{{Using White Flitter from Easter egg hunt and Runnerbeast from surprise bag}}
Appearance:
The first thing one might notice about Cayin is his piercing, icy blue eyes; at least, that’s what he believes. His hair is a dark brown that he likes to style with special concoctions. He is not a big fan of facial hair, and tries to keep himself as clean shaven as possible. His skin is rather pale, occasionally showing a light tan. More often than not, it has a red colouring to it, be it from the time spent out in the sun, or the time spent in front of the hot fires for his glass-smithing. His skin, specifically along his arms, is heavily marked with small scars and occasionally a fresh burn or two, most of which are caused from accidents while crafting. The marks, for the most part, are small and faded.
Cayin stands just over six feet tall, and he has a natural, lightly muscled build that suits his height perfectly. He doesn’t spend a lot of time on physical activity outside of his craft though, so long periods of physical activity do tend to tire him out. A happy man, Cayin loves to smile and usually carries himself in a carefree fashion. When it comes to standing around, Cayin can usually be found with his hands in his pockets or his thumbs looped through his belt.
Loose, comfortable clothing in darker tones are usually his preference, though the occasional splash of colour will be added in for fun. He quite enjoys dressing up and is often among the first to run out to buy new gather clothing when the opportunity arises. His regular work clothes however, are always dull in colour and usually covered in scorch marks. Oddly enough, Cayin has a strange fascination with jewelry and when not at work it is near impossible to see him without an accessory of some sort. Most commonly worn is a hand-made glass earing. He has many, all made by himself, and likes to cycle through them.
Personality:
Calm, Happy, Lover, Prankster, Easygoing, Faithful, Impulsive, Lazy, Lonely
Cayin is, above all else, an easy-going man. He’s the type to take things at face value and just enjoy life as it comes. He has dreams and goals of course, and he puts a fair bit of work into reaching those goals, but he’s just as happy to lay back and watch the clouds go by for days on end. A calm man, it take a lot to get any sort of negative response out of Cayin, in fact he often comes off as innocent or naïve because he doesn’t seem to know when he’s being made fun of or verbally attacked. He can, perhaps, be a bit airheaded, and he certainly can seem a little bit too laid-back at times. Truth be told he is an intelligent young man and simply doesn’t see the point in fighting. Perhaps it is because of his craft, but Cayin has a shockingly high pain tolerance. In fact, there are times when he needs to be told he's injured or he wouldn't notice.
Cayin is the type of man you want by your side when trying something new. He’s always quick to complement and encourage, wanting to help those he cares about reach their full potential. That’s not to say he is the type to just sit back and let others take the spotlight. There are times, now and again, where Cayin likes to shake things up. Usually this means finding some way to play a small prank of some sort; stealing glows or putting a trundlebug in a friend’s bed. His pranks are meant in good fun; simple things meant to humor those around him.
Never the type to rush into work, Cayin often seems lazy or uninterested, but it’s more like he simply enjoys stopping to smell the roses. Life is all about the experience after all so where is the fun in always rushing. He does have impulsive moments now and again, especially when it comes to exploring or adventuring beyond the Weyr walls. He tries not to spend too much time trying to reach decisions under the belief that his gut is probably right.
In the end, Cayin is a lover, not a fighter. He takes great joy in all aspects of love, be in the playful wooing or the loving relationship, love is something Cayin simply cannot live without. In fact, the only time the boy ever seems unhappy is when he doesn’t have a girlfriend. At first glance it may seem that he is just a playboy, but truth be told he puts great value on each and every relationship and is faithful to the end. The end of relationships are always tough on Cayin. He can become quite mopey and melodramatic when a girl breaks his heart. Aside from love, there are very few things Cayin is truly passionate about. His other great loves are his glass-smithing and music.

History:
For the longest time, Cayin didn’t quite know how he came to be. It wasn’t until he was seven or so Turns that he learned he was the product of a flight, something he had assumed for a couple Turns at that point. He grew up in the crèche, surrounded by loving workers and many friendly faces, including Liam, a boy who would end up being somewhat of a best friend. It was during his seventh Turn that he not only learned the identity of his father, but discovered he had step-siblings and an uncle to boot. In fact, his uncle, who lived in a nearby cothold, turned out to be one of the people who had occasionally come to the crèche to play with him.
With this new knowledge in hand, Cayin grew significantly closer to his uncle, and within the Turn had even begun helping his uncle out with the runners when the man came to the Weyr. Cayin picked up the art of feeding and grooming the runners, and quickly picked up the basics for riding; a talent his uncle took advantage of. Before long, Cayin was capable of riding one of his uncle’s runners to and from the cothold, where he would often go to assist the father figure with the runners he bred. His uncle spoke often of Cayin simply staying at the cothold and becoming a runnerbreeder as well, but the young boy knew it was not his calling. In fact, Cayin believed his calling would be the harper craft. He loved to sing, loved it more than runners even, and swore to become a harper one day.
That day came shortly before his fourteenth Turnday, when he finally gained the marks to buy passage to Apollo Hold. He left behind his uncle, the runners, and his best friend in the hopes of reaching his dream. It was not to be however. Within the first Turn of his apprenticeship, Cayin learned he didn’t want to be a harper. Sure, he loved to sing and enjoyed every moment doing it, but he had no talent for teaching or working with instruments. He began looking into the other crafts taught at Apollo and eventually stumbled across the Glasscrafters. Their work was beautiful, awe-inspiring pieces of wonder that tore at Cayin’s very being. This was to be his next big dream!
