Nimae's little green body was curled around her small clutch of three eggs. Her eyes whirled red and yellow as the eggs began to shake gentlely. She lifted her narrow head and let out a loud hum, her whole being vibrating. Her clutch! Rorce's clutch! Their clutch..... Gingerly she touched each egg with her nose, crooning proud encouraging noises between hums. Three eggs were nestled in the warm sand, two quite average and small while one was actually hot to the touch and large. Nimae trumpeted a commanding cry, trying to gather attention. Her babies were hatching! They deserved attention and a crowd to watch. Come one and all! Welcome this greens children! --- ((Ok so I'll make this a 'free for all' clutch. I do not have owners in mind. Just enter your characters and depending on how they react and have reacted to past threads I'll decide. When the firelizard impresses to you, I'll post their pictures. I will edit egg pictures in. Give me a moment. C: )) This egg is quite large, and very hot to the touch. You cannot pick this egg up, as it almost begins to scald your fingers. This egg looks dangerous, black with the faintest bit of blood red splattered upon the surface. This egg is much different from its much larger sibling. The thin eggshell seems to almost be covered by a layer of frost. The shell of this egg is sleek and smooth, almost glassy or slippery. This tiny egg is the smallest of the clutch. This egg is medium sized, not overly large or small. Nothing exceedingly special either, except for one thing. This egg is not anywhere near beautiful or perfect. It could be described as oddly ovalish, with a very bumpy rough outside. The texture is almost sand papery, every inch covered by some kind of blemish.

S'bel was enjoying a day off. He didn't know where R'vin was, but he didn't need to know. He trusted the other man more than anyone else in the whole Weyr, and that was saying something. After all, S'bel did not trust easily, especially after certain past events.
Walking along the beach, his eyes on the sky, where Maerath was performing loops and twirls, simply for the fun of it, S'bel munched on one of the meat-rolls he had gotten from the kitchens as a lunch. He was planning on revisiting the spot where he and R'vin had first met... A special spot, that one.
Offering a tidbit of the meat-roll to his Lazuli fire-lizard, he found that she was humming the deep hum that meant somewhere nearby, a clutch was hatching. S'bel could have shot himself. He did not need another fire lizard! But if it was a wild clutch... and they didn't have any food... The man was caught between a rock and a hard place.
Finally he gave in and followed his fire lizard, Vanda, to where the clutch was hatching. As he approached, he slowed down, watching from a distance. It certainly looked like a wild clutch... yes. With a green, no less. S'bel looked around. The beach was bare. No food. Shards! He already had his hands full with one fire lizard, he didn't need another!
Hush, MineLove. Just wait and see. Perhaps someone else will come along... or perhaps they won't. I would certainly not mind another of the tiny dragons. I like them. S'bel rolled his eyes, and approached the clutch carefully. He had no idea how the green would react. Looking over the eggs, he sighed. Maybe this wouldn't be such a bad thing?

Nimae squeaked as the medium sized egg twitched violently and rolled of of the crude sand nest. Then she flared her wings at S'bel, watching hm warily. He didn't seem dangerous but he still had to he watched.
But the rough surfaced egg was excited! Oh! It was time! Perhaps the flit inside was ready to be free? Spider web cracks danced onto the egg's shell, splintering it slowly. Hmm.. This was oh so tiring..
The egg stilled, shaking faintly as the baby inside rested. It was nearly free! With a final kick and shove, a green firelizard toppled out, landing ungracefully in a clumsy heap. She, yes she, cried shrill notes. How embarressing! Then she picked herself up, sitting in a more dignified position. A butterfly tried to land on her nose and she hissed, attacking the flighty bug. A warrior like herself would always be first to attack!
If S'bel watched closely he would see the ridges and odd bumps on the green's hide. She was not smooth at all!
Her eyes focused on the man, head cocked curiously. What was that?
- Nimae crooned to her first born daughter, head raised proudly. The hot large egg was held possesively against her own body.

S'bel didn't really want to stay, but instead sat down in the sand anyway. If no one else came along... would he really be saddled with three more fire lizards? He wasn't sure he could handle that. One flitter and a dragon was enough!
Watching the eggs carefully, he sighed as the first egg began to rock, and cracks appeared across the shell. The egg stilled momentarily, and then finally the egg broke, and a green fire lizard fell from the shells in a rather less-than-graceful manner.
S'bel couldn't help but smile as she cried momentarily before drawing herself up into a better position, where she was sitting. A butterfly danced by, and the green swatted at it. He couldn't help but chuckle again. What a little warrior! The green's eyes focused on him, and he swore violently.
"Here, little one," he said quietly, tossing a bit of the meat roll to it. Just because he fed it didn't mean it would Impress to him, right? ...right?!

