It was really too early to be awake, but Ooma's excited dragonet refused to let her sleep any longer. Sleep is for the weak, Mine. Come let us train before the others awaken.
The green dragoness was fully awake and bouncing all around Her's feet. Ooma stifled a yawn, hastily pulling a jade green blousey shirt over her head and pants onto her legs.
Then the pair snick into the kitchen. Ooma rummaged in the cabinets or a mug and put together a cup of klah. Calibath waited patiently for Hers.
Are you done I'd like to go now. Oh? Someone else is here...
Calibath yawned and looked around. Ooma froze in place and looked about as if to flee.

Was it against the rules to have dragons in the kitchens? Probably, but that certainly didn’t stop Aridani from leading her little purple dragon there for a quick mug of klah before the day began. What does klah taste like Mine? Would I like it? Can I try some? If there was one thing Aridani had learned about her dragoness, it was that Simenath absolutely adored asking questions. Where some might find such a trait annoying, Ari didn’t think she would ever grow tired of it. After all, Simenath was the only creature in the whole world who could hear her answers.
Oh, Mine there is someone else here! My sister! the amethyst chirped, quickly skipping over to Calibath. Hello sister! What brings you and Yours here so early? Aridani, unable to do anything else, merely dipped her head in greeting before moving to grab a mug of klah.

Ooma relaxed somewhat, seeing another weyrling instead of an angry cook. "Hi, I'm Ooma.... This is Calibath."
The girl rubbed sleep from the corner of her eye. "Its too early to be up...." Ooma murmered, unaware Aridani couldn't reply.
SisterMine!
Calibath's eyes whirled and she nuzzled the amethyst. Are you up to train? I didn't realize others would be awake this early....
There was new respect in her brassy voice. Her dark hide contrasted against Simenath's.

Aridani smiled at the woman who was clearly a weyrling as well. What a pretty little green she had! The harper-turned weyrling smiled at Ooma and gave another nod to show she had heard, though she made no movement to speak. Simenath had already learned better though.
Hello Sister Calibath and Yours! I am Simenath and Mine is Aridani. The amethyst seemed to dance around Hers as she spoke, punctuating her mindspeech with the occasional chirp or whistle. Mine is a very early riser and wanted a hot drink this morning. I don’t know if we will train so early, but I would love to sing outside!

Ooma smiled also. Sing? I...I don't sing...
The muscled green cocked her head. Could a deep voice like hers carry pretty notes?
Ooma smiled, drinking some klah. "Nice to meet you both."
She walked alittle closer to Aridani. "We could go outside together? You wouldn't mind if we did that would you?"

Her sister didn’t sing? Oh the horror! There was nothing more thrilling than letting loose and singing your heart out! Well, as far as Simenath knew anyways. She hadn’t had a real opportunity to sing loudly since they had spent most of their time in the barracks. Maybe this would be an opportunity to play with her sister!
Yes likewise to you Calibath’sOwn! Mine and I would love to walk together. Yup, we would! We feel so stuffed in the barracks, it’s time for some fresh air! Tugging loosely at Aridani’s shirt, the amethyst attempted to drag her rider out of the kitchens, chirping back at Calibath.

Calibath chirped, bounding after Simenath happily "I guess that means we are doing whatever Calibath and Simenath are planning." Ooma laughed. Calibath let out a brass trumpet, seriously trying this 'singing' thing.
How do I sing? Can my deep voice carry a note? What do you sing?
The green asked enough questions to possiblely rival her sister.
Ooma pushed open the Weyr door (at Calibath's command) and stepped out. It was dim but not dark. And the air had a sharp but fading chill.

Aridani chuckled, well, she did something that looked like chuckling though no sound came out. It was entertaining to watch the green make a sound, which Ari could only assume was an attempt at singing. It was amazing how much the harper’s world had grown since impressing. People who would never give her the time of day were suddenly paying attention to her, and she never felt lonely anymore. If only D’tri were here… her life would be perfect.
She followed Simenath and Calibath out of the kitchen, take a deep breath as they stepped out into the cool morning air. Oh Mine! Can we sing? Will you play with me? Calibath and Yours, you too? The amethyst wiggled in anticipation as Ari smiled. The weyrling pulled out her pipes and after a quick check for tone began playing a light, happy tune that immediately had Simenath dancing. The amethyst chirped quietly as she moved, but it was her mind voice that did the singing, adding in a wordless harmony to the tune and changing Ari’s playing into a duet.
