... quickly..
"Here." A sheathed dagger slid across the sandy ground and stopped at K'er's feet. "Pick it up, and let me show you real defense. Pillows won't help you at all if we happen upon war... And I refuse to see you chopped to bits."
Kasprth chuckled and mused darkly over that idea.

"No, I didn't bring a pillow so will you stop...please?"
The younger boy blushed, trying to hide it as he looked away and thrust his hands into his pockets. "I don't expect you would have been any better with your first flight if no one had bothered to really explain it all to you." His voice was tinged with sadness, his eyes trained on Kinurninth's form.
Well Faranth, Mr. you're waaaaaay too tense. How is anyone supposed to like you if you don't relax. Come on now, with me...breath in....breath out...breath in...
"Kin, stop I don't think you're helping." K'er shook his head as he looked at the purple dragoness that had fluttered her wings outward and started to breath steadily to show the Bronze just how it was done. In that moment Zi'axe had decided to slide a dagger toward K'er and the boy stared down at it as if it were a tunnelsnake about to bite him.
"I...I...no, just no. I'm more of a help back at home base, heal people sort of guy." He shivered as he stared at the dagger, his eyes wide and his head shaking. "I can't..." His voice had slowed and quieted to where it was just a whisper, his body tensed as he kept shivering, unable to stop himself. He couldn't do it, he just couldn't. So, K'er stared down at the knife and didn't move, he barely even breathed.

Zi'axe opened his mouth as if to sneer, but froze. Had he perhaps gone too far? He suddenly felt as though he'd swallowed a stone. Shards...
"Hey, it was a joke, K'er. I found it actually rather...fun. You don't know how long it has been since I've had a good laugh, or smack."
The bronzerider smiled, yes, smiled. Not a stupid grin, but a somewhat friendly kind sort of smile. His golden eyes softened, and roboticly his hand touched K'er hand, then clasped his shoulder. "Don't stress about it. I think you did great. Atleast you didn't hit me with a chair...?" Ok.. that wasn't as helpful sounding as he'd thought. "I mean... it could have been worse?" He frowned, confused why his words were all jumbled on his tongue.
I know how to breath, Kinurninth. The bronze seethed, eyes narrowing at her tiny purple form. He snorted loudly at her, sending a gust of warm air at the dragoness. Be nice.
I am a KING! I do as I please. You cannot control me. ZiMine you must act stronger. Show your rank and age by putting the twits in their places!
Fine. Then you cannot control me. I will do as I please. Kasprth growled lowly glaring at Zi'axe. The man was unphased.
"Hey K'er? I am sure I could answer your questions. I may not have a female dragon but Kasprth is as moody as an egg-heavy queen."
Kasprth hissed with fury, wanting to smack Zi'axe with his tail.
Zi'axe looked kindly (or kind for Zi'axe) at K'er still touching his shoulder. "I'm not as scary as I look. I promise..."

Despite Zi'axe trying to be nice and comforting, K'er only felt worse. He had acted so immature, so terrible to the bronzerider during the flight. I hit him with a pillow Kin....a sharding pillow! Sounds like fun to me, at least it was all soft and fluffy like a little huntyre chick. You did not just associate hitting someone with a pillow to hitting them with a huntyre chick. Kele chirped unhappily at the thought of such a thing, the Sunset Huntyre flapping her wings irritably as she perched on Hers' shoulder.
Zi'axe's hand was an unwelcome addition, and the normally sweet thing snapped at his fingers, not meaning to injure but just threaten. "You might want to keep away, it's getting closer for her to fly again too....she's normally very sweet up until that moment." Kele fluffed up her chest, a chittering trill coming from her beak as she looked at the other rider with whirling eyes. Oh Kasprth, of course you know how to breath silly. I was only helping. Honestly, and you wonder why I didn't choose you, you're too uptight. You don't know how to have fun!
The Amethyst ruffled her own wings, just as agitated as her rider's pet. I hope his rider is not as bad as his dragon. The words were meant for K'er, but the weyrling dismissed them and instead looked back towards Zi'axe, sighing when he mentioned not being scary. "You don't look scary at all.....you look....." the boy blushed here, looking away quickly so that the rider wouldn't see it perhaps. "Confident." The word was hastily replaced, after all it wasn't like K'er was going to outright say that the rider looked, of all things, cute to him. You liiiiiiike him.
Again the teasing remark was added to the list of things K'er ignored from Kinurninth. "So, knives...right.....I just don't exactly like the idea of hurting someone you know? Even if it were in defense." He shrugged off the hand that had landed on his shoulder, his eyes closing as he kicked the dagger back toward Zi'axe and walked away a few spaces. "Besides, if anyone should be learning how to fight it should be someone more important like Eiko or...I don't know, some young Brownrider or something that's more valuable." He crossed his arms, not in determination to not do whatever it was he was being told, but to comfort himself and stop the shaking. "Why do we even have to fight? For once I'd like to just be in a comforting place, with a nice bed and people that I don't have to worry about hurting me....before it was because she was different, now it is because I'm low on the food-chain."
That will not always happen Mine....my color is not as weak and useless as everyone seemed to first believe.................................Mine, can't you tell? They're starting to recognize how wonderfully useful we can be! Surely I will have a little eggy just like the Amethysts back at Bay Weyr did. After all, that Trelis dragoness is going to, as is the other one who is with Iliath a lot, and I think one of the others maybe too....I'm not sure but we'll make it all better, you'll see!
The dragoness didn't bother keeping her words to herself, and they shocked the rider who normally was used to nonsense words and vain thoughts from the amethyst. "She's not normally so....well versed. You feeling okay Kin?" Nodding her head the little dragon gave a snort and curled up where she had been standing, her wings tucking in daintily against her side.

