Ooma lay with Calibath's body curled up on most of her body, tail snaked around her left arm, neck laying on her lap.
The sun was warm, and hot but pleasent. Ooma's hair was falling around her shoulders messily. Messy hair was becoming more common, as Calibath demanded most of the girl's time. Besides, Ooma had no reason to still try to impress people, she had a wonderful man in mind....
Mine, you are thinking of him again. I told you he's always on your mind...
Quit it, Calibath. I can't help it. And don't go off telling the world. Sharing a mind is for just the two of us, ok?
Calibath snorted softly, but didn't reply. Ooma sighed.
I think I need to meet him. Yes, I will meet him. Summon him, Mine.
Ooma laughed. I can't summon him, silly. I can't even contact him mentally. We just have to hope he'll come by this way...
What's the use of a human's flat headknobs and large heads if they cannot communicate mentally?
First of all, our flat headknobs are called ears. They help us hear everything. Not everything, but nearby sounds. Second, our heads aren't that big... We have great problem solving and inventive brains...
That made Calibath burst out in dragon laughter, and Ooma just shook her head. Oh well. Maybe it was too early to explain that...?

It is far too hot for working, Kaith muttered as R'hard fastened his riding straps. The brownrider just grinned.
"Aww, it's not that bad outside. And after wing drills, you'll be able to soak in the lake for as long as you want." Even as he spoke, Kaith was moving toward his ledge and preparing to take off as soon as R'hard was on his back. "Anyway, we've still got some free time before practice starts, so let's go see if there's anything to do."
Kaith snorted. Time I could be spending napping before I have to exert myself, he replied, but made no further complaints as they took off. He soared over the Weyrbowl, and it was there that he spotted one of the young weyrling pairs, pointing them out to his rider. Isn't that your lady friend, with the green?
R'hard's sharp eyes soon picked out Ooma's form, and he grinned, urging Kaith to touch down beside them. He shouted to Ooma as he climbed down from Kaith's back. "Ooma, nice to see you here! The Weyrlingmaster's not running you into the ground, I hope?"
Kaith sat down on his haunches and snorted at Calibath, glancing over her with a critical eye. So, you are Ooma's green are you? Calibath, was it?

Ooma sat it, making Calibath hiss in her lap. It's R'hard you silly!
On the brown? Hmm...
Ooma stood after Calibath got up. "Hello, R'hard! No, we're actually quite free... I'm glad... It's nice to relax..."
Greetings, Brown King Kaith. Yes, I am Calibath.
"How are you R'hard?" Ooma only dared to hug him, afriad to upset Calibath. One day though... she'd be undeniably his... "Busy I imagine?"
She had to make do, standing holding his hands and smiling.

R'hard returned her hug with a vengeance; it had been a while since he'd last seen her. Finally he let her go and smiled. "Very busy, yes. In fact, I've got a drill to go to in a bit, though fortunately, Kaith and I still have some time before we have to be there. If it wasn't for you and Calibath, we might be bored," he joked, clasping her hands in his.
"And how has Calibath been?" He asked with a glance at the green. She seemed to be growing well, from what he could tell, but not large yet by any means. He didn't really know much about the green yet, except from what he and Kaith could tell from how she acted.
Kaith gave another snort at Calibath's words. I may hold some position of rank, but I'm still a brown. Leave the Kingly things to the bronzes and that Aerinth, I'm content with being a fighter. A sub-king, at best.

If it wasn't for Calibath being too young, Ooma wouldn't be so resigned. She'd have kissed R'hard or flirted or both, but she was terrified of scaring the green.
"She could learn what a secret is but other than that... She's great. Eating like a big greedy wherry and more energetic than a crowd of firelizards..." Ooma laughed. "Oh? I'm glad we keep you entertained."
Oh the girl loved teasing the brownrider... Her eyes glittered with laughter.
And a fine fighter you are...! Calibath squirmed, upset that he'd been so blunt in dismissing her respectful praise.

R'hard's curiosity could not be contained. "Secrets, eh? Exactly what kind of secrets is she finding?" he asked with a raised brow, but his wide grin revealed he was joking.
Kaith could see that Calibath was a bit upset compared to her earlier behavior, but for the life of him, he couldn't figure out what had caused it. He would never have thought his own careless words could influence others so. Oh, er. Thank you, the brown said finally. R'hard, what am I supposed to do now? Kaith had the feeling Calibath wouldn't be satisfied with him sitting there silently.
Inwardly, R'hard rolled his eyes at his dragon's abysmal conversational skills. Just return the compliment, Kaith, he told him, not without amusement.
Kaith stood up a bit straighter and looked down at the green. You look like a fine fighter as well, Calibath.

"She finds....... things."
She thinks about you alot especially--
"Calibath!"
Ooma tried hard not to redden, but she did anyway. What? I was only answering his question...
Yes, but that could have remained unanswered...
That's not very nice...
Oh dear... Ooma scratched her neck, feeling quite exposed. She needed to hide her thoughts better....
"She's a character.... Definately keeping me on my toes...."
Hey Kaith? What's it like to fly?

Kaith gave a mighty huff, and R'hard received the mental impression of a smirk. Oh, don't you hate it when the humans moon over each other? It's always Aela this or Ooma that, when who he should be paying attention to is his long-suffering dragon!
R'hard cursed the telepathic tendencies of dragons, as it meant clamping the brown's muzzle shut would have been a useless endeavor. "He's just taking the opportunity to tease me," he said, mostly to Calibath. "You can feel free to ignore whatever he says." He answered Ooma with a roll of his eyes, facing the brown dragon. "Don't they all..."
Kaith flexed his wings speculatively before answering Calibath's question. Ah, flying is nice. One of the few things that could possibly be nicer than napping. Though it's only more interesting when there's a female involved.

Indeed, but Ooma is- R'hard this, R'hard that. Do these earrings look good? Or this shoe? Hair down or up? It is quite annoying how paranoid she can he.. Obsessed really.
Ooma was mortified. "R-R'hard... that's not true..." She blushed. Don't lie Mine! Calibath chided. He should be flattered of the things you imagine sometimes.
The green dragoness has said what she wanted and return to Kaith. It is disappointing ours are so neglectful. But perhaps we can train them? Much like Ooma trained her silly golden dog?
Ooma pressed her lips together. "Ok... I do think of you but Calibath thinks I'm obsessed. I'm not..." This was...awkward....
