Name: B'ran (Bekran)
Pronunciation: buh-RAN (BECK-rehn)
Age: 15
Season Born In: Summer, 188th Turn of Interval
Gender: Male
Sexuality: Heterosexual
Appearance: When it comes to physical appearance, B'ran takes more after his late father than his mother. His skin is somewhat dark and doesn't tan very noticeably. He is a bit tall for his age and shows every sign of growing even taller as he ages. He is rather thin as well, scrawny even, though again, it seems like something he'll grow out of in a few turns.
He has his father's pale eyes, which are a greyish blue in color. They are wide and large, giving him something of a permanently-surprised look. That said, he did inherit his mother's nose--large and prominent. His features in general tend to be sharp and angular. His hair is a middling brown shade. It's short and rather scruffy, often looking like it hasn't been combed in about a week--which, to be fair, it likely hasn't. He isn't particularly attentive to appearances and prefers comfortable clothes over showy ones.
Personality: B'ran is a friendly individual, though he tends to be skittish around strangers ever since his ordeal three turns ago. He's generally outgoing, though, and enjoys being around other people once he's warmed up to them. He gets bored and jittery if he's alone for too long, so often prefers to brave the company of strangers if he doesn't have friends around.
He is quite fond of animals, and though he's never managed to attract a fire lizard, he still hopes to obtain a pet of some kind. Flitter, huntyre, feline, whatever, he's not picky. In fact, he'll probably end up with several. He has trouble saying no to a creature in need and grows attached fast. Coming from a dragonriding family, it's unsurprising that B'ran is quite impressed with the dragons as well, and is particularly fond of mutations of all types, especially since he rides one now. Though Blasieth has some high ambitions, the idea of too much responsibility on his shoulders makes him nervous.
Part of the reason he thinks so is because he simply lacks the ambition to be Weyrleader, Wingsecond, Weyrlingmaster or whatever else. He isn't the sort of person people typically think of as a "leader," since he prefers to follow orders and blend in with the rest of the crowd rather than stand out. He is not the defiant sort, preferring to give in rather than make a fuss, and he dislikes confrontation. It takes a significant event to make him rebel, and when he does so, he tends to do it in a passive-aggressive manner--smiling to someone's face while sabotaging their work behind their back.
Bekran is an active person who dislikes sitting still. He finds reading boring, and is a competent writer at best. He would much rather be outdoors, doing something useful and perhaps messy with his time. He's not afraid of getting dirty, and pays little attention to his clothes.

Iskra: Mother, 37, Rider of Gold Maeleth
B'sar: Father, deceased, Rider of Bronze Elseth
Location: Trelis Weyr, Telgar Weyr, back at Trelis
Rank: Weyrling
History: Bekran was born to the then-junior weyrwoman of Trelis, Iskra. His father, B'sar, was a bronzerider, and Iskra's weyrmate until his death in a betweening accident. Bekran was only a turn old at the time, however, and doesn't really remember his father, and his mother was often too busy to tell him much. In fact, Iskra was too busy for a lot of things, like raising her son, and Bekran was raised by a foster mother in the Lower Caverns. He dealt with his birth mother's distant nature well, though, and he wasn't completely ignored, either. He spent most of his time with the other weyrbrats, though, and never wanted for company.
It was four turns ago, when he was about eleven turns old, when things began to change. The first of the new colors turned up in Loraketh's second clutch, and then shortly after in Maeleth's. Bekran found the new mutations fascinating, but not everyone was so enthused at their appearance. While his mother's queen was on the sands, Bekran and three other children of ranking weyrfolk were kidnapped by a band of dragonriders from a different Weyr. They were taken away from Trelis and held hostage in order to force Trelis to get rid of the mutant colors by sending them between. The children were rescued before long and taken home without further trouble, but the experience was still frightening for the twelve-turn-old.
