Ama was sunbathing today. Hers was too pre-occupied to give her attention... so she was trying to garner some from those around her... as well as any nearby males. She hissed at any green or gold that dared to come near her rock. This was her rock. No one else could have it...
She hissed, tail lashing, her eyes swirling red before she rose and pounced on a small rodent, instinctively sinking her teeth in and drawing out its blood. Yes... It was time. She gave the loudest call she could for the males to hear, her mind slithering with feelings through those in the area.. Sensual... demanding. She took to the skies on purple, orange and gold wings, the light reflecting off her shining hide in a cascade of her coloration.
It was high noon and the sun was indeed... high. She hissed at it as it blocked her vision. She was heading up now... Up and over the Weyrbowl... Oh what fun challenges could she come up with here... One she had in mind... but first... first she must see her chasers - must size them up...
Then they would begin to face her tests... and try to earn her favor.

Tav was coiled on the warm ledge, peacefully napping while His did silly human things. A cry of a flit woke him and he lifted his bronze head. He saw the beautiful body of Ama leap into the cry and he chirped a surprised noise. The lovely princess was rising! And it was only right that a king rose to her call.
In a moment the metallic figure of Tav was readied to launch into flight, his body taunt and tended to spring. He opened his maw and screamed triumphantly and proudly as he took wing. How brightly Ama shone in the noon's blazing light. Her hide shimmered like a brilliant sunset, with glowing and vibrant purple and orange and gold hues. How pretty she was! How majestic!
He trumpeted a brass cry of praise and crooned the glories of Mama's beauty to her.
He beat his wings and rose to greet the wonderful princess. He trilled and crowed to her and hoped to impress her. She was smaller and faster than he but he would give his all.

The brown flit Hari was amusing himself by catching fish in the river that ran through Trelis, not that he was particularly hungry. His attention was caught by the pretty sub-queen that suddenly let out a call to all male fire lizards nearby. Hari looked up at that, eyes whirling with excitement. A flight, was it?
The brown chirped back his own reply to the purple and gold female, and he leaped into the air after her, crooning flirtatiously. There was a bronze flit chasing as well, but Hari was not intimidated. He was old and experienced, having participated in and won his fair share of flights before.

Spazz was, predictably, spazzing out by the river, doing his best to snatch some of the small fish near the riverbanks. He was failing, being unable to focus on a single fish for any length of time, but he was occupying himself and that was what mattered. He stopped and landed on a nearby rock, swishing his head to and fro as a call came out. A female? A female was rising at she wanted HIM?
The blue launched up, spiraling and blinking close to where the ametrine was before trilling his arrival. Immediately he began twists and turns, spirals and loops as he followed behind her. He was much too energetic to just follow like a normal male; oh no! He was going to show just how much fun he could be!

Buster yawned lazily as he slowly took in all of the Weyr that was stretched out below his perch. He chirped curiously when he saw something shining take to the air. He growled lazily and then took to the air after the ametrine female that had picked this bright sunny day to take to the sky and Fly. His corn silk colored wings beat the sky as he followed the ametrine into the sky. He crooned to her, letting her know that he was there for her, and her alone. His burly wood colored body soared through the sky after Ama, waiting to see what she had in store for her chasers. Oh no, he knew very well that he wasn’t the first one to show himself to this gorgeous female that had taken to the skies. But neither was he the last which was something that this normally lazy brown was quite surprised by. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ There was a light chocolate colored speck carefully stalking the kitchens, his tan wings and wheat colored tiger stripes easily giving away his hiding spot. Max was about to pounce on a fresh fish when he noticed a growing group of firelizards flying through the sky. That’s when he picked out Buster’s husky form and realized what was going on. He sang out happily to Ama as he took to the air after her. She was flying and he was there to serenade her the best he could in hopes that she would approve of his singing voice and the aerial acrobatic display he attempted to put on for her. He knew he wasn’t as good at the aerial display as the smaller firelizards that had decided to chase the ametrine female, but that didn’t stop this spunky firelizard from trying.

