Abyrath! You need to stop being so bold!
Ka'mond clung tight to Abyrath, watching Rindell trees surge toward them.
Swooosh! Perfect dip between branches!
Abyrath laughed, loud and gleeful. Hers was so silly! As if she was a bird, the small dragon pounced to land on a branch, launching off.
Crraaack! Abyrath screamed a horrible sound of pain, as the branch snapped against her left wing. Eyes whirling yellow and red and white, Abyrath beat against the air, crying with each stroke.
Hot green inchor splattered onto Ka'mond and he nearly screamed too.
KaMine! My...my oooow! Wing!
Ka'mond looked, stomach doing a sickening flop as he saw Abyrath's wing at a distorted angle, with splinters and emerald dripping from a gash. Land... just land. You'll wrench it worse. We.. we'll be ok.. Land and rest.
Abyrath dropped to the ground, somehow launching Ka'mond from her back. The boy land on a bush. "Ow! ....I'm ok."
Abyrath was scared. Her belly was swollen ever-so-slightly with Banemith's clutch... She could lose her eggs!

B'den wasn't exactly happy with the duties he'd been assigned. Flying sweeps over the land near Rindell, as if there was anything interesting to see. It was boring, and more importantly, it was a waste of his and Kohenkyoth's skills. Any turn-old weyrling pair could have handled this; he and Kohenkyoth were almost graduated and should have been working on their fighting and flying skills in preparation of joining the wings.
Kohenkyoth was unaffected by her rider's sour mood. The green soared over the trees at a leisurely pace, sweeping back and forth to cover as much ground as possible. Don't think of it that way, B'den, she told him. Think of it as a break from our training. We've been working as hard as anyone, haven't we? Maybe it's time to rest for a bit and take it easy.
B'den had to smile at that. When his workaholic green thought it was time to take a break, he knew it had to be true.
Look, down there, did you see that? Kohenkyoth's sudden question caught him by surprise, as did her sudden swerve and dive. B'den was grateful that his riding straps kept him in place, because they were about the only things that were. After a moment of searching, though, he did find what Kohenkyoth had spotted first. A flash of purple among the trees; it looked like a young amethyst had injured a wing and been forced to land. He saw her rider nearby, a young boy.
B'den told Kohenkyoth to land, and be ready to contact the Rebellion if needed. The green dived nimbly and back-winged to a smooth landing, and B'den jumped from her back. "Are you two alright? Is there anything we can do to help?" he asked, concern in his voice. It wasn't until he got closer to them that he recognized the amethyst's rider from the Gather. "Hey, I think I remember you...from the Gather, right? Weyrling pair?"

Ka'mond scrambled to untangle himself from the bush, managing to get free with only minor scratches. Hastily, he shook leaves out of his hair, stepping to Abyrath's side protectively.
"B-B'den? It's Ka'mond... We weren't trying to do anything... Abyrath was being... silly." He shot his rasping dragon a slightly scolding look, totally aware her current pain was punishment enough...
"We were... just flying when Abyrath tried to bounce off of a branch I think. It snapped and somewhat backlashed her wing..."
Mine, it hurts. I... I'm so sorry... Unaware, Abyrath cast her voice for all to her, the regret and pain clear.
The purple dragon gave Kohenkyoth a meek glance, hissing as she tried reajusting her wing. It looked worse than it really was, it might not even be broken, perhaps sprained or dislodged. But the snapped branch left a good sized cut and several smaller slashes, and it throbbed and was bleeding a bit.
Rebellion friends, we certainly cannot return home now. Could we ask of your help?
Ka'mond looked scared, no matter how he tried to hide it. Abyrath was really hurt, actually disabled for the moment... He... he couldn't contact anyone either. Thankfully it was B'den who found them... and not a possiblely hostile rebel. "Looks like we'll get our wish now. Think we could stay at the Rebellion until Abyrath recovers?"
Ka'mond hated this. He hadn't wanted to return to the Rebellion... He was going to stay in Trelis for Asaara and Croyeth, but really for Asaara...

B'den quickly inspected Abyrath's wing and winced in sympathy at the wound. He was no healer, but he didn't think that would heal up anytime soon, and she was certainly in no condition to fly.
Kohenkyoth crooned comfortingly at the amethyst, though she wasn't normally the comforting type either. She did make the effort, though, as B'den stepped back and thought about what to do. He gave Ka'mond a reassuring smile. "Of course you can stay. Anyone who says otherwise can answer to me." He was joking of course, but he didn't really think it would be a problem, either. It looked like his amethyst was pregnant, and Faranth knew the Rebellion could use some eggs. Perhaps Ka'mond and Abyrath could be convinced to have her clutch at Rindell. "It looks like it'll be a bit difficult to get her there, however."
B'den turned to his green. "Kohenkyoth, I think you'd better talk to Nimarath and maybe Chahaturth. One of them should be big enough to carry her." Kohenkyoth crooned her assent and sent the message, and then they waited for help to arrive.