It was frightening for Iskra as well, apparently. She began to worry and fuss over Bekran as she never had before, and when she learned Bekran had been having nightmares about his kidnapping, she resolved to leave Trelis for the safety of her dragon and her son. After all, there was no telling what those crazy riders were willing to do next. They left shortly after Maeleth's clutch on the sands had hatched.
The change in scenery was a relief for Bekran, though his mother continued her heightened and nearly smothering attention to him for nearly a turn before backing off. By then she had more eggs on the sands, though, and another queen egg to look forward to. Bekran was rather glad for the break. As soon as he was old enough (which wasn't long after they arrived at Telgar), he began to stand for clutches there, though he didn't Impress. Recently, however, Iskra was sent back to Trelis as their Weyrwoman after the death of Iirla, and though Bekran was reluctant to return, he went back with her.
Turns out it was a good thing he did, too. Topaz Chahaturth's clutch was already hardening on the sands when he arrived, but despite missing the Touching, he stood the clutch and managed to find Ebony Blasieth on the Sands. The two are now in weyrling training.
Dragon
Name: Blasieth
Pronunciation: bla (black without the ck) - ss - eye - th
Age: 0 months
Type: Dragon
Rank: Ebony
Size: 20.5 feet at full growth
Color Codes: Base: 433E37 Armadillo Gray
Wings: 130A06 Asphalt Black
Face Mask: 000000 Black
Wing Stripes: ABA196 Bronco Gray
Appearance: Blasieth is an average sized ebony dragon with very well proportioned limbs. He actually appears to be quite seamless and at times it is very hard to tell where one part of his dark body ends and another begins. He is an armadillo gray in color with asphalt black wings that have bronco gray stripes running the full length of the wing membranes. It actually looks like he has a raccoon mask on his face that is a typical black in color. In all though it appears as though he blends in very well with the shadows whether he wants to or not. Sometimes this can be a good thing, and at others it can be a complete pain in the butt for lack of better words. Either way it won’t be as hard as his rider thinks to bathe him for dirt seems to stand out a bit on his very dark hide.
Personality: Blasieth can be a very sweet and friendly dragon, and even a very loyal companion, but there's not many people who get to see that side of him. He may make a few friends as he grows older, but he is an intensely shy and extremely quiet dragon; he is the sort who hates to draw attention to himself and prefers to remain in the shadows--literally as much as figuratively. He is an eloquent enough dragon when he does speak up, and isn't particularly socially awkward, but for the most part, he prefers to keep silent unless he really has something to say.
This certainly works against him considering his high ambitions for himself and his rider. He wants to be someone someday, someone important, so he and B'ran can show the Weyr what the mutations can really do. He likes the idea of everyone bowing to his whims, but when he thinks of the networking and talking involved to get there? *shudder* His plans are mostly unformed at the moment, and he's mostly focused on just getting B'ran to go along with him, but who knows what the future holds? He will likely be drawn to the Rebellion and their lofty ideals for the future of Pern, though.
Like many ebonies, Blasieth is a dreamer. His daydreams mostly consist of what he will do when he's older, but he has a fairly short attention span and is easily distracted, so he'll sometimes find his daydreams turn down different and occasionally very strange paths. He is a trustworthy, steadfast dragon, who will never turn on those he considers friends, but he is not the best judge of character and well, sometimes he's a little too trusting. If he's not careful, he could end up defending people who really are not worth it.
Mind-Voice (If applicable):
We will do great things Mine, you just have to believe that.
Blasieth’s voice can be hard to hear at times because it is so soft and quiet. There are even times that a person won’t even know that he’s talking to them until he raises his voice a little. Either way his voice always holds a sort of friendly quality. It actually kind of feels like the hug of a best friend that you haven’t seen in months and that you’ve missed terribly. Though there are times when he will be very upset and it actually sounds like his voice is a silent threat that can send shivers down a person’s spine and make them fear what lurks in the dark.
Reason:
I believe that together, you and I B'ran, can do great things. We just need to ignore what the other's say about us. Together we will single handedly make Pern a better place where everyone can trust each other and not have to worry about getting hurt.