Shards! What had he said?
Heck, why did he even care?!
How ironic. K'er's comment (however hastily changed) made the man no where near confident. K'er's face reddened, but Zi'axe dismissed it as heat.
Being called confident... Ha, more like confused... The bronzerider's cheeks burned.
"D-damn H-heat!" He lied meekly, suddenly very very hot. Be it the sun or...or...
He tightened his jaw, struggling to keep his face stoney, but his features were melting...
Kasprth snorted at Kinurninth, suddenly turning whirling eyes to His. Are you well? You act as if the child kissed your lips and held a knife to your neck, which he did neither... You can't possiblely....?
Shut up! Why would you care? You don't exactly offer niceness or friendship...
I'm not mushy like you are, fool.
Zi'axe's breathing was uneven, and he wished to control it.
"I-I'm still here if you do want to...ask..." Shards, why did his eyes have to keep staring at K'er's, threatening to make him burst? Why did he keep losing himself? Drowning, sinking into confusion... But never so nice was this suffacating insanity......
Boys could be cute too, well K'er atleast. Part of Zi'axe wanted to run, while the other half actually wanted to.... kiss K'er. Or.. comfort him..
Zi'axe stepped toward K'er again, hesitated then came closer. He was taller and visibly more muscular than the boy.
The bronzerider's heart raced, his face drew near to K'er's. Shards... if anyone was watching he'd die..
He was frightened, his face hovering very close to K'er's. He could not make up his mind. Draw away or... do as he was about to: kiss?

Mine....Mine....MINE!
Of course K'er was long gone, he had been gone since the moment Zi'axe had turned out to be his instructor. The fact that he was now inches, no less than inches, from his face...well, it certainly didn't help the situation. The weyrling breathed in, and yet the air seemed to not come well enough for him to properly inhale. He was too close, much too close. How could Zi'axe just hover there?!?! As if there was nothing wrong, as if there was nothing to it? How could he do that and just....MIIIIIINNNEEEEE!!!!
"What?!?!" K'er whipped around, off balancing slightly but catching himself with a few quickly made backward steps. My shoulder itches... Growling under his breath the normally docile young man shook his head and stomped over to the curled form of his lifemate, his eyes trailing back to look at Zi'axe for a moment before he reached out and scratched Kinurninth's hide. Better? Much, now you may go back and kiss the Bronzerider.
He blushed, his eyes going directly to the floor in his embarrassment. I was so not going to kiss him. Kinurninth's snorted, her tail flicking to K'er's legs where she pushed him forward gently. He likes you, really he does. Mine is just shy. Her voice slipped into Zi'axe's head, her tone matter-of-fact and somewhat bored. She was growing tired, and hungry. Definitely hungry. Hunt? She looked at Kasprth, indifferent to whether he would come or not, though hoping he would. She liked her Silly King.

Zi'axe's heart sank. What were the actions that were used in times like this? He'd tried comfort, and then kissing... but.. distraction hit.
For a moment, the man's eyes widened, his face reddened and then he turned away. Surely Kinurninth didn't mean....?
Kinurninth is not lieing. If I've learned anything from the amethyst it is she says exactly what she thinks.
Zi'axe got himself under control. Shards... This was a lesson but, he much preferred whatever they were doing. A game of sorts, hit or miss...
I would like to hunt. Help to distract Mine's foolish, and stupid thoughts. He's normally composed but now he's as nervous as I've ever seen him. Yours does something to him...
He spread his wings, waiting a moment to launch.
"K'er.... Please listen... I had worse luck on Kasprth's first chase. I... well I got a woman pregnant, and left with the child.. if.. if it helps at all..." His face was flushed and pink as it met K'er eyes. Again he felt like he should try again.. show K'er he meant no harm...
But.. he was too scared to try..