Ka'mond still couldn't belly Abyrath might actually be pregnant, but as he stroked her face he noticed how much rounder she looked. He closed his eyes a moment, scared this may hurt her unborn babies.
"Thank you...B-den."
Abyrath twisted her head to look at her wing, eyes yellow and white still. It was horrible to look at, all weird and.. useless at the moment. She shivered, nuzzling Ka'mond, who looked as if he was clinging to his dragoness for dear life, eyes scrucnhed up.
Mine? You are all....squinty... I'm fine... Just... It's scary... I shouldn't have let this happen.
Abyrath snorted and poked Ka'mond with a claw. She put on her best brave face, and held strong. For Hers, her eggs... For Banemith...

Banemith emerged from Between with a roar. He had sensed that his Abyrath was in need of him and he flew as quickly as he could, dragging G'daro with him. He scanned the forest floor carefully, then spotted her, screeching with pain. He landed and rushed to her side. Abyrath! Are you alright? he asked, assessing the damage.
G'daro nearly vomited at the sight of her wing. It was covered with blood and everything. He wondered if she would ever fly again. "Ka'mond! How did this... What happened?" he asked. Banemith crooned, his eyes swirling with worry. Abyrath.... Please.... Stay with me... For our clutch... Banemith crooned, licking her wounds.

Never before had Abyrath been so glad to see anyone before.
Banemith!
She cried, nearly flinging Ka'mond again as she strained her neck to touch Banemith's cheek.
I'm ok. I'll be ok. I'm a tough little dragon, small but mighty. I'll survive, for you and our clutch.
She dared not move too much, as it was annoying enough to not embrace her clutchmate.
Ka'mond paled. "We were... checking the isles near Rindell when Abyrath decided to bounce or whatever on a branch. It didn't support her weight and snapped, backlashing her wing..."
He chewed his lip, realing he would have to stay here, atleast until Abyrath healed... Wait, how long until she clutch too?
"We have to stay here, Abyrath and I. She can't travel..." Red crept into his face now. "Could... Could you tell Asaara what happened? I'll try and write to her... And send it by firelizard..."

Nimarath had been happily asleep when the call came out to her, and instantly she hissed and turned red eyes to Eiko who was resting on her bed of furs. Some dimglow Amethyst has gotten herself hurt...she's not one of ours either. The blonde haired girl shot up her head from where she had curled into a tight ball, her hand clutching the blanket she had thrown over herself irritably. Who's is she then? One of Izanycorth's dragons. Eiko closed her eyes and groaned, great that meant they came from Trelis which meant she had to go check them out!
Up girl, let's get those straps on you...at least the basic ones. I'm not doing the whole deal right now. Nimarath snorted, her eyes staring at her rider as if to say "what did you think I wanted?" Eiko simply ignored it in a sleepy daze as she kicked off her covers and yawned wide, her hands quickly moving to grab up the basic parts to the riding harness and slipping them onto the young Obsidian. There are two others with her there. A brown and a green, I believe the brown is her last champion...oh, it's Banemith. The Obsidian tilted her head to the side as she thought about this, thinking of the last time she had seen the Brown.
Again Eiko ignored Nimarath however, and instead she just put her foot through one of the loops and hoisted herself into the place on the dragoness' neck. Go. With a snort the black and teal dragon had her wings spread wide and her body in the air before giving the image to Eiko and the rider giving it back so they could slip into the darkness and arrive within time to see the dragons together and the riders worrying over what seemed to be a break in the wing if the Amethyst's position said anything about the injury. "Hello, I'm Eiko the Lieutenant Major here, meaning I'm second in command.....ummmr, sort of like your Junior Werywoman."
Tell me exactly what is wrong, how badly, and your purpose here. Quick now, I'm not one you want to try for patience.

Oh, great, just what we need. Another Trelis rider, Kohenkyoth grumbled privately to B'den as Banemith and G'daro appeared.
"Woah, take it easy!" B'den told the amethyst when she looked like she might try to move. He wasn't particularly worried about the brownrider; it seemed like he was genuinely worried about Ka'mond and Abyrath, and from what little B'den knew of him, he didn't think he would cause trouble. That, and the brown was clearly stressing over Abyrath and her unclutched eggs. He wouldn't be surprised to learn the brown was her winner.
He gave a sigh of relief when Eiko and Nimarath arrived. He stayed quiet, though, leaving the explanation of events to Ka'mond, since it was his dragon, after all.

Ka'mond looked as if he wanted to bolt from the obsidian, but stayed by Abyrath. "Greetings Eiko." He said, respectfully nodding towards her. He didn't like this... Half of him knew these people were the enemy, but the other half remembered wanting to come here...
"Well... we were flying and...." Shards! The boy flushed red. "Abyrath tried to launch off of a branch and it snapped on her wing... I think its broken. We wouldn't be here if Abyrath could fly, but now we have no choice...."
We are sorry to burden you, NimarathQueen.. Please help us now.
Abyrath didn't like the looks her belly received. It scared her.. Surely she'd be healed enough to fly back home before her babies were laid? Right? Perhaps... not...

Banemith crooned softly as Abyrath touched his cheek. G'daro nodded as Ka'mond told him what happened and what they must do. "Sure. I'll have Fizgig send her a message." he replied. With those words, Fizgig, who was on his shoulder the whole time, puffed his chest with pride and responsibilty. He turned to see Nimarath and her rider appear before him, the green rider and Ka'mond. "Oh, hello Eiko. Nimarath." he said, bowing in respect. Greetings, Nimarath. Banemith said to her, lowering his head like he was bowing too.
((oc: sooo short! sorry!))
