The Weyr was ahead, and she rose over it, gaining speed and altitude before looking back over her shoulder. Just as suddenly she stopped, hovering mid-air and watching her chasers come toward her. They were strong, magnificent dragons, any would be good partners but who to choose. Only one could win after all. She eyed the blues one by one first, then finally settled on her brown prince. I don't know who to pick....
The croon was a flirtatious one, her wings sweeping in wide arcs as she spun around and started to make little loops and corkscrews around where she was. She wanted them to choose, she wanted them to come after her. Why did the girl always have to be the one to pick, they were all good to her! Come and get me boys, let's see who catches me in my little dance. Darting in and out in pretzel-like movements she waited. They'd have to match her, they'd have to out-wit her in order to win her. It was her one last test.
On the ground Ara hissed as her chasers hissed at her. None of them made a real move against what she had done! Curling inward more against the Topazrider she listened to his words. "Mine!" It was a possesive word, seeped in hissing undertones and desire. She pulled on his shirt, ignoring the other chasers. Ara had made her choice, and she started to dance away, her hips sways slightly as she led J'dol back into the Weyr.

My princess! Let me join your genius beautiful display! Let us dance together and let me show you my worth lovely Avirith.
Eldomoth swooped to follow Avirith and beat his heavy wings. His sides rose and fell as he breathed but if he was tired he didn't show it. He crooned new praises to the green and wove around her then fell away. Hr backwinged and looped around her revolving around her lithe form.
Dance! Princess! Dance! Astound us with your beauty and grace. Please, let me be a part of this. I long to fly with you! Let me be worthy for this dance
The blue dragon roared with his deep voice and threw back his head. He had flown his best and he would be satisfied knowing he had tried. His body ached from the strain but he had done his everything.
Eldomoth! You've done well. I am proud of you. Even if you don't win you can be happy with your success.
V'rid watched through his dragon's eyes and smiled. He turned suddenly to glare at the other riders and growled. How dare they chase his prize! Avirith was his! He sighed conflicted by his dragon's lust. He had to keep himself together. He was Eldomoth-V'rid.
He caught the smile Hirion gave him and he smiled as well. It was a mischievous smile with a charming edge. Ara may be taken but there were others. V'rid took a step closer to Hirion and faced her. He wanted to say something. To flirt to please her but he had difficulty separating from Eldomoth. After the decision was made things would be easy to figure out.

He was fighting the pain now. His efforts were obvious in the way he favoured his injured side and tried to spend as much time gliding as possible; a rather impossible task when the one being chased was so swift and agile. His breathing was becoming laboured and his eyes whirled with a combination of lust and pain, but still he fought on. It wasn't that he thought himself betetr than his blue brothers, he simply thought Avirith deserved to have her chasers see this through. Avirith, oh beautiful one, no matter your choice, this one has been honoured to give chase! He bellowed. There was no musical tone to his voice, just pure and simple honesty. He did his best to follow her movements at first, but his complaining muscles and his size made following the dance impossible. No... if she was going to choose someone agile, it would not be him. He growled slightly, not at her, but at Assaila on the ground; the sound coming from the human part of his mind. Shaking his head, he had one last ditch effort to throw in. Swerving to the side and gaining a small bit of altitude, he watched her dance for a brief moment, trying to guess where her next turn would be. Picking a spot, he tucked his wings and dove, hoping to catch her by surprise if she came that way; it was a game of chance for him now... if he missed or was wrong, there was no way he would regain the lost distance.
J'dol smirked as Ara seemed to clue in to the plan. Yes, all he had to do was keep her focused on him and that would be that... hopefully she wouldn't find reason to shred his arms anymore. He smirked and gazed over the chasers, wondering how much longer it would be before one of them decided to try to claim Ara for their own.
Of course, Ara had different ideas. Before long, J'dol found himself being tugged along towards the Weyr, surprised she was sane enough to even bother moving. He wasn't complaining either way.
As the green's rider chose a non-chaser, J'degar growled, moving to step towards them but stopping at the last minute. Part of him wanted to tear J'dol for getting in the way, but another part, the shred of human that remained, reminded him that he didn't actually want the rider. He wanted someone else... His eyes turned to the sky, watching the dragons when he could see them and urging his dragon half to win.

He was getting so tired now, despite Ferrth's earlier attempts to conserve his strength. He was a blue, after all, and built more for speed than endurance, and he was starting to feel it now. He wasn't ready to give up quite yet, though. He crooned hopefully at Avirith. Have I done well, Beautiful One? Deciding to take a chance, he gave one last stroke of his wings and reached for the green. He was close enough now that he thought he could reach her... (OOC: You have my permission to smack Ferrth around a bit if Avirith thinks he's being impertinent. )

Avirith! Queen of my skies! I wish to come to you! To come for you! Allow me this! You are the wonder of all wonders!
He stretched his wings further and he spread his wings further. Taking off after her, spinning and he showed off for her, quickly attempting to catch up and twine himself with her.
Everyone was hoping to win. Every male here. but only one could win. He reached for her, stretching himself and putting his last ounces of strength into his attempt to catch her.
He reached for her, claws, wings, neck, tail... Every muscle in his body was tensed and prepared for anything... for her to evade him, to deny him... to choose another... but this old blue would give his all.
On the ground, J'mol felt the tension of his dragon adn a low growl escaped him, though he wasn't amongst the group.... He had his substitute but he still felt what his dragon felt... the thrill, the need to win. The desire... Everything. He reached out for him, the man he would be sending the night with, pulling him into his arms as his dragon attempted to reach for the dragoness. But there was a big difference. J'mol wouldn't lose his prize like his dragon could should she deny him for any reason...
Vaarinth crooned and sang to her still.... even if she should choose another. It was his honor to chase her.
Assaila looked up at J'dol and frowned irritably before turning her eyes back to J'degar. She didn't dare move, looking up at him. "Gar.... Gar... I'm right here... I'm right in front of you..." She did feel afraid... but not of Gar... fo hte other riders.