The glasscraft did indeed turn out to be the perfect craft for the young man. He threw his all into learning, though it was the detail work that he fell in love with. There were many mistakes, and it wasn’t long before Cayin’s arms became littered with scars; the proof of his love. It wasn’t until his 17th Turnday that he gathered together the marks to visit his uncle, and he received quite the surprise during his visit. His trip home was significantly less expensive, as his uncle had spent the years of his apprenticeship training a beautiful young mare for his ‘son’; a gift for his successful apprenticeship.
With Wrythen by his side, Cayin found it easier to visit his uncle, but it was still a rare occurrence. Due to time constraints for travel, he never found a chance to travel to Trelis to see his best friend. It was, give or a take, two Turns later that he stumbled across a flit nest during his morning ride. It was a green nest, and Cayin was feeling rather impulsive so he stole one of the undamaged eggs, later impressing the small white firelizard within.
Recently his life has taken a drastic turn. It had been a routine morning like any other when a dragon arrived on search. For Turns Cayin had watched the dragons pick out likely candidates, but he had never been one of them – until that morning. Suddenly having the chance to impress, Cayin was torn. Leave the craft he loved for the chance at a dragon, or stay behind? Well, life was all about experiencing everything, so after a brief discussion he agreed. However, he made his own way to Trelis a-runnerback instead of riding the searchdragon, wanting to bring Wrythen with him no matter what. Now, he finds himself settling into the barracks, wondering what adventure lies around the corner and wondering if he’ll ever run into the best friend he had left behind.
IC History:
Appearance:
Jalith is a tall dragon, for a blue. He has a long, gracefully extended neck that ends in a sharp, chiseled head with a long muzzle. Being so tall, Jalith is rather on the larger side for a blue, but instead of bulk it is made up of lithe, willowy length. This is not to say that the blue is without muscle, for he is strong, as is aided by his larger size.
His hide is a dark, mottled blue. Mainly dark, his hide changes colour primarily at his legs, face, and wings. All fur of Jalith's legs are a steel gray-blue. This same colour is found mottled along the rest of his body and along his tail in odd splotches. His face, however, has a more sky-blue to it. Across his eye is a stripe, the same colour as the back of his neck and wings, that gives him the appearance of having on a mask and cape, almost.
Oddly, Jalith habitually looks up at the sky. The dragon seems to be constantly checking the position of the sun, moon, or stars, and always seems to comment on it, as if he is waiting for something. Eerily, Jalith always seems to know the direction he is traveling in without ever having to ask.
Personality:
Quiet, Mysterious, Caretaker, Curious
Jalith is a mysterious dragon, not in that he is hard to understand, but just in that he is often so quiet. He is a dragon who, at least with strangers, likes to keep his thoughts to himself. He often comes off as anti-social, but it’s more that he just simply believes others have no business knowing his thoughts. He is a quiet dragon, even to those he opens up to, and he is certainly not the kind of dragon who will get into fights or arguments with others. That said, if he or his rider are pushed into a corner, Jalith won’t hesitate to show he is no pushover.
This blue has a strange affinity for the dead. He will never mourn the loss of another, save for a brief keen of respect. All deaths, no matter how miniscule in his eyes, will receive a moment of silence from him. Feeding time in particular will become a bit of an annoyance when he’s larger, as every heardbeast he downs will be given a moment of silence before being eaten. Jalith has a need to care for the sick and injured, and while he can’t do much on his own, it’s not uncommon to see him hanging around the infirmary, supporting the injured dragons with his silent vigil, or keeping the dying company until they pass on. In a way, he considers himself to be the watcher or caretaker of the dying.
To his own rider, Jalith still tends to be rather quiet, but he does have moments of curiosity. This dragon has an irrepressible need to understand the hard things in life, and he won’t hesitate to ask his rider question after question to get a solid understanding. It can be annoying at times, but once his curiosity has been sated, Jalith will quickly revert back to his quiet nature.
Mind-Voice:
You must explain this to me, Mine.
Like a sharp bark, Jalith's voice can be rather loud unexpected in the the back of your mind. He doesn't mean to be so loud, he simply talks so little most times that to hear something from him is surprising in itself.

Appearance:
Lehr isn’t the smallest white around, but he isn’t a large white by any means. From nose to tail tip he reaches almost eight and a half inches, however most of that length is tail. His body itself is rather small, ‘compact’ if you will. Short legs, a short torso and a tiny head, a good estimate would be to say his tail is about two thirds of his total length. His hide, like most of his rank, is a soft white, though it is flecked with hints of a light green. If you look closely at his toes, you might notice they are quite green in colour. Lehr can usually be found perched on Cayin’s shoulder, his front claws holding onto his human’s ear for support.
Personality:
Shy, Friendly, Playful, Curious
Lehr is a shy little flitter. It takes a short while for him to find the courage to meet someone new, but he does enjoy the act of making friends. A happy, friendly male, Lehr loves to play and have fun. If only he wasn’t always so nervous! Despite his shyness, Lehr also has a curious nature that he simply can’t ignore. The call of the wild has an easy time getting this little white to go exploring.
Appearance:
Bred for speed, Wrythen has lean but powerful muscling resulting in a rather sleek appearance. She has pinto colouring; a sorrel brown coat with large sections of white. The white reaches primarily down her neck and right foreleg and a section on the left side of her rump. She has a white stockings on all four legs, a star marking on her forehead and a white snip on her right nostril. Her long mane and tail vary between black and creamy white.
Personality:
Calm, Gentle, Steady
Wrythen is a gentle horse who seems to be happiest when she is doing what her master wants. She has a calm disposition and rarely spooks, resulting in a dependable mare. She does have her moments of excitement, though it takes a bit of urging to get her to let loose. Wrythen loves to run, and it is merely her excellent training that stops her from breaking into a gallop at any available moment. Given the urging to run however, and she'll go until she's ready to drop.