As does Yours to Mine...Mine does not want to admit that he likes males openly, but he knows he does. This is different for him, acting on emotions. Yours is much the one that Mine would like to be. That's silly though, Mine is fine as he is.
K'er shook his head, knowing that Zi'axe was trying to say something helpful but that just made matters worse. "Zi'axe...I don't care what you did, that's then, this is now. You're my teacher, you're here to help me learn...can we just get to the lesson? I...I can't talk about this....I just can't, I'm sorry." His eyes were remorseful, his entire body pleading for him to just run into the older rider's arms, let him comfort him as only a lover could. Not that he knew much of lovers or even friends.
Looking at the dagger near him again, K'er finally bent over to pick it up, his fingers hesitating before wrapping around the mud-grimed handle. He was probably holding it the wrong way, and he shook as he did so, not able to quite comprehend it all. Finally, he just let it drop from his hands and he with it. "I...I can't, I can't do it. I can't, I will never.....I came here because she was safe, because they told me to. I don't want to hurt anyone." Clutching his legs up against his chest the amethystrider shook his head, burrowing it against his knees and shivering all the while.
How could he really do anything right if he couldn't even hold a sharding dagger? Kinurninth keened sadly, but rose into the air higher and finally set out over the forest, forgetting Hers and the Bronzerider, focusing only on the King flying nearby. I chose Kinuth for a reason Kasprth, it was not to slight you. I would never want to hurt your feelings my Silly King...............................................................there. Diving suddenly the amethyst dropped from the sky, giving a delighted shriek as her talons hit the warm body of a wild wherry, her form toppling over again and again before skidding to a halt with her kill wrapped up in her wings and against her stomach.

Zi'axe could say nothing, what was there to say? Hesitantly he knelt next to K'er, looking at him almost puzzled. Never had he met anyone so truely confusing! "Hey, its ok." He said softly, wrapping his arms firmly around the boy. Whether K'er liked it or not... Zi'axe liked it. K'er could flail or kick, but this atleast comforter Zi'axe, even if it upset K'er.
Kasprth snorted, biting back another wicked comment. He circled twice before diving toward a second wherry. He growled at it, and it tried to flee. But his teeth caught the bird-like creature first.
"Kid, I like you. Normally, I don't like anyone. I'm usually anti-social kay? I... I sort of enjoy this. I....never really enjoy things...." One arm still wrapped around K'er, but the other touched a cheek. Oh shards. If K'er bit he, he wouldn't care. Damn, he would just keep gripping him. And if the moody little bird bit him, most definately his firelizard crew would fix that...
"Just relax K'er. You can't to anything wrong. Not in my class. You are capable of many things. But you won't give yourself a chance. I'm here for that. I can and will help you."
Every word was said gentlely in K'er's ear, with lips touching the boy's ear. Sitting like made him want to kiss K'er... I mean.... he was cute..... and innocent.
"I want a kiss this time. There isn't an itchy dragon to distract you..." How bold.

K'er shook his head again, dismissing the rider's words as nothing but pretty lies he had said to gain the younger man's confidence. "How....how could you......you're a bronzerider, you're not even supposed to be here." He gestured to the area around them, indicating Zi'axe's alliance with the rebellion despite the color he rode. That didn't mean he didn't side with them morally though right? K'er hoped it was the case, if the person he had turned out to like ended up a spy for some Anti-Weyr, oh Faranth the amethystrider didn't know what he'd do.
"I'm capable of riding Thread, and gathering food, and helping the healers, and watching the 'brats. That's about it Zi'axe, I'm no fighter, and I have no interest in fighting. I follow whoever seems to give me the best hope at life, and I thought that was the rebellion...I'm not so sure anymore." He bit his lip, knowing that he was crossing a line by saying his insecurities, the insecurities of many of the rebels to be honest. This wasn't just a nice rider he had started to fall for, this was a Knight, one of Noita's inner-circle. Zi'axe could just as easily kill him as he could hold him and comfort him.
Still, when the other rider turned to K'er and asked for a kiss, the younger man blushed and ducked his head slightly, afraid. "I.......I...." The blush only grew as he felt his ears get hot, and in response Kele hissed and clipped her beak together as she fluttered down from K'er's shoulder, not liking the closeness that the other man was getting to her and Hers. Was it so bad to just let the bronzerider have one kiss though? Just one maybe? K'er closed his eyes, his lips parting ever so slightly, and just as quickly he drew back. A hand rubbed insecurely at the opposite arm, his body hugging himself as he looked away.
"Sh...shouldn't we get back..to the....the lesson?"