Her wings were tired, her muscles sore. That's all she knew, but it was more than that too. She was dancing for them, showing her love and joy at flying with them. This was everything Hers wanted to show, everything that she could be instead. Her wings tucked in as she spiraled away from one of her blue chasers, teasing them as she went past another. They all tried catching her now, and she simply closed her eyes and let her body move. In the end it was a larger form that caught her, he had been so steady, so wonderful.
Syphraelth...
It was a single word, his name breathed gently from her mind to his as she allowed her wings to fold even more in and let his open grasp catch her. They would dance slow, slow and beautifully, showing them all that it was not just about fancy moves. Certainly they were nice, but this was what she enjoyed, just gliding along with her champion.
Ara nuzzled against J'dol's neck, her eyes flickering over to J'degar's form for a moment, confused as Avirith was caught by the rider's Brown. Was she supposed to be with him? Her body fought for a moment, until she had a flash of herself and she just as quickly clutched the Topazrider to her body. Her length stretched more, her weight being supported on tip-toes as she tilted her head back to kiss him. "Mine..." It was a gentle word, as gentle as Avirith had thought.

Dismay. Bitter dismay! The blue's form dropped from the air as the loss took effect. He'd tried. He'd failed! Eldomoth spiraled away from the entangled pair, jealous and disappointed. He had not pleased his princess. He'd not been enough! The blue dove toward the waters and skimmed along the salty waves. The tide splashed his hide, cold water coating his scales. His entire body hurt. Every muscle had been strained in his display of his worth. His would have to massage him. And cheer him too...
You did well Eldomoth! You did your best. That's what counts.
His's words did some comfort but Eldomoth could not shake the lingering feelings of his failure. He gentlely dipped into the chilly water and rested his aching body. He snorted softly and lazily floated.
--
V'rid felt the great sadness of the choice- shared his dragon's pain. He gasped softly as he felt his dragon's aches and sores. He'd fought and flown with all his might.. But now the bluerider had his mind. He could separate from his dragon. But the lust hadn't been forgotten. The exciting overwhelming desire had been dulled but not destroyed. Ara was gone but he flashed Hirion a grin. There was always others... He stepped closer careful since she would also be recovering from the lost flight. "Hey." He said simplely.

So close now, he almost had her...but the the green dodged, twisting away from his embrace! Before Ferrth could even recover, Avirith was already twining with the brown, and disappointed, Ferrth turned away. Fully exhausted, he could do little more than glide back to his own weyr and settle down on his bed.
I'm sorry, Ferrth...Hirion shared in her dragon's disappointment and frustration, but the side effects of the flight were still there. She caught V'rid's eye; well, he was a good deal more attractive to her than Ara, anyway. She gave him a wide smile, and then, because she was still drunk on flight emotions, kissed him on the lips. "Hi there."

It was his last and only attempt, this hopeful dive to catch his lady. Syphraelth tucked his wing, falling towards the spot he had hoped Avirith would turn to. Had he judged wrong? Would this turn out? Her body moved towards him and, as planned. Crooning with glee, he reached for her, twining with her the moment she was in his grasp. Beautiful Avirith... He murmurmed, his wings spreading to carrying them both in a slow spiral, the finaly step of their dance.
J'degar hissed as his prize was taken away. He should tear the intruder limb from limb. He had won her! Not J'dol! She is not yours to chase. J'degar stumbled, not having realized he had begun stepping towards the retreating forms of Ara and J'dol. Pausing as a small amount of his human mind began to return. Ara was not the one he wanted it was...
"Assaila?" He stumbled back towards her, a mixture of lust and worry in her eyes. "Sharding idiot! What did I tell you about flightlusting riders!" He was angry, angry because of the danger she had put herself in. He Reached for her, wanting to pull her away from the group before someone else got the idea to take advantage of her presence. J'dol, meanwhile, was in a darn good mood as Ara pulled him away. He smiled and leaned to kiss her.

Assaila didn't even protest, she simply jumped up and threw herself into his arms, tears starting to fall from her eyes even then. "Gar..." she whispered, clinging to him, clinging to his shirt with one hand, pressing her face against him and ignoring all the others who were around them. She felt safe the moment his arms were around her. Faranth... She didn't say anything else for a long time. "Let's go... please... Gar...?" She looked up at him, tears in her eyes.
She burried her face in his chest again, just wanting to dissapear from all these other people and just... make it better. Shards... she should have been in the room. If she ahd none of htis would ahve happened.