Ama took in her chasers for a moment... Browns... Bronze... Blue... Wonderful! They were all were chasing! Accepting her challenge. She crooned loudly and spiraled downward towards the herdbeasts below twisting and falling amongst their hooves, careful as she avoided their feet and fears, flying and dodging before taking off over their backs and back into the skies, hissing at them to keep up as she spiraled up further and further, looking for the next challenge she would give them. That she would demand of herself, but also attempting to be certain she stayed well away form them.
No one was catching this fiery little queen with ease!

It was clear this little queen was not going to go easy on her chasers, but that was fine with Hari. He enjoyed a challenge. He hesitated ever so slightly when she dived down among the herdbeasts; he was no dragon to scare them with impunity. They were dangerous to something as small as him.
There was a female to impress and rivals to out-perform, though, so he took the plunge. The herdbeasts scattered as they were dive-bombed by the small flying creatures, and the brown flit was nearly gored by horns or kicked by hooves several times as he dodged through them. He somehow managed to come out of it unscathed, and he chirped triumphantly at the ametrine, pleased at his success.

Buster watched Ama and crooned as he watched her start their first challenge. Or was this actually their second? Was accepting to chase her actually the first challenge or did it even count to anything? He shook his head at the thoughts that passed through his brown mind. He tucked his wings and dove after Ama, taking her challenge with a sort of lazy bravery. He might be chasing a rare queen of the skies, but that didn’t mean he was going to change that much of his character for her. Though he was sure he would change more than he would like to if she really wanted him to. But he is what he is and if she couldn’t accept him for that then his energy would be wasted in vain. He followed her through the dangerous maze of herdbeasts and then back into the sky, singing to her softly the entire time. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Max quickly dove down to follow Ama, this wasn’t his first chase and he was prepared for very dangerous challenges. He ducked and dodged the flying hooves of the herdbeasts. He crooned and chirped happily when she led them up and out of the herdbeasts. Flying in the open was much easier than trying to avoid something as dangerous as hooves the size of firelizards. He followed along behind Ama and carefully took the time to study the competition. There was only one bronze, and one brown besides Buster. Though he was sure that the lazy brown he had grown up with wouldn’t be much competition. He dipped and dived as he followed behind her, trying to impress her with his agility. His voice rang out as he sang of her beauty, and sheer bravery, hoping to flatter her enough to choose him.

Ama looked back. Se had her favored ones already... but that didn't mean that she would choose them. No there was still plenty of time for others to prove themselves. She crooned to them. Faster! Further! Try harder! She tried to push them - make them fly harder, faster chase her with everything they had. She shot upwards into the skies and right past the head of an irritable green who's jaws snapped out right behind Ama, barely missing her tail. Let them try to survive that!

He twirled, he spun, and he gave his all in his aerial display. It was mostly in the hopes of impressing the pretty lady that teased and taunted them, but it was also for the sheer fun and freedom of flight. He swerved, his blue form slicing through the sky as he chased. He was quick, nimble, fun, she could see that right? As she dove down to the herdbeasts, Spazz was all too happy to follow, weaving in and out between their legs. This was such fun! This ametrine sure knew how to have a good time!
Spazz paid little attention to the other chasers, save for the occasional glance before he tried to spin around one. Oh but Ama was upping the difficulty now! He chirped and followed, dodging up around the green’s head and even going so far as to land on her headknobs, chirping curiously before remembering his goal and taking off after the shining female once more.

Hari hissed in annoyance. The others hadn't given up yet? Well, he certainly wasn't going to! He saw the green coming well ahead of time, and while he thought it might impress the Ametrine if he courted a little danger, this time he thought it best to fly around the dragon, giving her a wide berth. He lost a bit of time, perhaps, but his health was more important, shardit! He flapped his wings extra hard to make up the distance and crooned a flirty song to Ama.