Morgause sighed and shook her head as she walked along the beach. She had her two huntyres with her, though they normally were anyways, but today something else was on the blonde woman’s mind. She had watched the dragon hatching, and all the stands impressions that had ensued, and was now wondering what it was like to have an intelligent mind connected to one’s own mind. She thought she might like it, as long as whatever she impressed was strong, powerful, and extremely intelligent. Not like some of those lesser dragons she had seen. No, she had her mind set on one of the queens, but there was no way she could become a candidate, so what was the point of even considering a dragon? Talut chirped curiously which snapped Morgause out of her reverie. Morgause raised one neatly manicured eyebrow as she saw a man sitting in the sand next to what looked like a firelizard clutch. Humph. That was all Morgause had to say about that situation, but Nezzie had another idea. The three turn old huntyre flew from her perch on Morgause’s shoulder and flew over to land a little ways away from the clutch and its green mother. Morgause almost growled audibly as she eloquently walked over and snapped her finger for the Sunset huntyre to return to her perch. That’s when one of the eggs caught her attention. It was a large egg, but the odd coloring is what had caught her attention. The black egg with what looked like a splattering of blood on its shell particularly intrigued the woman, which made her wonder if that is why her huntyre had flown over to the clutch. (((OOC: Feel free to give her the Thorny Leaf egg if you want Twitch. Morgause only noticed the Boiling Blood Egg because she has a thing for blood XD )))

The little green chirped at S'bel, half hopping half sliding down loose sand toward the food. She sniffed at the meatroll and took at tiny bite. Oh! She liked this! Then the green ate the rest, and crept toward S'bel. Her eyes sparkled with a million questions and she sort of pounced into his lap. Hmm... He would be Hers. She liked him. He wasn't scary and he just... felt nice. Even if he spoke angry gibberish at her. Now her face tipped up to peer at S'bel, unaware that (much to his outmost dislike) her eyes glowed rainbow. Hers! Mine! He was Hers! Her rough head rubbed against his hand, much like a cat. S'bel wouldn't mind her blemishes hide right? She was certainly better than any other green! She wouldn't flirt, no! She was a fighter, a protected of hers!

Oh! Oh! Nimae hissed as her favored egg shivered and slipped from her grasp. She squeaked and trilled in a scolding manner then was distracted by the bird-creature landing nearby. She spat and prodded the black and red egg, as if saying; stay put. But the hot egg had different plans! A loud crack was heard and the egg simplely split in 3 large shards, revealing a large and hungry garnet. Eyes whirling red he snarled, causing Nimae to retreat to the nest and sit with the tiny remaining egg. Hmm. His needed to be strong and.. yes. Evil. Quite vile His would be. The garnet locked his lips and seemed to ponder mauling his firstborn sister. Nah. What a waste. She was weak and silly.... He growled at the birds and stalked toward one. He paused and sat where he was, thinking dark things of a garnet.

Morgause watched curiously as the little green firelizard, obviously the mother of the clutch, tried to scold her unhatched eggs into staying where she told them to. Then a small gasp escaped her lips as she saw what had lain hidden beneath the shell of the egg she had admired. She had heard that garnets were vicious creatures, and this one seemed quite intent on stalking and attacking, and maybe even killing, her Sunset huntyre Nezzie. Nezzie saw the red creature stalking towards her, and cawed raucously as she flew up to land on Morgause’s shoulder. Serves you right for intruding Nezzie. The blonde woman still hadn’t taken her eyes off the handsome little hatchling, and wondered what dark thoughts were running through his little mind, which brought up the question if firelizards really could think or not.

The green chirped, sliding her way down across the sand to reach the meat-roll. She sniffed at it delicately before snapping it up. Apparently she liked it. S'bel hoped it wouldn't be stuck feeding all three... or even this one. He did not need another flitter!
Too late, MineLove! We have another! S'bel swore rapidly as the green skittered closer to him, and then jumped into his lap. As he looked down, he knew her eyes would already be swirling in rainbows. Shards! This wasn't how this was supposed to go!
The green rubbed her head against his hand, and he found himself grinning. As another egg hatched, however, revealing a garnet, he sighed. From the corner of his eye, he saw a young woman approach, and stood up rapidly, the little green drawfed in his large hands.
"Good," he said to the woman. "You like pets, take the other two!" And with that, he fled down the beach before the woman could protest.

His blood gaze glared at Morgause, and he licked his lips again, revealing dangerous white teeth for a moment. He fanned his large, though useless wet wings, spitting at his inability to fly. How was a Death King supposed to be so deadly if he couldn't fly yet??! He charged across the sands, snapping at the bird as it took off and fled ad growled at Morgause. Did they share an interest in blood? How irresistibly divine! With an almost gleeful smile he slashed the girl's leg, hot tongue lapping at the blood. The cut would heal. Yes. His would heal. He glanced up at her, His human. His slave. His mind touched hers, hunger and bloodlust forced into the girl's thoughts.
et
As much as he hated himsel for it, S'bel turned to watch the woman he had left with the garnet the green mother, and the remaining egg. It wasn't long before the garnet approached the woman and slashed her leg open. S'bel winced. He was definitely glad that it wasn't him the garnet had wanted... But there was still one egg left and the woman didn't look like she would be taking it after what just happened... Shards. Maerath was in his head, begging him to stay, so the man turned around and waited to se what the last egg would reveal...
